Hi i'm a bit p****d off about only winning one of our league game so far but i'd rather have a stumble at the start of the season like Norwich did last season and go and get promoted than screw it up in the last few games of the season like we did.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

How many times have i heard this one -- lord above stumble ?? they sacked the bloody manager - that is why they improved and at once - when Lambert arrived

Agree0 Disagree0

They didnt Lambert was the manager that got them promoted into the Championship 2 seasons ago not only joined last season to get them promoted to the Premier league

I think SG as a manager knows what we need, after all he did a good job with keeping Blackpool floating around in the championship while they were basiclly broke at that time, he got us out of that awful league by automatic promotion (coming 2nd behind Norwich) where the likes of denis wise and gary mcallister couldn't do had done as they only could had made us suffer playoff disasters (It was mainly thanks to gus poyet who helped us win games during the Denis Wise era) Then SG knocked the scum out of the FA cup, battled with spurs and Arsenal. He got us to 7th last year and only 3 points from having a playoff spot, but as for this year he doesn't seem to have the support/backing from Ken Bates aka chelsea scumbag who I do have some respect for as he saved our club but WTF? For us the championship is a 3 year plan and as for coming 7th we should be looking for a playoff spot at least this year right? We knew last year it was our defence which was our teams weakness and what was done to improve it this year? KB made it public to everyone about signing some "quality players" this transfer market and I been hearing a lot about quality players coming to us but end up going to other smaller teams in this league?

Simon Grayson is a good man it's just KB doing a lot of talking and no spending to help SG improve our team.

I'd like to point out that we get manscum in the FA cup again and I think us leeds fans will be execting to see a great game but I'm a little worried as they beat Arsenal 8-2 and we are sitting near at the bottom of the table...

Keeping a clean sheet and 11 players on the pitch needs to be the mentality the squad need to install within themselves, the defence still has not been addressed properly from last season, still shipping goals and short on confidence, also last season we never had a constant or settled back four it's the same again this season chopping and changing all the time.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I agree in terms of the chopping and changing.... but what can you do when people are loaned in / banned / injured?

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to pick 4 defenders and Lonnagan and stick by it changing it does not build partnerships

Agree0 Disagree0

Or concede stupid goals like O brien - then you have to drop them - and keep them dropped if he settles on his best 4 then sticks to coaching them we may improve ? But Lord hes had his chance to bring them on and teach them what he knows - maybe he dont know enough ? new defensive coach required but Larry too stubborn n proud to see that and allow / trust someone to do it -that is my feeling

I'd just like to say that, Simon is the best manager we have had in a long while. A lot of you guys say his tactical decisions are strange, but look at how many times in the past they have paid off

What's not to say that if we introduced Nunez, and kept attacking, that we may have lost 5 or 6-1?

Yes, there is some inexperience with Aidy, but Nunez only has slight experience at this level too. They all need time to gel after being out on loan etc. last season. But it's good they're getting a chance. The ONLY thing that needs shoring up is the defence. If we were defensively sound, we would already be near the top of the league. Look at Wolves who have had a great start, will they still be there at the end of the season? Pfffft And look at Arsenal who have started poorly, will they be down there at the end of the season? Pffffft.

I suppose Birmingham City are on the brink of relegation too are they? Come ON Leeds are a top half team at the very least, even without any more signings. And I think we will at least make the playofs this season :)

WMS - MOT

Believable7 Unbelievable4

What about Snodin and Miller?if we cant get new defenders in at least get someone in who can coach, the defensive spine of our team is woeful, same old story over and over again,SG sees what we see and admitted he knows where we need strengthening,so why in 2 years hasnt it been done, cmon Batesy, get Dave Jones in and give him some brass to shore the defence up and get us back in contention, the best fans in England demand nothing less.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sod Jones get wenger in

Agree0 Disagree0

He has addressed it.......Bruce, bromby, O'brien, Bessone, O'Dea, mcartney....shall I get to the quality now? Oh there isn't any

Agree0 Disagree0

To the last poster, Lichaj.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the lichaj that's at villa now getting on there bench? We didn't sign him did we? He came on loan just like , both hdbd gone onto better things. Let's look at graysons signings again shall we......Bessone, Bruce, bromby, Connelly, O'brien, paynter. All sucking up the wage bill

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's ignore his good signings shall we... Gradel, Schmeichel, McCormack, Nunez, Lonergan, Somma...

good passionate debate on here and split by those who recognise Larrys coaching errors and those who cant accept that HE has to deal with the reality of sending offs etc its part of football and the sub options are weak as hell due to thin squad

the facts are we have have only won ONCE and that is not good form -how ever pretty we play - the form from January was the same = all due to poor efending and Larys tactics and promises to coach the defence = its not happening. The error was clear yesterday despite how attractive the play was in first half WE LOST by not converting ( Nunez may have changed that in first half and we would have held on to all 3 points in second half even with the refs error of sending off aidy ) if this inconsistency continues for three more games then its time for a change - but agree Bates tyranny will not attract a strong manager and forget Gus
three days to sign two top class players - if they turn us down again then be set for mid table inconsistency this year - with good football at elland rd but too many goals being let in - so accept mid table and we are ok . If you want to go up then accept big chanhes are needed in defence and larrys attitude to Nunez and Somma when fit - and maybe drop john Howson now and then ? Lansbury is a target and would bring pace and strength and vision. Lichaj and a centre half also required urgent . basic coaching stuff this really. good luck and lets support Larry while he tries to sort it ( my worry is Miller and Snodin )

From the outset it was common knowledge that Grayson has his favourites. If your 'in'that's fine for you if not you haven't much of a chance. If you get a start it's probably not in your preferred position(see Somma) if you are on the bench you might get a few minutes (see Nunez). Grella never got a real chance whereas Billy P. gets too many. Tactically Grayson is weak and looks like he knows his substitutions before the start of the game. If forced into ones he is not expecting ie sendings off he is all at sea. Unfortunately there are a lot of managers like that picking a better one than Grayson at this point would be a gamble. He needs to sort out the dire defence but I dont think he knows how. McCallister had th same problem. Poyet is proving that he was the driving force when he was at Leeds with Wise but who would want to work with Bates. He is either very tight or doesn't trust Grayson with his cash (or both).

Believable2 Unbelievable1

We all knew who was pulling the strings when Wise and Poyet were here, but cant see Gus leaving Brighton, new stadium, money to spend, and hes buiding a sound squad, there ARE better managers out there, but please NO MORE EX LEEDS PLAYERS,Dave Jones would sort our defence out,its been s**te since Mac was here,SG says he knows where the problems are but does bog all about it,YOUR the problem Im sorry to say,Billy no mates has more chance of playing regularly under SG rather than Nunez, time for change while the seasons young.

Agree0 Disagree0

Grayson will never get us out of this league with or without money. For an ex defender his replacement signings have nothing short of a shambols...

Agree0 Disagree0

Grayson can't sort it out, if he could he would have done so last year, nunez should have been on from the start, his form demanded it, even Grayson said so midweek, but no sticks to his favourites, this can only cause disharmony in the squad,Grayson has always gone on about competition for places, but never follows though with real changes,if i was nunez i would not renew my contract when due, whats the point.Others have been treated the same too, somma,to name just 1,he gets in players that never see the light of day ie grella, tells us that he has been after players for ages ie bruce, but never plays them,we have struggled the last two seasons after xmas, scrapped by to get out of lge 1, was in a gr8 postion last year at xmas but failed to get even a play off place,Graysons tactics are inept.know he is a leeds fan but sorry he has to go and NOW, cos if he doesn't this will go on and on,another manager would be better organised and would get alot more from the squad we have.sorry larry but time to go so we can move on to better things.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2011 11:30:40
Wouldn't it be nice if Larry actually read these pages lol

Believable4 Unbelievable0

The worrying thing for me is over the last two seasons from xmas to may our form has been shocking even in our promotion year.So to start off shocking is just a bit worrying.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree totally...a coaple of home wins and a result against Man Utd and we will be ok, we need becchio back nunez in for gradel and a defender and holding midfield player the problem is as in jan last season will bates give ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe just maybe we might do the opposite this season and have all are bad luck at the begining of the season

I love the select few of n*b heads that come on here, last week after the west ham game you loved Grayson, and truth is if White didn't get sent off and we continued how we were playing and battered ipswitch you would still love Grayson, but one unlucky result and your straight on his back, your pathetic

Believable5 Unbelievable5

We need a couple to add to the squad but agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Here here well said, can you beleive someone wants strachan

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed 100%, well said mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

This isn't a knee jerk reaction from some of us this has been going on now for 2 seasons grayson inept with his tactics,we should have been in the play offs last year and we just managed to squeeze out of lg 1 even though we were top at xmas, the defence is a joke and it doesn't seem to matter who grayson plays there, the guy can't sort it out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey big man, you have your say i'll have mine, we all can put our opinions on here as we all fans if you dont like it then don't come on here, grayson out, this is because of the form this season and the last two seasons form after xmas when the defence sould have been sorted out but grayson doesn't seem capable of doing that,no nunez [sat] you have got to be kidding, favourites again being played, grayson time to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your pathetic if you think all should agree with you,all fans all have right to our say .

Agree0 Disagree0

I was on here last week after going down to west ham to watch us play. I didn't praise Larry and say he was a tactical genius, nor did i do it after the Hull game. I still stick by what i said pre-season and that Larry isn't a proven manager and wont take us to where we need to be........Does that make me a k**b head?

If Grayson was such a great manager he wouldn't be making the same mistakes he has been since he took over in league one.

Defensively we have been weak ever since he took over. The signings he has made to try and rectify this problem have been sub-standard and below par, or as we have seen pre-season non-existant He has acknowledged the problem, but has simply failed to deal with it. Youth is fine and in Lees and White we have two very talented players, but these need to work alongside dedicated seasoned professionals, of which we have one...Paddy, who is very unfit and suffering from a lengthy period out of the game.

I praised the talented individuals in the team for the results we have got, none of which was down to larry and his genius management.

I could go on, but i wont as i have said the same about larry on here, time and time again. Its plain to see whats going on and a change is required.

To be honest the "select" is more like the majority. You keep throwing your childish jibes at people and i will keep being a realist

Leeds "k**b head marching on

Agree0 Disagree0

There is a majority of people who have little or no clue about football.how many of those people were there yesterday, and saw put in a first half performance where we tore ispwich to shreds upfront, and looked very solid at the back. There was only one team in it until the sending off, and whatever Grayson had done at this point, he would have been criticised by this'majority. One final point, if you're the 'majority' explain to me why the Leeds fans yesterday were chanting graysons name at the end. They could see with their own eyes how close we are to being a very good team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think the answer could be billy davies.

Agree0 Disagree0

What's the question?name a sweaty, odious Scotsman who never took forest up?

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh well then as long as we were all over them in the first half sod the 3 points. In fact sod any points. As long as were all over the opposing team then who cares if we win. I was there yesterday and both the goals by Ipswich were carbon copy lack of closing down. Paddy should have closed Jason Scotland down, instead he backed off and invited him to shoot. Keith Andrews was allowed too much space, yea it took a deflection, but he shouldn't have been allowed to shoot....

But yea we were all over them....... Forget the three points

Agree0 Disagree0

There never was a question, just an opinion. and in my opinion billy davies is a good tactician better than grayson.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2011 09:03:47
Love how because we lost one game all the morons have come back around with 'Grayson you've got to go' & 'Bates Out' we are not a promotion team this season, we weren't last season. This season we don't have the momentum of promotion, it's all about steadying the ship this season because if we get promoted we have to pay a load of cash.

Also, yes we've lost 3 games already but we looked the better team against Boro and could have won comfortably, we looked better than West Ham for a lot of the game & it sounds like we were better than Ipswich yesterday. Two of those games we lost down to some indiscipline which can be ironed out, and West Ham was down to a few missed chances and a missed penalty, Relax

Believable2 Unbelievable5

I am sorry but if you think us Leeds fans should keep quite, your wrong.. We will not settle for mid table to start the season, we are PROUD were Leeds fans and we Must in the very least Challenge for promotion. we are terrible , i just don't see a way forward without DRAMATIC changes at the top Gj

Agree0 Disagree0

Could have, would have, should have. All if's, buts and maybes everytime. If we got points what we may have done I would be happy Sadly were not and all the optimists have got to say on here is "what if"

Agree0 Disagree0

No, most people think that we should win every game or be up there challenging for promotion simply because we're Leeds, all the fans that think like that, 'Gj' for example, give us the stereotypical arrogant, reliving the glory days in his head, Leeds fan image that so many opposition fans seem to know.

Agree0 Disagree0

I genuinely hate 'fans' like Gj that believe we have a divine right to get promoted just because we're Leeds. We don't. At the moment, our defense and the defensive side of midfield are far too weak to warrant that. Because we've had a bad start to the season you are calling for the managers head yet if we won a few on the bounce I'm sure you wouldn't be. Pathetic.

Guys - some really good posts on here regarding S.G tactics at Portman Rd and i have to agree - I traveled down with the impression that we could get 3 points against a team who are clearly lacking in confidence.. To my surprise the team announced didn't include Nunez in the starting 11 - this decision cost us the game... the first half performance was as good as Leeds have played this season, however we should have killed the game off with Nunez on from the start we could have been 2-3 goals up before the sending off, then consolidated with 10 men playing McCormack as the loan striker..... Many mistakes have been made from the Leeds coaching staff etc, to say our defence is capable of not conceding a goal every game frightens me... We need activity in the transfer market ASAP (LB-RB-CB)
Cant believe our best players this season are the ones we let go out on loan last - what if we had kept em and pushed last season

My mind wonders

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Larry could have left ob both forwards if he'd got Gradel and Snoddy to play a little deeper as half backs as the three defenders that remained were really all center backs.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2011 07:22:43
Another loss.No excuse this time. Told you cannot
put White as LB. He is not the person for this
position. Simon has to bring in a pacy experienced LB. Till today still not address.Window closing on Wednesday. Suggest change the defence again.
Kisnorbo should be taken out and replace.Shadow
of former self.Loss his touch. Bring in a CB,LB and a
defensive midfielder.Brown too slow.Simon's tactics
should change.Think time to change manager.
Defence still not sorted.Too many changes still
not address. Very poor. Not consistent. One game
Leeds play very well(against West Ham),next game
Leeds play below par.Transfer window closing, guess
Simon going to bring in loan players.Shame.
Leeds fan.

1loss and everyone is on Graysons back yes he brought Nunez on late but we outplayed them first half we were unlucky to lose still plenty of games to go.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

1 loss ?? NO 1 win in 5 stinks

Agree0 Disagree0

Your a fool, 1 win in 5 games is relegation is that what you want get rid of the whole board.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hang on, Arsenal will probably have won NONE of their first 3 league matches. Does that mean they are going to be in relegation trouble? I don't think so.

We would have beat Boro and Ipswich if it were not for some poor refereeing decisions and a little bit of inexperience.

The lads are playing good football, and I cant help but think we will be there or there abouts come the end of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wish people would stop saying we were "unlucky" let's be unlucky all season then. When were relegated we can say, well we played really well, but we were "unlucky"

Agree0 Disagree0

It's ok outplaying everyone if you win, at the moment apart from Southampton we have outplayed all comers but we are not winning them, and we are still getting the same excuses

Agree0 Disagree0

I like your style comparing our plight to that of arsenal, but let's be honest our squad is no where near arsenals. If they look like struggling they have the finances, manager and youth to come through this. With our paper thin squad we can't afford to loose ground or points. This us the championship, not the premier league.

Our inconsistency is again ever present and has been since larry took over. We never seem to really take anything by storm. Larry is tactically inept.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sending off's aren't excuses - they're facts....

Guys, give Grayson a break... We battered Ipswich for first half today and should have been 2 or 3 up. Should never have been a red card but it changed the game I reckon we will get some shrewd signings from PL next week and all will be hunky dory If I am wrong at Xmas then by all means come back and flame me.. Lets be honest, Saints and Brighton won't last and we will put a good run together MOT

Believable2 Unbelievable7

MOT normally i agree with you 100% however i think we are in serious trouble, i bet we dont win any of the next 3 matches sorry they have to go, they are clueless Gj

YEP story that SG has pretty much done his transfer dealings coming into the club but he does expect to do something before Wednesday deadline although won't be anything major.

Not good. We can forget the play-offs.

Considering nothing happened when the Club were boasting about imminent transfers throughout the summer let's hope that saying nothing is imminent will lead to a couple of good signings - living in hope
