Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

Have to agree with other posters reference the comments made by Cellino about no more signings, he has made Steve Evans look stupid why does he have to say these things even if they are true, last night we are down the road with a couple of players today we are not signing anybody, so basically we have one new player one we already had and a couple of players for the Under 21s, but no winger no centre back for a centre back which are the three positions we needed.

I just wish Cellino would not undermine the manager it is no wonder the club is a laughing stock and no way to treat the fans either, it is for these reasons that we need a change of ownership hopefully Steve Parkin will make a move.

What the feck is going on - yet again!
Despite all the rhetoric from SE, our esteemed president now says that there will not be any more signings in the current transfer window. Then we read that Sol Bamba has been told he can leave. No wonder he wasn't around for the game on Tuesday night. Oh - then it would appear Antenucci could be on his way.
Just when things look a little more promising we are slapped in the face again.
And we've had our ups and downs - not many ups to talk about. Lose on Saturday and another season slips by.

it's lucky that we have sufficient mid-fielders in order to line up on Saturday with our new formation of 3 - 7 - 0.

Clarke mate why oh why would u believe the daily blah (can't see Newcastle buying a 31 year old with no prem exp and Sunderland just bought a 26 yr old ch so why would they either?

Also I don't believe much of what MC says, esp to sky, he prob fed them bs and to put clubs off guard a bit when neg for players.

It might all be true but I doubt mate, just press stories again, let's see what actually happens by Monday and then judge but not before.

Can't compete with Bristol City for wages! Thinking a draw with Brentford is a half decent result. Billy and Don will be turning in their graves!

So on one hand we have Stevo saying he wants to strengthen in 3 areas and on the hand we MC commenting that further signings are unlikely.

Looks like we have a case of the "president" wanting to consolidate the rest of the season and the "manager" wanting to push and build for next year. Something not right here.

the consolidation is backed up by Bianchi offloaded (wages freed up) , Byram finally leaves and Dawson packs it in. Bamba rumoured to be interesting the north east so it wouldn't surprise me if he left but sunderland have just signed another ivorian so that might be a ruse.

I don't expect any more signings, but I guess we have signed 6 this January, so should be happy. The McKays, Bridcutt (he counts as a new signing) , Carayol, Diagouraga and a new chairman. And keeping Cook surely counts for something.

Hopefully it's a case of Cellino realizing he can't acquire the quality necessary in the next 4 days. However, if that's the case you've got to wonder about MC/ SE communication when Evans says he wants another 3 in. Onto the summer I guess. The most important transaction will be Parkin buying out GFH. He'll have to pay over the odds though unfortunately.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jan 2016 21:48:55
I can't see SE being here in the summer and the whole circus will start again. Any new man will want his own players in and I think this is what will happen. And MC gets to play football manager again

Im not saying that I want SE out, just think he won't be retained. He was brought in as a stop gap until MC figures out his next move. I belive he should stay as he has to be given time with the squad, but ultimately I am not happy about the results we have been getting. We appear to beat the mediocre sides, hold the good sides and mess up against the sides we should be beating and this is what has cost our season.

The recyclying of players is MC through and through and I guess true to form. Bamba was probably brought in for 1mil or so, and rumoured to be available for 2mil. Antenucci the same, value gone up, get rid, clear the wages (consolidate) and make a small profit. So this will be maintained for the forseeable future. Diagouraga has reportadely cost us 600k, if his value makes 1.5mil will be moved on.

27 Jan 2016 22:05:11
If SE goes I expect a furious fans backlash.

Agree4 Disagree3

27 Jan 2016 22:59:34
Why do you expect a backlash?
He has hardly set ER on fire.
Then again some folk are easily fooled by a guy who talks the talk. And that's it.
Im not saying he's a bad manager but those who think he such a great motivator need to think again. How many games have we played well, over say 70 mins?
Is he better than say Rosler? Maybe, but he is yet to prove it IMO.

Cork, you must be the only Leeds fan on Planet Earth who thinks it's stil a debate regarding the better manager between Fat Boy Steve and Loser.

Steve done well with what he's got and he's way more tactically astute.

What happened to the player coming in before the end of the Sheffield Weds game? Was it only me who read that? Plus What was SE's comments about no one new about Caroual or Toums coming in before they did as that's how he likes to do business . Then precedes to tell us all window about Lafderty and then MCGeady? He's just Cellino's puppet, straight talking my! Taking us for imbeciles, that's all . Lost my trust . What happened to Honesty, if we ain't got mo eye for transfers just say, i'd rather that than the feeding us bull, then showing us something completely different .

28 Jan 2016 14:41:19
Well how come we havnt shot up the table then George? And he still puts two up top sometimes when we are not suited to that formation. Tactical genius? No just realises he's made a mistake and then changes the formation but then too late.

Does anyone know if we have a sell-on clause for Kasper Schmeichel? A Mank mate of mine reckons he's the preferred option if and when De Gea goes to Real Madrid. Could be worth a fat wedge if we have, seeing as he's doing so well for the Prem leaders.

Managed to catch up with my Brentford loving friend today and ask him about our new signing, as he was bang on regarding Dallas.
Rates the guy he breaks up play very well and holds the ball .
Apparently his a unit .
He did say that he can have a quiet game here and there but sad to see him go .

Tomlins was an amazing player last season and the one before, I think we'd be hard pressed to name a player with his ability in the last couple of seasons . Cellino says out spending is over this season, Om starting to feel we are punching well above our weight staying in this division and it's only a matter of time before we head down again . As good as Dave might be, £575,000 of £3.7 mill spent, we really are shopping at Promark whilst our rivals bar Bolton are shopping at Harrods. It's like Deja vu, we get a bit of spin that we're in for this player and that, but in SE 's words we can't push them thro, you call a club, is there a chance of Lafferty coming on loan? No we're only going to sell are you willing to buy, No, end of . Is McGeady available, yeah but there's a couple of premiership clubs in for him, he wants to play in the prem, end of! But we're spun no sense for 30 days till window slams shut, then it's we couldn't get them over the line? Same cack, different year!

Found myself with nothing to do so thought I might make some controversial comments about our team. Firstly when is somebody going to tell them that football is a 90minute + extra time game split into two halves of 45 mins, one of which we don't appear to turn up for and could explain why we struggle to win games when our opponents play for the full 90 mins. Secondly how does Murphy manage to convince Steve Evans that he is an attacking midfielder. He very rarely carries the ball into the opponents half and when he does receive the ball his first instinct is to look to pass it side wards or backwards which ever is the easier pass. This could explain why are midfield players don't score many goes if for one is never in a position to even attempt a shot on goal. They say you cannot hide on a football pitch but him and Aidy White are/ were masters of it. Finally I along with a lot of other people on this site think it's time that they gave young Cook a rest. The lad is still a teenager and may have lots of energy but I wonder how much mentally the game is taking out of him. He runs a tremendous amount but always into dead ends, makes very few good scoring chances for his team mates, scores very rarely and is certainly not a left winger where Evans tends to play him to accommodate him in the team. Give the lad a break for his own good there's lots of years of football in him still to come and if he is the future let's make sure we don't burn him out.

Massively agree with you on yuour first point, its feels like that Stevo doesn't know how to set a team up and dictate a game.

He does mknow how to react to a situation and drive for soemthing out of a game. which would make him a reactive tactician, rather than a proactive one. It almost as we need 2 different coaches, one to start off a game and Stevo to come in when we go down.

Agree with you on Cook as well, he needs a rest and soon. Hopefully on Saturday he will get to sit out and Mowatt get brought back in. There is a reason he scored 10 or so goals last season and he should be brought back in. Murphy is a squad player at best.

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Jan 2016 18:11:30
Would it be selfish of me to suggest that we might as well run cook into the ground? Cause unless we at least come close to a playoff place this season he'll be gone in the summer and he'll probably spend most of next season warming the bench of a mid table premier league team. He can rest then can't he?

Might cause a few eruptions on here but Kiearn Agard isn't getting any game time at Bristol City.
He's fast and has an eye for the goal, Steve Evans was his manager at Rotherham so would it not be worth giving him a crack in a Leeds shirt?
I know him and Cellino didn't hit it off when we were after him last time but Steve Evans does seem to bring the best out of players 👍👍.

In your dreams Wex, we have done all the business we are going to do in this transfer window, I hope I am wrong however I doubt if I am, it's been another window with lots of promises with plenty of mouth from Evans and yet not much in the way of signings. Thanks for the comments guys, as I feared it looks like I was right especially after what I have just read on sky's website. As I said I am totally getting peed off by owners mugging us loyal fans with promises of signing new players and never delivering on there promises. In my eyes Celino is every bit as bad as master ages at least we knew what Bates agenda was. Wait till the summer and Cellino will say everything we won't to hear in an attempt to get us loyal fans to re new there season tickets.

I've been saying it for a while Cook is a very good player but he is only 18 and still learning the game. The problem with having a g an excellent academy and a fairly poor/ average team is that when young players come through they become the stars and the ones to take us to the next level. That's too much expectation and pressure. When they come through they need to be the equivalent of the 'tea boys' in the work place. Playing alongside the decent experienced players and learning their trade and not being the instant stars ie knowing their place. It hasn't happened for a while at Leeds and it's a vicious circle. Young lad comes in everybody thinks he's the answer to our prayers. He is then over played; loses form from time to time; gets injured; is rested; comes back; finds a bit of form and then clears off to pastures new and we still have a poor/ average team. That's why we need to invest in quality. It will help us now and also help to keep our youngsters on the right path in the future.

Realistically, we are not going to make the play-offs. A good cup run would be nice, it would please our supporters and we've not been anywhere near since 1987. Bolton have relegation concerns, so there's no reason why we can't be in the draw for the fifth round.

Well a bit of a game of two halves,1st half was average, 2nd half was decent performance and we had around a 10 minute spell we were all over them, if only we had taken one of those chances earlier and then had a longer time to gone to get a second and win the game. But unfortunately it is all if's and but's now. Carayol played well after he scored and I personally thought Cook was MOTM ( But I listen from my radio for most matches so people he go to a lot of games could have a better view but IMO Cook is our star man and for me if does go on a poor run then I would give him 5 games to improve or he would be dropped but personally I think he is in decent form right now but people may have better views who go to a lot of games. ) IMO Diougara did not really do that much on his debut and IMO was quite poor going to give more of a chance though. Taylor was decent like he usually is Bridcutt started at quite a below average quality by his standards but grew into the game as it went on and overall had a decent game Aunty Lucy was average and Doukara worked and was ok. (And unlucky not to score a chip from 40 yards! ) ( Ant also had a good shot from distance. ) Murphy was average. Cooper was ok. Bellussci was average. Wootton barely did anything and was below average. Shame about Woody's injury hopefully was just a tweak and hopefully will be fine for the Bolton game. So overall a quite good performance and a decent result as I put earlier I would of taken the draw. (Thought we could of nicked it but again if's and buts now. ) So now we move on to the 4th round of the Fa Cup against Bolton it could be a bit tough we the situation there in we should beat them and continue our Fa Cup run and hopefully have a good and long cup run on the road to having the best season possible and build and set up well for a promotion campaign. We are Leeds! We are Proud! Stand up Sing it loud, because there is nothing you can do against the Yellow, White and Blue MOT!
