Never thought i'd see the day. Reading more of a lure than Leeds United. We need buyers asap. don't have to be mega rich just willing to invest maybe 6 million in the summer on new players and along with a decent manager we should be in the shake up next season. Coyle, McDermott or Poyet are generally seen as the top contenders and rightly so. John Sheridan would be on my list too. Done well at smaller clubs with limited to no budgets and his teams play proper football. Leeds legend and a true football man who I think could bring a buzz back to ER. God we could do with that!

Just goes 2 show how far we have fallen but chin up mate every dog has his day and I for one think our best days are yet 2 come mot

Agree2 Disagree0

Agree totally mate. Sheridan an interseting choice. track record pretty good like you say and he definitely bring a buzz to LEEDS.

Gfh are so far out of there depth they haven't got a clue, do they not know its there job to go out and find a suitable manager not warnocks, where is Harvey is he not having a say or even Bates is he not supposed to be there on an advisory basis, not that I'd take any advice off him, but you must see where I'm coming from, we need new manager and nobody is stepping forward to take control or speaking to the fans, its like this sinking ship is out of control with noone to steer it, we are in desperate trouble I'm afraid.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Adkins wasn't formally contacted by the team. Warnock did a bit of a sell through a call but that's the long and the short of it.

Until we can guarantee the investment required to get good quality Manager/Coaching and a fully Premier League potential squad. we're not going to get the leadership we require.

Need the whole ownership resolved. then -maybe after a full year of championship play under new ownership/management- we can think about premier league.

Gary Megson was seen wearing a false beard and glasses talking with Warnock in a supermarket carpark. I overheard Warnock say "it's all yours come May". Megson replied but I only caught a few words. Megson will be the next manager!

Your not even funny.

As a businessman, would you buy Leeds from GFH using your money.

Consider the assets - are mainly the players, Yorkshire Radio etc. The main assets the Ground and Training Facility's are not owned by GFH.

Most serious investors would want all of the assets, so how do you make money TV rights, Ticket sales, merchandise and then balance this with players salary's, this then equals potential profit.

As an investor, why would you develop ER and make the stadium bigger when the average attendance is 50% of capacity unless the Casino can make serious money to fund the business.

The only time we will have a serious investor will be when we return to the Premier League because of increased revenues from TV rights, I believe this will happen but only by using the youth players and bringing them through over a number of years. (up to 3 years)

It is clear we don't have funds for quality players and this will mean most managers will not come to ER.

The only option is for the supporters to purchase a stake in the club, if we had a share scheme, based on £50 a share would you invest?

We spend more than £50 a game.

50,000 members at £50 a share = £2.5m

How many supporters do we have worldwide.

Hit agree if you would spend £50 on a share

right now I would"nt pay 50p a share as big a club as we think we are we are still in the championship with a track record that's not good when it comes to buying and selling the club

Agree1 Disagree1

4 agrees that values the club at £200 which I think is a reasonable value

Very good post mate.

i lost £1500 in shares the last time around, love leeds but never again.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would buy shares. There are plenty who would pitch in. I think swansea do something similar. Why can't we buy a portion of our club. on average we would want 1000 from 30000 world wide fans. someone start it and let's see what happens

Agree0 Disagree0

Think the price was 17Million quid plus plus before.

I'd be in fer a decent bung. but reckon we'd need 10Mega quid (after negotiation) to take controlling ownership.

100,000 buyers at a 100 quid per person.

Don't fancy the governance challenges though. Would have to have an odd electable board arrangement.

Also once we got control. how do we raise capital. (D'you think GFH would just ply the money back into the team. not a chance. )

Nope. I reckon we need a big money bags buyer. not us plebs.

Sorry 'bout that.

PDC people? No No No. Are you as crazy as him? So you want a manager that will be at constant loggerheads with the owners about money for players as well as other things. Leeds United need a bit of calm to get their act together and do things quietly under the radar. Under pdc it will be utter chaos and headlines for all the wrong reasons and in doing so players will be unhappy and the club will suffer. Brian Mcdermott for me, he is as someone previously said a good talent spotter and a thinker and he stormed the Championship with Reading.

Why docent someone some find out if the supporters want to by part off the club from gfh how many supporters would be interested, how many £50 shares could be sold to small investors i. e. the fans why can't it be done,

Why on earth is Warnock interviewing potential candidates for the managers job, Surley this is for the Chairman and the board to do?

No wonder Atkins has gone to Reading GFH are a joke with no idea and no money!!

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Warnock only said he mentioned the Leeds job when in a conversation with Adkins. People are allowed to talk to other people from time to time you know!

Sassy

I think a lot of guys are missing the point here. ADKINS has family now in the South and Reading is an easy commute from Hampshire up the M3. what's the incentive to join Leeds? Above average wage? Exciting ambition? Team challenging for promotion? Lifestyle up North better for his family? Its a no brainer and we are not an attractive proposition for any leading manager or player at this time

Agree2 Disagree0

He could get a lift from all the hundreds maybe thousands who travel up from the south to watch LEEDS every week

I must admit that I don't know any details about Steve Parkin and his rumoured attempt to buy into the club. That said, I'm pretty sure that he does not have the kind of money to really shake things up and get the club moving forward with a purpose. If he wants to buy 10% or 20% then that would be great (a local business man and supporter in a position of influence etc) but I'm really hoping that somebody with SERIOUS money comes in and buys the controlling interest. Fingers crossed!

I think he was going to buy 100% and sell 51% to some rich that he as already got lined up but it sounds like Patel and haigh don't want to sell more than 51% but sounds like gfh the main company wish to sell 100% so it will probably happen.

The suggestion is that Steve Parkin will bring in Saudi money once takeover/investment is complete, this is according to Duncan Castles, late kick off and Richard Sutcliffe

It all seems a bit of a mess again. Its even more dissapointing because we all felt takeover was the begining of the new begining. Now it seems we have to wait all over again for investment before we hopefuly move forward. Gfh done lots of good things but there are a lot of things that still need doing. Because we won't be relegated, they are happy to stick with manager and players. If investment dosent come in, what then? Cheap c grade manager and same team next year. Its alnost like we were bought without a solid plan for the future just a hope someone would chip in. When you look at the success some teams have had recently like blackpool, reading, norwich, qpr, southampton, swansea and on and on. Its a travesty that in 10 years we haven't been able to come up with one decent owner or manager or investor. It dosent take zillions, just 5-10 mill and a decent manager. I would suggest the new investors and owners spend money on a good manager and then the team. let's get someone like mcd who could be aroubd for years.

It does seem a complete mess but I suppose in hindsight being bought by an investment bank was a bit of a clue, they said they were looking for investment from the off but you would have thought that would have already been in place especially considering how long the process. There were warning signs but my opinion at the time was that even if GFH turn out to be useless, at least they would hopefully make the process much easier for the next buyer having unraveled the mysteries of KB and his dodgy empire. I am grateful to GFH for that much but hope they now do the decent thing and sell or at least bring in good investment very soon. Manager wise, I would certainly hope we could attract the standard of Adkins/McDermott et al if we wanted them. Personally I would put them in category B along with many of the names that have already been mentioned. Category A, Mourinho, Guardiola etc obviously ain't gona happen even if we suddenly had £100mill to spend. A number of media reports, Duncan Castles, Richard Sutcliffe, Late kick off suggest that Steve Parkin is at an advanced stage of a buyout/ major investment backed up by Saudi money, let's hope so!

Adkins going to Reading confirms we have no money for next season. O'leary to manage us again to get best out of youngsters? Tis maybe the only way without money. Don't like how management seem to be ridiculing fans when they ask us on OS will we be bringing someone new? Er, how about you answer same question regarding our manager?

Believable7 Unbelievable6

27 Mar 2013 07:14:24
how does it prove we have no money??
we still have a manager
reading are still in prem league with slim chance of staying there.
reading are guaranteed to have money to spend next season as they get around 60 mil .

Agree7 Disagree0

Managing Leeds on a long term basis is a better prospect than Reading if we make it into the PL. Adkins obviously thought the money wasn't there to achieve that. Simple.

27 Mar 2013 20:00:58
Or maybe he just thought Reading was logistically better for him due to family ties! Just because Warnock spoke to him about the job does not mean he was going to be offered it money or no money!
