Mystery solved. Interview now on OS with Darko and yes he does speak English as one of his 5 languages. All the best Dark Destroyer. Onwards and upwards. This time next year we'll be.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Feeling happy it was Nicola Salerno that found him. Hope he is as good as his other signings.

£30 on at 40-1 to win the league. Collect winnings in May!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we continue with the same form then top 6 this season. Like your optimism though, we're heading in the right direction massive thanks to NR & MC.
I'm tempted by doukara 50/1 or Auntie Lucy 40/1 for top scorer in the championship this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Degsy, you just lost 300 quid
You can get 50 to 1

If l'm picking up 1200 in May there will still be a pint in it for you Speedy!

I put a tenner on promotion at 10/1 back in August and a tenner on top 12 back in pre season.

Fabulous interview given by Cellino re-assuring fans of NR continued involvement in first team affairs alongside and with Darko. We are going to be successful again. MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yea, very reassuring. Don't feel as worried now.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's not what it says on OS. It Says Redfearn has returned to his role as Academy Manager due to new coach bringing in an assistant.

60, that's the official position but in practice behind the scenes NR will surely have an involvement per MC interview. It's about playing well and winning games as a team. They won't jeopardize that. Think of this too. What a ready made replacement we have in reserve if things don't work out.

Some facts for digestion. 1. We are in the best shape we have been in for a decade and more. 2. Financially we are on a sound footing with most of the debt gone and the remainder being sorted over a short period at manageable rates. 3. We have a new attack minded coach and a class act ( Redders )bringing the youth through which also looks very promising. All this brought about by one man, Cellinio who is more of a football man then anyone at the Fa or amongst all the other club owners. He has a 25 year apprenticeship behind him, ( Alex Ferguson like experience ) knows how to buy and sell players ( 11 mil for badge kisser ) and the promised purchase of ER. He hasn't put a foot wrong since he came. What about the Hock I hear you say. My feeling was that that was deliberate, a ploy, some one cheap to get the players fit, a stop gap until the right man was available. From the cash, time and effort MC has put into our club, there is only one logical conclusion to draw and that is that he has the best interests of Leeds United at heart. He will get us back to the prem and when we are there something tells me he will be shrewd enough not only to keep us there but put us back were we belong. Don't be shocked if he sells a player or two along the way, just trust that he has his eyes on better ones. So support MC, protect him against the grey men of the FA and fill the ground as often as possible. Mot.

Hope I'm not sensing a problem with Darko appointment. Why no news yet and why have bookies shortened the odds of several other candidates?

Oh MC must have heard me. on ssn that he's signing tomorrow. Still slightly odd imo

Has Phil Nevil!e got nothing better to do? He can't even get Milanic's credentials right.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He needs to get out more!

23 Sep 2014 13:54:15
Well correct me if I'm wrong, but the vast majority of us wanted MC to get rid of the Hock - he did that. Put Redders in temporary charge - he did that. Not give Redders the job permanently because we value his work so much with the academy - he's done that. Bring in a recognised (hopefully) quality coach and not some non league, untried, ex player or manager - he's done that too!!!
Guess I shouldn't be surprised that some people are still complaining - guess they wanted Jose Mourinho!!

Cant wait to see the whiners and whingers come out of the woodwork when we have our next defeat.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I for one will not be complaining. A very shrewd appointment I M O.We may well have some bad results ahead but this is a different team, different mentality, different owner, a new start and I`m very excited!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Looking forward to having a decent coach and some stability within the club, just seen the price of Norwich away, now that is worth complaining about.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed, £40 is scandalous! Especially as you have petrol money or £26 for the coach

not that excited about darko he plays a flat back 4 does not change tactics throughout the game always long balls under redfern we played very good exciting football if things are going against us in a game he would change it to get a win eg bornmouth I would have given him the job played 4 won 3 drawn 1. I would not have got rid of naylor and would have promoted him from the u18s where he did a fantastic job to the u21s

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry belly your wrong buddy you need to do a bit of research yourself instead of reading a crap blog from a Sturm fan. Read about how he played at Moribar or what Moribar did before he arrived, read about how he built the team on youth and attacking fluid passing. Speak to Moribar fans about what they make of him and his type of football before you start going into doom and gloom mode.

Please don't read that crap article in the YEP about him as that was the worst piece of lazy journalism I have ever read. Speak to Ema an Italian reporter on what he makes of him. Got all are signing right and what quality of players they were when many were doom and gloom about them.

The only reason we like redders is his last 4 games but look at his stats and they are I am afraid truly awful. Redders is not ready for the hot seat yet. Not saying he won't be but just not yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well guys, when Redders was given the caretakers job a lot of people on this site and everywhere were sceptical and did not want him permanently in the job citing his previous stints in charge. I pointed out at the time he could not be judged on those two stints, he came in at the worst possible times, bad results and low morale etc, also I said he could be the right person at the right time. Now just 4 games later everyone wants him permanently. I doubt very much Darko is going to rip up the team and start again, I also am sure Redders will have some input. But what he has done is instill confidence, unity and belief in the players, they in turn have proved that to themselves and everybody on the pitch. That is not going to go away. Support our club whoever does what and we will be smiling all season

Agree0 Disagree0

Spain, yet another excellent post, I too have had a look at 'Darko's' past record, it really does look as though we are going to continue playing in this attacking mode, long may it continue.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it would be hard to play negatively with the exciting bunch of talent we now have. e.g. how would you get Antennuci to play negatively?

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm getting behind the new coach Darko & of course I have concerns as I would about most new appointments of this magnitude at lufc. To me he's not a great candidate simply because I'd not even take into account his time at Maribor. It's a Celtic situation with only one league winner & automatic European entry. Quite simply Maribor could play any way they wanted & win their league. Since being at Gratz he's not done very well, possibly with poor team so to sum it up he's another gamble imo.
I do think Massimo looks firstly to hire someone submissive so to speak, a nice guy who will take orders without answering back & a fear for losing his job. Darko is by all accounts a gentleman who will be really good for our PR and may even turn out to be a good coach but I'm not being fooled into this champions league experience nonsense as he clearly got in by deed fault. So as I said I will be right behind him & our team because I'm lufc through & through & not because Darko inspires me.
As for Redders, I believe he will be poached at some point & I also think he is gutted at this point, I mean how do you go back to your day job after doing your dream job successfully without regret & being upset he's been bypassed for no good reason. The academy is and always will be in good hands plus any head coach would have a big say in that area too had he got the top job he'd always be in with the youth between 1st team coaching & matches. It's his baby so he wouldn't have just ignored it. For those reasons I can see Redders walking away once a really good & well paid job comes up. No matter what, good luck to him, legend behind the scenes at lufc

Slough

i just want to put this to bed for everyone.

Moribor had not won anything or runners up in anything for the 5yrs before he arrived. When he took over they were then dominant until he left in his last season he did the treble, the fist time any club did this in Slovinia.

They won the league after he left but did not win any cups.

I understand Moribor may not be Barca but you can't take it away or dismiss it as irrelevant.

Sturm were always a top 4 team when he arrived but then Red Bull poured millions into slazburg and they were always the weakest out of the 4 and were then pushed to 5th on no budget. He did bring the highest value player with him and still is a club record of 964k. Sort of answers lots of questions right there doesn't it?

I think it's v interesting when the likes of the thicker half of the Neville brothers take a pop, it means we are rightfully in the spotlight again. I hope I'm right in thinking that Redders won't go anywhere soon - he should simply be our next coach!. Will be great for him to be in charge of a team in the premiership, after Donny has weaved his magic for a year or two.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hmmmm, interesting Speedy. I was listening last night, he was also quite critical of Liverpool and when discussing Man U was quite light hearted, but then the subject turned to Leeds and the whole panel jumped on it, obviously their favourite punchbag and because it is Leeds its ok. Maybe they are worried by our resurgence, they dismissed Massimo as some kind of mad dog dictator which shows they know nothing, its all knee jerk. In a way its hilarious

Agree0 Disagree0

Neville
Should have LESS-TER worry about lol

Agree0 Disagree0

In my experience if people start slagging you off then they are worried, I mean we all tend to boo the really great players who play against us, it is because we know they can do damage.

So I don't mind P Nev doing it and Steve Muppet Claridge (that guys voice always pisses me off, also he was a journeyman player so why does he think he has all the answers!) because hopefully they know with a bit of money behind us and the will of the owner/team/fans then we will rise again, sooner rather than later!

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy, I'm trying to work out if that's the best or worst joke I've seen on here lol. I'm thinking maybe worst! Congrats!!

Just a point on why Redders wasnt considered for the job. Many saying there would be a big void in the youth set up, but surely Redders himself could bring in the right person/persons for the role? Naylor and Bromby still looking for work I think?
Anyway I just hope new geezer keeps us playing how we are lately and that Redfearn doesn't end up at another club anytime soon.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

CORK
Not sure if he was or wasnt considered for the coaches job but don't want to lose him ;(

Andy
He wasnt interviewed at least for the job. MC made it pretty clear that he would stay in charge of the youth team.

Agree0 Disagree0

CORK
From what my mate tells me MC & Redders are really hitting it off. MC seems to trust everything Redders tells him. I'd be VERY surprised if they hadn't had the conversation in private.
As for getting rid of Naylor I don't know, if he was as good as people say I'm sure Redders would have put a word in for him, maybe Naylor didn't want to be part of MCs revolution.

Why is Phil Neville knocking Darko. Why don't you take your ugly face and worry about your own team.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's sort of interesting that what's going on at Leeds is attracting such attention though.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2014 08:07:27
Not really matter what they say think Massimo will recognise Redders importance to fans and club and redefine his position and maybe give him a rise. At the end of the day other clubs will have noticed how well he has done without Nevilles big mouth and it will be up to him and Massimo. Think Massimo will know this and give him a rise so if he goes it will cost other clubs more to buy him out. Personally think he will stay as he knows he will eventually be getting the job. Meanwhile onwards and upwards mot

Agree0 Disagree0

The bloke is a 'has been' and is trying his best to become a pundit/ authority on all things football! He is not bright enough to comment and should keep his nose out and his mouth shut - his view is like his commentary at the World Cup - very boring and irrelevant!

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem is that journalists such as Adam Pope (who was talking to Neville on 5 Live when he made these comments) and Phil Hay are now both publicly saying "surely teams will now want Redders as a manager" and this sort of talk is just therefore putting him in the shop window. I think this is disgraceful journalism from two men who make a living out of Leeds United.

He wasnt knocking Milanic, he was knocking the decision to appoint another relatively unknown coach when we already have an very good up and coming coach in charge. I really hope this works out for both him and us tho.
