Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

26 Dec 2012 22:22:39
Just watched the highlights online and it might just be me but it looked like Austin was limping(not fully fit). Brown has no pace whatsoever, think we need to sign a centre mid who is good on the ball and has pace. Will Hughes from Derby would be a good signing, as would a player like Nick Powell from but we would never get him on loan. Also I'm glad to see Somma back scoring but we need more pace in midfield. Anyone agree or any suggestions on centre mids to sign. {Ed003's Note - You've got no chance of getting Hughes}

gutttted about today, everytime us leeds fans dare to dream we always get crushed. so deppressing. i just hope GFH show some ambition in january or we are ******. LIAMMOT!!

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Dont worry they will le us down as they have no money. League 1 next stop I am afraid.

Agree1 Disagree19

Get a grip! 15 points from last 21 is hardly relagation form is it? Typical of the knww jerk reactions we vget whenever we lose!

Agree9 Disagree0

Why does everyone on this page always put leeds down if we lose, good fans you are,you should be saying unlucky lads not crap like league 1 next stop!!

Leeds to get George Boyd for £450,000 (Peterborough balancing the books for their £750,000 dwight gayle signing) and Lewis mcgugan (today's sub) for £500,000

Believable2 Unbelievable4

We have no money not even enough to keep tongue, No new signings fact

Agree0 Disagree17

Tonges loan ended you person, if Warnock wants him back he will return next week

Agree5 Disagree1

Do you work on board at leeds, people were saying gfh didnt have money to buy leeds, now they have, people still keep saying we havent got any money, what do you no, what we dont.....

Today we were carp in all areas absolute no pace end of. The only 1 good thing to come out of today was the blue santas great fans still singing while 4 1 down !

I was just thinking that when the new owners took over the other day they said that (in so many words) 'that it was part of the negotiation requirements to buy Leeds that Warnock was incharge.'

Bear in mind that if the interest in the club started near the beginning of the year, does that mean that Grayson was sacked because the new owners wanted the 1991 winner of "Mr Long ball is all I know" to come in before they would entertain a bid.

If thats the case, I question their football prowess...After today its plain to see long ball just doesn't work. I really hope they invest because it so far seems that Grayson was sacked for no reason.

still M.O.T whatever the regime :)

For me McCormack has to start the best overall striker we have. Yess becchio is banging in the goals which is great but he's useless with the ball at his feet. McCormack has made a difference every time he has come on in the last few games but he's only getting ten minutes. I really believe warlock is freezing him out for some reason and I think he is a class act for the championship.

Believable20 Unbelievable0

Ya and I think we should start Ryan hall as well.

Agree5 Disagree0

26 Dec 2012 23:51:36
mccormack will start along side becchio against bolton .at the moment we have becchio for 1 striker position with no real competition but the other striker position has somma ,mccormack and diouf competing so warnock is after competition for becchio so it will have to be someone good in the air good at holding the ball up and scores plenty hopefully have a bit more pace

cant believe forest sacked there manager today maybe they was meant to do better against us .

Believable7 Unbelievable0

I can they conceded two goals to a vey poor leeds side that will do well to stay up. NW out

26 Dec 2012 19:29:29
A lot of talk of different forwards, I would rather spend the money on a central midfielder who can pass the ball better in Midfield, I think with Somma coming back we have 4 good strikers in Becchio McCormack Diouf and Somma who will score plenty of goals between them if they get the supply , Its a shame even Adam Clayton didn't get the chance to play with Austin

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Need a Batty type player. Austin may be ok in Norway but not Championship class

Agree1 Disagree4

He's great is austin was just no where near fit enough against forest

I live in Australia and, as we get little coverage of anything outside the Premiership, am thinking of signing up for LUTV to see more of Leeds games etc.

Can any other users out there let me know if it represents value for money?

Thanks

Believable1 Unbelievable9

You can't watch the games live just commentary and highlights.

Agree3 Disagree1

26 Dec 2012 23:57:25
You can watch some games when they are on for an extra £5 but not sure how many games are shown live just Britain that you can't watch live games via lutv

Agree1 Disagree0

For foxtel? Championship on setanta sports. Costs me an extra $16 a month on top of my normal package (plus IQ so I can tape the games). Leeds feature regularly as they have about 3-4 games a week. Been a good week or so with Chelsea live, Forest live and hull coming up (not live). Hope this helps

Odriscol sacked for hammering us wow c ant believe hoofing ball forward to lone striker is way forward there was no one within 25 yards of becks even if he won the ball we need to play with 2 strikers one with pace

I hope everyone has noticed that Austin isn't good enough. Think people need to wake up & smell the coffee - he is very poor. Been bad in every game. Every time he plays we get outplayed in midfield. It's no coincidence that while he's been out our results have picked up & we looked a half decent side. Now he's back, our midfield is non-existant again. We're easily a better team without him. He is an ineffective player... does nothing! Don't believe the hype! The quicker Warnock realises the better! MOT!

Believable8 Unbelievable17

I thought he was okay at first, i think it was warnocks fault for starting him today maybe to early as he was injured!

Agree6 Disagree0

Not true at all austin will prove you wrong and the other doubters wrong i think people seem to forget he ant played since his injury against watford and then to get thrown in against a tough side like forest isnt ideal.

Agree8 Disagree0

Thats harsh when he has been injured for so long. He does alot of work that most fans do not see.

Agree7 Disagree0

I can only remember austin having 2 bad games this season (bolton and forest) the rest he is an out and out ball winning midfielder, do's that job better than anyone in the championship at the moment!

Agree4 Disagree2

Brown is the midfield issue, not Austin.....warnock needs an athletic midfielder, not a striker {Ed037's Note - No, he needs a playmaker, someone like Andy King or Hoolahan would be perfect}

Agree3 Disagree1

Leeds lack pace to carry threat and compete with better teams. Forwards OK but limited to threat in around box which allows opposition to setup compact and in our face, midfield no pace to carry ball/threat forward and compete with the better midfields, the defence suffers from what team pattern and play results in front of them and their own lack of pace. 4 more good pacey players needed, a lot of teams with better squads. (Forest number 7 was great-unfortunately)

Believable11 Unbelievable0

Well said mate . Your absolute spot on . To say we are desperate for pace is biggest understatement ever . Mot.

Great to see austin back but result was poor...

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Ya great to see him score an OG as well

Agree1 Disagree0

Austin was one of our worst players today. not match fit clearly.

Agree6 Disagree0

Had our best run of results this season without him, why you want him back?

Agree2 Disagree2

Austin not up to it. We need better than him and Brown fact!

Agree1 Disagree2

Can't believe all you people blaming Austin, one of our best players before his injury, he's still class ,just not match fit, get of the guys back and grow up, we lost , get over it

Agree3 Disagree1

Not only wasn't he match fit but not fit at all. he is a class player for this division but he shouldn't have played he needs at least a couple more weeks to gain full fitness.

26 Dec 2012 16:31:54
i still wonder if it's worth the risk of giving Warnock a budget to spend, when he'll be after more of the same as the summer. Di Matteo is still free, let's get some fresh ideas and younger players in.

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Di matteo is the only free manager id swap warnock for.

Agree3 Disagree1

No way warnock's proven track record says it all. now he'll have the resources in jan he will show you what he can do!

i reckon Ross is very P****d off that somma is being brought on before him ok somma needs games but we need the POINTS!

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Must admit I find it very strange that Somma is getting his match fitness in the first team in stead of the development squad. In the process he's keeping Ross out who Warnock knows about...wait a minute, is that what it's all about, Warnock seeing for himself what Somma is capable of before the January window opens?
CJS

Agree1 Disagree2

I personally think its a case of putting somma in the shop window

Agree2 Disagree2

Contract ends in the summer so he's worth nothing in the transfer market. Jones likes him which is why he's there.

Agree0 Disagree2

26 Dec 2012 15:01:40
we must shore up the defence in January.forget forwards we can cope there no we have somma, do that in the summer, but we can't continue letting in so many goals.spend the money on tongue, tate and maybe Thomas, but certainly need one or two really solid defenders, not doubt about that!

Believable4 Unbelievable2

There isn't a single position at the moment that couldn't be improved on. when our standout player is an 18 year old in his first season you know we have problems.

Agree10 Disagree0

Thought we really missed Tonge today. Our midfield was completely devoid of ideas without him. Back to the hoofball...

Need two new centre half and two new centre midfielders and a new manager

Odriscoll hit the nail on te head in post match interview.........'even when we went one down, we knew we had far more athletic players and could wear leeds down'........not sure if we can class brown, green tongue and norris athletic, only Austin fits that label?

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Disagree Austin is not good enough either. I would have started Norris

just watched the game it really wasnt tate's day i believe he made us conceade a few of the goals today and shoud have been subbed early on. we should of shut the game down early on before letting forrest get the upper hand. blackstock's goal could have been stopped maybe but tate didnt even jump. i dont dislike tate i just believe it wasnt his day to day.
mot!! we are going up!!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Austin shouldnt of been played... should of been rested still not fully fit and it really showed today. even scoring in his own goal saying get me off please

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Dec 2012 14:36:31
we really missed tonge today IMO, was a bit of a bold clal starting Austin when hes not even fit, Norris wouldve suited it better, and to take off a midfielder for a defender at 4-1 down is silly, you want to try and salvage something at all costs, id rather see us conceed 7 and at least go for it rather than try and limit the damage when we all know we have goals in us

and if Warnock says hes not dissapointed and we did ok one more time im gonna scream lol

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Think when Pearce replaced Rudy,Byram moved up into midfield and lees covered RB spot.
Somma was great!

26 Dec 2012 14:34:15
On way back from forest now, have to say we were rubbish in all areas. Thomas is crap just aidy white in disguise! However, Drury was our m.o.m in my opinion and is miles better than pelts. Could do with signing a cm, st, winger. I'd have Stephen Ireland, gradel, macail-smith.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

26 Dec 2012 14:32:33
on todays game... great to see somma back and scoring but why was austin starting? hes been out injured and should have had to earn his place again if others do... why mc'cormack on the bench? why white on the bench? why the hell is brown in the team never mind the squad?? hes garbage.. we looked flat and disinterested, no bite and no comunication!! warnock seemed to get it all wrong today, we never put a ball behind forrests back line on the deck and diouf drops too deep.. if thats his natural game get rid of brown play diouf in midfield to knit the play and play ross or somma up with becchio because we look like we are always struggling to breach defences from knock downs and through balls........ thaughts?? leeds4life

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Even if fully match fit I can't see the point in having Austin AND Brown as starting cm's. One or the other but not both together.

Woeful, awful, shocking, lacklustre and negative 75 mins I've seen this season, first 15min was very good but we turned off and went home after out goal, Austin was way off pace ANC shouldn't of been on pitch but what do you expect coming back from injury, Bryam was ripped apart down right side, forest walked threw our midfield, don't want to be too dishearten but I can see it been a very hard Christmas period.

nice to see Austin on the team sheet. Welcome back.

Believable1 Unbelievable11

Austin is garbage no technique, skill or possession. We always let teams play when he plays. If him and Brown are to start games then our season will fail drastically. Not enough quality to keep the ball. We allow teams to have numerous chances against us and we are so liable to a thrashing! Middlesboro could of had 4 or 5. Why can't we take the game to oppostion and play possession football?! We look such a poor side against some teams, i dont understand it

Agree6 Disagree5

Agree with the second poster - baffled at how he's gained such a cult following, and that's nothing to do with today. I've been saying for ages on here how he wins the ball but is poor in possession. Nearly always gives the ball back.

Thought Warnock's inadequacies were thoroughly exposed today. No flair, no pace, no imagination.

Mccormack and beccio to score and byram, well for starters it would help if mccormack actually started the bloody game mate, byram still at right back when would be better up top and you cannot rely on one man beccio. your prediction a little wide of the mark cos at the moment we are getting a pasting. Brown and Austin in midfield what do you expect not good enough. Why is warnock keeping the most gifted goal scorer on the bench i presume a few good results and its easy to forget we are no bloody barcelona. please can we get rid of deadwood and invest in jan!

Seen a few home games recently where we are not playing brilliant but getting results.everyone seems to be thinking we will get a positive result today, this is when we usually slip up? Players may be tired? Warnocks rigid tactics may come under severe pressure today? A Leeds fan with loads of doubt. Will we win today? predictions pls. Merry Xmas.mot.

Two tough games coming up this week, Forest and Hull away.
I ve heard some predicting or even expecting us to win both.
Although I d love this, I think it s important that with what's happened over the last month, we don t get too carried away.
Realistically, if we can pick up a draw or win in either of these, it would be a fabulous performance.
All I m saying is let's not get all doom and gloom if we lose one or both. In the grand scheme of things, there s still a long way to go. The gaffer said he hoped we d be a few points off play off s by Xmas. Well, he s delivered so far. Let's get behind the lads, win, lose or draw.
The futures looks bright.
Right, now having said that, I m going to predict today's result with my heart, not my head. 3-1 win. diouf, Bechio and McCormack... Back home for turkey and brussels left overs... That ll do nicely for a top boxing day.
Suuuuper, super Leeds.
