For god sake everyone can see we need a striker who can put the ball in the net and someone to provide it, we may have more than enough on the books in them positions but
WE can't SCORE GOALS
Sort it out!
Pay the rubbish off and start again Leeds!
Ketlufc
I totally agree with this post, we played really well but just couldn't score it's abit like the same old story c'mon gfh surely you can scrape up a few quid for Brian for another proven goal scorer ASAP please.
Send us the funds to pay them off then or just shut up.
'Paying them off' would mean we still had no money, but we would also have no players
I'd currently rather have a full squad of average players than playing someone out of position because we have released too many, be realistic and think about the long term. New era and time to be proud to be a leed fan once again. We all know this isn't going to be a wonder season but we also know this is a regeneration and a new chapter of lufc that I am excited to be part of.

Newcastle fan in peace.
unlucky about the result for you, I'm pleased with the solid win! I love it when we play leeds as we're both very big clubs, with fantastic fans. Good luck with the rest of the season. I hope to see us playing you soon in the premier league :)
JToon
Thanks bud, good on yer, hope to see you next year, you never know, takeover, investment, whichever comes first will do, couple more quality signings and we've a chance, see ya soon,

Lost 2-0 but didn't embarrass ourselves. Now onto Millwall where we can get our season back on track
Well said we all need to keep the faith and back mcdermott and the lads all the way
1 shot on target infront of over 5k fans I find that embarrasing. Brian do you understand why team use wide play now?
25 Sep 2013 21:32:31
FFS get a striker in, this lot look like they couldn't score in a brothel!
Yes your right. However do you think it might be midfielders we need as well. From what I hear we never get a grip on a game thus we are always under pressure like tonight. Austin is c***, tonge is all over the place and Mowatt can't be criticised as he is young and learning. Yes a striker, winger and a midfield general who can dictate play. JD {Ed013's Note - Austin played well tonight and Tonge has been one of the best players this season}
Austin ok every now and then. Tonge rubbish {Ed013's Note - I have to ask you if you watch the games? I only ask this due to Tonge being one of our best players so far this season. Austin is also back to where he was before his injury, get behind these players}
Have to agree with Ausman tonge is rubbish. Worst midfielder of the lot. Can't pick a pass, too slow and head goes everytime we concede. Get rid for sure {Ed013's Note - Well, you are both entitled to your opinions, but having seen every game this season he is no where near our worst midfielder and does as he is asked}
Tonge is a quality player at this level very rarely gives the ball away and in football that's the hardest thing to do so instead of moaning at him why not start supporting him
Ed these whingers probably never seen Tonge play except on the telly. They just need someone to slag off in a Leeds shirt.
Tonge is a very average player, he does the job but does not add any flair, for some reason never takes a shot and doesn't ever get stuck in. He was really good on loan but when we signed him it went down hill
25 Sep 2013 21:30:58
Poor old BMD. looks like he's been asked to polish a turd working with Leeds. is it all looking that different to the past few years.
I get your point buddy biut I'm pretty fed up with all this hands tied rubbish, its been evident for quite some time what our team is lacking and frankly nothing has been done to adress this, all we've done really its loaded up on average to poor forwards
Get yourself down to Elland Road and let's see if can polish you as well
25 Sep 2013 19:17:45
Is liking the line up for tonight!
And m
Very attacking line up. Good to see. Watching updates on tv and they say its all Newcastle but the only fans I can hear are Leeds fans
It's streamed on USA goals. All I can hear is the leeds fans as well
Woah! We completely out sung you tonight

All this talk about a premiership striker coming, then Fryat is mentioned??
Ok he plays for Hull, and yes he`s pretty decent, but just a play on words to make it sound like V Persie is on his way. lol
Has Fryat actually played prem football?
25 Sep 2013 17:10:10
Currently on my tod waiting for mates at St James. Where are all the Leeds fans. I need support.
25 Sep 2013 16:26:55
Would the powers that be at GFH and LUFC please sign a new striker by Friday.
Fifa 14 is being released and I want ensure I can start with the correct squad.
I will be signing Mackay-Steven and Berahino / Guidetti in the game and probably try and get Scott carson back because no doubt I will have some money to spend. Normally around £3mil.
Cool thing is Pugh, Norris and Drury will be sold within a week (game time)
Ha what a quality comment!
Luckily it's 4 million this year. The first thing I will be doing is signing bentley as a free agent. I might also sign Callum Harriot from charlton and craig makail smith
Fifa ain't too good for free signings, couldn't find Vassell or Reo-coker. Although Forsell was available, hmmmmmmm.
Quality post and if budget is 4m this will be better than the last couple of years. Guess I can't sell any recent signings that rhyme with Punt
Yeah I hope that has changed. Last season it was impossible to do a good career mode with leeds. Couldn't sell any players and only had 2 million
Last year, pretty much half the squad was new, so couldn't sell anyone.
Only 4 additions this year so it will be easier to get rid of the dead weight and free up some wages. Thw three I mentioned above will be top of the list.
I will even play the current tactics, although by Jan I will probably revert to form (4-2-1-3)
2mil is enough, especially if you manage to get rid of the players you need.

It struck me at the game on saturday that the diamond shape is not working and nobody was picking up the right back in the first half, I could not understand why we could not re organize our shape to cope with him during the first half, surely we don't have to wait until half time for Mcd to tell them.(its not the first time this season we have seen this)
Also many time in the first half we had a situation where there were 5 up front and five at the back with a 30 yard gap between them, this seemed to be pretty basic error.
If we are going to stick to the diamond shape I would like to see macormack pushed forward and played in a more forward role, (he is the most likley player we have got who could be a 15 to 20 goals a season ) and let Diuofy play at the front of the diamond with a free role to roam.
What do other supports think to this???
Aldob
mot
Absolutely agree about changing the roles of Diouf and McCormack. Changing to 4-4-2 permanently would be difficult as we would need 2 wide players and we are struggling to sign one. I still think the diamond can work with a more creative midfielder and a better striker
Agree entirely with Aldob

High profile striker on the books of a PL club, dropping down a division to a big club to get a lot of games = Nicklas Bendtner
Been doing the rounds a lot this morning with colleagues of mine, what does everyone else think?
Personally I think the guy is a nutter, but, he would be very good in this league! But (yes another) I am not sure arsenal will let him go out with them being abit thin up front unless 24gr8 recall was in the deal and then that wouldn't suit us!
Didn't he proclaim himself as the best forward in the world at one point aha, he's playing for arsenal tonight I think they will probably keep hold of him for that squad depth for cup games etc

With regard to the fans saying Bentley has no pace. Remember a certain David Beckham? Hardly the fastest player there has been. But boy could he deliver a telling ball! And Bentley is on the same mould. Get your finger out and get him bmd!
Bob. Wakefield
Its got nothing to do with mcdermott getting his finger out he picks the players gfh are the ones that need to back him
25 Sep 2013 22:22:39
BMD has already stated he's not interested in Bentley
25 Sep 2013 14:53:26
Absolutely agree with last post. If its TRUE that gfh have told bmd that he has money for players. Bentley is just what we are missing. So why doesn't he do something about it? Losing a bit of faith in him. And with hunt playing as he is at moment. Seems a bit like Warnock. Jobs for the boys!
Bob. Wakefield xx

Anyone know what pubs are allocated tonight for Leeds fans in Newcasle?

il chuck another name in the hat who I think would be perfect for us.
jay rodreigez from southampton.
with there others strikers he isn't getting a look in .shrew leeds
Not sure where you are getting your info from but he has been playing most games and is seen as a major factor this season
25 Sep 2013 13:26:02
BMcD has stated that he would not be interested in signing Bentley because Diouf and McCormack already play a similar role. I like to think I agree with most things that BMcD is doing at the club but I disagree with this assessment. Bentley is a right sided midfielder and therefore would fit in with the diamond formation adopted, Ross and Diouf are more suited to playing at the head of the diamond or up front. Although we have a surplus of midfielders I would argue that Bentley has more quality than what we currently have. Yes he has not played for a while, is not quick and has attitude issues (didn't Diouf!) however he has passing/crossing ability that can hurt the opposition. If BMcD says he can't find wingers then why change the formation just improve the quality within it.
25 Sep 2013 13:09:57
Rumours circulating or just fans wish lists I don't know but the striker joining us on loan could be City starlet John Gudetti. The 20 year old is way down the pecking order at city and has been on loan to Feyenoord and Burnley during the past couple of seasons.
25 Sep 2013 12:58:41
brian mcdermott seems to av lost plot all way through summer saying we need a winger or 2 but now say he doesn't want bentley due to he doesn't want to stockpile a position yet we bought no wingers so he odviously doesn't know what he's doing
Bentley is a right midfielder not a right winger, but I agree that we do not have quality cover for this position

Phil Buckingham, writer for Hull Daily Mail, points out that while Fryatt may be proven in Champioship he's not scored in 17 months. DavisStevo MOT
He's had a serious achilles injury that's the main reason why he hasn't scored in that time
25 Sep 2013 10:14:49
The worrying thing is. That 90% on here new we had no pace or prolific before season started so why did gfh wait till we drop 9 out of 12 and don't score. Surely mcd told them earlier. If they are puting up dosh now, why not a month ago
Think gfh and mcd are doing well but being tight and taking a gamble has cost us.
25 Sep 2013 09:17:13
Looking at Fryatts stats, he averages 1 in 3 games. Is that good enough for us, or do we require someone more prolific.
I can't see what's wrong with 1 in 3. Were a championship team and can hardly attract a Ronaldo or Messi now can we.
Maths answer would be. 46 games in the league. 15 league goals and a few goals in cup would be a 18-20 goals tally for the season
If someone would have said that Varney will get you 20 goals this season as well as the usual 10-14 goals McCormack will pick up we wouldn't be in the hunt for a striker right now
Where not really going to get better than him at this stage of the season his record his better than the strikers we have at the club
Poster 2, exactly what I was going to say :)
I guess that's a fair point and the difference in 1 in 3 and 1 in 2 ain't that much and as long as ther others chip in we will be ok.
Just want to make sure we get the right guy in, becasue its apparent we only have one shot at this (signing a striker).
Poster number 2 here. I'm guessing that poster number 5 is the original poster.
I just wanted to say my reply wasn't aimed at you in the sense I don't think you know what your talking about (far from it) you asked a good question to be fair.
What I would say is though I don't think that Fryatt is the best target to be aiming for, there must be better players out there from Premiership squads who have a similar record who could make more of an impact on the pitch.
Brian knows what he is doing guys. It's good to see a manager in charge of our club who is using his head rather than like Warnock and Grayson did where they bring people in that are terrible on long contracts who we wouldn't be able to give away let alone demand a transfer fee for later down the line.
This season is all about Brian learning about his squad making a few key additions then next summer binning all the crap of the wage bill and bringing in quality to get us to Premiership
have faith guys.
