Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

28 Apr 2012 23:34:17
I get so fed up with Leeds fans still having a go at alan smith. When he wore the Leeds shirt he gave everything. All this rubbish about joining the scum. They were the only team at the time prepared to pay the full transfer fee up front. That sum of money up front probably saved the club it certainly gave us some breathing space.Over the years players have transferred between the two clubs yet smithy seems to take more crap than any other player. If this load of crap we have now gave 50% of what he did when he wore the shirt we wouldnt of had the season we just had.He was a top player who had he had a little more pace could have been anything. The sad thing is his career was ruined playing out of position for the scum. When Neil warnock starts signing all these new players in the coming weeks just hope one thing they run their hearts out for Leeds Utd just like Alan Smith did.

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Move with the times, get a grip

Agree4 Disagree3

1. those other players didnt declare themselves MR.Leeds
2. We still went into administrations it did little, so stop making out like he was out saviour!
3.He wanted to go to Man utd even if a bidding war took place he'd have still prefered ManU, he stopped a bidding war and we lost out on money
4. he gave up a loyalty bounus....he staid he wanted to go to Manu and only ManU before knowing if any other bids would have come in that might also have been upfront but we'll never know because he stop that from happening stating he only wanted to go to ManU....hardly loyalty he wanted the move
Its the same thing every year on here its boring hes ready to retire so let him. He hasnt made an impact at MK dons yet ur desperate for him to return. Whats more important Leeds sucess with fresh, youngre, hungrier players or a sentimental move for a hasbeen who would be injured more often than not, or simply pick up multiple silly cards because hes 'passionate'?? Move on this is LEEDS UNITED NOT ALAN SMITH UNITED! One man does not make a team!

Agree4 Disagree6

I didn't realuse you were present when Alan smith said all these things. As I remember he did not want to go to Man U but was forced into it as we were so hard up. He waived his right to the money he was entitled to to help the club. Why you feel the need to slate him is anybody's guess. He gave everything for Leeds and that really is all that matters.

Agree2 Disagree2

Original post - yawn yawn yawn YAWN

Latest post - take a bow son!

Agree4 Disagree1

You haters, read this and shut up

Agree1 Disagree3

What an person you are, not only can you not spell but i dont think you can read either, the original poster was expressing his views on Alan Smith i dont see anywhere in his posting asking for Alan Smith to return he was asking for the current players and new players coming to the club to play with the same enthusiasm and commitment as Smithy did - read carefully before posting inane comments.

Agree5 Disagree3

You do know smith was told he has to move to them or the club will fold dont you?? Not just saying that this is what peter lormier said a few years ago when we played newcastle in a pre season frendily whoever posted that bull about smith saying he said hes mr leeds and he wanted to go to man utd your a joke and the reason why dumb people should get castrated so they dont create idiots like you!!

read this the guy alan smith who said he wanted to go to manu talks out of rear end

Agree2 Disagree1

Picking apart typos your so mature, shows a weak argument if you have to lower yourself to that response

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha PL speaks the gospel as does EGray haha before that they were saying the opposite about Smith so dont make out we should take there word for it or are you forgetting their comments before they were trying to bring him back to the club??

Agree0 Disagree0

Smithy WANTED to go to ManUnited, it all comes down to the players decision they have the final say and he wanted a transfer there it just happened to be in leeds benefit at the time, smithy prevented anyother pay up fron deals coming in from any other clubs once he declared he wanted a transfer to stum. The club wouldnt have folded at all your all speaking sh*te, it kept us afloat for a while but the end result would have been the same, so it just prelonged the enevitable

4 3 3 for me next season
Derry
Smithy Clayton

Diouf McCormack
Rhodes

Not too fussed about defense as it seems warnocks already sorted that out

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Sounds spot on but ambrose for smith for me

Agree6 Disagree3

Why would anyone want old man Derry? Brown will do for that job.

Agree4 Disagree4

Derry captained us to play off final
Then took QPR up
And michael browns done ..... ?

Agree2 Disagree3

So? we have one old past his best defensive midfielder, we don't need another!

Agree2 Disagree2

No one wants smith besides you

Agree4 Disagree2

I seen a report lastseason stating more than 2 3rd of fans want smith back

Agree2 Disagree4

Maybe get clingan in that midfield to allow clayton to get forward

Agree1 Disagree1

Everything i have seen of clingan this season has been poor.

Agree1 Disagree1

2 thirds of fans wanted smith back??
well lets address that shall we.
it was a poll on the YEP, people sought out this poll due to an interest in smith thus the tally is skewed, it isnt an accurate representation, those that didnt care or didnt want him back wouldnt have sort after articles and polls relating to smith only those interested in his return would have done that (well the larger percentage).
Also, some fans wanted Smith back b4 his stint at a league 1 club in which he's had little effect thus highlighting his current level. Also he opted to drop down to MK dons to keep his 60k wages rather than take a loan to a Championship club....speaks volumes about his 'love' 4 lufc. Many may have been put off by this. Also his wage demands wouldnt warrant his current abilities/services and Im sure many only wanted him back if they were getting him for 2k like MK were with NUFC making up 98% of his wages. Paying 30k minimum not a chance the bulk of lufc fans would back that. There is no way now that you'd get 2 3rds of leeds fans backing his potential return. sorry you just want to believe hes wanted because you hold that opinion.

leeds team for first game of next season;

lonergan

lichaj pearce bamba hill

snodgrass clayton cohen mccleary

beckford mccormack

subs; becchio, lees, white, green, puncheon

Believable0 Unbelievable7

Right so we're gunna have 3 centre backs, one of which playing out of position at left back?

Agree2 Disagree0

Clint Hill played left back for the majority of QPR's title-winning season.

was at game today and jermaine Beckford was given some great support from leeds fans and applauded it and banged his chest, would have im back tomorrow.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Fortunately for us you aren't in charge, or did you forget he walked away from Leeds with us making not a penny on his transfer?

Maybe he's learnt that the grass isn't always greener elsewhwere, but as far as I'm concerned you don't get two bites of the cherry?

Was he worried while at Everton? Nope?

He is up for himself, let him keep heading that way....

Agree2 Disagree6

Totally disagree with the last post. The lad deserved his shot in the prem and I think he did very well. If everton had money they would have sold him. Come home jermaine and you'll get you shot in the prem! {Ed020's Note - definatly!! he really earnt his shot!!}

Agree5 Disagree2

I think he's a moody little sh*t and many leeds fans have selective memories in regards to JB. Most of the time he'd just sulk and couldnt be bothered some games. Even SG sat him out for a while because he wasnt showing any fight. Simply because he scored two important goals for us people are l*cking his ar*se well its comical, however I will be fair! I wont forget his downsides as easily as some but he is better than anything we have and if hes willing to put in some graft then itll be a great move, but kenneth wont pay any where near what he'll demand in wages so its wishful thinking sadly. But dont hold anything against him for wanting prem football, he had a late career and anyone of us would have done the same, wages at leeds wouldnt give him a finacially secure future, they are professionals not fans afterall. I dont blame the lad!

Agree6 Disagree6

Actually he scored most of the goals for us over a period of time when we had Snoddy aside little else. I'd take him back in a shot moody or not

Agree4 Disagree3

So he deserved premier football while gaining himself and selling leeds down the river very short memories..dont want him back

Agree2 Disagree4

And dont forget he scored the goal that got us up to the champ, come home becks!

Agree3 Disagree2

Yea he'd sulk and score 30 odd a season Ohh for 11 sulkers like that this year. The club made a decision to keep him and not sell to NUFC at Christmas u clown be served his shot in the prem I'd have him back yesterday. MOT

Agree3 Disagree1

I never said his sulky nature would prevent me from wanting him to return just that all this one sided praise makes me laugh it isnt reflective of the fans opinions 6 moths before he left

Agree0 Disagree0

im glad to see, that warnocks targets are out in the open more, under grayson was very cloak and dagger, and seemed no one wanted to come, it looks like players are relishing the fact of wanting to come play for one of the biggest teams in the country, i can see a bright future...MOT

Believable5 Unbelievable0

If the targets that are being named are Warnocks targets the I wouldn't be shouting about them.....

we need some serious players pulling into the team, we obviously sren't learning anything here...

Agree1 Disagree6

As long as he's adressing the defense Im happy its been neglected for years and its been obvious to all that it needed major work, something SG never bothered to adress himseolf but then again under Bates it inst like he had much to work with. Weve proven we can score we need to fix the team from the back up, it looks like thats Colins plan so Ill support him.

Agree2 Disagree0

Grayson had to keep things hush hush as he was given no money so had to make sure other teams didn't know who he was after but unlucky for him/us was that the players agents then let everyone know we was after the player and thats what caused us to miss out

Agree0 Disagree2

28 Apr 2012 20:57:54

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Apr 2012 18:42:22
trying not to be cynical, but we was 3 points off the play offs when Grayson was sacked, and weve finished 14th now since Warnocks come in, i think Grayson wouldve sneaked us into the play-offs

Believable12 Unbelievable14

Mid table finish was the most likely outcome whoever was in charge.

Agree9 Disagree2

Did you witness the Blackpool,Birmingham,Barnsley, embarrassments.

Agree6 Disagree0

Oh wow a few games with freak results happens to every manager, least with grayson in charge we managed to grind out some good results n got points on the board

Agree1 Disagree6

Blackpool game had rachubka in net he shouldnt even be in a football shirt at all .

Agree4 Disagree3

We were going nowhere with Grayson, and I suspect we will be going nowhere with Warnock unless we spend some serious money, and soon.

Agree3 Disagree0

The thing with Grayson was not that he underachieved as leeds manager, but that he overachieved with Leeds.
I think if the transfer window had have gone better at the start of the season, Grayson wanted a clear out, Bates wouldnt cancel contracts because he didnt want to fork out! Grayson always said he werent allowed to bring players in until he moved other on. Simon already said He didnt get a single transfer target. He wanted Delph, Cork, Billy Jones, MaCauley, Gorkks, Lichaj, Smith, Bowyer, Woodgate all top players, Did Bates fork out? Nah did he chuff.
And Now Bates plays the blaming game saying Graysons signings simply werent good enough.
Everyone knows the players Simon brought in were his third or 4th choice.
With backing we would have had a great young manager full of potential in Simon Grayson.
However, Warnock will put his foot down more with Bates, coz he isnt worried about losing his job!
However, I agree that grayson could have scraped us into the playoffs. Warnock took one look at the players and thought, these wont play my style, ill start again next season.
Warnock will get it right this season, if Bates doesnt back him, He will walk before the season starts.
I was at the birmingham game under Grayson when he got sacked, and we should have been 6 nill up in the first half.second half the defence were just falling asleep again. No manager can stop that. it comes down to quality of player.
Since then, apart from southampton game where we peppered them and still lost, under warnock we have been watching paint dry.
Should be good next season tho.
Come on LEEDS!!!!

Agree7 Disagree1

It doesnt amtetr who the manager is if youve got a sh*te team you arent going anywhere....mid-table finish who ever was incharge imo

Agree3 Disagree0

Grow up you silly little child! You must try harder at school, or does that not MATTER? amtetr??

Agree0 Disagree4

Slight over reaction there! The comments made were perfectly fine so why the need to refer to people as a silly little child ( I think this tells us more about you as a person then the previous poster) {Ed020's Note - now now ladies, keep a hold of your handbags lol}

Agree0 Disagree0

I was at game today. You could clearly see who wanted it today, pugh looked out of his depth, zac thompson also. Hate to say it snoddy could have done alot better than he did, danny webber switched off after he scored. Brown and bruce showed some passion which was good to see. Needs a real clear out far to many passengers for me. No real "leeds players" there at the moment. Something tells me though it wont all be as clear cut as we think, realistically I would have thought 6 or 7 of the starting 11 today will play 1st game of next season. Pearce is in now, confirmed on sky. He couldnt play for portsmouth today as it was one of the conditions of the transfer. Oh and hat of to beckford today, thought he played to the crowd well and showed a really good attitude, especially when he showed he wanted to swap shirts with Bruce. WARNOCK SIGN HIM UP!

Believable7 Unbelievable1

I agree with everything you say except there is no way 6 or 7 of that starting 11 will play next season's first game. Not a prayer of that!

Agree7 Disagree0

Snoddy , clayton ,mccormack,,lonergan will probably be in first game of season with possibility of becchio and lees (lees probably playing at rb)hope not though hes a better cb

Agree2 Disagree0

I would keep lonergan somma snodgrass clayton becchio mccormack lees white nunez

Agree4 Disagree1

Bates will never allow Brckford back, and I must say I'd agree with that, he had the choice and made the wrong one, at least as far as we are concenred....

Agree0 Disagree3

League 1 or premiership. Ummm tough call beckford

Agree4 Disagree0

I would of chosen prem league aswel if it was my choice to make . everyone deserves a 2nd chance in my opinion

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Apr 2012 18:03:21
Paul robinson not returning on a permanent deal at leeds warnock confirmed after the match that he is looking at other options at lb

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Robinson was average to say the least you could say that about most of are squad big overhaul needed in the summer

Agree3 Disagree1

Id take paul robinson in goal! lol

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Apr 2012 17:48:32
I don't understand why people always think players will always return to the club after they have left. A good of example of this, is Beckford and Gradel. Bates won't pay the money were not having them.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

To be honest Beckford made his choice and I would stand behind Bates not wanting him backm he obviously prefers the green pound to the white shirt....

Agree0 Disagree2

Footballers arent fans what dont people get about that (yawn)

Agree3 Disagree0

Most players will get 10-15 yrs on top wages so at 26 and scoring for fun you don't turn down the chance to get that big wage. turn it down + get injured +come back with less pace = never get chance again

Agree2 Disagree0

Gradel has admitted himself that he would like to return one day

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Apr 2012 17:43:54
is it me or does warnock make the hairs on ur neck stand up with exciteing things that are goin to start happening over the summer and the diouf sarga. every team needs a souwer rat, as rats are known 4 being very resorsefull and f&%king quick. keep the flag flying high. mot4life

What annoys me about Leeds is, before Kasper and Gradel left they said they were enjoying time at leeds. Why did they not give them a contract extension...

Believable2 Unbelievable2

28 Apr 2012 17:37:08
poor end to season 4 me lads but can we really get any worse then this. two people 2 blame 4 this captain birds eye nad his yes man side kick captain poop decker(grayson). birdseye 4 tryind to blag are heads with funds from the player sales which we thought had gone on ground(not the case) and poop decker 4 buying aloud of oaps from yesteryear. if he worked 4 dss we'ld all be in 4 a job. on woulds and up woulds with sgt warnocks barmy army! mot4life. {Ed020's Note - errr.....what? lol}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

There is so much wrong with this post i wouldn't know where to start? and not just with your grammar.

Agree4 Disagree2

I like how you refer to the guy who brought the passion back to ER when we was in the dark times of L1 as captain poop decker

Agree3 Disagree1

Dont get me wrong he did bring back abit of pride but i got sick of him not standing up and being counted. instead he just kept on singing from captain birdseyes sheet and only near the end did he try to steer the ship, were as warnock tells you how it is, no matter who you are?

Agree0 Disagree1

He's was his employer what do you expect? Sometimes I wonder if fans think before they speak?

Agree1 Disagree0

I can see Bamba and Beckford possibly coming to Leeds. Beckford was loving the atmosphere and even made a joke out of swapping shirts with Brucey. Bamba also had a talk with Warnock at the end of the game. I personally think Bamba would be perfect for Leeds - big, physical player who could sit in front of the defence, allowing someone like Nunez to almost play as a 3rd striker. Bamba also seemed confident on the ball and made some good passes.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Beckford did really well 4 us but jumped ship when dreaming of the promise land and now wants to jump back with exciteing times ahead(joggon sniffer) new blood is whats needed and didnt make in the prem 4 a reason

Agree3 Disagree2

Beckford did ok in prem league .10 goals in first season while been on bench as 3rd striker with restricted amounts of starts and playing as a loan striker not bad in my opinion.

Agree3 Disagree0

Beckfords wages are high though

Agree3 Disagree1

Bamba is amazing, he'd cost a good few million

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster

I also think that Bruce and Brown were fantastic yesterday. Imo, Bruce should be a 3rd choice CB next season after Pearce and Mills!

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Apr 2012 16:33:36
nice touch of warnock to send the players out after the game , so we could wave goodbye to most of them, good riddance, bring on next season

Believable9 Unbelievable0

I left before they came out as most of them dont deserve a round of applause. only a select few.

28 Apr 2012 15:46:06
Let's get some perspective here! Ok, it was poor end to the season but it's by no way as bad as the season we got relegated to League One...

What should we have expected when we sell Schmeichel, Gradel and Howson and don't replace them with any quality?

Let's hope Warnock gets the backing from above over the Summer, and that Bates sells up soon. Didn't go today because I refuse to pay £36 for a game that means nothing - the bloke is a disgrace...

Believable6 Unbelievable1

We should be prepared to pay £36 to watch a game that means nothing this time next year. As this time next year we will have won the league and be 5 points clear with only 1 game left. MOT!!

Agree4 Disagree0

Gradel was the big loss. He was superb last season, not to replace him was nothing short of criminal. Over to you, Mr Warnock!

Agree3 Disagree1

Kasper was replaced...with someone better

Just think of the team we could of had had we not sold all the promosing players :(

Agree6 Disagree1

Why Zac Thompson? he was good today in midfield - just needs to gain experience

Agree2 Disagree2

Becchio! Get rid. If he isn't falling about he loses the ball. If a £1m + offer comes in he should go.

Agree2 Disagree2

Becchio! Get rid. If he isn't falling about he loses the ball. If a £1m + offer comes in he should go.

Agree2 Disagree1

Thompson will get better with experience and pugh is a decent squad player, versatile.

Pugh is garbage. he put in a couple good tackles today but that was about it. always getting caught out of position as he doesnt specialize in any particular one

20 years ago Champs, 20 years later Chumps, probably been the worst season of home football I've ever witnessed at Elland Road. Roll on next season,Warnocks 1st sentence on YR after match interview was "thank god thats over".Have to agree with him.Busy summer ahead with many new faces arriving I can't wait for next season to start.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Well done leeds squad you managed two records this year ,biggest home defeat and you managed to also break the most losses at elland road record so well done and hopefully the leeds fans will never lay eyes on most of you ever again good ridence !!!!

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Kasper got booed and beckford got a standing ovation.

Beckford got great reception - acknowledged crowd before game and gave the 3 x leeds, leeds, leeds arm pump whilst they were preparing for a corner. Reception so good Bruce offered to swap shirts with Beckford - very funny. Shame Pearson didnt see the funny side and subbed him.
