Sorry to have a pop but I find it amazing how quiet it is on here after a win. Lose. This thing goes crazy with anti Leeds posts
Just saying.

not sure what you mean by quiet, just read through three pages of posts so plenty been said. Think most of us are quietly confident but we have to thank other teams around us for dropping points for us holding second. Think we are well placed and we will do well in March and looking at upcoming games we are better placed than last season. Two wins does not make everything perfect, we should win all our home games, or at least not lose. If we end this month 5 points clear of third think we will double that by end of march, but still think Bam not good enough and my mate Bubs is a stubborn old bugger.

yeah been out all weekend celebrating the football and boxing, nothing pleases me more than a scrappy 1-0 win, i honestly prefer it to a 4-0 win as think it shows more character.

looking at all games upto saturday. two wins for us will def increase the gap. hard games for the others .

Believable1 Unbelievable0

23 Feb 2020 22:05:51
Yes 2 wins would hopefully increase the gap, as you say, but no games are easy in this division - need to get the wins first before counting on any gap. Talking of which - we've yet to play 5 of the bottom 7 at home. If Baggies, Brentford, Fulham or Forest had those all to come, we'd probably be thinking they had 15 points in the bag (despite both Fulham and Forest being turned over at home by Barnsley and Charlton respectively in the last week or so) but because it's us, I can't help seeing a minefield of banana skins - if you know what I mean.

Not a great game or performance but frankly right now who cares just take the 3 points and on to the next game. Reading were here to nick anything they could a point or three and like the majority of teams that come to Elland Road were well versed in trying to interrupt our flowing style by taking ages over thrown ins and goal kicks and making every foul seem like a leg breaker only to get up almost immediately the ref stopped the game.
Everyone was a 6 out of 10 yesterday in my opinion expect Bamford who was poor.
In his defence thought having Harrison and Costa as your main suppliers then when exactly do you make a run? Twice yesterday Bamford was on his heels instead of getting across in front of the first defender at the near post. But the amount of times both Harrison and Costa have chances to cross yet cut back inside or try to gain an extra yard and end up either losing the ball or recycling the move is so frustrating and Bamford must wonder when he should make a run.
Thought the referee was decent.

I think they used us to get him fit under bielsa and maybe always had the intention of bringing him back for the second half of the season.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Feb 2020 20:17:51
I noticed him standing watching play a couple of times! Don’t think his work rate is great! Maybe that’s why he wasn’t a great fit for us! Think he will go on to be good, just not what we needed at the time!

Massive 3 points yesterday! Again played well and our form seems to be turning at the right stage of the season! Pleased with pablos performance, Dallas was superb Solid, dependable such a pro and will easily cut it in the prem!

Huge save from Kiko at the end and another clean sheet will really lift him, like some of say posh boy just needs to hit the onion bag, maybe going to the smoggies on wed will bring out the animal in him! MM looked out for you in the Scarborough after 12 but not a prestine shell suit to be found my friend unfortunately! MOT brothers.

Just reading a article online and there is a picture of a street in Madrid called, wait for it!

"Calle de Ascension Bielsa"

Cobbling together some broken Spanglish,
could this be.

"Street for Bielsa Going Up"

Is this a sign, can we start to believe.

Is this the upturn in Pablo’s season? I sincerely hope so. I think he would admit it’s not been his best season for us but if we now get the Pablo Hernandez we all know and love for the remaining games he will be the man who will guide us to glory.

Bit of a scrappy game at times yesterday but a great three points. Usual Leeds stuff - dominated possession, squandered lots of chances with Bamford and Costa being the main culprits- and could have dropped two points at the end. Bamford is the nominated striker but isn't scoring and should take his fair share of criticism. I have not been a fan of his as a striker and there have been calls for him to be dropped. I don't agree. Who would take his place> Augustin is clearly not fit and over weight. He might come into contention for the last half dozen games - maybe not till next season. Roberts is not as good as Bamford in any way. And there is no one else. Bamford's hold up play is very good and we create more chances when he plays. Pity he can't score but then again who can? Law of averages means he is bound to get one or two soon.

Radz and orta and Bielsa at fault again when we needed impact transfers in January we got a player who wasn't fit for 90min and another who can't make the bench. Now we are still dependent on bam and Costa. Heres hoping we get away with it.

Indeed Hess . by default Bambam starts next game as no better replacement available it seems

. hopefully Bambam scores against Boro . and goes one scoring run .

Ah go on I’ll say it

I like Bamford.

So does Bielsa

In an ideal world we’d still have Roofe. He was first choice and Bam the back up. We don’t.

Bamford has carried the load pretty much all season, Eddie wasn’t the right sort of player to start

You can’t just magic better players up, sometimes you have to wait. Especially with the budget restraints we operate under

We got big Kev and that’s a bit of a coup for a championship club. He’s got great potential, he’s excited at the project. Sometimes with a signing you need to look 6-12 months down the line. You should be excited at the project too

Back to bam bam

I’ll refer you to the words of the great Gary Speed

Give your best, that’s all you can do

According to a reporter “ Leeds played like men possessed “ yesterday

I’ll take that for the next 12 games and back anyone in a Leeds shirt 100%

If Bambam contributes to a promotion winning season he should be recognised accordingly.

Didn't see any of you 'orrible lot yesterday in the Scabby Arms, but met a load of piss heads from Norway on a football tour. Unfortunately for them they're going to the theatre of prawn sandwiches tomorrow, but I hope that doesn't ruin their weekend too much.

Ground out another decent win yesterday. We weren't as convincing as Bristol in my opinion, but a win is a win and Reading didn't pose much threat apart from a few good counter attacks, but with no end product.

Our play was sloppy in the first half, but we tended to overplay/ pick the wrong pass/ overhit the final ball, but the conditions first half playing into the wind weren't really helping. We are used to teams coming to ER, sitting very deep and playing on the counter.

Reading had a decent game plan to be fair to them but we stuck with it, didn't panic and got a deserved win. Great to see the Yorkshire Pirlo back to his best with couple of great crunching tackles flying in. Pleased his injury is not serious as he's irreplaceable in his position. Onwards!

Up the Whites. you know the rest!
