The one thing wevall have in common moaners and optimists alike is we all love our club.footballers are employed individuals who may kiss the badge one minute but when they leave tell the press how bad it was or they didn't want to leave because of The fantastic fans. Fact is can't blame them for wanting more it's what we all want. But one thing is for certain players may come and go but the fans of this wonderful club that we love so passionately will always be there to get behind anyone brave enough to pull on the white shirt. I stood in the kop first game in league one with 27,000 other fanatics no matter what league well always be there that's what makes us different we are Leeds and were proud of it Phil Bramley

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Agreed. By the way is that the same phil Bramley that edits the Derbyshire times?

Agree0 Disagree0

No but looking for a job if you have any suggestions need to afford my season ticket some how

Can't get my head round anyone who says Tom lees is no good, he's the "young, hungry" player we want and holds that true loyalty we Leeds lads value, he will be good and would love to see how he grows

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Was one of our most consistent performers last season. had a few poor games but he cant be amazing every game in his first full season in the championship

Agree3 Disagree0

Leeds lads loyalty lol

In my best Corporal Jones from dad's army voice... don't panic! Lots of people seem to expect all sorts of signings to have materialised already but if we are realistic this won't be the case because:

1. We rightly don't discuss business till it is complete
2. This season has finished early this year, at this time of year we would normally still be waiting for the play-offs
3. A lot of players coming out of contract won't have done so yet and we need to wait on this
4. Prem clubs are only just deciding which players to release (possibly a market NW will be looking at)
5. NW is still our manager, if he wasn't confident he'd walk as he has nothing to prove in the game
6. We don't want to pay players for their summer holidays if we don't have to
7. Yes we might have to wait for some to go out before we spend on players coming in

And BTW we HAVE made a good signing already, which is a great start!

TIME FOR MY SAY NOW, under o'leary and PR we had fun, we was up there in at the top part of the English league, we amazingly got relegated to the championship n then league1 , we had to rebuild a squad to get us up to the championship, after a new chairman and a few managers and a few tries we did it, we now have the absolute best manager possible at this level he is a man that loves to be hated because he says it how it is and takes no crap and a very very good tacticition, this is the best manager we have probably ever had other than revie. Yes we have lost good players, the chairman has got this club out of the crap when he could of easily gone else where, most of you wish he had but I can still follow my club at a competitive level now which I might not been able to, we are back making our way up to the top after PR destroyed our club, saints and norwich were lucky, were not, we will get back up there and maybe never Be the top club we were but now is the time to get behind the club/manager/chairman/squad.this season is the most important season in years. Just give your support to the very last day of the transfer Market and for every game this season, this season stop moaning about any little thing wrong with the manager/chairman/squad/transfers and get down to ellend road this season and be that 12th man, throughout the highs and the lows, be the people to pick this club up and drive them to the premiership, show the country we our ready and it's our turn, this is our club, we are the power of this club, let's use it and get this club back where is deserves to be, I love Leeds united, time for everyone to prove and show that you love Leeds united now, all of us marching on together

I wonder if Pearce is still as happy about joining us? I am normally dead against all the negative talk, but the noises from Snodgrass and Warnock over the past couple of days, coupled with the fact no signings appear to be close, I'm really starting to fear the worst.

I must stress I'm not normally this pessimistic. But it wouldn't surprise me at all if Warnock gave it up as a bad job. Then what?

Has anyone ever heard of demonstrations at a football ground in the middle of June?

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Can't help but think the lad got merked by Bates and Warnock... "we're building for promotion", "premier league players on the way", "we're going to bring your mate in too"...

Agree1 Disagree2

Yeah! Let's have a demonstration!! That always helps...

Scott dobbie anyone? Think he would be a good addition for us playing behind Becchio...?

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Yes he would, but there's more chance of Father Christmas playing for us than him.

Agree1 Disagree1

Saw him against WH. Paynter could have done better. Cost them the game along with the other goal shy individual.

Agree0 Disagree0

Considering i dont know who he is i wouldnt want him, although Swansea have a great player called STEPHEN DOBBIE. i would have him ;) haha

Davies not signing, just paper talk, Warnock said he could get 5 players for 1 million, hopefully he's right and sticks by his word of quality.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Listen to Warnock's words carefully - he said he DOESN'T HAVE 1m and if he did it would have to fund 4 or 5 players. Basically he's backtracking and saying Bates won't spend any money. Now there's a shock...

Agree3 Disagree1

He said if I get a million! - not I have a million!. I sense that his end of season optimism has been replaced by realism in the fact that eberneezer scrooge wont release the purse strings. We have other bills to pay like the revamped exec boxes in the east stand, legal bills for his court case and now we are taking on west yorkshire police in court about policing fees - it beggars belief!. We will get into June and the excuses will start - agents, players on hols, euro 2012, then into July, agents on hols, wait to see what prem teams are doing, long time to go till season starts. august - olympics no chance of doing business, agents still on hols/ week before season starts will get last minute loan deals - and so it starts again - sorry to go on, but its the same old lies every year

Agree5 Disagree2

Bates got rid of Grayson because he thought Warnok could get us up with the same squad ( at least in to the play-offs) last season. Plan backfired big time. There is no way Bates is going to spend money on re-building a team. Expect loads of 'Difficult negotiations' 'problems with agents' 'Just missed out' followed by 'quality' has beens and on-loans. Expect loads of the same faces next season-Warnock is alreadey back tracking on his earlier statements. In 4 weeks time the optimism currently shown on these pages, by some, will soon turn to despair as we will, once again, see the level of commitment Bates has to our great Club-ZERO.

Good point... Why else bring in a new manager after the transfer window has closed.

united manager neil warnock says work is continuing behind the scenes as he looks to strengthen his squad.

the elland road boss drafted in portsmouth skipper jason pearce the week after the season ended and he has been a linked with a host of players over the past few weeks.

"it's not been straightforward by any means," said the boss.

"i'm disappointed we haven't got one or two more over the dotted line, but we just haven't quite been able to finish them off really and i'm optimistic we can push on.

"we're working hard behind the scenes and as soon as it's possible, make no mistake, we will be.

"i'm talking to a lot of players and trying to get as many as i can in. that's going to be the whole summer in that way.

"it's not straightforward, and that's not just for me, but for anybody because we're all after the same players. you have to persevere and see if you come up trumps."
os...now read between the lines, yes pearse in... fact and thats it!!
in the nicest way nw is telling us, he's struggling to get any decent players...why no real money, prashes like see if we come up trumps, ie a luck buy or a decent freebe, look at another phrase i'm talking to a lot of players how long does it take a player to say yes or no...base this on how much, how long, and whats the future plan...well snoddy doesn't think much of it. i fear nw too has been hoodwinked by ken bates...it's disappointing but have no faith in ken bates hunger to take leeds utd forwards at any great pace..mot what you think ed.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

We will still get players but of what calaber i don't know. I do know this.
if sgt warnock wasn't here we would be done for, but he is and that will give us pulling power.
I feel thats the reason for bates goin for Warnock, so players hopefully come for him and not the money.
Its 2012 and manager doesn't mean sh-t in this day and age. Money talks, bullsh=t walks is player moto. mot4life

Agree3 Disagree1

Meaning we cant find anybody because all the other teams are paying more....

Agree4 Disagree2

Wishful thinking but maybe theyre saying such comments so other clubs dont think weve got the funds to pay through the nose for players transfers or their wage demands ;)

Breaking news theirs no transfer kitty for warnock to spend on quality players. So if you hear anymore rumours, they are all bull. Bates is destroying our beloved club, and Leeds fans will do nothing about it. McCormack is going! Snodgrass is going! White is going! These were suppose to be players that warnock was going to build a new team round, wake up it's not going to happen. The fact is that Leeds are going back to league 1. Bates & Harvey are laughing at us fans

Believable5 Unbelievable5

What a doom monger. Are you taking anti depressants of something ? If not can I advise you to go and see someone who can prescribe them cus ya need them.

Agree5 Disagree3

Bang on pal, we will sell our best because we are broke, master bates will walk after he rapes the club of all its assets.
The plus side as I stated yesterday (21st)the wheels are in motion for a takeover by pearson and a guy called peter wilkinson and backing from dudai, this is going on as we speak, will they be in time to save the clubs assets ? only bates knows he as we know is a suborn man driven by money ......so come on Pearson save us GET THIS MAN OUT OF OUR CLUB 'NOW' M.O.T....K.T.F.

Agree2 Disagree3

He has a fair point though doesn't he? If White, Snodgrass and McCormack, who really know the vibe and atmosphere at the club, all want to leave it does not really fill one with confidence for the upcoming season. I really can't see Warnock sticking around with the restrictions I believe Bates and Harvey are placing on him. I reckon he took the job to reinforce his ego as what he saw as a big club were interested in him. He did not seem to negotiate too long over the finer details and just met Bates in Monaco and took his word that he would get his hand in his pocket. We all know this won't happen and that Leeds only way back into the EPL is once Ken bites the dust and we get some serious investment. Unfortunately, Neil will be long gone by then and we'll wish we still had Grayson at the helm who knew what a devious old sod Bates is, but truly loved the club.

Agree2 Disagree2

Don't think he's being a doom monger mate - have you heard Warnock's Radio Leeds interview today or read Snoddy's interview? It's pretty depressing stuff - and that's not 'my brother who knows Warnock's dog minder' - it's what Warnock himself, and Snoddy himself, said.

Agree3 Disagree2

Just one question ,how do we replace McCormack , white ,Clayton, snodgrass ? There all leaving for one reason Bates vision for the club ,which is none existent

Agree3 Disagree1

We are going down. We will sell everyone and not bring anyone in of any quality. First poster is just a realist.

Agree3 Disagree2

Hes leaving the club to his wife/son so we wont be shot of him then!

I signed up for Leeds many many years ago and I'm 52. Thats what Leeds always get..... LOYALTY & FAITH. Lets not forget Man City were in Div 1 and Man Utd were in the old Championship. Our time will come young man... Hopefully before I die :)

well sorry to say it, but snoddys gone - publicly speaking out against bates
he wont have him at the club anymore

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Disagree. Strategy by his agent. Think he will stay for time being.

Agree2 Disagree6

I say cash in now and start looking at players to fill the void. mot4life

Agree6 Disagree2

Just because you can get a club to pay the asking doesn't mean Snodgrass has to leave - at the end of day its still his choice whether to move or see his contract out - hence the phrase " you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink"

Agree3 Disagree2

Snodders just backing up what howson started, the board wont invest in the team therefore why should the players invest in the boards lies

Why do Leeds fans constantly moan and worry about transfers? It's only May not August. Calm down and get off warnock and bates backs.

Signings will be made, keep the faith!

Danny lufc

Believable11 Unbelievable6

I think people would think differently if we where not told that we should exspect things moving quickly and instead we find us moving a snail pace. Dont forget alot of people leaveing are team and you do need to replace some of them. Hopefully not with backend rejecks that no-one wants. COME SGT, FINGER OUT. mot4life

Agree4 Disagree3

And, given that it looks like our only three real footballers, Snoddy, McCormack and Clayton, are on their way out, I think we have a right to be concerned.

Yet another legal case, funded by us the fans, is about to start - yes, we're paying Bates to sue the police for overcharging now. Well done Master Bates.

Snoddy is making it very clear that he thinks the club is showing no ambition.

Hope all you Bates lovers are feeling good about yourselves. He's destroying our club and you're all buying into his 'good business' bullsh1t.

Bad businessman, bad football club owner, bad human being. Bates Out.

Agree6 Disagree2

Hey, i want Leeds to be promoted next season but it will not happen, the decent players we need will never come as we dont pay enough and all good players will chase money as we all do in life. If we paid the going rate and the attraction of the club would be enough

Agree6 Disagree1

What I'm more worried about is that our decent players are all wanting to leave. Something ain't right at helland road...

Agree5 Disagree2

Reply to the first post where where you last pre-season chump? when smichel was replaced by paul re-crap-ka and andy i have hands made out of butter lonergan. and gradel was replaced by....? and jonhson was replaced by...? and howson was replaced by....? and killkenny (although t++s) was replaced by....NW great but bates has killed club and made us smaller than barnsley, not even pride of yorkshire...sad times hard to keep faith snods, white and ross out which is fine but they might be replaced by....? I hate happy leeds fans, they cant be true fans surely?

Agree7 Disagree1

Kilkenny was replaced by Clayton who's also t++s!

PSJ

Agree3 Disagree1

Lat poster's wrong - Clayton's a good young player - look at his pass completion stats - his tackling - his goals. Not the finished article by any means but promising and one of our best three players last season - and yes I go to the games.

Its all our fault for protesting before the boro game last year we missed out on 20 million investment! its crimminal to see whats happening to our once great club

dont get me wrong but i dont like bates but for snoody to say wot he his in yep he is just making excuses he wants to leave simple as that how can he say wot he is when we are only 2 weeks into the transfer market let him go to norwich these player,s make me sick just come out and tell the truth why you want to leave i love leeds and will still be there next season end the one after that

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Easy ,when all he can see is 3 of our top players leaving and only 1 player been brought in . we are going backwards rather than forward at the moment . if i was him i would of asked for a transfer already and then it would be up to Leeds to persuade him to stay with new signatures . snoddy will sign if we get a squad full of ambitious players otherwise he will be off to prem league

Agree4 Disagree4

But he will always be mid table player with lack of pace. I like the lad but lets be honest he's not irreplaceble. we will start the bidding at 5 million. mot4life

But he'll be on big wages and lets be honest thats what these players fundementally care about

Wish Warnock would just sign 1 key player and soon. It could make this summer that bit more enjoyable rather than all us Leeds fans sat here worrying what we have to look forward to come August. 1 premiership class player and I reckon Snodgrass and White will sign on the dotted line. Me personally would let Ross leave, rumours are that he is being linked with a move away for a fee of around £2.5m... I would cash in and see if Jordan Rhodes is available when Huddersfield lose in the play off final. Every season we have to go through the summer being linked with every player under the sun and every summer we are sadly let down by the board. We have made a good start by releasing all the fringe players and listing others who are not upto the challenge of been a Leeds player, We have made a great signing in Pearce who I predict will one day be captain, we now need to push on and get what all us Leeds fans deserve "a team worth watching who are proud to wear the white shirt" MOT

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Wish people would stop saying rhodes because theres not a chance captain birdseye would splash what rhodes is worth. mot4life

Agree6 Disagree2

Rhodes has no pace and will get found out in the championship, yes he can finish chances but he won't get half as many when he moves up a league..not worth anymore than 2 mil until he proves otherwise with huddersfield if they get promoted

Agree6 Disagree1

Birdseye still would stump that up. Try a pack of pork scratchings and a hows your father and then your talking. mot4life

Ed, sorry for the long post - pls feel free to post in banter instead if you want.

Bates Summer or Warnock Summer.
Obviously not a rumour but I thought it would be good to have a poll. First a couple of disclaimers though. (1) References / predictions to real teams / players / events, below etc., are obviously just generic fun speculation and not intended to be specific assertions regarding them, and (2) don’t berate me on the exactness of the timeline below – this is just to give the flavour
I was going to post this just after the end of the season, maybe after the announced clear out, but didn’t get round to it. Since then we are obviously underway, and Pearce clearly made it look like it was going to be a Warnock Summer at the time. But its now 2-3 weeks on and nothing else, the usual Bates comments about flagrant wages etc are coming out, stars not re-committing, and so I think its still totally up for grabs. So, vote Agree if you think it is going to be a Bates Summer, or Disagree if you think it is going to be a Warnock Summer. That’s not to say I definitely agree it will be a Bates Summer, or a Warnock Summer. I am not sure yet, and really hope to be wrong if it’s the former. But one has to be Agree and the other has to be Disagree. You cant sit on the fence. As yet I am 60/40, and so more interested in the result of others views on a vote count, than having a definite view at this stage. But at a push Id say unfortunately not looking too good since Pearce.
So, as if you hadn't guessed, what do these terms mean. Well, as follows: a Bates Summer goes like this (in fact rather than describe it you could just say 'see last summer' - but for the benefit of those who have just become Leeds fans, or didn’t pay attention last year…), a Bates Summer is, at the start of the summer NW states he wants a good 7-8 in. Quality and the right age. Key is get them in really quickly and that is what will happen. Certainly a good 4-5 or more by the end of May not June or beyond. More after that then too. Going on hols last two weeks in May so there will definitely be major movement before that. Spoke to Ken and has board backing. Stars all to be offered new contracts and confident some of them will sign etc etc. And lo and behold Target 1 JP comes in Week 1. But …. Weeks 3-4 - NW sending out same message on ins, but the small print has changed. Now 'hope' to get some in before the 'end of May' rather than 'will' before the end of the week, it’s a long summer, as long as we don’t overspend etc etc. Despite Ken's silence (at this point both lack of endorsing NW's statements or denouncing them), you can practically taste the rage at having to spend some money, or even contemplate it, seeping out Monaco. Indeed this silence starts to be broken, with the usual radio interviews stating how players are overpaid, don’t deserve it, agents are to be shunned, we are well and carefully managed, etc. Meanwhile NW goes on hols saying it can be frustrating at times but lots happening and has targets he has not necessarily made public and lots of business is still to happen don’t worry long summer. Week 4 - Target 2 JW signs for Burnley / Ipswich / Blackpool. None of the stars have re-signed and we don’t sign anyone else yet. Rumours of the South Stand been closed to save money persist and there are lots of entries on the official site, but all about corporate hospitality next year, fathers day packages, and a new book out featuring greats of old. Week 5 - A signing! It’s a pro contract offered to another youth team player. Meanwhile AW signs for Liverpool / Stoke / Everton etc, for an undisclosed sum. Week 6 - Target 3 PG signs for Boro / Palace / Brighton etc. Target 4 CH stays at QPR on a new contract. NW disappointed. We sign a reserve / third keeper. Either a 17 year old from a good Blue Square team in top form or a 44 year old ex prem good old boy currently on a short term contract with a team in the middle east. Week 7. We actually sign Target 5. Big fanfare. This is a defensive midfielder, late 20s, who is OK'ish for Championship level but not exactly a world beater. Ken states that we have made two quality signings and this shows the ambition we have but we don’t have a bottomless pot, however there could be one or two more to come before the season starts. Week 8 - A deal is announced that we are linking up with someone to open a bowling alley / internet café / mini shopping precinct, etc, as part of the West Stand development (as the casino deal does not come off). Great news. And for the fans if all this corporate stuff doesn’t do it for you, this will help increase the ground's capacity, with extra capacity to be added in the West Stand. Visions of a new tier abound and dreams of a modern 50,000 stadium. But it later turns out to be another 480 seats, half of which are boxes. Week 9 - Lots of pics of pre-season training, new recruits gelling well, Leeds heading off to Cornwall, PPV on LUTV packages of these games all over the OS. DS back to fitness and looking so so in training. KB says as such we don’t really need another striker. Week 10 - Speculation and rumours start to get frenzied. Yorkshire's GDP drops by 1% as half the population spend most of the day on this and similar sites checking for news every 20 mins. Targets 6 and 7 now looking even more definite and NW says something should definitely happen this week (or next). Leeds draw 0-0 in the first two friendlies. Week 11 - Target 6 signs for Charlton / Birmingham / Leicester, and tweets that he wanted to come to Leeds but the wages policy made it simply impossible. KB tweets back that he should take a look in the mirror if he thinks he was worth what he asked for and good riddance. No one has yet signed AC, RN, LS etc from us. Week 12 - week and a bit to go. It is confirmed that the South Stand will be closed next season to 'rationalise and prioritise cashflow as any modern business would do in these economic times'. RMcM signs for Liverpool / Fulham / Norwich. Target 7 is JB. Has said he would love a return to his boyhood club and his current club have offered. Talk of a swap all week for AC plus come cash. No news. We play a prem club pre season at home (Wigan / West Brom / Sunderland) and loose 4-1. Week 13 - last week only days to go. AC signs for Leicester but Target 7 JB signs for Charlton / West Ham / Villa. Warnock and Bates annoyed and blame greedy agents etc etc but apparently the cash part of the deal was what scuppered it. We wouldn’t offer enough. A further renewed offer is reportedly made to RS to stay and NW says he hopes he will now as it is imperative to keep him having missed out on a few targets, but there is still time and we will be bringing in more before the window closes and they will be top quality - watch this space. KB says RS will not be sold (unless a ridiculous offer comes in which is not expected now based on discussions so far). Three days to go. We sign a mid table league one defender and loan a bottom of prem club second team midefielder. Two days to go. We sign a washed up mid 30s injury prone (long ago) ex prem player who is not going to figure on the bench this year for his current (bottom third for the last three seasons) Championship club. One day to go. RS signs for Newcastle / Spurs / Celtic etc for an undisclosed sum. The offer was unexpected and just too good to turn down and will mean that we can now afford multiple top prem loanees in the loan market which will take us into playoff places until January when we will have a sizeable war chest (less deferred fees, tax payments, running costs, and 'corporate' costs) if of course we then need it. One hour to go. We sign a 'safe pair of hands' championship midfielder / striker / defender, who had only 9 months left on his contract - although the fact that no one else wanted him - or they would have already signed him - with one hour to go sort of speaks for itself at this stage in the transfer window. Window closed. [NW walks and NR is installed as caretaker.] (in [ ] as you decide on this one). First game is at home to Sheffield Wednesday. We loose 3-0 infront of 22,306 fans…….
By contrast a Warnock Summer. Well I wont add lots of text to the already long post. It’s the opposite. We do sell AC, and don’t keep all 3 of RMcM, AW and RS. But we keep at least one of them maybe 2. Or if not we use the proceeds to turn Targets 1-7 into Targets 1-9. We sign 6 of Targets 1-7, 5 prior to pre season including JP who we already have. We sign the 6th a week later. We sign 3 more, making 9 in total, prior to the season start. A mix of early to mid / late 20s, good championship, outstanding league one stars, or good but perhaps early 30s prem pedigree. We manage to offload most if not all of the transfer listed players and those who would not re-sign, all for good fees. Somma fit and looking s**t hot in training. Ditto for Lees. We hammer the Cornish opposition and comfortably beat the Prem club we play in pre season. South stand rumours are rubbish. Season and membership tickets rocket. KB says we are going up this season and even the hating doubters offer some agreement here. First game is at home to Sheffield Wednesday. We thrash them 3-0, hitting the post three times as well, infront of 36,849 fans…...
Clearly you could say it could be a mixture of both, not one or the other, 40% one, 60% the other etc. And it could be. But if so just draw the line even if a really close call, and vote for the one nearest to which you think it will be.
Let the poll begin. Vote Agree for a Bates Summer, or Disagree for a Warnock Summer.

Hi, not only may that be the biggest post of all time, it is probably the most boring as well.
I admit to not reading all of it because I fell asleep half way through.
"let the poll begin"?

p.s. read it back to yourself and as I say get a life.

We have (like) a new player in Somma, and someone pulled out at the last minute for being greedy, or the transfer didnt go through in time (yawn)

Agree2 Disagree0

Jeez what on earth is this i bet even people at the actual club in charge of transfers etc. dont go through this much detail! Mind you they probably just get a sheet of paper full of names and with a blindfold pick one out

does antone else think we should have a punt at Izale McLeod hes on a free aswell am think le frodre did it for reading last year and maybe he could do a job for us.
What you think ED? {Ed013's Note - He would probably choose Ipswich instead! Seriously though he may do a job at this level, but I think Neil wants players to take us further after this season}

Great timinig for snoddy to publicly raise doubts about bates intentions, he should be a politician. Surely this will put significant pressure on bates to support warnocks ambitions, potential targets will read this and ask the question before agreeing to signanything!....although a loaded gun wouldnt change master bates so maybe i'm been naive

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Bates runs off stuff like this so it wont make him change his ways the only way i can see this going is the sale of snodgrass

(-Ed don't remove this please), this is aimed purely to get a response from "Sir Phillip"
I'd like to know, if not too personal. If you are really interested in buying our club, what is your valuation of the club? If Bates gave you a price, what is your max bid?
And what is your transfer policy? How much are you planning on plowing in to the club?

Just curious as to how much an investment can really help us in this league given that Leicester and Ipswich have flopped with a bit of cash.

Unless it is megabucks, surely it isn't worth risking our club?!

I love the way he has put sir but forgotten his last name, apprently sir john is also interested in buying the club but is worried as he had ties with Watford and sir Andrew likes the club but would rather put money into phantom of the opera sequel

Agree1 Disagree0

Whats this about buying Bates out?? sounds interesting but if it fails I have a plan (if I win tonights euromillions est £73 million):
1) Try to form a consortium with Russell Crowe (known leeds fan), Kaiser chiefs and Pigeon detectives
2) Buy club for estimated £50 million (with add ons for Bates to get to his value of £70 mill eventually) I'll put 40 Mill in.
3) Tickets prices to be brought down 15% + better discounts for juniors and OAP's
4) Transfer budget for new manager of £10-15 million
5) New manager Alan Smith with assistant manager Eddie Gray
6) New kit manufacturers and more reputable sponsor
7) sit back and enjoy promotion

Agree1 Disagree3

New manager Alan Smith? You're taking the pi55 I assume?

70 million...he hasn't got a chance

I am a sensible season ticket holding fan, who comes on here to try and be a voice of reason. However following the reports that both Mcormack and White are almost certainly on their way, that Snodders is waiting on the outcome of transfers in (which currently does not look good) and the fact that we are going to struggle to shift the dross. I am starting to get a familiar pre-season sinking feeling. I genuinely hope I am wrong but for Snodders to come out and speak so openly about Bates does not bode well for the future, unless this is a cunning NW / RS plan for funds to be released.

Not a rumour as such, but the interview with Snoddy on Sky Sports doesn't sound good. The gist of it is Ken Bates's word can't be trusted (which I think we all new anyway). I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't sign his contract offer, it'd be a damn shame but it sounds like Bates just misleads everyone with empty promises. MOT forever, hopefully not with Bates for much longer.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

It will be a big loss if we have to sell snoddy but hes worth big money for this league and he can be replaced by a player of similar ability for around 500 k . then we can spend the rest on another 4 -5 players of a decent quality . it would in my opinion be best for the club to sell snoddy .

Agree2 Disagree1

We dont need snoddy to tell us Bates cant be trusted. we've known it for years

Bates does't trust himself. mot4life

Bates Out!

read snodgrass' interview with skysports today - same old same old - except he's had the guts to say it as it is
For some reason football seems to be a hobby at Leeds United rather than the primary business, which currently is a rentable place for other people's Business meetings

It is just me or is there something funny about the fact bates hasn't said anything about snodgrasses comments about the club showing ambition. Surely he would loath the fact that the club captain is questioning his master plan. Unless he is quietly confident in NW's ability to produce the goods and bring the players in that we are all hoping for (including Snod's). Its quite simple really bring in players that have the quality to get the job done and the rest will fall in to place. well easier said than done.

On the herald scotland website, in the article titled 'Craig levein...' etc. it has apparantely claimed that snodgrass has been valued at around 8 million by warnock! If this is true (never heard of it before now) then seriously we should sell him. Hes been dropping lots of hints recently about leaving for his family and international career, and with fundings of around 7-9 million pounds from that (assuming warnock sticks to his price) it could do us a world of good. I know snodgrass is a great player and it would be a loss, but thinking of it financially, we could be getting a load of money to actually afford players seeing as though we might lose out to ward, im guessing because of the wages.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I agree - Sell Snoddy if he is stalling. I read his interview and you can't argue with Snoddy's thoughts. He was made the same promises about the future of our club last year and we finished no where. Snoddy is ambitious and he has given a lot to our club. Pity our ambitions may not match his. If we can get good money for him and it gets pumped back into the team, then its a no brainer for me.

Agree1 Disagree1

As great as that sounds, i just don't see Snoddy leaving for any more than 3 million. It's not like he has a multi year contract that clubs would need to buy him out of. He has 1 year left which significantly diminishes his worth. Teams simply will wait till the end of next season and battle for him on a free or offer even less in Jan (a la Howson) and grab hkim for 1-1.5m instead.
When was the last time a player from the championship with only one year left on his contract went for that kind of money. Never!
It aint gonna happen. We either persuade him to sign by showing ambition, we sell him for 3m now, we sell him for half that in Jan or he goes on a free next Summer.

Agree3 Disagree0

Got a feeling he will go, white is going according to o.s, cant see mccormack signing plus clayton well it all looks bad but if we get 8 to 10 million for them all, well spent could buy a great team, we are all here forever as once a leeds fan always a leeds fan, been through rubbish before but Warnock is the only boost we have had for years so we should trust him nad hopefully bates will give him the support he needs!! ward should still be signed before thursday o.w

Agree2 Disagree0

8-10 million? You're having a laugh? 5m tops.

Snodgrass will wait to see if leeds match his amitions by signing players capable of promotion, however expect leicester to test the water when warnock gets back from his holidays as its thought pearson and leicester are willing to go as high as 5.75 mil for him Rdub

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Not enough . they have money and we want it so we will not sell to a rival club for that cheap they will need to hit 6.5 mil atleast

He'll only leave for a premiership team.
