Not trying to be controversial here just my opinion. I don't think Alex mowett is influential or mobile enough to launch a promotion bid. He isn't going to get more mobile than he is now either Out of our group of youngsters I would be willing to sell him for a decent price of course. Don't think he would be missed.

Out of the best three goals scored in the championship scored this year he's scored two of them, ( cook the other one btw)
In a side with more of a threatening cutting edge he would find a little more space in behind and become the attacking 10/ 15 a goal season midfielder we/ I know he can be.
Must keep him, simple.

I agree PU.
IMO he would be a better player in a better side where he would get more space. The trouble is, he may feel the same way which could hasten his departure.

No doubting his ability and he would be a class player in a stronger team, especially in premiership. I have doubts if he is a championship player though. Scores great goals and if he was taking shots every game fine, but a few games this season and last he was a passenger. His work rate is not high enough, not a great tackler. He gets good patches but not consistant. Agree he would be stand out in a strong side but he needs to up his game, if others are going to do the running about for him he needs to contribute more than 8 goals a season, don't matter how spectacular they are. Hope we keep him he is class and there will be a time when he can shine but unless the team chages drastically in the summer not sure he will get a lot of playing time. Up to him really.

mowatt has always stuck me of and reminded me of Frank Lampard type. While I do not think he will ever be as good as fat frank. I think he is a luxuary player, capable of making things happen and good passer and great finisher. I agree in better team he would be worth 15/ 20 goals. I do think he has been in poor form this season and don't think SE tactics suit him (think redders got best from him) . I would want to keep him and think althouhg he is not quick his fitness has been bit off and think he has a lot more to offer than shown recently.

First instruction to Mowatt - Shoot.
yes he could be a bit more mobile and yes he could tackle more buteven in this team if he gets a sight of goal, shoot!

Kind of agree with bits of what people say. I think for him to play in the PL, he would have to have players who have pace and cover a lot of ground. I agree with BW that he is a can be a luxury player. He reminds me more of Joe Cole the Frank Lamport. Bags of talent, but what is his best position? Coaches over past 2 season's have played him in various roles. Even on the left side of midfield, which for my money he's not suited to.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2016 18:06:32
I think he'd be great in that no 10 role behind a striker with pace, so he'd find pockets of space when defences get stretched. He would look much better if we had genuine pace in our forward line . This is the most pressing issue that needs to be sorted in the summer.

I remember when Byram fist came onto the seen. He was fantastic in his first season, had a dip in his second then came back much stronger in his third. Give young Alex next season I'm sure he'll be much improved, after all he's had one or two niggling injuries this season which could be hampering his performance and development.

joe cole is my second cousin. I taught him everything he knows, maybe mowatt needs to spend a couple of weeks with me and he would be an england regualar.

BW!
And what else would he be after 2 weeks with you lol?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Feb 2016 16:13:20
well joe is family so it was mainly football and playing Duck Tails on NES. I could teach old mowat a thing of two with a ball. a football speedy. also teach him the worm, running man and jazz splits so next time he scores a bealter he could do proper celebration.

Wex it's not a question of the loan it's the way it's portrayed as we are much better off when in reality all he has done is moved the debt it hasn't gone anywhere just moved into shares dnt get me wrong we are going in right direction but it's not as rosey as he would like us to believe?

But this is what way most clubs would operate why when cellino runs a club this way it's seen as underhand every company or business massage their figures and if this makes Leeds more appealing to investment surely this is good for club so what's the problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2016 00:18:49
We may have run a surplus then, if we weren't paying off ex - coaches, court cases etc. Moving the debt around is just trying to put a spin on the issue. Proper accounts will be out next month. Let's hope we are in a stable condition.

When abromovith loans money to Chelsea no problem when cellino does it with Leeds he's trying to make fools of us fans is roman making fools of Chelsea fans.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

25 Feb 2016 21:01:02
Roman is worth 10000 million pounds. If he loans 200 million it doesn't really affect him. Cellino is probably worth no more than half what Roman has loaned chelski over the years. Not every club gets a multi billionaire owner. We are headed in right direction.

Got to agree Wex, I don't agree with all this negativity. Even though we have been treated like mushrooms in the past, you still have to be positive.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - If someone treated me like a 'mushroom' I certainly wouldn't be happy yet you are ? }

25 Feb 2016 21:05:16
He has George Osbourne sat next to him from time to time in directors box at SB, I would suggest that he is making fools of more than just the chelscum fans, more like all of us.

Am I being thick here?
We have apparently cut our losses by approx £20 million.
Cellino has put in twenty million in the same period.
That to me isn't a saving. It's the same loss, £20 odd million. The debt is now to Cellino. We haven't actually saved the money, just accounting it a different way.

Please enlighten me if I am wrong.

25 Feb 2016 12:57:31
Shhhhhh, best not to mention anything.

We want a new buyer / investor remember.

If we show a loss of £2mil, that's great and a fantastic investment opportunity for any perspective buyer.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2016 13:05:42
On a basic to intermediate level you are right but it is still a significant development. Rather the debt belong to Eleonora than anyone else. Half the loan will probably go into convertible stock upon entry into the PL. Now there's a real incentive to buy out GFH and invest in the playing squad. We only need 6 really good players. That's another 20m investment. We can do it.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Feb 2016 16:37:09
That's exactly how it is. Turnover was down and we got over £10 million for selling g a player. Cellino thinks everyone is as stupid as he is. Now we owe money to Cellino and to GFH. The auditors have to report before the end of next month. We will be able to see then what state the club is in. Everyone should download the figures once they are relied. I fear this story is just good spin.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Feb 2016 17:22:37
The McCormack money wasn't included in the figures apparently.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2016 18:05:36
Where's that money gone then?
Cellinos not been buying tropical fish has he?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2016 18:23:03
What he's done is allowed us to recriut in summer. Money still has to be paid by whoever buys us but not classed as debt and no interest payable, which is what was crippling us with gfh loan. Cellino gets payback when we get to premiership as share price will rise, me thinks he is here for long haul.

25 Feb 2016 22:05:17
Accountancy is not an exact science guys!

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2016 00:58:36
Cellino can get all his investment back and more with repeated seasons in the PL which is now paying more money than ever and the FL don't want us to receive a drop.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2016 01:46:27
You don't get to choose what figures are in or out. The Ross money was received in this time period so will have to be included in the accounts. All money in and all money out has to be accounted for. That is the law.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2016 19:10:35
Deda so navie and foolish. you don't get to choose what figures are in or out. you clearly have never dealt with the mafia have you?

Hopefully Wood will come good but, if not, I have just seen a "marquee" gamble, whose contract expires this June. Leandro Damiao. A player who was chased aggresively only a few years ago with figures of 15-20 million quoted. He is still only 26 and carries a value of just over 3mill.
My only concern is why is he so cheap?

He might have been on Big Bones Stevie's healthy eating plan with Chris Wood!

MC's told him not to eat 17 pies a day so he's decided to go on a diet and just have the 16.

Would love to know the the thoughts of our ol banter friend Jeff on the financial report and wether he thinks it's baloney (great Americanism) 😂 or in fact his intelligence source had an off day? Come on fella give us the low down 👇 or some more good news 📰 maybe! 😂 😎 MOT.

Jeff is probably busy brokering a deal for Cellino to sell the club in secret negotiations with a Chinese Billionaire. Either that or he's having a kick about with Lucas Radebe and his kids down at the park!
