Leeds should fine Andy O’Brien 12 months wages!!

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Totally agree, good management from SG, no messing, simple statement move on.

Agree5 Disagree0

One thing for sure I wouldn't pay him another penny! It's an insult to anyone attached to the club and fans if he does?

Agree6 Disagree0

Yet again this highlights the difference between the Real World and the one that footballers live in.

If I refused to come to work, I wouldn't get paid. Simple as. Why does this not apply here? Surely it's a breach of contract, you sign a deal to be fit and available to play in return for a wage per week most of us work 10-12 months for?

Or am I looking at it too simplistically? {Ed003's Note - Sounds about right to me }

Agree4 Disagree0

The problem for Leeds with O'Brien is AOB wants Leeds to terminate his contract so he is free to join another club. How does that benefit Leeds? Especially if it's West Ham? Leeds want a transfer fee but will they get one? 6 weeks to go before the window opens. Can Leeds tell him not to bother coming into training? Can the parties put up with each other for 6 weeks? The real problem is that Bates is wrong when he talks about O'Brien being an employee. Footballers haven't really been employees since Bosman. They are assets...or liabilities and are treated as such. What employee at any other company can march into his boss' office and say pay me more money, speak to this middleman to sort it out (my agent) otherwise I am off to work for one of your rivals and major competitors? You try that at work anywhere else and you're gone within 5 seconds but at Championship and Premiership football clubs it's alright dialogue and makes management consider things. All Leeds can do is fine him several weeks' wages, he'll still train with the lads and we just gotta hope by New Year Fat Sam comes in with a couple hundred grand to take him off us.

do we stil have the same scouts who saw snodders,,beckford, becchio or did they leave with big mac as alot of signings grayson has made have been pap, i know gradel was a good find but we aint exactly been bringing in the goods. gimple seems a good find but wouldnt know as he aint been given the chance yet, he chose us over top prem teams as he was assured a better chance at 1st team football, if he is that good im sure he would answer a defensive crisis prob. if we dont play him he mut up sticks and go elsewhere, john terry was 17

Believable1 Unbelievable7

John terry wasn't guaranteed first team til around 21, and then he was desailly's understudy for a bit.

Agree1 Disagree0

Speaking of defensive problems, guess who was in goal last night in a behind closed doors match against a strong Blackpool side, yes, rachubka, apparently he had a blinder keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 win, hope this doesnt tempt SG in giving him another go in first team, hell of a difference between the pressures of playing at Elland Rd before a full house, and a handful of spectators, funny game innit.

Agree4 Disagree0

Thought it was 3-1?

if somehow sg made the signings in jan and whe got us to the promise land would ken bates then stump up the cash to keep us their or just simply pocket it??? we all want the prem but we dont wanna be the whipping boys!!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

If and when we get promoted, thats the time when KB will sell up,make a whopping profit, leaving whoever buys the club to give SG the money for players, with the team we have now we must be looking at a minimum of 7 players, players who can play at the top level,as said earlier, the team we have now would get hammered in the premiership,is Grayson up to the job?,what do you guys think.

Agree2 Disagree3

We got well and truely owned in the cup against scums 3rd team, alot of players werent up to it, better players than the win at old trafford too. we do need strengthening in jan to hqave any chance

Agree2 Disagree3

Of course Grayson is up to the job! His record at the club speaks for itself. It's time some fans got real.

Agree7 Disagree2

Comparing to stums 3rd team is a bit unfair though, there were (hate to say this) some players of real quality in their team added to the fact that old red face fergie (again hate to say this), knows his stuff and tactically is exceptional. He can also get average players playing well too

Not saying we'd go up and be fine with our current squad but let's be realistic, you look at a 2nd or 3rd squad of stum, city, arsenal, spurs, chelsea and they'd give a lot of mid to lower premiership sides a good game

We'll definitely need to invest in the team if/when we go up, that I totally agree with

Great result for us at the weekend. Although i still think we are missing something. I reckon we should get back Kilgallon and Licaj then sign a quality midfielder to rotate with Howson & Clayton (player of season so far). Someone with a bit of strength and height. Any ideas anyone? MOT

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Sammy clingan for me all day he is the man we need desperatley

Agree2 Disagree2

Wish people would stop going on about clingan hes poor, look at coventrys pos, need a goal scoring midfielder, clingan doesnt know were his own goal is mot.

Agree2 Disagree3

We dont need a goalscoring midfielder at all! What games do you watch? Pugh, clayton and snoddy score enough and howson can easily score loads in a different formation.
It's precisely a defensive midfielder we need-a batty type winning, collecting and distributing just outside our box-we have been crying out for this player for probably a decade now-can't you all see? If it's clingan then go for him. Even vinny jones did a job!

Agree5 Disagree1

We need a big centre midfielder who's mobile and can tackle..like Johnson but more technically gifted

Agree2 Disagree1

Like B Jhonson yet more technical .Have you got a spare 5 million doing nothing ,cos that's watt that type off player would cost .I cant see us spending 1 million plus on a player until we are back in the promised land .But I did sense a bit off urgency in bates coments that we have to be promoted this year .I would not be surprised if we spent a bit in January say a million on 2 players 500k apiece ,Hope Grayson told him this when they had meeting last week .he deffo standing up to bates a bit ,the commentator said that he asked Simon about promotion this year and he said all owners want more but I have spent very little on players but we have spent a lot on the ground .Surely he knew it would be said during comentry live on tv maybe at last Simon is telling him to get real

Agree0 Disagree0

Seyi Olifinjana from Hull. Fallen out with the club, rots in their reserves, quality beast of a cm

All this public condemnation of AB wihout knowing the facts could turn out to be a complete waste of time if the real reason for AB refusal to play is down to some love triangle or other personal circumstances that even SG knows nothing of - or does but refuses/cannot say??

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Who's AB by the way.

Agree7 Disagree5

Well knock me over with a feather duster I forgot to put an O in - sue me!

Agree7 Disagree5

Much you got?
