I've just been looking into the board members at GFH and the chairman. I just wonder what their overall plans for Leeds United are. Obviously to make money and return on their investment, but in what manner.
The more I look into it, the more it seems that this is a bit of a first. Not just for GFH Capital but for their parent company GFH.

Where as Ken Bates is a self made millionaire I don't believe he's quite in GFHs league. This makes me wonder quite what the changes made to the team, stadium, business, child companies and overall way things at Elland Road are run will be, when they eventually assume control.

I don't see these guys as just buying the company as a frivolous side project for David Haigh. I see them wanting to turn ER and LUFC into a powerhouse of football and profit.

This is obviously done by increasing interest abroad and at home and getting their hands on that sweet sweet a website money in the PL and Europe.
This is bigger than just " BATES OUT " this is the next chapter for Leeds United Football Club and I don't think people are getting excited enough !
-DB

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Believe me ppl are very excited but at the same time wont believe it until it goes through . there is a limit to how much a club can spend on transfers in a season unless they use a loophole

Agree4 Disagree0

Loopholes are easy, huge amounts in stadium sponsorship being the most obvious - The Etihad being a prime example.

When that loophole gets closed down clever accountants will find others. If the money's there we'll find ways of spending it on players. We just need it to be there. Before January please.
ML

Agree2 Disagree0

I believe its 6 mil per year but that doesnt include player sales or revenue or something. if we get 6 mill to spend and sold snoddy for 3 mill thats 9 mill if u get me

deakko7

Agree3 Disagree0

ML- why are saying you hope it's done before January? Sure you said two days over the last week that it would be definately by those days. You were so sure. You weren't rubbishting us were you?

Crmd

H.E. Dr. Ahmed Al Mutawa of gfh also has links to the khalifi fund, hate to say it but theres that name again Khalifi! speculation ofcourse but it was one of the first names mentioned in this comedy!

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Sep 2012 18:20:46
if bates is still in charge he wont need a loophole. not even spent 6min in 7 yrs

Agree1 Disagree0

Not sure you've got the right person Crmd? I've never speculated about the takeover date. I've never even posted rumours of any kind - transfer stuff for instance. Not really interested in making stuff.

It's a banter site - I only ever post opinion and banter. I sometimes post stuff even I disagree with just to get a reaction. That can be quite a laugh...

Every now and again I post some technical stuff about accounts or business process since I run a business and assume some people might find it useful.

I'd like to see a takeover by January - am I the only one? I suspect not!

Why is everyone going on about simon grayson? alright they had a good victory against blackpool last night but look at the teams they have played cardiff (7th), Notts forest (11th), Burnley (16th), ipswich (23rd), Derby (17th), Sheffield W (21st) and blackpool (4th) and look at our fixtures wolves (6th), Blackpool (4th), peterborough (well we all know about peterborough), blackburn (3rd), cardiff (7th), hull, (5th) and forest (11th). doesnt take much to work out who has had the harder fixtures. i can count the number of games this season that if grayson was in charge the team would of collapsed and buckled under the pressure, think back to forest and blackpool at home last season. warnock has installed some guts and passion into the players this season. Warnocks doing an incredible job with the squad that we have currently got fit so stop going on about grayson and get behind NW and his players. im sure NW and leeds will show who the better team is come 30th november and also at the end of the season. bring on everton tonight!!

MOT!

Believable16 Unbelievable0

Wasn't Warnock in charge against Forest at home?

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah
He played the players Grayson signed
Russjon

Agree1 Disagree1

Not one player that started against against forest was a grayson signing

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes he was in charge but im talking about LAST season not this season....last season he had lonergan, connolly, o'dea, brown, clayton, pugh come on and so did paynter. all these were graysons players. we dont look like a team that will crumble under pressure. i remember looking at grayson last year thinking theres no passion about him (other than mccormacks last minute goal against burnley at home) there was no shouting to his players he would just stand there arms crossed. watching warnock this season you can see he feels every kick of the ball, constantly shouting to his players giving instructions and encouragement. last night he made all the players walk over to the kop to applaude the fans and he regularly does this at away matches. the players look alot more like a team now with much more togetherness and team spirit. warnock is the man to lead us to promotion (not nessecarily this season) but with the right backing he can do it. so stop going on about simon grayson.

I posted last night because i honestly think staying away from Elland road will do more harm than good. Bates is no longer important he will never be a jack walker where fans still fondly remember what he did for Blackburn. Mr Bates will be like yesterday's fish and chip paper long forgotten. It will however be a disaster to see Elland road empty for all the world to see on sky. We are supposed to be the best supporters in the land. And do you really want to say
In the future that piece of sxxt ken bates stopped you from paying your joint respects with the Everton fans to a true legend. I'm probably wasting my breath but it's worth a try because I actually believe we are the greatest fans in the country, and I guess all those who disagree with that statement will press the disagree button.

Without sounding negative .i hope im not alone in thinking this.Tonight is more important we lose key people like pearce, austin, becchio to injury than the result. No i dont want us to lose but a narrow defeat with no injuries will do for me fine. Agree or disagree.

I dont care one jot about tonights score, its the next 36 games that I'm interested in

Agree12 Disagree0

I'm hoping no injuries but if you want injuries well that's really weird.

Agree2 Disagree0

Same here but with sounds of things warnock doesn't give a dam about it as hes planning on playing players with knocks which is not worth it when the cup means nothing to us while we are still in the championship other than a little more cash

Agree1 Disagree1

From what I have read Warnock is going to give the players the chance to play if they want, he would prefer to rest some but he wants the team to enjoy the match and get a glimps of Prem. It seems one of his big mantras is to have players enjoying themselves and make the most of every opportunity, that way he can get the best out of them.

just to shed some light on the Grayson arguments ...... i work out in Turkey was lucky enough to be playing golf with 2 Leeds players who were out on holiday. Of course i was in my eliment and in interogation mood. :)
When i asked about Grayson they laughed and said 'where do you want us to start' - Apparently he was an absolute coward who avoided one to ones at all cost. ....... 'Boss can i have a word with you as to why i've been dropped?' .......... ' Yes ... after training' - After training Grayson would shoot off to his car without making any eye contact with the player in question. The biggest joke in the dressing room was on eventually explaining to the defender in question as to why he had been dropped was that he felt we needed more height in the defence for the match in question. It was later pointed out to him by the team that the player playing instead was in fact 2 inches shorter than the one he dropped!! He had his favorites and that was that wether they were in form or not. His man management skills apparently were appaling and thats how he lost the dressing room and Bates trust.
He certainly wasn't a scapegoat - it was just a matter of time. So good luck Huddersfield!

Believable15 Unbelievable7

I think the job pressures became apparent and the best thing for everyone is that he left. We've got a strong character in Neil warnock which is the type we need. Good luck to him at hudds. Everyone has moved on now

Agree7 Disagree0

And let's be fair to bates, the first season in the championship we did have a huge squad. A few players were signed i.e kasper, Sam etc and we also had loan players come in that wont have been cheap. We had a decent set of players but there was no organisation especially defensively. We relied heavily on gradel becchio and snoddy. It's too obvious that blame should lie with the manager and his tactics and also his defensive organisation. You can see now why he lost a lot of players trust and respect
