Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

I'm on MC's side but it's getting annoying that it takes us weeks to negotiate with relatively unknown players it's not long until the season begins and I feel that the squad should have been nearer to completion by now.

Agreed SD. I think we will still get Viviani but after him we need another central defender, a striker and a winger. Hudson, Wood and Gradel would be fine with me. Maybe also consider Burke.

SDLUFC
I totally agree and I get upset every time someone drops off our shopping list.
The way I look at it now is, if they didn't want to come or the wages were too low then good ridence. We've had the high earners screwing us for long enough, let's get passion back on our turf and pay the wages when we get where we belong :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Theres no point in getting excited at all about names been linked.
if athletico, roma or even leicester want one of these so called starlets from italy they will get them.
why is vivani taking so long? because he has other people sniffing.
15 days to go. it could be a last min nile ranger and a tutti frutti from italy.
i don't know what's going on behind scenes but il be a bot more optimistic when I see 4 or 5 mill spent on a striker who can score.
i mean hunt/morrison/poleon. pathetic

At Corby. 1 all at half time. We may have woken up. mmm

This could be a pivotal moment. If Viviali is one of our 'star' recruits and drops out at the last minute because he can't see the result at Mansfield as a work in progress and is sceptical about Cellino's expertise and ambition not only will we lose him but perhaps some of the others. Cellino needs to bring in quality fast to show the potential. We have Pearce, Smith, Austin, Byron, Murphy(still something to prove) and perhaps Mowatt and Lees from the original squad who could do a job. We have a new keeper, right back and midfield (x2 is Viviali arrives). That's eight with two possibles. We are desperately needing a quality centre half and goal scorer. That's ten. Then it becomes a question of what system you play. With the current/proposed group you would need a further left back attacking midfield and pace out wide. To my reckoning to put out a team and a decent bench to convince possible targets we still need another five players who would need to be able to make a difference. A tall order given the time available but who knows what possible. New recruits need to know there is something here that is worthwhile. Down to you Mr. C and Mr. S

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Austin? he should have been one of the first to be made available for transfer.

Any1 think it would be worth tryin Austin at centre half with Pearce?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope you're joking about Austin & Lees. Get rid asap, completely useless.
keep from last ssn
Byram, Murphy, Pearce, Smith, Mowatt. Add to that Cook, Taylor, Dawson, Italians Bianchi, Silvestri look good imo.
Maybe keep White as squad player, & back up keeper which makes 12. Possibly promote 1 or 2 other academy lads in if needed. Work from there & build around them. Bin the rest

Agree0 Disagree0

Worth a try GW he would just have to learn to be careful in the area

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin was ok playing just in front of the back four - just defending and breaking up play. Letting have delusions about being creative and scoring was the big mistake. I'm all for giving the youngsters a chance gradually in a stable team. Expecting them to make up for our current shortcomings in the championship could ruin their futures. As for White said it for along time now - cannot play in midfield as he cannot use his pace properly, cannot cross consistently and runs into blind alleys. Too lightweight and poor positional sense for full back which is a pity as it was his only real chance. i'm afraid White should have gone way back.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is a decent shout for Austin to play CB, again agree that he had his best games for Leeds sat in front of back 4 breaking up play i.e. vs Wolves 2 seasons ago. As for White, he is never going to improve and should be moved on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Slough
Only my opinion but if we are planning for premiership football then smith would get 1 more season for me, this to let him score a few goals, thus raising his price tag in the shop window.
He's div1 or bottom half of championship striker at best mate. Hopefully he can be in the right place at the right time this season ;)

Austin is awesome going forward powerful and if he only knew he had powerful shot he should shoot more often

Agree0 Disagree0

Im flabbergasted by some posts.
looking good with dawson, bianchi and some kids. really?
look at the 2 teams put out for mansfield.they looked absolutely p poor.we were useless last season and we have sold our best player.
we need 5 0r 6 more players in.not cellinos poundland stretcher prospects.we need quality, proven, championship players.
4 to 1 on relegation looks a great bet if we don't recruit.
sorry but be realistic.it looks totally poor.
we will save bundles of money, we will be financially stablw which is great but how many of you are going to turn up every week home and away to see what we did last year?
die hards like me its proving difficult.
i mean last season v brighton was rocking.are we going to see that again longterm.and what about leeds longterm.the next generation of fans.
anyway il be there to support and there is time still to prove us wrong and get players in but not convinced at all

Agree0 Disagree0

Shrews
Qaulity proven champs players like ;--
Hunt
Morrison
Kebe
Stewart
Kenny
Just to name a few who WON promotion out of this league.
More money wasted that's why WE NEARLY went into admin in april. Weve been trying that old chestnut for the last 15yrs and ITS NOT worked.

MC given time will produce qaulity young players like HE DID at Calgari but the frustrated fans who cannot wait one season will ruin it yet again.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with most of these posts, mostly saying same thing. We have a UK nucleus of maybe 5-6 players, Bianchi & goalkeeper look ok but that's it without using academy players. This Doukara is another Poleon with no end product & a goal now & then.
We need new CBs, Creative MFr, a quality CF or even 2 as Smith aside we have no attackers at all. I think weneed some real quality now not the cheap B grade ital players MC has brought in. There is some really good UK talent about right now & boy do we need it

£36 In the kop for people who turn up on the day for category A games, looks like attendances will stay in the low 20,000 plus, a lot of people through working commitments and various other reasons can't commit until the day of the game many of these fans will no longer bother, who thinks up these crazy price plans?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ridiculous considering were not going for promotion. Shold charge £28 max and fill the ground and see if we can turn ER into a fortress. Might see us up like it did in league one

i feel the hock could win his first 10 games and still nobody would like him but that besides the point, he's on borrowed time as it is, his job was to come in and prepare fitness going into new season and carbone will takeover!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Id marry him if we won our first 10 games

Sorry mitch. but I suspect you're going to remain a bachelor.

Hockadoodledoo didn't hammer the lads for losing to a Div 4 side. nope. it's "I take some positives " mullarky. and there's only 2 1/2 weeks till season starts. and we haven't got the systems to breakdown and beat M-Town.

If he wins 10. then you'll be fighting me for a trip up the alter after I've already had a 5 week diet of millinery.

The issue. no lead striker replacement (by the way you need 2!). defensive confusion. a lack of systemic play. and a squad wondering who is turning up next week.

Am not panicking. but a rough ride is expected. and hockadock still has a lot to prove.

Best of luck to the lad.

Toronto
Said it before I will say it again if anyone didn't read it.

Spurs spent over £100,000,000 last year in 2 months and what a waste of money, they won nothing and looked worse for spending all that money (you can't buy a team)

Lets give MC and his new ideas at least a season to see where he's going PLEASE!

Agree0 Disagree0

Toronto, Although I agree things sounded awful at Mansfield (I wasn't there but friends were) I'd have been very surprised if DH had slagged the team off to the public afterwards. Hopefully those who deserved it will have got it in the changing room afterwards.

Just been to t/p with kids and I am sure I seen Becchio going in? Not 100% it was him but surely he will be too rusty now

Surely making a move for Keith Andrews would be worth looking at? Experienced midfielder on a free transfer? Also make a change from somebody Italian

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He doesn't want to sign for leeds, as he doesn't like us. He said exactly that when grayson and warnock both tried signing him. Best not waste our time and effort

Mornin siblings. got to laugh, one pre season defeat and its tragedy! Every game is informative win lose or draw and we are in a state of flux, nowhere near the finished article. We are not going to gel straight away and start playing pretty football, but it will improve. Keep the faith, bin the 7/2 for relegation and support our lads, whoever plays.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

WELL SAID VID

I think some people see us getting promoted this year, transformation takes time and time is needed as most of us can see.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is easy to get carried away and think all the new signings will jell instantly and we are going to finish in the top 2. However we need to keep grounded. MC has said 2yrs to prem. We are not ready this year not only in football but in economic terms such as merchandising for the PL. For me a position of 6-10 would be a great job done with a slight possibility of the playoffs. No need to aim for PL this year let's just keep our feet on the ground.

Agree0 Disagree0

Quick, sack the manager sorry COACH, bring in 4 wingers, 2 20 goal strikers a four pack and a steak and kidney pie.

Yes, I keep harping on about last years criticisms and issues but I just want to remind everyone how some fans were back then and no matter what anyone says we are in a far better place this season.

Time is what we need and time is what we have. We have an owner who has the best interests of the club at heart, as well as his own. He understands that if we do well, he will do well (seeing as we have already had some buy outs submitted, rumours of course).

Personally I can't wait for the season to start and see what system we will play and how the players will gel. No matter what happens, we should be backing the manager, sorry COACH and the players and MC.

Can we quit with the panicking please.

Our 16-0 win was irrelevant, our 2-0 win was irrelevant and our 2-0 loss last night is also irrelevant at this stage.

Cellino has said there will be another 5-6 players coming in, so we are nowhere near complete as a squad or i'd imagine as a starting 11 either.

I'd still be looking at getting rid of 1 or 2 but that will depend on who we bring in I guess.

We as fans though need to remain positive, this negativity is helping no one, especially not the players, yes we pay good money to go and watch our team but if all you want to do is sling negativity around you may as well not be turning up.

Mansfield was a pre season friendly to gain fitness and start building some understanding within the team. Also whilst trying to win (it is a game and that's what you do) its not imperative and you you don't want to pick up any unnecessary injuries by doing too much too soon or making risky challenges. In the past we have done well in the pre season and gone on to be poor throughout the season. I've seen teams lose all their pre season games and get promoted. Don't read too much into it. The job's not done yet - not even close. Best to wait and see. Remember last season and its clear there was a massive job to be done. Rome wasn't built in a day and Leeds won't be either.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree pre season means nothing just to get fitness levels it is the first match we are building up to few new players still to come in. don't think we will go up this season.A season to get things right off the field and on it.

Think it's apparent that we still lack the players to provide width/penetration, a trio in midfield of Viviani, Murphy & Bianchi with two wingers brought in and Smith up top could yield very good results! Would be even better if we brought in a mobile forward like Chris Wood!

I'm over in Rome at the moment visiting my girlfriend and her family. Spoke to her uncle, who is a roma fan, and asked him about this vivianni guy (this is all under translation through my girlfriend). He had a lot of praise for him even though my girlfriend who isn't interested in football just said "yes, very good player".
He also said it will only be a loan as Roma musnt sell him.
Sounds like we have a gem. hopefully.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed003's Note - ip addy confirms yorkie is in Rome, not that I doubted it ;) }

I was doubting myself while writing it ha.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently its a loan with view of permanent. Some sources are claiming we are buying him outright.
