I see Barnsley have signed Jack Buckland. Could we sign anyone? Please? {Ed013's Note - How about bob backlund}

26 Sep 2013 22:03:11
Yes we'll sign jack sh*t as usual!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed thinks he's funny but flipperlincs is dead, right. Look at all the business been done in last few months/weeks. a joke for a club of our size. Jesus we are bottom of the lot. Brum, Barsnley, and lots more are getting players in. Sorry to moan but i'm sick of asll the rubbish. MOT {Ed013's Note - I spent many days as a comedian}

Agree0 Disagree0

Bob backlund? he's nearly as loopy as Warnock that guy lol

brilliant fans last night, you have to take the positives out of the game! we played some good stuff, we hit the bar, other than the goals we were solid defensively, we have potential this year, its coming just a bit of unity and a clinical finisher and I think were there! last year it was just a big hump so there was nothing we could work with! there were many positives, and potential MOT!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

At last a sensible quote, more of these please. Fans were great too.

Hi all fellow Leeds fans, was at the match last night against the Toon. Would have been criminal to miss the opportunity of watching super leeds considering it was in my 'backyard' so to speak as just had to travel from Northumberland!.

Unfortunately was in the Toon end as a work colleague had a spare ticket, this was torture, sight and sound of fellow leeds fans in upper opposite stand singing marching on together, we all love leeds etc and I had stand there . stum, zip, AAARGH.

Our supporters were fantastic.

Just wanted to comment about Matt Smith and some of the other leeds players performance. Matt Smith was totally out of his depth last night, he looked clumsy, heavy, and lethargic IMO. I was hoping he would have been replaced at half time, he's a big lad, he should win most aerial battles but he was struggling to win anything. Newcastle were good last night and maybe I'm being harsh on Smith as up against premiership opposition. Dom Poleon is going to be a top player one day but he is a couple seasons off the polished article,

Ross McCormack is a class player and he didn't put a foot wrong last night held his own easily. Was great to see young Sam Byram back and he had a good game, Leeds played much better in the second half but it's the usual frustration there was no outlet when going forward. Any crosses into the Toon box were poor, if we had the quality to supply a quality finisher we could have scored easily last night as their defence wasn't brilliant by any means.

It's difficult being patient but I know shouting the odds about lack of players coming in doesn't help. Support the team support the manager.

LUFC always

if leeds sign a striker then we can play varney left wing with byram on the right and peltier at right back. with ross to play with the new striker

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Warnock tried playing Varney on the left. it was an appalling mistake. He can't pass or cross a ball, major failing for a winger. The old square pegs in round holes issue with our current attacking line.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate, difference between a winger and a right mid, wingers can't cross

BMcD's faith in his strike force is commendable however it could also be his downfall as we have forwards who are not good enough. Player's like Varney, Hunt, Smith and Poleon are ok back up players but we are having to use them as our leading line. GFH have indicated that funds are available for additions however we are no further in completing any deals. This beggars the question as to whether there are no funds or BMcD is reluctant to spend them

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Actually it beggars the question as to whether the right player is available. I love you positive sorts.

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course you are right, Macheda, Sharp, Lingard, none of these players were what we needed and how could we compete with the financial weight of Doncaster or Birmingham in trying to secure these players. Second poster, there is a big difference between being negative and being realistic. You are living in a land of sunshine and rainbows if you believe that the players stated are of the quality that will get us promoted. Remember that this a 2 year plan therefore BMcD will need to build on what we have got not build an entire new team next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney's done well!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Varney has had a good start to the season however he is not capable of scoring 20 league goals a season. This is what is required if Leeds are to push for promotion (this year or next)

We are all going to need hell of a lot of patience this season, As for me I will support leeds united always even if they are relegated, I cannot help it, they are in my blood after going to watch them for 54 years. Yes I would love better players, yes I would love to not lose a match, but don't ever ask me to stop supporting the team I love. {Ed013's Note - Good post}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have been a supporter for over 50 years and I agree entirely. I do think we have the right man in BMD and the owners have done good things.
Steve H.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said mate its about time a few more of are fans felt the same way just back the club its not a lot to ask for is it

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we all support leeds don't we? that's why we are on here. Whether I have supported leeds for 50, 30 or 1 yr dosent matter. I think mcd will lead us to the prem. I also think losing 4 out of 5 games sucks. I also think blaming not getting penalties is pointless. And I also think our strikers are not up to it. that's just me and my opinion. Not negative just opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said, someone with a bit of patience & being realisitc.
Rome wasn't built in a day, especially if there was a lot of demolishing to do before hand.
In McD & GFH I trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

In support of fellow fans, have watched LUFC since the age of 12 and am now 56, fair bit of joy and a lot of dissapointment during that time but would never support anyone else. I love football but if I stopped watching Leeds would probably stop watching football period!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the original poster & said something similar on here the other wk about being patient. We can't spend what we've not got & we can sign loadsa players - it's going to by a gradual thing over this season & the next couple. I can live with that. Personally I'm happier than last season although it's obvious we've still a long way to go.l - can't do it all immediately.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive supported the whites since 1485

Was at the game last night, even though the football wasnt the best, we was keeping possession well and was looking for that killer pass. don't think Matt Smith is our answer to a striker. We need someone with intelligence, who knows when to run behind strikers and run onto the balls being fed through by McCormack, Diouf even Byram etc.

On a positive note the fans were outstanding! Makes me proud to be a Leeds fans for our non stop support even if we are losing 2-0!, completely outsang the so called 'toon army', even though someone on there banter page thinks they outsung us? (would like to know what the noise was like for someone not at the game and was streaming it)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It was if leeds were at home if i'm honest also think we deserved a goal! so unlucky

Agree0 Disagree0

Away fans nearly always outsing the home fans it happens at Elland Road pal.

Agree0 Disagree0

No they don't name the last set of fans that outsung us at at home

Hi guys.

Was at the game last night! From what I saw we did not play bad we just have no creativity in the final 3rd. I didn't think Mowatt gave a good account of him self and maybe should have been sent off for the poorly timed tackle in the second half. Douif did well when he came on for Poleon who's first touch was poor all night! but all in all we didn't get battered! apart from the 2 good goals I think it was pretty even.

Oh and it was smashing to see the CHESHIRE WHITES coach on the A1! thanks for the leeds salute guys as we over took past in a blue fiesta!

serious problems if we lose at millwall

Believable0 Unbelievable0

In your own mind pal. We are in transition and will come good. You won't like that though as you'll have nowt to whinge about.

Bmd is really good at picking his teams head up and getting them firing on all cylinders so I feel confident we will finish somewhere near top 6 this season and probably top 6 next season

great atmosphere at the game, great turn out.
its ok saying the fans are great and what a turnout but what about keeping it that way and giving us something back.
look at what is poss gfh and add to the squad.
otherwise things will go downhill quickly, the diehards will always be here but look at the brighton game and what the crowd can do.
people are fickle and turn off very quickly and as we stand some are reaching for that turn off button,
stop them, do something or it will be another fizzle out. everyone can see what is needed. shrew leeds

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We just can't keep buying players, get a grip ffs. We have to shift a lot of dead wood out first and may have to wait till next year. that's unless you would like to invest.

Agree0 Disagree0

I will support leeds whatever and go even if relegated.
but my point was the amount of fans that switch off after 4 defeats in 5.
am I right in saying there were 33 at brighton then 26 at burnley, so that's a 20% plus drop already.
this is fact and we don't want to be getting just the die hard season ticket holders come xmas. shrew leeds

Question the logic in having our best strker behind our second and third best strikers. Need mcd up front
Am very dissapointed our obvious lack of creativity, pace and goals hasn't been sorted already.
How did mowatt play gainst newcastle?
Common knowledge murphy needs to get stuck in and do more. Wooton seems to have settled straight in which is good.
Is byram looking ok? Still being played in defense though?
Lets hope we can batter millwall and get some goals and confidence {Ed013's Note - Mowatt played well, got stuck in, attacked well and the occasion didn't faze him. He was lucky not to get sent off near the end though, but he will learn from that}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mowatt started instead of murphy

I'm bored of these people slagging the club off when we've had a few bad results. I'll admit that we need goals but we are fairly solid at the moment, we keep the ball better than we did last season and Michael brown isn't playing.
If we finish higher than we did last year then that is progress.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

At this rate, we won't!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed!

Agree0 Disagree0

These people are just concerned a few more bad results could leave us finishing lower than we did last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not the lack of goals that concerns me its the lack ambition beein shown by the board at first and a manager who apparently has funds if needed refuses to address the blatently obvious issues in the squad

Agree0 Disagree0

Lay off the board, do you not know anything? GFH have invested as much as they are allowed just to stop us going under. They have no funds because of the season ticket and catering scams Bates pulled off. We cannot just keep buying players as we are stuck with to much deadwood already eating up the wage bill
By next season the debts will be clearing and a few of the unwanted players contracts will be up and we can start moving forward.
