I would of genuinely preferred Villa to win tonight. I know it’s negative but I’d prefer to keep the teams lower away lol.

A draw would have been good but Burnley winning doesn't really help us.

Hope you are well Mezzer.

You and me both lol, especially with Chelsea and Everton dropping points, I’ll give u guys credit ye play good football but Burnley are a disease to football.

Found myself looking UP the league table again after last nights win! Yeah I know I shouldn't! I still think with a little consistent form we could reel 3 or 4 of the above teams in! Saints, Villa, Everton, even W. Ham. Surely on our day we are more than equal to these teams? Just need a little consistency starting with maybe draw on Sunday? I think perhaps we can get something from Palace and Everton! MOT.

As a newly promoted club we are doing marginally better than I expected; a point at Leicester would be most pleasing DSW.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jan 2021 18:46:30
You’ll start you’re nose bleeds of again DSW!

Well we won Away at Everton and you know where, West Ham going very well just now Southampton having a little dip of late. Realistically we are going to be playing the majority of the season without any of our first choice CB’s so I’d be surprised to see us finishing above those teams snd would very happy with us good and safe this season.

27 Jan 2021 18:59:30
Guys a point against Leicester would be great but I don't really hope out much hope, I think they got too much for us to be honest. But we live in hope.

27 Jan 2021 19:26:18
Totally agree with you Class, definitely wouldn’t get too carried away DSW, as much as I want to see a positive slant on the amount of victories this season, realistically we are not going to get them. Too many injuries in defense.

Know one knows how many people support a team
So fanbase is wat?
Something off facebook,
Counting trophies over 80 years ago?
Huddersfield were the 1st team to win 3 consecutive titles
Are they a big club.

Agree4 Disagree0

27 Jan 2021 15:37:10
Lol 😃🤪Vile Dave touched a raw nerve I see re your laughable earlier suggestion that Leeds supporters are jealous of Vile.

The vast majority of people compare football clubs achievements within their LIFETIME ; they were there to see it, know about it, relive it etc

Vile's 6 leagues and 6 FA cups were won 2 lifetimes ago between 1893 to 1910 ( 110 to 130.years ago ) . Very few if any other fans other than Vile are aware or care mate and neither would they be jealous lol 😃👍🤪.

Seeing as Leeds were not even formed until 1919 it's hardly a fair comparison VD that virtually all of Vile's trophies were won before Leeds were even formed and therefore the vast majority of Vile's trophies are irrelevant in this comparison.

As for social media Facebook likes are you really basing that on supporters? Seriously VD? 😃🤪

So VD in your 60 odd years of supporting Vile you have seen them. win the League once, not even an. FA Cup, 4 league Cups ( which has always been. the least prestigious trophy . these days it is practically worthless ) , an Intertoto Cup 🤪lol ( keep that one quiet if I were you VD) and the old style European. Cup when. in. those days you only had to beat 5 clubs to win it Vile beating mediocre teams Valur, Dynamo Berlin, Dynamo Kiev. and Anderlecht. Leeds beat better teams like Barcelona to get to the European Cup final and their achievements in the Champions League to play 19 games against the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid AC Milan Lazio, Valencia even more impressive in matchplay.

So VD, of the millions of Leeds supporters all over the world not one of them would be in any way jealous of mediocre Vile, how ridiculous of you. 😃.

Apart from a charity shield have ye won anything since 72? I’m only asking cause I’m not sure, both our clubs have a good history but your trophies seem every bit as far back as ours.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2021 16:08:46
Wrong, they use all sorts of stat finders, social media sites, shirt sales, surveys, foreign exports, etc etc, .
Counting trophies is part of a clubs history, and I have seen our club win 9 trophies, not bad to be fair.
So what are you talking about, your team has been in obscurity for 20 years.
And yes Huddersfield were a decent club back in the day.
But don`t try and get of the subject here, this is about your club and my club, and it is blatantly obvious they do not come close to make comparisons.

crikey they’re a gift that keep on giving aren’t they!

I ACTUALLY used to have a soft spot for Villa similar with Everton thought Ron Saunders was a PROPER football manager once met Gary Shaw when on holiday to minorca he was a great bloke Peter Withe proper number Nine

My own recent problems with Villa is that Vile manager of yours who let's be honest most of you wanted out before the Bournemouth matter. For us you’re behaviours culture at your club is the epitome of Smith and Terry.

Freakish is probably in top five best players in EPL today he would not have been embroiled in this drink driving issue under our current Manager.

We all have history good and bad and I appreciate your above us in the league on merit, but if Smith was ever linked with managing our club I honestly would consider a sabbatical.

Many good things about Villa but for Me Dean Smith is an abhorrent individual so is John Terry and consequently anyone connected to or led by those two I wish nothing to do with.

My point was if i met you under a previous Villa Manager like Ron Saunders, Brian Liitle (great player) easily could have shared a beer had a football discussion with you under Smith and Terry you lose all credibility with me.

Big win last night with a stubborn performance
Must have pleased Bermo who seems to have taken a sabbatical. Your absence is noted Bermo

If we win 4 more games this season Fulham and WBA have to win at least 9 games and blunts need 11 to over take us.
How many more games will any of them win?

On the squad times maybe up for Casillas, Beradi, Foreshaw and Hernandez. On top of these there are two or three who are borderline.

Strengthening for me would be straight down the spine with a CF, Number 10, AMF, DMF, and then maybe a left sided defender like Ayling who can play in the middle or left back and a back up keeper. that's a minimum of four to move on and bring in up to six, even if it takes the next two windows.

you know me 1970 loved last nights win, missed it as on set but according to all reports we won while not at best and not playing well and to mean that is better than winning by being great as it takes a strong and good team to 'win badly' while any team can win on their day.

things been mental on set so not posting but still keeping up with everything and an avid reader of the page. and thank you for the well wishes also Mez best wishes to you mate and a speedy recovery

Morning all
Good 3 points, well battled, think 38 will be enough but don't think we will be in any relegation battle.
On transfer window, hard call, but its Radz call, if MB, and Orta think we have enough, then that's that, it's a gamble either way, but can't see a lot of value out there, players overpriced, problem is its Bielsas call IMO, if he says we are ok then what's the point Orta ignoring him and getting someone in who the manager dosent want.
Still think a loan player makes sense, but again don't overpay.
Heard a rumour Man U want a astronomical loan fee for Lindgaard plus his wages in full from West Ham, Really, he can't get on there bench.
Only option I would see is a deal with PSG and Poch for 1 of there fringe players maybe,

Reckon another point Sun v Lester.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2021 10:27:40
Without getting into transfer and loan issues I think to be sitting on 26 points with the defence we have been able to put out most of the time is pretty good going. Koch and Lorente were brought in to shore us up and instead its been makeshift most of the season so far.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

27 Jan 2021 18:08:58

27 Jan 2021 10:00:11
Really pleased about the result even though it was a hard battle in the second half. Gutted for Llorente, i was looking forward to his inclusion to the the squad. Hopefully next season?

Meslier was excellent, such a brave keeper, he’s not worried about getting kicked in the face at all.
I sincerely hope Rodrigo didn’t spit in Schar’s face!? It would not only be disgusting but incredibly stupid carrying a six game ban.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

27 Jan 2021 10:22:55
Looked to me like he said something rather than spitting, that caused the reaction.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2021 15:38:51
Schar has said he didn't spit at him, Newcastle happy it was a non incident and that ref dealt with the incident on the pitch so should be the end of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2021 09:58:18
We struggled a bit against a very poor Newcastle team and we could have easily dropped two or even three points. I still think a finish of 15th to 17th is a realistic prospect. If we don't have to buy in player (s) in January (unless a good deal pops up) it would be even better. I don't think Bielsa will be here next season and Summer would be the best time for any new manager to bring in the players he wants. Players? At least one centre half, Midfielder (s) and definitely a striker. Probably a keeper as well. Not for next season: Roberts, Hernandez Only for squad: Cooper, Alioski.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

27 Jan 2021 10:51:57
Newcastle are not one of the Premierships finest teams but you could see they fought tooth and nail in the second half, I don’t care what division a team comes from, if they fight like that it’s always difficult to break them down. I believe if they sack Bruce they’ll survive, they’ve got some decent players in that squad.
We will finish below midway in the league but I don’t think Bielsa will want to leave Hess. I imagine he’ll relish the thought of having a proper go of it after this season’s first taste of the Prem. He’ll leave when he felels he can’t improve us anymore and wants to go back to his family in Argentina I imagine.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2021 09:15:12
Celtic looking to get a pre contract agreement with Preston CB Ben Davis 25 years old has had best aerial success stats in Championship past few seasons anyone else think this could be a sensible interim solution based upon poor Llorente breaking down again?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

27 Jan 2021 09:56:10
Sounds like he could do a job for us class, but do you really think they’ll be buying a CB now? With or without Llorente I think Bielsa feels confident with what we’ve got, which without doubt is not a lot, .
You can see the scenario being a Leeds fan that Struijk goes and gets an injury, then what.?
Looks like it’s a hamstring injury for Llorente which I guess it could be minimum 4 weeks he’ll be out. They should leave him out the rest of this season, it’s obvious he’s coming back too soon from his injuries.
You can see that Bielsa was desperate to get him back in the first team, he normally has the injured returnees doing a bit more time in the under 23’s.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jan 2021 11:07:02
Think your right OP they can always put Luke back in there as cover which I do not like but would prefer if in meant Cody Drameh was given a go at right back as really like the lad. Alioski is a real character but I believe he’s a accident waiting to happen at full back.

Also Cooper is unlikely to go rest of season injury free based upon recent events. Actually the best CB from the championship was originally Berms suggestion but I think it has merits, in that I would rather have a tough proven Championship player like Davis at CB than risk Casey or Cresswell THIS season, but it’s just banter as Bielsa probably won’t want anyone new in now.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jan 2021 14:44:46
As Struijk stepped up so I believe Cresswell can. I think the powers that be have decided that, come what may, a January signing is not on the cards. Come the summer, next season we will have a potential 7 (inc Ayling) players for the 2 CB positions.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2021 09:01:53
Must say, big up to the defence. It wasn't pretty but we repelled all that St Maximin threw at us. The boy really is a handfull. With him on Newcastle looked a team.
