What makes Bielsa, going to watch Huddersfield tonight to see Carlos get his first win. Great to see . Sure he had a few thoughts on the game!

Pleased for Carlos, which is hard to say, given it’s the dog botherers.

Never thought I would say this, but with us out of this division and Carlos at the helm wish Hudders well. Plenty of our old foes for them to nail. There were signs that Carlos will succeed with our tactics.

That’s the of Bielsa. Bet he’s always there if Carlos needs advice. Can see Carlos returning to LUFC in time.

Woody, if all goes well, I can see Carlos taking over from Marcelo. I bet there was a clause put in his contract to allow him to do so. but I’m not going to bet a tattoo.

For those of us who remember and saw him play for Leeds Peter Hampton as passed away RIP.

Certainly old enough to remember Peter Hampton RIP.

A model professional who played his dependable part in the mid to late 70s Leeds teams. He and Byron Stevenson compared to the so called more glamorous Leeds players were unsung and perhaps unfairly underrated.

He didn't play week in week out, but never let the side down. RIP Peter.

Quality player. 66 it seems. Very sad news we’ve lost another.

It's been an exciting window really. Not just the headline names but the kids coming in as well. For the final week, the creative midfielder is the key for me. Another winger would be a bonus especially a versatile one but if Bielsa was happy to let Stevens go, he is either happy with the cover he's got or pretty convinced someone's coming in. GK, I can live with what we've got. If kiko is still here on his wages he has to be on the bench at least, if we do find a home for him, which I doubt, then bring in an experienced pair of hands. The final loan spot might be useful for this if on the final days of the window one of the big sides has a good number 2/ 3 looking spare!

He let Stevens go because Summerville came in .

25 Sep 2020 21:22:02
I agree Spanish - the window has gone as well as I could have expected. Some quality assets brought in who will hopefully come good and gel with the team. If we can get a good midfielder, preferably a creative midfielder, then this will have been a very successful window in terms of improving bit not completely revamping which can be a problem in itself.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Sep 2020 09:28:02
That’s the key signing now, the creative middy, because as much as I love Pabs, he can’t play the 90 week in week out at the high tempo Bubs requires, for the whole season. One, possibly two more, and it will be the best window for 20 years!

I'm not going to start saying I'm a Barkley fan just because we are linked with him but I feel He could improve our squad .
If we managed to get games and Barkley over the line then that would be a very solid widow.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

25 Sep 2020 13:50:09
I am a Barkley fan! He is so composed on the ball, can turn people inside out, and spot a pass, as well as score goals. It’s a shame his career has been so disrupted by injuries, and that is my biggest concern if he comes here. That said I’d have him with us in a punch, and like you say, that would be the best transfer window we’ve had in a long long time.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is not so much the injuries but why he gets them that should be your concern. He spends far too much time out on the lash and then not working hard enough in training as a result. He has problems, I would suggest avoiding him at all costs as he will do what he did at Chelsea. Clean up his act for a month or two and then gradually go back to normal.}

25 Sep 2020 14:28:44
Agreed Ed001 definitely no to Barkley.

25 Sep 2020 14:39:09
Interesting Ed. wasn’t aware of his off the pitch lifestyle!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is well known in Liverpool as a bad apple mate. That is why he was not a big favourite amongst a lot of the local Everton fans before he left for Chelsea. He was intensely disliked by a lot of them.}

25 Sep 2020 15:03:53
Ed001 Appreciate your class in telling us that information when you are under no obligation to do so. Hopefully, LUFC management are aware. As a club, in my opinion, we shouldn't be having much to do with Chelsea anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I would assume they would take the time to do the research and find out. He was given a big talking to on signing for Chelsea because of it, so it is not a secret in the football world. It is why he never kicked on after emerging at Everton. Shame when talent goes to waste, even when they are at Everton!}

I’d like DePaul. really strong add.

But I’ve always thought Barkley in the right club set upand a chance for regular starting would be a machine.

With Bielsa as coach. I reckon he’d be good for pushing into Southgate’s squad at end of year with a KP-Barkley-Kane spine for England.

DePaul or Barkley would be the added quality we need as Pablo winds down.

Still need a starting left back and a GK.

Get this done . and we’re finishing in top 10.

My vote would be for the lad, Malinovski. He looks to have bags of skill and a bit of a box to box if needed. Should fit in well with Bielsaball.

Lots of talk of creative midfielders.
I think our ongoing pursuit of de Paul shows that the club / Orta / Bielsa know that this is an area we need to strengthen. Based on the 3 heavy £ signings we've made so far, I'm pretty confident that they will succeed in getting in someone of real quality.
For the first time in many years, I really feel we are in safe hands!

The fact they kept going for DePaul shoes how highly they rate him. I still think a deal could be done there, the lad seems keen.

Could Poveda play that Pablo role behind bamford instead of Roberts.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

25 Sep 2020 08:55:43
Melb, bit of a tall order to ask the young lad to play such a pivotal role in the team. I have watched Roberts try to a few times now and he has never looked convincing. Roberts has spells of looking like the real deal, especially with the injection of pace he can bring to the role (speedier than either Henandez or Saiz before him) , but over 90 minutes he is not influential enough yet. I imagine that Poveda would suffer from a similar fate. The young man is just getting to understand his role as a wide player in a Bielsa team. We owe him that much that he isn't confused by new ideas. Personally let's keep Robert's in the role. He progressed in the role last year even though he had his chances sporadically. Hopefully the PL will push him to another level. Also it will allow Bielsa to evaluate if he has a role to play in our future or is he one to offer out the other teams.

I like the fact we are adding to the Championship winning squad and not jettisoning those players for an influx of high profile recruits. In my eyes Rodrigo is the eventual successor to Roofe as I don't believe we ever replaced him for last season. We got lucky with injuries.
Koch replaces White. And Llorente replaces the injured Berardi. Even if we get a de Paul-esque player I still only believe he is a replacement for Saiz, again another player that wasnt replaced at the time and we got lucky with so many games out of Henandez.
Bielsa still keeps his small squad size, with 2 players competing for each position (this doesn't necessarily mean 22 players for 11 positions as most of our players can cover 2 positions to a very good standard) .

25 Sep 2020 10:15:50
When he is older and wiser, yes, but for now he needs to keep learning, and building up match time. I got to say, that this kid is a another class Orta signing, as he will be immense in a few years!

25 Sep 2020 10:47:42
I'd be more tempted to bring Harrison (or Costa) into the Pablo role and replace him with Poveda.
Harrisons work rate would make him a box to box player, his speed and 1st touch are top class.

Good call Canada.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Sep 2020 16:50:47
I'm not convinced. Being a winger is very different to being a playmaker as the playmaker role requires guile and creativity and the ability to unlock a defence with a deft pass or a perfect turn. You also need to be able to score goals and do the unexpected. Not convinced Harrison has shown any of that despite him starting g to become a good winger.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Sep 2020 20:58:01
Err wasnt Pablo a winger?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Sep 2020 01:50:11
Was worried about Radz and trying to do things on cheap.
But he has put in some investment and think we tracking well.
I like that we now have the 4 CB options and looking forward to seeing how and who will play there, maybe 3 at the back?
Still looks like we are in for a creative MF and possibly winger.
Need that siaz, Pablo player to link and create and hopefully that will suit Rodrigo, time will tell.
If being greedy, would like Gk, LB and another striker.
I'd happily let cassila, Douglas, alioski and Roberts go.

I am sure the personnel will change over time, but I hope to not see a massive cull of the Championship squad
Above all discussion on their merits and talents. The collective was close. They fought like a team not a series of disparate individuals. That quality needs to be fostered. Its certainly makes the total greater than the sum of the parts in our case.

Drip fed in new talent. Just don't go back to first principles in your first year in the PL. At the moment this squad does for each other and it allows them to achieve things they couldn't have imagined as individuals. thank you Bielsa

Cooper is a captain, a real man. Takes responsibility. I would take him and his odd mistake over a callow youth who needs to focus on his own improvements

Douglas is in the final year of his contract. He isn't a world beater but he knows how to be a member of the Leeds squad and he knows how to play left back for Bielsa. Give him this year

Alioski seems to be the bounce of the team. Always positive. Look back on how many goals he has scored for us in the last few minutes of games when we were losing. Is defined his character. He never gives up. He drags his team forward.

Casilla has been pilloried and, if its true, quite rightly. However there is no huge queue waiting to buy him so he needs to be kept in the fold until such time. In the meantime he has a wealth of experience that all the squad, not just Meslier, can benefit from. He knows how top top professionals act. Day in, day out. He will have picked up good habits from the very best players in the world. EVER. and our young bloods need to pick his brains and use his knowledge for their development. And as a plus, we are able to blood a young goalkeeper in the PL (look at Henderson's progress) with a backup of an ex Real Madrid and Spainish international. It's not all bad.
