Feel sorry for the manager today we would of beat them with 11 men

Seemed all the players were up for it and was trying for the manager.

We have so many new players coming in/settling in every time a new one comes in there could be a slight change to the coaches thoughts.

It's very unsettling for the squad and it's more the presidents doing if any (transfer embargo) didn't help.

If the manager doesn't know who's coming in how can he determine how he is going to play?

We won't go down but I think it will be a year of growing stronger over the course of the season ready for next season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree we must keep the faith!

Agree0 Disagree0

Credit where it is due, most of the guys on the field played their hearts out, but I have to single Sharp out as being a luxury on the field and wonder why the f**k Hockaday waits until the 88th minute to put Poleon on?

If Leeds play like that each week, I can't complain apart from the two comments?

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith for all his effort, and the goal, is not conducive to playing football and he very rarely links play. Bianchi shows signs of quality but he is being played out of position, he should be supporting the attack, not wide. yet again no width and without it we are not going to trouble teams going forward. I am sorry but Tongue for me offers nothing. He is slow (no) paced and also slows the game down pondering on who to pass to. the system is all wrong, and although spirit and workrate is good, I for one don't want to be watching us simply 'hanging on' in games hoping for a lucky break

Agree0 Disagree0

Im guessing we would of beat em too! We got a team of hong kong fooeys all of a sudden. Me not sure if they're trying to hard or they've got a cunning plan to get hock the chop!

Agree0 Disagree0

And How many NEW platers were in the team tonight?

Agree0 Disagree0

4 games left to show turn around. No improvement. No longer coach.
Leeds United lost to flimin Brad flimin ford flimin city.

Not even a reasonable benchmark. Even for the championship.

We are a joke. 4 more games or out.

In general I agree that we put up a good fight with 10 men on the pitch, however let's not forget this was Bradford! I thought Smith did OK and put a shift in, but there is only one way to play with Smith and that's the long ball game.

I feel for The Hock, not because we need time for the team to gel, but because he is on a hiding to nothing. What expectations did MC really have when he brought him in? Surely it can't have been for his expert knowledge and past experience of getting clubs promoted! He might make a good number 2, but we need somebody in charge who can hit the ground running.

Agree0 Disagree0

JT
This is Bradford!
They were losing finalists last year taking out premiership clubs over 2 legs along the way including Arsenal!

Agree0 Disagree0

7 players from last seasons rubbish, looked on par with an average league one side and no subs

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2014 09:43:15
I see where you're coming from Andy, but it was two seasons ago and that was the season we beat Southampton, Everton and Spurs! Surely you can't be using that as a comparison? I guess early in any cup competition managers don't want to risk key players, but we need some stability. Why not play his best 11 and give them chance to become a team, after all as some people state we need to gel as a team, so why not play your best 11?

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds4alongtime, what did Poleon achieve? That's right, he missed a good chance with his regular poor first touch. I agree that subs should have happened sooner but drop the love in for Poleon because he is crap

Agree0 Disagree0

True we would of beat them with 11 men as before sending off we were all over them and there keeper made at least 17 really good saves. sorry for sarcasim but we were just poor with 11 and ten men against the mighty bradford. how many red cards will spare the hock's blushes. maybe that the game plan. ( being the hock) look I am really crap so if one of you could get sent off so I can blame that. ok let's draw names from a hat. murphy your turn this week and sharpy can you also try your best to get sent off as well. much abliged gents

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 22:09:43
My thoughts: I'm going to start with the few positives, Smith came in and I felt he did a good job. Again I thought Warnock and cooper were reliable and I also thought norris did a good job considering how rusty he is, also Taylor was a matured goalkeeper who was unlucky I felt. Onto the negatives, Wootton(need I say anymore). Tonge was non-existent and although he didn't have much to feed off I think Sharp got tired a bit too easily. Why Hockaday didn't make Subs in the last 20 apart from poleon at the very end I do not know. I tried supporting him but he's showing he can't hack it, Hockaday out!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Generally agree, main problem being Poleon coming on at 88 minutes, what the f**k use is that?

Thought Sharp was a luxury we can ill afford too?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 22:06:11
Wooton, Murphy, Austin, Tonge, Norris, Warnock, even Smith.

Are any of these guys actually told enough to keep us up this season? Questionable. We're relying on ALL of the new players to be capable championship players or we're gone. And what odds have we got on that. Long. I'd be surprised if this Adryan deal goes through as well judging by how previous deals have collapsed. In addition to this, people are understandably calling for the dismissal of Hockaday. But who do they expect to replace him. Cellino requires a yes man in order to employ his European format in England. And a yes man means a weak man, therefore a poor coach. It's a vicious cycle.

Sorry for the negativity, it's the truth.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2014 23:00:28
Smith yes, the rest, forget it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Smith is fine, needs help though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok maybe I'm being a bit harsh on Smith. BTW that's meant to say good, not told.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 21:24:48
Wootton has found his calling, best Rb I've seen in years, future England Rb for sure

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2014 20:48:41
Stats in our favour up to sending off but what can you do wiv 10 men for an hour. Guess this is where our fitness levels being higher than anyone else in the league come into play! i'm right dave an i?
Me 3 - 1 to leeds predictions not looming good.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2014 21:02:34
Now we know why we have such a big squad. To allow for a sending off every game.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2014 22:08:54
Can only assume he wanted out of the cup or out of a job with that team selection. I go to the games hoping to see a way forward and he keeps picking the players that nearly got us relegated, past understanding. First half awful and did not get much better. Why play Wotton or has Berardi got a cold. How can a team of new players gel if he never plays them together. Def lost faith in Hocks methods now.

Agree0 Disagree0

And sometimes two!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 22:12:17
thats it surely he has to go now not a knee jerk reaction its just enoughis enough he's chuffin clueless I know you can't blame him for the pratt that got sent but He still continued to pick that pratt when he had the opportunity to give others a go give davy norris a go why not but keeping tongue n murpthy when none of them have relly done anything just shows he's out of his depth with all these players out serving bans at least we should have some better players coming in and hopefully they will keep their places bring on bolton

Agree0 Disagree0

How many more before we pick up a fine?

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to say I watched the television coverage from quite an early stage and saw Hockaday sat in no man's land all by himself, looked very sad and sorry.

Later on I think I saw the seats occupied by Cellino and his daughter had been vacated?

Although I was impressed by the effort of most players tonight, I can't help feeling Hockaday is out of his depth by a mile.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 20:41:11
1st half assesment. still poor marking on set pieces and not great defending in general. still midfield diamond. chance to give cook and beniovic a chance missed. hoof ball still happening. when we do keep it on deck it is slow pedistiran with no movement or purpose. bradford are playing the better football and creating better chances. what worries me most is I can not work out what our plan is. you can tell a teams aim, counter attack, direct, pass and move, width and pace, total football. what is ours? think we need to be direct and play hoofball use smith and sharp as they are better than our midfeild but doubt hock will work that out. another red card from a different player, to me that suggest unrest and again is coaches fault if same player it is player but when it is all different players something bigger seems to be wrong. before anyone says we had a player sent off my comments count before then. anyone who says lots of new players so have bradford. so what excuse for that 45 minutes of utter dross? my hope for 2nd half is to see leeds fans get on hocks back that is just about the only thing that would make me smile as not too fussed about c1cup and whatever the result now I have seen enough to suggest a team going down. another 45 minutes more confermation of being one of the worst teams in the league and we are playing team in similar cirumstances to us only a league lower. I am such a happy bunny at the moment. sorry for being negitive yet again. on the plus warnock and peacre played well I thought and sharp tires 100% all the time

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sounds like your as completely cheesed off with this farce as me

Agree0 Disagree0

B
Agree with most of it but think Smith attracts HOOF BALL IMO. Yeh he scored but NEVER makes any runs to take defenders away from Sharp, he knocked a couple of balls on but that's it.
His header in the last second was a shocker ;(
We only played quick passing football once and scored from it.

(IF BY ANY CHANCE ANY PLAYERS READING THIS YOUR LETTING YOUR CLUB DOWN WE NEED 11 PLAYERS ON THE PITCH FOR 90 MINS)

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Sharp is a luxury we cannot afford, I think he touched the ball maybe three or four times all game?

Don't blame others, he needs to go looking for the ball, not stand around waiting for it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds
Sharp was VERY poor.
Smith should be making runs to the edge of the box dragging defenders away from sharp and vice Versa.
If you had the ball in midfield and look for a forward pass all you see is Smith looking at you enticing HOOF BALL (watch him)

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 19:56:58
Well he went with Taylor in goal - fair enough I suppose, he needs some games this season. But the only change in midfield from the one I predicted was Norris in for Austin. Not sure whether this is an improvement or not, would have preferred to see Cook in. The defence is exactly as I predicted though his hands really were tied there so not going to rag on the guy for that. Finally Smith is up front instead of Antenucci and quite frankly Bravo Hock. Smith causes problems for the opposition wherever he plays so good call there.

Other than that 8/11 right. Would have preferred a lower score than that with more of a change in midfield, but here we go anyway. Come on Leeds.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Murphy should forfiet a months wages, the first tackle was stupid and you don't do it with 80 mins to go, the second you could see it coming a mile away and you ONLY make that kind of tackle near the end of the match and if they look like socring.

MURPHY WOTA PLONKER

Agree0 Disagree0

Shapr should of gone as well. why such bad disapline? all different players as well. of course I am going to blame the management

Agree0 Disagree0

It's going to force a much needed change to our dismal midfield now he can't be picked for the next game, so there is one upside to this mess.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 19:40:48
Is this the slowest team that Leeds have selected in living memory?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well certainly in my living memory….I've been supporting the Whites since I was 6…and I'm 59 now! Most of this lot would make a Tetley's dray horse (remember them ha ha!) look like Usain Bolt.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 19:37:11
curry ordered. girl beers chilled (WKD's) leeds with lots of new players but so have bradford so no excuses how will we do. and why do I feel nevrous? got neat vokda on ice also ready just in case. I am going to have a guess. HOCK OUT

27 Aug 2014 19:31:41
Well, judging by the team Davey boy has selected, he does not fancy the Carling Cup, jeeezzz. Why persist with wooton, norris, tonge, murphy et al. At least give some youth and newbies a chance ffs

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Persist in Norris when did he last play?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 22:11:29
Norris was our best player tonight,he def deserves another start and should get it with the sending off of the deteriorating game by game murphy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never seen him play, stroll about take the money.

Agree0 Disagree0

I take your point Andy, but my point was why keep picking old guard players when they are clearly not good enough. It was an opportunity to give valuable experience to future players

Agree0 Disagree0

Vid
I agree mate and if we had 12 points in the league the youth would have played last night. Hocks under pressure now it's results based or out I'm afraid mate :(

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 19:27:15
Just seen the team selection. I think Hockaday has realised the job is too big for him and is deliberately trying to get the sack. Wooton, Norris? Midfield?Knowing football we will probably win now but we shouldn't with that team. Miracles sometimes happen!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2014 19:26:26
Another day has slipped past, and no announcement on Adryan. Starting to get a very bad feeling about this.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tonge wotton, Norris, murphy. God help us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2014 19:05:02
Is this team selection a joke. Hockaday must go now if it is

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2014 18:58:30
Criikey just seen tonight's team he must be wanting the sack with that selection, just one of our italian players starting and no right back only Wootton. Tonge and Norris in midfield there are no wide players whatsoever.I can only hope we win but I would have thought in his position that he would have played his strongest team and given himself a chance to keep his job, as I can see a defeat tonight putting real pressure on.
I can understand him wanting to give other players a game but I would have only have done that if we had a decent start with a few wins under our belt.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2014 18:57:01
There is no pace in the team tonight. I am incredibly disappointed by the team selection.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2014 18:27:48
Ed can sloth play tonight.?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - no idea sorry.}

27 Aug 2014 15:12:50
Norris, austin, tonge, morison n warnock signing for palace. We'll throw in hunt n wootton. If only

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2014 18:52:33
Wooton right back tonight. Maybe better position for him. Worried about lack of legs in midfield with Norris and tonge.

Colin is a premiership manager again. Thought he told everyone 2 things. That he was retired and he isn't good enough for the premier. At least we know now one of the relegation places from that division.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2014 14:11:25
Call me stupid or whatever, but I've got this strange feeling in my water that we might hammer Bradford tonight. Will probably need to see the Doc in the morning only to be told its cystitis . Let's see!
(But I agree with other ppl, far more interested in the league results)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Is this feeling coupled with it burning when you pee?

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a win, confidence needs a boost. Never mind it's the cup, the squad is big and let's face it we don't look like promotion contenders just yet. We need to get on a run and tonight would be a great place to start.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 19:06:32

So Warnock has come off his tractor to manage again. poor palace ha ha

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bit harsh I think warnock is better than his time at leeds suggest. not pulis but good enough I hope he does well

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh I've nothing against Warnock, his football ere was boring but and he signed his has beens but what option did he have under the circumstances?

Agree0 Disagree0

Give it a rest Colin wasn't that bad? are you taking the?iss! Clueless and Palace deserve him.

I'm from Bradford with all my family being from there, my brothers support Leeds and my cousin who btw looks & sounds like Hockaday, not a pretty bloke supports Bradford. I now live in Liverpool but like my brothers am Leeds through and through. So tonight there is no loyalty to Bradford it's Leeds all the way. I've picked up a bit of a Scouse twang my family tell me and the scousers call me Brouse ha ha. MOT

predictions for tonight? I predict 1-1 with bradford nicking a goal in extra time. must be honest capital one cup is not my main concern and there is probably not a bradford fan with in 100 miles of where I live so I won't get direct stick although my mates will ride me (but then are anyway). Never want us to lose ever but if we have to take a loss I will always take cup over league. So how are we going to do?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

B
I predict 4 goals in total (thats my bet)

A draw would not be a bad result, you may laff but we are playing the second best team in this cup competition.
Last year they beat notts cty away then Watford away, Burton alb at home, Wigan away, Gooooners at home and in the semi beat Villa over 2 legs. Yeh they got hammered in the final but they did well to get to it.

Agree0 Disagree0

2- 0 bradford
not much confidence at the moment, even sam byrams getting sent off

Agree0 Disagree0

Win win win she says hopefully

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree, couldn't care less about tonight really. We aren't going to win it, so perhaps going out would focus us more. Could also be a blessing as DH might be sacked if we loose.

4-2 or 3-1 Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 15:43:23
Couldn't care less? So a 4th defeat from 5 won't bother you going into Saturdays game against a half decent Bolton side .

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds 3 Bradford 1

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really no. This comp means nothing! Yes I would like a win, but I'm not expecting or hoping!
Im terrified about the league, as I think we will go down, so anything that gets rid of distractions I'm all for!

So people are moaning we are not signing championship proven players, so who have we signed in the last 2 years of that quality that has been any good, Norris, Tonge, kebe, Stewart, kenny, Pugh, the list goes on, at least we are trying to buy younger talent and spending a bit of money.
So who was any good?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Love Leeds

I think youve answered ALL the guys who wanted to spend money on PROVEN championship players and are not happy with MCs current signings after ONLY 3 games ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

We've sold the ones that were any good!

Snodgrass
Johnson
Becchio
McCormack
Gradel
Etc Etc

Agree0 Disagree0

People have been moaning that we haven't signed any QUALITY Championship players not just proven ones.

Agree0 Disagree0

MC has shown he will only sell our players at good price. can't blame the has beens that have been signed as that was with no money. Now we are spending money give the players a chance. to anyone who doubts MC's abality please please please look at what he did cagali. he took a small club to seria A and stayed there. MC has a good record give him a chance I am sure they will come good, certainly they will get better

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 11:49:18
Bic, exactly and when the premier teams come sniffing after Sloth, Adryan, Benedicic, Cook, Mowat and we do not have to sell you will all be blessing the day Massimo took over.

Agree0 Disagree0

Love Leeds, totally agree. To be fair to MC he has only sold McC and at that price and the fact he wanted to leave was the right move. Love him or not, MC is showing ambition by signing the numbers he has. Who could have foreseen that? Young hungry players who can become legends at Leeds is a good strategy. The only question is can the Hock get the best out of them? I hope so!Look at them down the road, they are having to rebuild as well. Rebuilding is always going to be painful and equally exciting IMO! Fingers crossed. I like many others have supported Leeds for 46+ years and will do positively and passionately for rest of my Life! MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

MC ONLY sold Mcbadgekisser and he didn't want to stay!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 13:05:16
ross left for one reason the mighty hockaday was manager/coach he said the same as us who the hell is he same as sam he said hockaday rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets see what Becchio does this season before you start calling him good. Can't get in Norwich team even after they got relegated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Andy (as per usual). Selling the badge kisser was not only the right thing to do, it was a genius piece of business. I think we have a much better squad than last year, who just need time to gel. How long that will take and who is the coach to help them to do it, the next few weeks will tell. I hope DH pulls it off - but if he doesn't, we know we won't have to wait long before someone else is given a chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree with hononotagain. I think most leeds fans are very harsh to ross he did love leeds, he didn't want to go and was loyal. he wanted to go up with leeds we hired hockaday he thought joke I will go to a team that might go up. let's be honest if someone said leeds or fulham will go up this year even after both starts you will still back fulham. ross did what he had to do and I like the bloke and kind of wish him well (just not against us) if leeds and fulham went up i'd be quite happy as nothing against ross. last year we all loved him. and I think beccio was very good (not that I want to disagree with David batty!) just think Norwich don't suit his style he needs a certain type of football. he was not a great footballer but was effect and could score a goal and held ball up well. think beccio and sharp would be very effective pairing to be honest

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio's passing was fantastic last night. He passed the oranges to every first team player at half time in the Norwich dressing room. He was focessed, had great vision and connected with every orange that he passed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hononotagain.

Sorry but you are 100% WRONG.

A player I know was Ross, s best mate and your post is 100% wrong i'm afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 05:20:08
We are linked with Daniele Dessena, yet another midfielder. Does Cellino have a midfield fetish or something? Maybe he took Bermondsey' s 72 midfield comment to heart. What's going on?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My comment wasn't a joke a have info so it was a FACT. I shall let everyone know how I know this information. I am the Hock. only jokeing like the hock knows what is happening at leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

We may have an abundence of midfielders but the quality is not good enough to compete. For me the poor quality of our midfield has been the route of our downfall for the past couple of seasons

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 11:59:14
At the moment we don't have a midfield Austin Tonge and Murphy on way out, Maybe give Murphy chance to prove himself with better players around him. Leaves us with a lot of young ones who you can't expect to play full gams all season long. My opinion we need another four in middle including a couple of wide players

Agree0 Disagree0

I think for me this year Murphy has been the biggest disappointment. Every time I'm listening to commentary that he has the ball I know he will either misplace a pass or lose it. Hope he improves but then again.

26 Aug 2014 22:55:47
I'm going to have a stab at guessing Shockerday's team for Bradford. It's an important game for everyone, himself most of all, so it's going to be full strength side I reckon (or at least what Mockerday thinks is his strongest side).

So, Silvestri in goal- no problems with this.
Right back is a struggle, if Berardi is available again then it'll be him, if not it could be Wooten and that's a concern(even more so that karate kicking Berardi).
Warnock at left back - Been impressed with Warnock so far so think this is an ok choice, maybe would like to see Taylor in here but can't imagine that happening.
Centre backs have to be Pearce and Cooper, especially if Wooten has to play right back.
The midfield will be the obvious four that The Crock has stuck with so far, the dreaded trio of Austin, Murphy and Tonge with Bianchi, who I'm willing to give some time to, joining them.
And finally I think he'll go Antenucci and Sharp up front. Got to say, unable to pass comment on Antenucci and I like Sharp, it's just a pity the poor midfield can't set anything up for them.

This is all based on the most obvious choices (I know some are down to injuries and numerous suspensions, but still) so it'll be interesting to see how many of this starting line up Hockerdoodledo names. I hope I'm wrong and he chooses the likes of Cook, C. Taylor, Smith, even Ajose, but I doubt it.

Of course, they'll be setting up in everybody's favourite diamond formation too.

Actually this is something I want clearing up. Am I misdirecting my bitterness here? Does somebody else pick the starting line up? Somebody who doesn't know much about football.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2014 04:49:52
I absolutely guarantee you he will bench Murphy for Cook.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr Happy
Hocks dilemma now is if he plays youth and loses he gets slated and if he plays a first team and loses he gets slated, if he wins then its a game we should have won anyway so he's on a hiding to nothing.
Oooooh to be a coach eh lol

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2014 10:09:07
If this was last year, or the year before we would no doubt lose at Bradford, so if we do this year then no surprise, but if we win (an if I know) then we should give team/Hock some credit, which somehow I think a lot of people on here wont, if lose then fair enough cane the hock.

With Van Gal and Man U shows what can happen if you have a average team or a new one and that guy is a great manager for sure, you do need more than 4-5 games with a brand new team, I would say after 10 we should judge but unless we are losing 4-5 nil every week then it is a bit of a joke to sack anyone.

for the record I am not a fan of hock, didn't get the appointment at all but he is here and I want Leeds to do well so I hope we win tonight and against a pretty poor Bolton side.

If the players are still with the manager (if those reports are true) then he can't be as hopeless in training as we all make out.

Like 90% of people on here I can't see him working out medium/long term but watching teams of Nice guy Brian/Warnock in the last few years then I will give him those 10 games, mind you if we lose tonight/Saturday then you can see MC firing the gun.

I think he should change the midfield tonight, go with cooper/pearce/Sam B (but he needs to get his head up as playing pretty rubbish at mo) and Warnock at back, I would play smith/Sharp up front (big man/little man combo, can work well) it is just the midfield I would really change, hopefully by the 31st we will have sloth and 2 more quality midfield types with a bit of pace/width which we all know we lack.

Voice of reason. brian and neil both achieved promotion so deserved a chance. hock has failed at forest green so imo needs to hit the ground running or hit the exit door. You can not compare the hock with van gal with any sort of reason, I reckon they have very little in common and only one of them pee's standing up. if we win credit the players for winning dispite the hock if we lose blame hock. unresonable yes but I don't think hock deserves any form of reason. the only resonable thing to do is look at hock and everything he has done and take action. now i'm not saying burn him at the stake, although not against it. but certainly sack him at half time. also I can't see the players coming out and going against him that very rarely happens so we can't say his training must be ok for this reason, his training must be poor as his teams have never got any results and he had four years to work with forest green and always failed so time doesn't seem to help this helpless man
