Not a rumour I would just like to say although it is nice to see big money signings arrive I believe when some fans go on about spending loads it doesn't mean we will do well look at QPR they are doing rubbish. For me I believe we need hungry players trying to make their Mark on the game we love.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

After all the players that have been taken out the club. I as a long standing fan, want to see some good players put back in. Why should we keep settling for average players, while good ones leave.
3 good players is all it will take, they don't have to be world beaters just good. Then your idea of bringing in young hungry players from lower down or academy, will work a treat then because then we would have players for them to learn off and grow into. What would they learn from half of this team?
GFH, do this and I and many others will be back in a flash. The reason why, is because we will BELIEVE AGAIN!!! Don't worry about getting promoted quick, just show ambition and look like we want it. that's all most of us ask and the money will pay for its self.
Is it going to be HIGHER OR LOWER in 5 days time? YOU DECIDE!!

Lets be realistic, there's what 4 days of transfer window left...chances are becchio will go at the end of the season despite the transfer request as he is still on contract..likelihood is that we won't make any top signings in this window, so stop kidding yourselves. We will finish the season as we are, if we go up, great, if not then Warnock will leave, so will becchio and we will get a new manager who is hopefully given a bit of cash...not many people want to do deals in January...so if we don't get behind the lads, Warnock or board will make panic buys and get in some complete pile of rubbish. come on you whites, let's beat another prem side!

Looks like this guy is on his way.MOT

Tested there ten days by the English club Leeds United FC, François Brand had found the IGESA this week. But the coach of the club also wants to review the match-Bastia defender at work.
It will be retested throughout the coming week.

For me why don't we put in a bid for Vydra at Watford? He is on loan there. Not sure if you can bid on a player that is on a season long loan so please correct me on this. If so then maybe he is one for the summer. Cracking player and whilst we are at it lets get their manager Zola on board too. He has them playing the kind of footy that I would like Leeds to play play. Anyway good news on little Sam Byram today, shame we have to feed on scraps. Mot

It's been said on here a number of times and now I am starting to believe it. GFH are going to give Warnock no money for permanent signings this winter. Instead I can see a load of loan signings to plug gaps until the summer, then when a new manager is brought in the purse strings will be opened.
Even if Becchio is sold this window which is looking more and more likely I doubt Warnock will see any of the money and we will have to get a loan player to cover his position too.
However I would be happy with this approach to the rest of the season, I can't think of any Warnock signings apart from Austin who have been any good and it would be a waste of money to let him sign anymore permanent players.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

I Agree, but GFH should talk to the fans and let us know if these are their plans, most of us would accept this if a longer term plan was in place and most of those who do not grace ER road at the moment would return. Honesty is the key for GFH

Agree3 Disagree1

Diouf is his best signing by far for me and Austin has lost his way for me after his injury.

Agree3 Disagree3

Peltier has been a good signing when he has played at CB and Green has done fairly well. The rest have been average at best.

Agree1 Disagree3

Spot on, I agree with you (original poster). It seems common sense to me, if I owned Leeds Utd I certainly wouldn't be giving money out Willie nilly knowing that the next manager will have his own philosophy on the type of player needed. Anyhow, GFH are an investment COMPANY, so are concerned with 'the bottom line', so they won't have acres of money to cover two spending sprees in a short period of time (now and summer).

It sounds to me like Becchio's hand has been forced, it looks like Colin has minipulated the situation and Beccio has had enough. I don't believe he has been offer 20K a week but I do believe he would like to play for Leeds in the prem and he has realised that will never happen (the players will know more than we do about transfers in or out and he see's no future at Leeds). I know he is replaceable there are better out there but will we replace him with better?? McCormack is more than capable to run the front line but a high profile player would revive some faith in the fans and that would be reflected at the turnstyles.

some of you people are pathetic, becchio is worth 20k+ and as we cnt offer anymore than 20k then becchio needs 2 leave and better himself at a higher level as he's been our best player for the past 2/3 years. as 4 wanting warnock sacked that's even more stupid as he aren't been given any funds yet so he's not magic, I seen someone wanted grayson back lol give your head a wobble. we as fans should be supporting the team, as i'm afraid warnock knows far more about management than any of us on here.

Believable8 Unbelievable13

Warnock does know more than us about management and as he has said in the past how he totally dislike Leeds, it is easy to see he is making no attempt to get us promoted but just to see out his last season and take to cash. He has chosen the players and he shipped out Graysons players this is his team, don't give me the no money rubbish at this level you have to get the best out of the players and he is certainly not doing that at all. Ridiculous hoofball is disheartening for some of the better players and certainly for the fans. As a swansong Colin is minipulating Beccio out of Elland Road (who has been Leeds most consistant player over the last few seasons) .
Warnock can't leave soon enough for me!

Agree10 Disagree2

Agree in part with both comments - I do not believe a word Warnock says, he hates Leeds and is a s**t stiring trouble maker - the sooner he F**ks off the better - Becchio has been if not our best then certainly one of the best players for the last few years - forget Bates, Warnock & individual players they will all come and go its Leeds United that we support so let's show it (it may be painful at times but we all still will remain MOT) {Ed013's Note - Mate there is no way Warnock would take this job to ruin the club just because he dislikes Leeds!}

Agree3 Disagree1

ED: explain warnocks team selections, style of football and some of his signing of old mates who clearly arn't good enough. A final payday for him and some of his cronies. I know read it and weep. don't forget this is the fans fault for being negative or have you forgotten already.
Warnock needs to go he is poison {Ed013's Note - I agree some of his selections are terrible, but if he sorted the away form out and carried on the home form, although its hard on the eye's, he would be in the top 6. Not bad for someone that hates Leeds}

Agree2 Disagree0

ED: this is what stops him being found out! win some lose some, change the team when we have won a couple back to back, the man is a genius.
We have the players that can make the play offs but we wont?? Digs at the fans, changing a winning team, critising players (becchio) cutting out ball players by hitting the long ball. I am willing to bet that if another manager came in with the same squad we would have better results. When Warnock first came, I appreciate it was not his team but his record was attrocious far worse than Graysons, I thought this fella was an expert in man management and getting the best from players?? Sorry ED your wrong on this one. {Ed013's Note - Ok I give in, Neil Warnock is here to ruin Leeds United}

Why don't we just offer Luciano Becchio 1million and then the prem wages we supposedly offered him? I don't see the problem because it is easy going to cost 1million+ to replace him.

FozzyLUFC

Believable1 Unbelievable13

Slightly flawed logic there. If he leaves we will receive a transfer fee, we can use those funds to sign his replacement. So it may not cost us £1m, or anything for that matter, dependant on the fee agreed

Since we won't sign anyone today or tomorrow due to the FA Cup the equation becomes 3 quality signings in 3 days. Every Leeds fan knows that's 1 every day. Tall order for the Harvey. ive been a firm supporter of Warnock but enoughs enough, the way in which he's gone about the Becchio situation is disgusting, he's pretty much put him in the shop window along with Mick Jones, if neither of them 2 had said anything, maybe we wouldn't be in this situation, let him go in the summer and give Grayson his job (which he shouldve never lost) back and let him take the club he loves to the promised land!

Believable8 Unbelievable10

Some people have a very short memory, this time last year everyone was calling for Grayson's head, just been sacked again after a run of 12 games without a win, definitely not the man to take us forward.

Agree6 Disagree2

It says 'banter' at the top of the page not rumors ? have you missed the last 4 to 8 years of lies from our chairmen, selling our best players, dire football, premiership prices, and dwindling crowds? I think us Leeds fans can moan as much as we want as we have plenty of reasons to do so.

Agree4 Disagree2

The defence and tactics are bad enough as it is, Grayson is not the man to get us up.

Agree5 Disagree0

I think if we look at it simply its just a case of him realising he could earn more before his retirement which will in the next few years. Its got nothing to do with NW or MJ or GFH nobody is forcing anybody to do anything its just the current state of financially driven football of today, get over it its not the first and it won't be that last time!

Why wait till the summer and then have the situation where you have a new manager, looking at a squad that Colin left. There will be another bout of changes in personnel, which is a waste of money usually. A team that will need time to gel AGAIN when they could have had the last half of this season to do that.

Hope Leeds use part of the Becchio money to buy Dundee Utd skipper Jon Daly.
His contract runs out at the end of the season so although Dundee Utd won't want to sell, I think they'll pretty much feel they have to at far below his value.
A solid player, leadership skills, good goalscoring record. Almost a straight replacement for Becchio (although Daly tends to stay on his feet more often).
Would cost much less in wages, can play in defence as well, so better squad player and would leave us enough money in the kitty to buy a marquee signing like Mad Max

I agree with most people that it will, be sad to see Becchio go, great servant to Leeds in tough times. Also I wish him well wherever he ends up, the lad deserves a crack at prem football. Something we cannot offer currently.
Also I think it will not be a disaster him going in spite of his impressive goal return. ( a small handful of which were penalties btw).
The way we play at present is with Becchio at the leading edge of our attack, so far this season he has been the target man for everything we do. Not surprising therefore his goal return is so impressive. If we replace him with a player who can play on the ground a bit, who can bring others into play a bit more what might result from this more of a distribution of goals between fwd's and mfd's. A player who will give defenders a bit more to think about.
Rarely does a team win anything where you have one player scoring the bulk of goals. More of a concern is the games where we have hardly managed to get a shot on target in 90 mins. This is Symptomatic of a much deeper malaise in the team/squad. Poor tactics and depending how the t'fer window ends a lack of ambition as far as this season is concerned. On this latter point I will reserve judgement until midnight jan 31st.

Also still a concern is Bates loitering in the background, worried about him informing or contributing to any decisions gfh are making. Perhaps i'm paranoid, any thoughts?

Believable11 Unbelievable7

Well when it happens we won't be moaning will we, but after watching the same crap for the last 10 years( apart from the div 1 promotion)we have every right to moan.

Agree11 Disagree2

Ive been watching the same crap as everyone else has. I'm not likely to change my allegiance after 45 years. We are prem club out of the prem. We will be back

Agree9 Disagree0

My loyalty to LUFC is beyond question. More so than Becchio, Howson, Snodgrass and many many others. I've been there through 2 relegations and I intend to have witnessed 3 promotions.I come on this site to see what rumours are around. Ok most are a mile off and there are some highly amusing ones. To be honest I get sick of seeing the moans and conspiracy theories. I understand and feel the frustration of 10 years of rollercoaster (but mainly frustration). Risdale started this sticky ball rolling with his wild schemes and delusions of grandeur. I for one don't want to see this happen again by buying over-priced players or over-paid prima-donnas (Brolin, Sharpe, White, Seth Johnson, Fowler et al). We can not sustain a large group of players on 20,000 a week at this time. Not without a large cash injection and initial losses. I don't think GFH are gamblers. Also where do we think changing managers mid season is going to get us? We are not under threat of relegation, just low on patience for the good times to return. I'd rather be a Leeds fan than a fan of Bristol City or Peterborough, or Barnsley

Why not max Clayton from Crewe young and I think would score plenty of goals and got bags of pace him with McCormack just behind slideing balls through could be good?

I wouldn't offer Becchio 20k a week anyway? we could get someone 10x better on that wage

So what your saying is we are going to sign a player that will score 190 goals in half a season for 20 k pw .

Agree6 Disagree4

I would definitely someone £20k a week if they scored 190 goals in half a season... that's totesamaze!!... probably puch to £21k lol

I would be happy with a striker who could score 190 goals in 6 seasons never mind half a season.

Murray and Austin have scored more than be becchio but bet they're not on 20k a week. neither as asked for a transfer as far as i'm aware! Karl mot

Do we actually have money to spend? Was looking forward to this transfer window, signing some high quality players that could push us on into the playoff places. If anything our squad is going to be weakened with the loss of Becchio . Seems to be a lot of rumours but nothing concrete. We need to be to busy thus week otherwise I can see us falling down the table rather than progressing up it and back into the premier league where a team with Leeds United's stature should be! Hopefully a heroic performance and an amazing atmosphere at ER on Sunday will give us a well needed boost and tempt new players to come to play for Leeds. MOT

Got a gut feelingwere going to get some one from qpr just waiting for them to get players in first. Hope its faulin. Although warnock has his faults can't blame him for players not comming its up to harvey to do that and sell our club to them which let's be honest he's usless a. Over last 5 years or so this has always been the problem operating with a rubbish budget. Now we have a bigger budget apparentlyt we still arrive at the same place. The man has seriously under performed and needs to xxxk off

So tell me, honestly why is everyone surprised with what's going on at our beloved club. a saying springs to mind which is:

Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose

translated it means

the more that things change the more they stay the same.

No communication, players leaving, empty promises of marque signings, promotion to the prem.....need I say more.

in who do we trust now?

If we can offer beccio 20k a week bring Becford back same wages

Ime not slating becchio for 1 minute. he's been a great servent to our great club BUT 20 k a week is more than enough for a striker who lacks pace and doesn't have the best touch in the world . 20k a week = 1 million a year . I reacon he should of sighned that contract . But good luck to the lad anyway . Mabey if we can start paying 20k a week we can start going places again . Mot.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

I love Becchio but if he wants to leave then this is the time to bring back Beckford. Huddersfield are without a manager and he is only on loan there. Warnock should give it a go. Even Beckford knows Leeds are much bigger and better than Huddersfield

What would happen if gfh spent silly money in jan then it comes to summer and warnock leaves and the next manager is left with all his poor signings and gfh say sorry we've done all our signings for the year what then? Think about it they've got money just not willing to give it this particular manager. And with the current players we've got eg brown drury tonge we wouldn't have a chance in premier league. So I say finish as high as possible then bring good young manager and give him the chance of building a better team so when we get back to where we belong we can stay there and not be laughing stocks.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Why not bring in new manager now and let him decide who good and who
Not so good then let him go shopping
In the summer

Agree0 Disagree2

Because they would after pay warnock off and probably pay more that way then letting his contract run out.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed, correct me if i'm wrong but if you release a player/ manager you pay his contract up, full amount no more no less. So if we was to get rid of warnock, it would cost us the same as letting his contract run till summer ? {Ed013's Note - Not really, if you release someone they can take you to court for Unfair dismissal, but you can come together in an agreement to settle the contract that both parties will sign. If the Manager gets sacked then he is entitled to his contract being paid up, but the 2 parties usually come to a settlement figure. As far as I know, Neil is still on a month by month rolling contract. He may have signed one since the last time I spoke with him, but it never got announced}

I hope Luciano Becchio doesn't get a bad reception tomorrow, he's honest in what he wants.....he's been with us for years and scored goals every season, so he's served his time in the football league well, and he knows that Leeds aren't going to the Premiership this season, he's thought of his family and wanting to have one last big payday and a crack at a higher level of football. I don't blame him, he's not done a Beckford and thought he was too good for the club so put in a transfer request and no effort on the pitch, he's puts his heart into his performances for our club, the bloke is a legend and I for one will be said to see him go, yes we may get a good sum for him and buy a better all round striker, Becchio isn't the best footballer in the world but he does his job properly and his work rate has made him a fan favourite! I wish him well for how future and hope him and his family have a good stable life!

Thanks for everything Luciano!

To the last poster, yeh he has done a lot for our club but I think Leeds United have done just as much for Becchio in all honesty. If he doesn't want to stay then good riddance. 20k is more than enough.

20k 4 becchio is poor he's miles better than most in this league simple as that

Don't turn up on Sunday. Show GFHI and Smurfy who's boss. We the fans are. If you don't invest our money wisely you don't get paid. I reckon a couple of weeks no show will make them realise the true spirit of LUFC

Yh gr8 idea, stay at home and let us true leeds fans go

It won't help on sunday certainly as all the armchair fans are going to show up anyway and it won't have your desired impact.

Am sure turning eland road even more morbid will tempt better players to come, let's fill the place sing our hearts out (positively)and show everyone why we are best fans in the world.Eland rd is becoming a depressing place to go do you not think that affects players, whatever we think of them they are wearing the White shirt when they are struggling they need us to sing louder not boo.
