I'm 90% sure Ken Bates will still be as tight as a ducks arse tomorrow morning He's so tight, rumour has it he squeeks when he walks.

Lets look at it at the moment we are maybe a goalkeeper down on last years squad and thats been addressed to so we are to be told but kilkenny has gone is brown a better a better player ? he was in his day but lets wait and see if he has a good season he can only be an improvement killer wasnt consistant enough for me Bradley Johnson again to me wasnt good enough he did have some good games but a comitted player to Leeds ? dont think so IF we get Michael Johnson we have a far better player and if it means changing formation to play Gradel , Nunez and Snoddy then lets do it Naylor well he had his day and sorry to say time caught up with him lets face it the squad is no worse than last year we do need some defenders our downfall last year but lets wait and see a lot of teams have spent money but lets face we did a few years ago and were did that leave us ?? nearly bankrupt and out of buisness come on lads lets get behind the team untill old papa smurf sells the club we wont have money BUT we will have a Club and a team

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Alot of ifs, and I have no idea were the micheal johnson rumour came from. There is a difference between spending money you have to money you dont have. You dont have to spend obscene amounts of money to get out of this divison but we should at least be competive in the transfer market at championship level. But lets wait and see what tomorrow brings. Sighs

Agree0 Disagree0

We have been waiting to see what tomorrow brings for ages. I think bates has spent too long abroad What's the Spanish term for it......" manjana"

Agree0 Disagree0

The squad is far worse than last year - my 31st season going to games and this is worst team i can remember. worse than 80s when only 8-14k of us turned up

Agree0 Disagree0

I do agree a little with you mate, but on the team issue it's not that we are much worse off but more so that we are no better off in the squad, and i'm sure most would agree the camp'ship look far stronger this year with the teams that have come down and other team spending big.

We are Leeds

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

We are becoming something of joke team. How can teams like Ipswich, Cardiff, Leicester, etc. be beating us to sign up all the half decent players available. Spending 100k on a goalkeeper to repalce one that was sold for 1 mil does not suggest that we are getting a better keeper. Bottom line is that with a terrible defence, lack of central midfielders and our 2 best strikers injured and no new ones coming then it will at best be a torrid season indeed leading to mid-table if lucky and a possible relegation fight. The squad is so thin that if anyone gets else gets injured then it will be a relegation dogfight. Only conclusion is that our chairman refuses to spend any money on players or wages as he doesn't give a .... about Leeds but only his own bank balance. So sad as he have a decent squad but need quality signings, especially defenders and central midfield.

Can anyone explain to me why we have to wait until the prem league 25man squads are named before we go for players? I only ask because norwich took Kyle Naughton on a season long loan the other day. Should a manager not know what players he wants to bring in and enquire about them? Just because squads have not been named you would imagine a team would know if a player was in their plans or not. Or is it a case of see who becomes available and take a lucky dip?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

There may be a few bargains with future transfers still pending. e.g. if Man City get another midfielder M Johnson will be out the door.

Guys face it bates is a t**t, who couldn't give a flyin f**k about our club, all he wants to do is cash in when (if) we get prem league. The bloke understands nothing but money, so hit him where it hurts, don't spend keep your hard earned cash in your pocket not bates.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Oh yeah cause that will do our club a load of good won't it u and if u don't like bates just get brined our players and cheer them on as it is them on the pitch. And bates will not cash in when he dose not own the ground or he will lose what he has put in of his own money not clubs money. Also we don't need to spend wish fans would stop moaning and get bhinde the squad we have got {Ed045's Note - Grayson is hoping for more signings this week, and one by today.

Strange statement from Gradel as we all know how he loves it at Leeds. Why do I get the feeling he will be going to Fulham as part of the Stockdale deal tomorrow Same as the Beckford saga all over again, he wanted to stay but the prem clubs have more money than us I hope he stays but we all know money talks.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

Beckford wanted Premier League, if not he'd have stayed.

Just a thought, as everything appears quiet on the transfer front. Obviously that's not to say the club isn't working hard behind the scenes.

Is it possible one of the reasons the club (or specifically Mr Bates) is seemingly unwilling to lay out any big fees/salaries is because there might be a prospective new owner looming? Ed any thoughts?

Can I clarify this is just a thought and not anything I've heard or read.

Fingers crossed for a another good season....MOT

Can't think of any other reason for improving stadium, i think as soon as we buy the stadium back and maybe thorpe arch he'll be looking for buyers ?

My dad knows Tony Dorigo former Leeds left back in the nineties. He still has ties with the club and told my dad over 5/6 months ago that Schmeical is an arrogant little tosspot and is disrupting the changing rooms shouting and blaming others, nobody wants to talk to him in the club, jog with him in training etc. He got chauffered to Leeds every day from Manchester saying he shouldn't have to live or drive to Leeds.

Think of that what you will, but if it is true what the man says, good riddance. Thankyou Leicester. No wonder he has had so many clubs at such a young age.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Well said - exactly what I have heard.

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny you say that as a few close friends who have corporate dealings with Leeds made the same accusations about Schmeichel...... time to move onwards and upwards (hopefully)

Agree0 Disagree0

Why did they let him go at Notts County same reason nobody liked him. Erickson wanted his squad early so no doubt gave us an offer which we had to take quickly. Plenty of goalie around better than him. So it was a no brainer for us.

Does anyone honestly believe that Grayson didn't want Kasper? Kasper was a very bright young goal keeper with a future. He wasn't the finished article, but he could only get better.

Bates' mind set was it was better business to sell him than negotiate a contract. Bates would pocket £1.25 million and save on wages while he could then offer some ageing journey man peanuts to continue playing, hence the lack of quality.

Bates might as well be stood in the dug out
On match days. Grayson is merely a puppet for bates.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Kasper wasn't well liked due to his arrogance. Grayson didn't want him to ruin team morale so he got rid. Simple as that. Good decision as far as I'm concerned.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also Kasper's agent told Grayson there was no point even trying to negotiate a new deal because he wouldn't sign one. Leeds did right selling him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kasper was over-rated... He had a good accurate kick on him... That's it .. I would have taken the money as well..

Agree0 Disagree0

Why doesn't SG now come out and say that A lot of fans will be happeir to know the truth of why he was sold

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds did explain the contract situation. Grayson can't publicly call him an ar*e can he, he'd be sued? Come on, think about it.

why does everyone on here think leeds are going to be fighting relegation?
weve got rid of johnson and kilkenny who everyone said were not fit and could do better. weve found nunez on form and got experienced michael brown in which is better than last year.
schmiechel has been sold, but if we sign a goalkeeper and kisnorbo stays fit, our goals against tally will be sorted. then as soon as becchio is fit the goals will come even more thats if mccormack isnt already top goalscorer in the championship by then with the amount of service he will get. So lets see who we sign and you go through the table and you would say weve got to be in the top 6. along with west ham, leicester, forest, reading, cardiff. so stop crying and get your hopes up gradel has MOT

If deals for Lonergan and Stockdale both fall through, we should lodge a bid for either of Readings Adam Federicci or Alex McCarthy. Both top quality keepers

Believable3 Unbelievable0

This is Leeds utd and ken bates. He doesn't spend money or do ambitious deals

Agree0 Disagree0

This would require investment and ambition? Both lacking in the Leeds board

Does anyone have any idea why Master Bates has chosen to spend 7m on the East stand of a ground we are told we do not own whilst spending no money on players and slashing the wage bill ?

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Because he is a lunatic

Agree0 Disagree0

So eventually some one will want to buy us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he is a real life james bond villlain and it's going to be his new evil lair.

Agree0 Disagree0

And mayby because over the comeing years the revenue and profit will be up due to the new facilities and therefore we can spend more on transfers and wages when the new spending more than you earn rule comes in next year Just my opinion

Cardiff making more additions to their squad. Strengthening for another push at promotion on what was already a useful squad.....

Are we strengthening and pushing for promotion next season, building on our last?

Bates and Grayson are 90% sure and will tell us in the next 48 hours I suppose...

who is tom soares?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Stoke midfielder who has not played for them since 2008. He was loaned to Charlton and the Wendys who both got relrgated whilst they had him - enough said

Agree0 Disagree0

Are ppl really football fans? I see lots of ppl dont know who tom soares is, the guy used to be all over the news was supposed to be the next big thing he played for england u21s, was a fairly big deal when stoke signed him. And also ppl saying who is adam lefondre etc. Makes ye wonder. Anyway thats who he is no offence maybe your fairly young or summot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone that's crap and nobody else wants. Should fit in well with our transfer policy

Agree0 Disagree0

Go on google, you will find he's a professional at getting relegated for whoever he plays for.presently at Stoke City, never played a game for them or anyone else last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is cousin to saddle soares and his uncle is bed soares

Leeds Utd winger Max Gradel claims he is planning to stick around at Leeds 'for a long time to come'.

He said: "Leeds is a massive club. It is the best I have been at and to play at a club like this is a dream.
"I want to keep playing at this club for a long time to come.
"There are a lot of positives to be taken from last season and now we are ready to go again. We deserve to be in the Premier League."

The 23-year-old, who can also operate as a central striker, has become a summer transfer target for a number of European clubs having caught the eye as he notched up an immpresive 18 goals from the wing last season.

Fantastic news, MOT :D

Which d**k disagreed with this?

Don't speak to soon grayson did say if we get an offer that benefits the club remember kasper didn't want to leave

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken bates

Agree0 Disagree0

But SG didn't want kasper, that's the difference

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you honestly believe Grayson didn't want kasper? Kasper was as good as any Of the young talent we have. Bates thought kasper was good business, his old man thinking was we got him for nothing so why waste money negotiating a contract that would cost him when he could cash in on him. Grayson is just a puppet for bates voice. Bates prefers freebies, journey men and old professionals because they will play for peanuts

Agree0 Disagree0

Max is going nowhere.

The guy who keeps calling Grayson a puppet - you're a muppet.

this article from daily mirror shows leeds lack ambition

Michael Brown took a whopping £20,000-a-week drop in pay to become Leeds United s second summer signing.

Brown could have waited for a club to offer him closer to the £30,000 a week he was on at Portsmouth.

But the 34-year-old midfielder was so keen to kick-start his career he agreed to fit into the Championship club s wage structure.

Brown, released on a free, has signed a one-year deal and follows Blackpool keeper Paul Rachubka to the club.

Story to be run in the People that Gradel is being chased by 9 clubs. With any luck (we would need a lot of it) a bidding war will bring in about £10m. Apparently Stockdale sill to decide over Leeds or Ipswich.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

What do you mean with any luck? with any luck hell stay where hes stated on he wants to play for Leeds for a long time, even if he went for 10 million, how much of that do you think Grayson would see , not a lot, we need to keep our best player however much is offered.

Agree0 Disagree0

You would have no option but to accept if Max was still in final year of contract. We need to get him on new contract. If we did get 10m ( its a very big if )can you imagine the conversation between SG and KB - I imagine it would go something like this, SG " morning Sir can I spend the 10m on strenghening the team" KB "1 million? what do you need a hundred thousand for ? "

Leeds to sign Fredy Montero for Seattle Sonuders on a 4 year deal. He is 22 and scored loads of goals last season. Is fairly small but make up for it in pace and finishing. Would be a perfect strike partner for Luciano. Ed, wat do you think?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Leeds will not offer a deal over 3year as that is the max they will go to. Unless it a player at the club already.
