I'm hearing from a friend who works at Lancaster Gate that the FA are appalled at the crowd trouble that marred the media darlings cup tie between West Ham and Chelsea. A spokesman said "Nobody wants to see a Landan team eliminated, someone will pay". Rumours that a decision to reinstate Chelsea have been confirmed in place of a randomly selected team who play in white from Yorkshire with an Italian chairman. Oh yeah and Cellino will be banned for two years as punishment for failing to control the crowd, for the post pound slump pre Brexit and The Lord Lucan's disappearance in 1974. Bugger, just when I thought things were getting better! MM.

Both clubs will definitely get a severe telling off. They might even be made to sit on the naughty step for a few minutes!

i heard mc also faces trail for negligence on the sinking of the titanic and speading of the black plague. all fines will hit LUFC accounts and we may be given a three points deduction for every life lost in both tradidies.

Gary Monk has created some team spirit at ER. Every player on the pitch played for the shirt. Not every player had a great game but you could see the effort. Times are changing!

it is a shame that MC dithered about replacing big Steve. Had Monk being appointed six weeks earlier I am sure we would be up there alongside Newcastle.

Pontus an inspired buy but almost as much okane imo. The lad has beem immense since he arrived. let's hope he can pull another2 or 3 out of the hat in January.

What do fellow leeds fans think to grimes and mowatt last night?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

They must be shot forthwith.

26 Oct 2016 18:49:26
Mowatt needs to go out on loan if it is thought he has potential if he hasn't he needs to go, permanently, as quickly as possible. He wasn't all bad last night but we need better. I donโ€™t know about Grimes. I saw him when he was younger and as far as potential went he was up there with the Cooks, Taylors, Byrams etc. Better in some respects. However, like Mowatt, he now looks poor. Monk might think he can get him back to where he should be but unless you know whatโ€™s happened to him itโ€™s hard to call. Keep him here and he doesnโ€™t improve itโ€™s a waste of money and a place for one our youngsters. Let him go back and he shines somewhere else we could have missed a gem.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 20:26:10
Apart from the pen miss I thought Grimes did ok last night, I think ER is a difficult place when the fans are not totally on your side we should give aฤบl the lads our support when they wear the shirt and try to give their best.

Agree4 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 20:55:37
I agree Hess. I saw grimes twice last season and thought he was a very good prospect. Unlike some i'm prepared to give the lad a chance. As for last nights game. Last season we would of lost that 3 or 4 nil after that first half hour. We've come bundles since then. MOT.

26 Oct 2016 11:59:08
Well that was worth every penny. Sylv kept us in with some great saves then shut them out in the shoot out. Defence buckled down after a dodgy start. Viera never stopped and roofe played well. Mowatt was mowatt but grimes was a bit dissapointing. Chance to impress and he fluffed it. Overall good team effort from our second team. Was glad to see phillips and sacko come on though. Wood and Ant scoring top night.

I've said it before I'm a bit biased towards Alex Mowatt (being from my home village and all that) but I thought he was OK last night. Ok he missed the one with his wrong foot but it wasn't exactly a tap in. But he did clear a certain goal off the line when Silvestri completely beaten. I know a couple of years ago we thought he was going to be a superstar and it hasn't quite worked out that way but I also don't think he's as bad a some make out. I think a lot of us on here are just picking on everything he does wrong and ignoring anything he does right. (Not a lot of that at the moment I know) With some players it's all about confidence, and I'm sure he reads all the negative comments on social media. Maybe he would benefit from our support rather than giving him grief all the time.

26 Oct 2016 13:11:03
I've just seen Mowatts miss on video (saw it live last night from side on) and I want everything I've just said to be retracted. He should never play football for Leeds again, ever!

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 14:29:16
Mowatt struggled on the right of midfield last night, he offered coyle very little in terms of protection, he also is very guilty of ball watching at times and allowing people to run off him and get in behind us far too easily, it's hard to say what his best position is really, it almost seems like monk is trying to fathom that out himself, I think he's a good yard short of pace to play championship standard, must be frustrating for him when he came through with cook, Bryan and Taylor and they have all moved up a level and developed.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 16:03:44
you've got to earn the shirt and he's just not doing it. you even say yourself that he's not doing a lot right. you can't carry passengers in midfield in this league even if you've come through the academy.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 10:36:21
Great win (mowatts miss aside) must say whe it went to pens I was glad it was silvestri in goal rather than Green. Looks like his overall game is improving too, working with Green and the coaches under Monk. Always a good shot stopper, could be a very good keeper if he gets his all round game to the same standard. Green is 36 so great to have Marco ready for stepping in.

We managed to break the run. Normally if we have a big crowd, a big game or closing in on the play offs we lose. Tonight we changed that. Three points off the play-offs - let's hope we can continue and beat Burton on Saturday and get closer still.

We are maturing and becoming more cohesive. The player who is impressing me the most is Chris Wood. He is coming on leaps and bounds imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 15:33:03
Definitely improving from a low base. Can't argue with wood's goal tally even with the penalties. Would like to see him leaping a bit higher and bounding a bit further. We still don't create enough or convert our chances to goals. Apparently our conversion rate is one of the lowest which is worrying because we don't create that many to start with. Still its getting better all the time. Interesting to see where we are and what happens in January. Mowatt needs to be out on loan to see if he can make the grade.

Lol agree George lad, if I were Mowatt I'd hire a fitness sprint coach and be banned from using my left foot until the right improves ๐Ÿ˜ต Halloween howler of an open goal as for grimes he really doesn't seize his chance does he! Shocker penalty, Top night and top drawer saves from Marco, Bermo will love Woody even more than he does already, good to see beradi back to his snarling snappy best, he really can play left side, shame for Coyley who was doing well, Viera has grown brilliantly with Monk lads coaching, the boys fighting spirit was Superb to watch, so glad we beat them They irritate me as a club they come across as a cocky lot, who seem to enjoy taking our best players at will and think it's their right to assume they will automatically bounce back to the PL just because it's Norwich Grrr, ๐Ÿ˜ก great cup game to watch and really hope we get that manky bunch that rhymes with Bum ๐Ÿ˜‚ at ER beat them and I will dreaming of making my first trip to new Wembley! Newcastle game is booked and even managed to persuade the wife to come and sit next to me ๐Ÿ˜‚ a speedy goal poacher striker and back up speed merchant winger in Jan and we will be ready for a real attempt for the playoffs but why not automatic place! Come on the whites another 3 points Saturday and a repeat performance to stuff them budgie smuggling flappy lot down on their patch. Mot people ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

I got a question for you all. Who should play in nets on Saturday? The middle colour of rainbow or the Silver Vest?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Oct 2016 05:57:26
It's a good question George, silvo did his chances no harm, last night he is without question a top drawer Shot stopper and I really hope he is determined to improve his command of the box and distribution, to be fair to the lad his kicking last night was no nonsense! Must have picked up some tips from the janssonator! If he continues to do that I would put him back in, mind you greeno has settled down with the Hadrian wall that is Barts and Pontus in front of him, so can't see him dislodging him just yet, GM will stick with him unless injury or suspension gives the cat his chance,

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 06:55:31
I'd put silver vest back in . I really think if green had been in goal they'd have won the shootout. He's took his chance time for him to get a run now surely.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 10:45:25
I'd stick with Mr Green, he doesn't just command his area, he commands the whole pitch, have a listen to him when we have a corner :) and, he's only got a 12-month contract so time for young Silvestri yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 11:43:13
Green is showing his class and experience this season. Good to see Silver is improving but he isn't as steady as Greeny yet so I would stick with Green - he is I still making game winning saves and contributing well to the team. We would have a few less points in the bag so far if it wasn't for the Greenster.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 15:34:44
Also who should start at left back? I thought Berradi was far better last night than Taylor has been this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 15:18:50
It's a tricky one but fair play to the Silver vest to come in out of the cold and put in a performance like that. Monky certainly has all the players on his side at the moment. Long may that continue. I'd thought he taken a massive and unnecessary risk last night, but when a risk pays off I'm not complaining.

Sounded a cracker last night. Woke up at 4am. Checked phone. Saw 1-1, thought. Might be a replay. ( been out the country too long ) . Got up at 6 and tv said extra time. Then saw result. Well done lads. Dug in and made us all proud. My preferences for winnable home tie. Easiest first Man U. If they win Hull Southhampton Newcastle Chelsea Man city. If they win. Liverpool Arsenal.
