Pearce? .

Agree0 Disagree0

Okay maybe Pearce too he is our most improved player this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with those 6 but surley we needa squad of 25 incase of inury/suspension so that would mean 19 new players there is no way they would gel togeter straight away, I think those 6 with some of our youngsters nd keep Brown, warnock, lees and stewart as squad players.
I know I will get slated for this but at least brown plays with abit of heart and stewart is still young and think could be effective of the bench

Agree0 Disagree0

We should keep Pearce as I think he's improving all the time. Could be a future Tony Adams type figure. I also agree with Dave, we should keep Brown. We look too lightweight when he isn't in the team. OK, he's not the greatest and can be a liability but he puts a shift in (guaranteed) and breaks play up. He also creates space and allows other midfielders to get forward. Should suit Murphy or another attacking midfielder if donut got his tactics right. You need a balance and I reckon Browny could still do a good job for us.

MM

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah if only Brown were 10 years younger.

Looks like Cellino's common sense is paying off.Carlisle now extended season ticket renewal til end of season because apparently talking to fans they didn't know the cut off date. More like the fans want know what division there playing in. Hopefully Cellino is a fans owner and we will all be happy!

A lot of names will be mentioned over the summer coming in out

One name should be considered is Samaras on a free from Celtic

A striker mainly but prob best dropping deep and running at defenders

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I could not agree more. He is quality on the ball. He has a lot of the same qualities as mccormack. When they are both on the ball they look dangerous, samaras and mccormack both have sublime first touches and great shooting and free kicks.
He oozes quality we should sign him up

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes please!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hell yes brilliant player very under rated in my opinion

Chris Commons is the Celtic player we should be aiming for. Creative, passing goalscorer with bags of energy and experience. Just what the doctor ordered for our midfield.

Think we should let the young ones have a run out against Derby last game. We have nothing to lose and it would give Dawson, Poleon, Mulhern and Walters a confidence boost. Do we have Mcdaid yet or is it an end of season thing. MOT

Hello all,

After reading the newspaper waiting to get my beautiful hair chopped off, I had read a bit about what Sean Dyche has to say on his promotion. Last season he finished 11th, and was close to the sack, and the board came out and supported him and said he is the man, and he said this foundation gave him the confidence to build a team worthy of challenging, with that confidence behind him, he was able to show what he really could do.

Relate this to McD, I understand why so many people are angry and frustrated, as am i, watching that garbage on tv the other day was slow, boring and hoofball that no one wants to see, but surely some stability, and a team around him he can do the job. just a thought from what Burnley's premier league manager had to say. I personally don't want the reveloving door to speed up, rather have McD given a season to prove himself with stability, an owner with the ambition and drive like MC and see what happens! Anyway, probably get a slagging for this!

Cheers guys

Matt

I agree that the manager revolving door is unhealthy for any club, but having witnessed at first hand some of the worst football at Elland Road ever, throw in the 9 home defeats, ever changing formations, thrashings, some dire excuses after the defeats, I'm ready for the door to spin.

Agree0 Disagree0

I read the same and have also been bombarded with all the coverage on Moyes' situation. At first I was as eager as anyone to see McDermott go due to all the reasons stated above, as well as playing almost everyone out of position. After reading everything lately I've had a change of heart.

Reading fans still hold McDermott in high regard (higher than Adkins I believe) and there is definitely a reason for that. He had 3 seasons of good performances from Reading in the championship and did as well as could be reasonably expected in the Prem with the team he had. I don't think he's a bad manager I just think this season has broken him a bit, which is why I think he's opted for some strange choices since Christmas. I'd like him to recuperate, shift some deadwood, get some new players in (which I assume he'll have practically no say in, so we're safe from any more Hunt types) and give him until Christmas to see where we stand.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't forget folks we've just got a new manager his name s Massimo celino!!
He's come out and said this is is club and e is the manager I couldn't give a flying pig who the coaches are. hopefully someone who knows how to arrange a team or a start

Surely it's a given that BMD will be sacked.
Cellino sacked him when he thought he'd bought the club originally so what will have changed his mind since then?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Maybe finding out it will cost him a million pound compensation might have something to do with it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Weve been hammered too many times, he doesn't know what his best team is or how to sort out the defence, bringing players in and playing them out of position, and his constant references to Reading really has no bearing and gets on your t-ts, the Reading team he took over was much better than us, he hasn't inproved the team at all, apparently, he's asked Cellno to judge him on his Reading stint rather than here, bizzare or what,

Ps thanks for editing my other comment ref(negative fans)

{Ed013's Note - Haha no worries, we try and keep it friendly}

Absolutely zero chance of Cellino sacking McDermott.
Put yourself in Massimo' s shoes.
There's shedloads of problems that need resolving. You know pretty much sweet fa about English football/players and you have a fall guy in place (McDermott) next season.
If Brian does a good job, your a great chairman for sticking with him.
If he does a bad job, well you never believed in him anyway, you only kept him because the fans wanted him. After all, you did sack him once already.
Meanwhile, you have a season to sell your old club, deal with legal matters, try to resolve the current problems at the club.

So you want to give MC a chance fair enough . Don't we all want stability around the team?, not changing coach/ manager every few months. His track record of changing coaches is there for everyone to see and Calgiari have gone nowhere. The type of character he appears to be, if he ha wanted to improve the stadium at Calgiari, he would have done it. Look at where we are with the changing of managers. I stand by my prediction.

Here we go a prediction for next season; BMD will undoubtedly be sacked. MC will then begin the revolving door of coach/ manager various Italian with unknown players.
Result we will be in the same position as this year. Look at Calgiari they have not gone up or down in the time of MC ownership, but they are not trading at a loss - Progress indeed!
Tewey

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Give the bloke a chance. I very much doubt we can ever be in as bad a position as we have been this season. Once this god awful season is over things will start happening I am sure

Agree0 Disagree0

So you are starting complaining even before mc has had time to settle in. I would rather be in Calgari position then the position we have been in over the last 10 years. I think the good times are coming back and we are in for one hell of a ride.

Agree0 Disagree0

OMG get a life, Massimo is what this club need, what we don't want are "Negative Fans"!!

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason Cagliari are always mid table is because its not financially viable to pump millions in to compete with teams like Juve and Rome when you have a ground that holds 5,000. Massimo has been trying for years to get authorities to let him build new stadium. That's why he has come to Leeds to be up there with the big clubs. can't understand anyone moaning at this point when he has already put millions into the club and not even set his plans out yet. Looking forward to the premiership MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Op I think u will find that under Massimo Cagliari has gone from the bottom tier to the top, and are a very well run club in a top European league. I would happily settle for that. Wondered how long it would take for certain fans start getting in his back, did think it would take longer tho. Why on earth would you start complaining already when he's had no chance to do anything

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely no point in sacking Brian. just reassess his role. He knows this league but he needs help from those around him and a long term plan. Jibes about Nogoal Hunt aren't helpful.
Moyes meanwhile realises his goal of getting Everton higher than Man U.Feel sorry for the guy, he looks like a ghost.Hiring planes to get rid of a manager in 7th place in the Prem says a lot about their fans. Not a single McDermott out shout at our games says a lot about ours.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What's the point of reassessing his role? MC wants a coach, the one role BMD has shown he is incapable of doing!

Agree0 Disagree0

I can think of a million reasons

Agree0 Disagree0

Dr T, although I applaud your loyality to BMcD I question your logic. Yes the manager has had a tough time this season through not being given the resources he was clearly promised when he took the job, however lack of finance has nothing to do with poor selection and tactics deployed. The Forest game was a classic example of the poor judgement displayed by Brian for the past 5 months. He had a winning team and formation from the Blackpool and Barnsley games, an injury to Zaliuskas required a tweek to the personnel in the same formation but no! Our tactically astute manager wants to prove us all wrong regarding Hunt and Austin therefore he changes the formation (again) to accomodate these two. He moves Murphy back into a defensive midfield role (despite the fact he had his best games in the attacking role) to allow Austin to play in a position he is not suited to. He puts Hunt up front then directs the team to continue to pump high balls into him against two of the tallest centre halfs in the division. You can give this man all the help in the world but he is clearly pig headed which will be further demonstrated when Kebe makes an appearance for the final two games of the season. If Cellino gives this person a significant transfer fund next season it will be wasted on Reading old boys such as Matt Mills and Jobi McNuff. I accept the barriers that BMcD has had to overcome but I will not accept that he has no responsibility for the crappy football that has been on display at Elland Road this season. I tend to think I am not in the minority here.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with you notts but look at Sean Dyche at the end of last season he looked like getting the chop and now?
Give BMD till Xmas, let's see what his teams playing like and listen to his excuses are then.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to agree with NottsWhite. BMcD this season tactically has been woeful. Connor Wickham on the wing? Austin on the wing? Kebe & Stewart on the wing :) and they were wingers. He has had a tough time, but so did his predecessors. I don't want a new manager every season, just the next one.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not the wing that bothered me its the back four.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said NottsWhite. McDermott clearly isn't a manager for the 'long term' or Reading would have kept him. Also, McDermott just isn't a leader and isn't able to inspire the team. The only thing I worry is that we'll get an Italian in who can't speak a word of English and knows nothing of this league, or God forbid, Di Canio (please no!). I would like Richard Naylor to get the job and build the club from the bottom up, starting with the purchase of Elland Road and Thorpe Arch and turning the academy into Category 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Brian will be owed 1milliom. a good scout and a good man

Agree0 Disagree0

Dr T, is your justification for keeping BMcD is that he will be owed 1 million if he is sacked? If that is the case then sure let's keep him, let's suffer another season of poor performances and excuses.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2014 08:16:16
Does BMD really think he'll be at Leeds next season: Yes, does BMD really think he's had a good season: yes, Does BMD believe his signings i.e. Hunt and Kebe will come goos: Yes, and is he willing to spend millions more on players and subject the fans to even more appalling football, oh yes. the man is totally deluded. Mr C please put us out of our misery, i'm getting nervous about next season already!

Agree with sg90. No point giving mcc a new contract. We have him for 3 years anyway and not sure he can cut it in top flight. Look at contract after promotion. See if he is worth keeping after 6 months in prem! Why pay him more. He is on a good screw its just others are overpaid.

Saw earlier on here someone had the same thoughts as me about who will replace BM if he goes.Steve Clarke anyone?? Fits the "coach" mould perfectly and is highly rated.mourinho said he's one of the best coaches and tacticians he's worked with and players love him.by far my preference IF Brian Mc is booted. what's everyone's thoughts?

al1977

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Steve Clarke would be a fantastic choice as coach, just make sure someone else signs the players. He did a great job for the Baggies but panicked when he realised Lakaku was not signing on transfer deadline day and wasted 12m on Anichibe and Sessignon
