There was me thinking this was a Leeds site and all people can talk about is how the Huddersfield manager is doing- some people need to move on

Believable16 Unbelievable1

Couldn't agree more....its getting boring now, people should move on! It took me less time to get over my ex missus!

Grayson already proving what he can do with
backing

Believable5 Unbelievable16

Its 7 games in, with the squads they have warnock is doing better, come january and we will be right in the mix and town will be where they belong, at the bottom

Agree4 Disagree2

Town have a better squad than us at moment and will be around the top 6 at end of season . grayson will be given enough money in jan to get them to the prem league. i just hope warnock is given the money too .

Agree4 Disagree6

If you remember correctly we were 2nd the season after we got promoted and we ended up 7th. There's a saying about counting chickens....

Agree5 Disagree0

No way will town be top 6 , get a grip , they've played no one any good until blackpool, and on a good night blackpool would've won, goalie was carp, ht defence looks s***e

How stupid do all you Grayson is a poor manager look, you ought to be careful what you wish for it sometimes comes back to haunt you, look at the job he's doin at huddersfield with not spending vast amounts of money, the difference is there his players not Mr Bates,Bates should have gone not Simon,he was made the scapegoat, criminal absolutely criminal.

Believable5 Unbelievable12

What is your problem - Grayson got sacked something that happens to any manager - it doesnt matter what hes doing at huddesfield warnock is our manager now - its time to get over it and live with it and get behind the guy we have - are you a Leeds fan or a Grayson fan , if you are only interested in grayson i suggest you buy a Huddesfield shirt and go there instead of ER - stop harping on about the past and look forward

Agree17 Disagree0

Even though I'm a Grayson fan I agree that we need to move on. What is important about the Grayson sacking though is that I think many of us now see that Grayson was never the problem at ER. He was unfairly sacked but that's life - it happens in football when managers are scapegoated. The problem was and remains Bates.

Warnock's the manager now and even though he wouldn't have been my choice - I don't care for his style of playing at all - he still gets my support at the games and we need to make it clear to Bates that we've sussed him.

Blaming the managers won't work Mr. Bates. Please sell now so our current manager gets the players he needs in January.
ML

7 fu##ing games!!!
Judge him at end of season you fickle fans he will be shown for what he is
Russjon

Agree6 Disagree1

Question to original poster
I'm one of the people you mention with regards to Grayson been tat as a manager
Is your arguement based on 7 games this season?
Sorry 6 cos they lost 1 so that won't count
His players??
Who signed all the sh!te we been left with
He probably wasn't backed in transfer market cos he skunked £500000 on Danny poo
Bates didn't sign him nor did he make the strange substitutions that was all graysons own work
Warnocks budget is hampered due to the wage structure and all the cak Grayson signed take up too much of it
Who is to blame for that then or is that bates fault
Yeah bates is a clown and I hate him but Grayson paid for his mistakes
And rightly so
Back warnock and the boys or F off down the 62 and watch that pub team
Russjon

Agree7 Disagree3

I don't think anyone above is saying anything negative about Warnock Russjon. You really are letting your hostility to Grayson get the better of you - life's too short.
ML

Agree2 Disagree2

Grayson will of done same as warnock and given bates a list of 3 players for each position giving bates the final say . has its bates he probably chose the cheapest of the lot leaving grayson with a crap team aswell by selling all the top players.if grayson had the choice im sure that gradel ,howson ,killkenny johnson and beckford would never of left and also if he had been given even half of the funds we received for these players im sure the team would of been much stronger.

i just cant see why grayson gets the blame for not getting the right players when he didn't have the transfer fees and then he couldn't get any decent free players because he didn't really have a good enough wage budget . some of the players he signed were expected to be decent but for some reason they just couldnt do a job for leeds .ie .paynter.

Agree1 Disagree2

I dont blame Grayson in any way!But hes hudds manager now so i dont care who he signs and how much money he has to play with!As for the players you mention we sold Grayson only signed Gradel!!Grayson did inherit a pretty decent squad!Obviously didnt get the financial support therafter.....but he did sign rubbish when he could have spent a bit more wisely!Free Agents do require signing on fees and wages!Obrien,Paynter,Bruce et al! And of course when your dealing with papasmurf you have to make every penny count!!KEA

Agree0 Disagree1

ML
You seem obsessed with me would it be easier if I sent you my phone number!
I like Grayson I wish it had worked for him actually as I hated warnock but seen as he's here ill support him whilst he is trying
When he starts to make the same mistakes as Grayson did or fails to rouse the team anymore ill want him gone too as I want Leeds to be back where we belong
I feel like I have to defend myself to you constantly
What does ML stand for

Brave comment for a cup game against a Warnock Team.

Agree7 Disagree1

Who cares? Play the kids as far as I'm concerned. We have more important things to worry about than a cup competition we won't win. Keep the first team injury-free.

Put out the U 18's, it'll be good experience for them

Agree2 Disagree1

Who cares? i think all Leeds fans cares... yes it might only be a cup game which in fairness we have no chance of winning, but just getting to the next round will add extra income (then it is up to the k**b at the top whether that gets invested in a loan signing we desperately need). Do you ever have anyhting good to say ML? it always seems to be about grayson or just negativity with other peoples comments to get a reaction.

L3EDS

L3EDS

Agree1 Disagree3

There is nothing at all negative in my post above L3EDS. I really don't care about tonight's result because I want us to have the best possible chance of promotion. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in thinking that. Why is that negative?

Cup runs in the past have tended to be a distraction. Playing the first team leads to them getting tired, that leads to suspensions, injuries etc. We have a thin squad - why take risks?

'Play the kids' is a positive statement - some of them may surprise us and merit a chance in the first team - you never know. At worst it will give them some valuable experience. It was also meant as a polite way of telling our Evertonian friend to 'go away' with a capital F.

During the game I'll get carried away and want us to win - I always do. I was ecstatic at that moment when we scored a late equaliser against Spurs a couple of years back but what did that result really bring us in the long term other than a few quid more for the yacht fund?

As for the Grayson thing that was an ongoing debate with Russjon which occupied a but more of my life than it merited. I will now try to refuse to get drawn on the subject..

I try to be positive but it's not easy is it? When Bates goes I'll be more positive. He will have to sell up at some point.

Don't you think by getting the ground as full as possible will make the new owners even more eager to get the deal done. When staying away might make them think twice by showing how fickle we can be. I for one will be there But for the ones who'are deciding to stay away that's your call and only your decision. But if I may ask you to reconsider and show everyone who watches the game tomorrow on SKY just what we thought of Gary! I hate Bates for
Dragging this out, as I think he and only he has effected our chance of promotion, as I do think good results early on are important. Put Bates to one side he'll be gone soon, and let's show the rest of the country just what an atmosphere we can produce. Don't let Gary down lads, we are the best supporters in the country.

Try responding to my post if you have an answer for it or are you convinced Grayson is god after 7 games
I told you about your silly comparrisons and I think Paul jewell is on the list of greats you put Grayson in with so think that helps my arguement no end
Russjon

Agree0 Disagree0

Like I said - much depends on who the owners are in January. Really don't understand your attitude to Grayson though.

Quoting one transfer - Pugh - as evidence of bad transfer policy is silly. What about McCormack, Clayton, Lonergan, O'Brien was good until the depression, Somma...

Warnock's signings are hit and miss. I'd take Pugh over Varney on what I've seen so far.

Ultimately this is futile. Grayson will go one way or another over the next 20 years and then we'll know. As for Jewell, he was on the list, but you seem to have forgotten to quote some of the other name on the list who have done a little bit better - you can't be so selective with your 'evidence' and sound credible.
ML

Agree0 Disagree0

Lonergan-average at best
Obrien-fell out with Grayson
Clayton-would never have played if Kilkenny and Johnson had signed new deals
McCormack-same again not trusted to start by Grayson
You missed off your list
Paynter,Rachubka,Connolly, bronby, forsell,Nunez, not to mention his loan signings

I wonder if anyone can ever write anything that will unite us again from the 4 groups we have become (Bates haters, Bates accepters (newly invented word to cover for the fact that he cannot possibly have any lovers or admirers!), Bates haters haters & Bates accepters haters...I will try, because in the end every Leeds fan is just that, a Leeds fan.

Defence of Bates hating fans:
It's pretty bloody obvious, also you could argue quite easily that it is these fans that are driven by their such intense passion for Leeds United, that they become more extreme than others - Leeds United is their loved one, and Batesy is messing them about, not treating their loved one with the respect, or taking special care, or sharing the same ideas and dreams, never spending a penny on what the only thing any and every fan cares about, the team !

Bates accepters:

These, most certainly will be older fans, or middle class or working class fans with management or above jobs, and business owner fans.

I've gone from being on the dole, workng in offices, hotels, then moved to Denmark after growing up on the Bradford/Halifax border area (which consists of a small stone with a line seperating them..lol) so from a 'border' with a population of about 10) anyway...I was on the dole in Denmark for years, working in factories packng ice lollies, delivering newspapers at 5am at 27years old with a young son to support, 6 years ago I got a job after 2 years unemployed washing up in a hotel, and I punched the air with joy, then I was 37...then after over a decade of being a foreigner and no job, a job came up as a bartender in the pub where me old mate worked, my interview was a game of darts with the manager. I became manager and then due to tragic circumstances I inherited some money that was just enough to cover the deposit on an old Danish lunch restaurant in the capital city, Copenhagen - It's gradually transforming into an English pub, which doesn't seem to exist abroad, yet millions of Irish pubs ? anyway after all that waff, the point:

Being an owner of a tiny business is a world you can't believe, remember the old depeche mode line 'grabbing hands, grab all they can' you exist to pay other people only - the paperwork involved is insane - exactly 100 pages of documents required JUST for the alcohol license - banks require budget accounts, drift accounts, creditor, debitor, private drift, private budget accounts - and then don't give you any money ! Point: As a 2 person small persons business owner, it took 3 months longer than it should have done to sign over the place, due to LAWYERS and yes, was because of lawyers holidays ! He is telling the truth, the wise old cockerny trickster, think tiny and all genuinely true: (my business) our lawyers holiday, our accountants holiday, the estate agents holiday, the estate agents lawyers holiday, the sellers lawyers holiday, the sellers accountants holiday. Now think massive world bankers and Leeds United, and Ken Bates.......

The grey cockerny furball seems to want to get rid as fast as possible - but remember what he said in the interview, along the lines of bankers being green, not understanding the concept of groundwork, whatever you think of him, as a business, Leeds United is his 'baby', after over 50 years in business, he is not just gonna handover his 'baby' to some "dodgy foreigners" who haven't got a clue what they are getting into - ffs we are not a toy or plaything for some rich company - I really think Ken Bates will make sure we handover in the right manner.

I hope you all return to swell the gates at home, Bates is still there, but in many ways, and the right ways he has long 'gone' - he's not gonna be at Elland Road for a long time now - he's mentally moved on - the fee quid you stayaways save will mean nothing to the millions he is getting - turn itnaround, think of it as quids well spent investing back into the new Leeds - you're not helping out Leeds with the entrance money, you are paying to see the boys slog their guts out for the shirt, provide entertainment, and hopefully see a win !! In the American sense, 'errr HELLOOOO' - Neil Warnock ? An entire new squad, err playing their socks off for the shirt !
Stayaways: your hatred for what HAS happened has blinded you and are now deien by your own misery - break out from it, come back, fill the ground, scare the rubbish out of the opposition and.........

march on TOGETHER....

Believable15 Unbelievable4

Most possitive & eloquent post Ive read in months. Well said Sir!

I own a business and I am certainly not a Bates accepter - I can also see through the 'good businessman' bullcrap because I read the LUFC accounts and have read up on his past directorships in detail.

I suspect most businessmen and women share my view - certainly the ones I talk to all think that Bates is a poor businessman who got lucky at Chelsea and has done a very bad job at Leeds. We are not the steady business he claims - we're a selling club to fund his losses, many of which, like the radio station, are simply ridiculous.
ML

Agree1 Disagree0

Original poster: ...but Bates IS going, but I also agree with you, when he has gone - everyone will be back....but SURELY you can't get a more striking case of cutting off your nose to spite your face ? What exactly IS the point of staying away ? Nothing can happen until many many important business people have dotted the i's & crossed the t's - it's pretty much inevitable & sounds very similar in time to my own purchase of a business - and if the accounts at Leeds were crooked, wouldn't the bank have run a mile ?
