Foristieri - Maybe the management know something I don't but how is a strike rate of 1 in 4 (hardly prolific) better than what we have already. Surely if we are willing to pay big money then surely we should be looking at MIN 20 goals a season player.
The other question I have is; Should that type of money be better spent in more needy areas?

More of an attacking midfielder I think, and the creative player we lack to unlock a defence.Watford fans not keen to loose him but some doubts about his consistency. But for me a great acquisition.

think foristieri is more about what he brings to a game other than just goals think he would bring quality to m and be like for like replacement for sam bryam playing as a winger. So it is needed if SB goes. also think cb and maybe rb cover is needed

Leodis, what 20+ a season goal scorers are available for 3 million?

I believe management see him as a withdrawn striker or attacking midfielder. A vital link player. This is a priority position along with right winger (Sam will go) and central defense (huge priority).

I wouldn't telephone Pearson for a chat this week. Don't think he has time for anything but exciting transfers.

Whats with this "20 goal a season" striker obsession most fans have. Any striker, with the correct service is a 20 goal striker.

You can't neccessary buy one in. Fulham paid that one, with 11million.

Anti and WoodS will score goals and I will happily accept 15 off each if dallas, mowatt (9 goal midfielder) and some of the others chip in.

Initially I was trying to see the point of Foriesteir, thinking we had enough striking options , but looking at the squad, we have no other, change a game type, ptions up front.

WoodS is our big man upfront. Erwin cover. Anti, pacey firecracker. Foresteri will guve cover and competition.
I don't rate Doukara, squad player at best and then we have the youth squad.

I do however think we would be better spending best part of 4mil on another winger and another def/mid and loaning a striker in. But still, I do think he has something to offer. Just hope the price tag justifies it.

quick response to a few people saying they saw a different game to me etc. I do agree with everyone and think I didn't explain my post that well.

I don't think we played great, we had a lot of the ball and didn't force enough saves from the keeper, we gave the ball away a lot and seemed a bit stop/start and not very flowing

i did think bryam was dominating in air and won most things, also covered well and 1st touch was good. I did think phillips after dodgy start grew into game and looks great prospect

what pleases me most is the game plan and potential. under hock and darko I was calling for sacking after 90 minutes as from what I saw we had no game plan and it was poor.

what I seen under uwe is a plan and potential to grow and get better just not clicking at the moment. of course results matter but patterns of play game plans and potential also show hope not doom and gloom. I think things will get better under uwe and not worse which has made me happy, dispite result and most of the performance if that makes sense?

Sorry BW you and I saw a different game yours through the bottom of a glass mine through my glasses and sat in the east stand. Byram looked like a guy who was waiting for the call to tell him he was going to the premiership. Passed the ball back more than forward and didn't want to get involved in too many tackles for fear of getting injured. For me Phillips didn't play we'll was surprised he was selected over Mowatt or Murphy with him in the side the midfield had two defensive players which meant we didn't get players forward to support the knock downs from Wood and reduced our threat on their goal. With 4 points from as many games I don't think we can complain and none of the other teams are striding away at the top of the league but we need to start putting some wins together because we won't make the play offs by just coming away from games with single points

You are so right EKW. Can you say head turned/heart no longer in it? My guess is Sam will be a Magpie or Mackem very soon.

George that is certainly a more eloquent way of putting it but I am sure that we both agree either way Sam will be leaving before the transfer window closes

EKW, agreed. He will leave this window. The fee will be non disclosed as usual but here's hoping we get close to 5 million for him.

Hi all,

firstly sorry speedy I have been very busy with my new play and filming (you will all see me soon on new rugby advert you lucky people) but glad to see you missed me.

watched the game yesterday although in the pub so bit far away (well for my eyes) and few to drink so this post may be well off the mark.

Most importantly either ant or dallas have to shave beard as I can not tell them apart when watching from more than three yards away. this is rude and confusing and must be fixed. while on the subject of facial hair I do not like the look of phillips, great player in makeing but barnet and facial hair make him look like a homeless person from the 60's again sort it out.

My feelings are mixed about game, we had a lot of ball but didn't look like scoring, we defended well but did look like conceeding (although the goal we did conceed was wonder goal so don't think we can complain and five keepers would not of stopped it)

On the positive defended well and both center halves looks great on the ball and can play and pass (cooper over bellendshi any day) Bryam looked real class best I have seen him play and position plays to his strenghts. wood looks full of goals and midfield looks great and full of idea and danger. ant for me is prem class. then we have our amazing youth system mowatt (altough I thought he was pony yesterday) cook, taylor, bryam and now phillips who looks class as well so lots of good things

yes we only drew, yes we did not play great but I think it is more about gelling rather than bad system of patterns of play (problmes I had with darko and hock) so think things will get better given time. We are all dissapointed to draw opening games but positive is it means what we saw we think we should of won, rather than being greatful for the draw. Still feel promotion is on

bryam not signing is a shame, I have been hyper critical of him but yesterday he showed class so think we should sell and get money rather than lose him. think he is worth 8 but happy with 5 due to lack of contract. maybe five with season long loan option? also with the money we could bring in two three good players. I would suggest a winger and center back with maybe a right back for cover.

i know yesterday wasnt great but I am full of optimisim not dread. MOT

When are you sacking the wife & marrying Lucy bw?!

Your spelling improved with that hiatus bermo. I believe the next 9 days or so could determine whether we are promoted this season. That's how optimistic I am and how close we are to having a good side.

spelling is still very hit and miss, like our potential season. and I am elbowing the wife for lucy as soon as he loses the beard, that said if the wife loses her beard I might stick with her

Mr Berm White, so how many pints did you have?

was their on half way as always, I think we were only team trying to win but we didn't create that much.

I agree re defence cooper/Bamba with Taylor and Berardi was my pick and looked solid, feel Taylor/Berardi could push fwd more, in first half poor old Dallas hardly had a pass off own defence but it looks a good unit.

Up front Ant/wood no brainier at mo, wood holds ball up well, nice close control, Ant will always be a threat if he gets the ball.
Yesterday have to say Sam B was poor really, made very little impact apart from odd header, was not as strong as in the Burnley game and was poor against BCity as well.
So perhaps he is thinking of going who knows.
Poor kelvin had a real mare at start of the game, it effected him and I would have taken him off at half time.
Adeyemi does a great job, very effective moves around well and provides good cover for defence.
we did lack creativity in midfield yesterday, Mowatt improved this when he came on and looked refreshed.

our friend Silvestri has learnt to pass it to our team at last so that was an improvement, SW provided no crosses so can't say if he has learnt to catch yet.

Over all we are looking a solid unit with good potential, yes yesterday we should have won but never quite did enough to really say we was unlucky, but compared to last few years this team has potential, needs 1 or 2 more quality types and I think a top 6 is not out of question.

That guy from Watford would be a great signing for us as would be that Dutch winger, get them and you would have to feel very positive in my opinion, feeling positive and think we will get something at Derby even if not a win.

From what I have seen so far I am a little more optimistic than last season, having said that I am really not confident with the 4 3 3 formation we are trying to play. We look disjointed and like headless chickens at times. We have not found the right combination of midfield players who have a notion of what their role is and the roles of those around them. 4 4 2 for me, the team is almost wanting to play in that formation naturally. Antilucy playing off Wood up front two wide men playmaker and ball winner in the middle. We need some additions to the squad but we a re not a million miles away with what we have just the right combo of midfielders in the right formation. Would like to see what Erwin can do. J Barton or similar, right/left winger (think Doukara is not good enough for this league)would like another experienced center half. I was concerned that Taylor was a bit of a light weight but he was excellent against the wendies.

You only think Doukara is not good enough. Try know.

Hopefully we get Limbombe Forestieri and Moore. This will all but spell the end for Doukara Wooton and of course Ajose.

Can see Sam being sold in next 8 days.
