bad day for the resident, alcoholic sister in law stalking fashionsta as I've been with my youngest in hospital all day (suspected appendicitis) but she is OK, thank God.

On the footballing front, would have taken a draw all day long but perhaps we should've won. Not blaming Woody for penalty miss as the keeper made a good save.

Edged my bet with a draw after the jinx that is Bermo decided he was backing us. We were never going to win after that!

Sleep tight peeps, two more wins and a top ten finish.

Marching on with skinny Stevie.

DTP, UTW - where are you Vidmeister?

I think Evans has done enough to stay and have a crack at getting us up next season and I am calling on fellow posters on this site to let Massimo know that we want him to stay . So next home game we chant for the pieman our very own big Steve.

Think you are right wex. He's done alright, 6.5/ 10 i'd say.
But the main reason i'd like him to stay is God only knows who MC would replace him with! I've said it before, he seems to pick managers on a whim. Evans' buys have been good and if given sufficient funds maybe he can deliver on his promise of promotion. Maybe.

23 Apr 2016 21:39:12
Yeah why not, give him a go.

I've been on the fence pondering this one for a while but now i'm thinking, give him a go. He does seem to talk too much at times but then everything to do with Leeds is blown out of proportion anyway. I think with a few more of his players, we could have a decent shout.

I've long been of the opinion that skinny Stevie should be given a decent crack at the job.

One thing I really admire about this guy is how much he respects our great club. Might be to win people over but I like the cut of his jib.

If we manage two wins from our last two, it would be a half decent season and something to build on. Might also convince some of the young guns to stay put.

Evans seems to have won over the majority of fans, if Cellino does get rid of him, he must bring someone in who is a step up in class. Replace him with someone we have to Google and there could be trouble. The real reason I would like Evans to stay is getting rid would send the wrong message to the players. What does it say to any new coach when the players believe they will out stay him and others. Murphy, hardly the most prolific player this season has out seen all of Cellino's managers.

You change your tune. Thought you loved Rosler and want him back?

Great idea although we have one disadvantage, Master bates built a load of exec boxes in east stand, just before he fluked off, leaving us saddled again with debt renovating a ground we don't own. Like building a loft conversion on your council house, you just wouldn't do it.
Also any new ground of the proportions suggested will be north of 150/ 200mill mark.
Also where would you put it. Transport links/ congestion.
Getting planning permission for new stadia is by no means straight forward and would undoubtedly be faced with a mountain of opposition from nimbys.
Only realistic option is the but back if/ when MC/ GFH can agree the purchase together. i. e., ain't going to happen.

Georgy boy, I still believe Rosler wasnt given the time needed.

Loser was an awful coach obsessed with 433 even if it meant playing players out of position. It has proven correct to get rid of him. If he gets another job he will do well to be as high as league 1. Evans has his faults but is significantly superior.

Reading Steve Evans after match comments regarding discussing his future with Cellino, is it just me or is he getting a bit cocky!

His LUFC tenure in perspective given our owner is reaching Wenger proportions. I think he's entitled to be a little confident.

Huge games at Hillsborough next week then the Riverside the week after. Championship title looking as tight as Papa Smurf pockets.

A possibly controversial post coming.

Does anyone know how much it would cost to build a modern 35k all seater stadium nowadays?
Is it more cost effective to build a new one than pay the rent and the buy back price?
Let's face it E. R. Has history, but we are in a different era now. The place is falling to pieces and even if we buy it back it will cost a fortune to redevelop!

23 Apr 2016 20:57:55
If you going to build new stadium might as well construct double that capacity for when we get back into the big time. Not as if we couldn't fill those seats when we back in PL and CL.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Apr 2016 21:57:03
Bit optimistic Georgy boy. 70,000 is a lot of seats to fill.
Even in our heydays we didn't always fill a 40,000 ER. However, I agree 35k is way to small if we were to build a new stadium.
Good question from Ben though. Personally I would have no qualms on a brand new home.

yes at least 50000.

23 Apr 2016 23:43:29
Guys
People forget Leeds population is basically a million. We are the only football club in this city. A thriving PL side will see the attendances increase and there's no reason why we couldn't compete with the big boys. Would be good for concerts too. I'd certainly build to 65000 if you are going to build a new one.

We had a vote on whether to leave ER during the Risdale era it was massively out voted.

24 Apr 2016 10:40:58
Reading a Guardian article from 2001 it says there was a fans vote which came out 87% in favour of a new stadium. Although under 50% of ballot papers were returned.

24 Apr 2016 16:26:46
Think the idea was to move to a 50,000 built on the outskirts of Leeds can you imagine the mess if they started an half built stadium and ER Buildozed and the debts we had.

And other favourite Chris Wood? Scores a tap in; misses a penalty and then a sitter doesn't get any better. £3 million? Don't think so.

Harsh Hess, very harsh.
Wood scored a cracking goal I thought, hardly a tap in.
Even Messi misses penalties.

Bamba/ Cooper anyone? They always concede. Been saying it since the start. No surprise. For me they the keystone cops without the numbers. They did their best to throw away the Wolves game and they are at it again at Hull.

Two central defenders required next season! Sell the current ones and invest in pace, the ability to read a game, tackle without going to ground all the time ,head the ball and then pass the ball to our player makers! Simple!

I'm following MM doing LU to win today (haven't bet on my team for a long time, heart ruling my head and can't turn down 7/ 1) in a trixie with Newcastle 5/ 1 and Bolton 9/ 1. Yes, you read it correctly, newc and bolton.
Newc need to win and Liverpool are due a bad result. Bolton played well last week against Midds guess they're more relaxed now after relation is confirmed and Cardiff on a bad run.
Close to £1500 if they all come in from a £10 stake.

Seen the article on the daily bra website also. Take it with a pinch of salt, I though Murphy was reported to be on £15k per week.
Tabloids have probably got together with some agents to engineer their players exit from ER.

It was from a game they took it from, so most likely not real.
