Roque Santa Cruz would like to play in the championship and has peviously heard he would go to Leeds looks promising for the summer when he returns from Betis! Very reliable source from man city physic (parent club)

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Santa Cruz? another injury prone greedy has been. We should build around the Turner brothers, Thompson, Payne, Cairns and Charlie Taylor (if White goes)

what do i do if i am the only leeds fan
in my year group (east middlens)
sorry about spelling

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Keep going mate! Be Leeds and be proud!

Agree5 Disagree0

Laugh at all those Brummie sad gits . You are on a higher plane my friend

Agree3 Disagree0

Beat up all the other kids lol

Agree4 Disagree0

Tell anyone who gives you stick to do one.

Agree3 Disagree0

To the thicko who said "laugh at all those Brummie gits" - imbecile, look at the post, the kid says EAST MIDS!!...Birmingham is WEST mids, 50 (ish) miles difference.

Agree2 Disagree2

Stand tall and sing for Leeds Utd for we will rise and dominate again

Agree4 Disagree0

Listen young'n, theres loads of us in East Mids. Nottm's got a good supporters club and theres loads in Leicestershire where i am so hold your head high give em the Leeds Utd salute and We'll keep marchin on together! Good luck!

Agree2 Disagree0

The true support of a football club comes from the heart and no matter how good or bad they play you march on together, no matter what the influence around you, stand up and be counted.

NEWS JUST IN!!
Leeds to Sign upcoming youngsters Jack Squat and Si Nobody.

This transfer window to me is eerily familiar of the summer and for all of Graysons valiant efforts, have ultimately failed to produce many signings.
I am all for Grayson holding his cards close to his chest but I think it kind of defeats the object when Capt Birds Eye in his senile youth thinks it's funny to not ask him for names, but to perform magic tricks and tries to guess what cards Simon is holding.

At least Ken's brother Norman used peepholes to get information from people.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Yer and norman stabbed you in the back too.

Agree2 Disagree1

That's a load of Hitchcock and Bull! You're a right 'shower'!
Mind you if Mr Bates looks out of the 'Rear Window' of his ivory tower in Monaco in a 'North by Northwest' direction he might just get 'Vertigo' when he sees all the true Leeds supporters backing their team and not him!

what ever happened to this 'active week' grayson was on about... How comes sanchez watt went to crawley, and smith to MKDons and we cant seem to get any big name players in. Southampton and west ham are putting in high bids and we are not, we are meant to be a big club fighting for promotion so why dont bates bring in sharp, st ledger, clingan etc? plus pompy have to sell some of there big players to not go into administration so lets go for them... a few decent signing and we will be up there!

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Thought watt went to sheff weds {Ed020's Note - was'nt for a full season, i think it was just a month.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Its ok im sure we will start spending the money from the sales of players in 10 yrs time .watch this space {Ed020's Note - heard it here first lol}

Agree2 Disagree1

Bates will not spend money ,don't think some fans on here can get there heads around it ,when Bates calls it a day Leeds will go places ,until then let's all get used to it !

Agree5 Disagree1

Sanchez Watt, hardly a big name! {Ed020's Note - big name for league 2 crawley}

Agree4 Disagree0

Don't need Watt or Smith, and just look at the last player we "nicked" of Portsmouth wish they would take him back!

Agree4 Disagree1

Watt and/or Smith would have added absolutely nothing. Glad we haven't signed either.

Agree4 Disagree0

Give simon grayson credit he has done we with the money ken bates have gave him

Agree3 Disagree3

Are you high...? how exactly are sam, brown, bromby, rachubka, connelly, O'brien, pugh, paynter, bruce, keogh, vokes, mcsheffery, the list goes on of his failures how has he spent it well on wages or otherwise...!

Agree2 Disagree0

Pugh was a steady signing who will always give 100%, Bruce is good enough, the rest i agree. A lot of signings have been woeful, thank god there is about 6 out of contract in the summer

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2012 18:52:54
Well here I sign on, expecting to see us signing a Right back and central defender, and guess what, yes that's right NOTHING, not even smith I just think were getting robbed, I feel 2 or 3 good players and we could still push for promotion, but with out these, I feel we have no chance of even a sniff. Gj

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Maybe you'd be happy for us to sign another Billy Paynter just to see some activity then?

It is said OVER and OVER that we will not be signing anyone unless it adds something to the team?

Same old record, same old moaning, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Agree3 Disagree5

As the say it is not over till the fat ladie sing

Agree0 Disagree2

28 Jan 2012 18:05:46
I thought last Monday grayson said we were very close to 1 or 2 signings(by the way 1 or 2 is his favourite phrase)whats happened to these deals, its gonna be difficult to get any players in now with the way contract negotiations go on these days..maybe the best we can hope for is a couple of loans..i hope not as grayson is beginning to be his own worst enemy in the transfer market, his favourite sayings being-one or two names being banded about and there the type of players we want to be linked with(what good is being linked with players?)deals were close but for whatever reason they just didn't quite happen etcetc..he would be better off keeping his mouth shut full stop rather than continually leading us down the garden path

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I think the inability to motivate what we have is as worrying as the lack of new signings. Something needs to be done, too often we go down without a fight, there has been no real constency for far too long.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2012 17:50:25
When are you lot going to realise, Beckford isnt joining!

im a leeds fan through and through and there is no way we will get him, and he is only scoring in the fa cup.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

28 Jan 2012 17:35:34
Jermaine really does like the FA Cup I guess! He must have one of the highest goal to games played ratio in that competition.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

YES BUT ONLY BECAUSE HE HASN'T ACTUALLY PLAYED IN THAT MANY FA CUP GAMES?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he's played around 15. That's more than a lot of people...

Nightmare debut for Ben Parker, losing 4-0 at Hartlepool.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

What did you expect, the guys a liability, hope he dont come back,

Agree7 Disagree1

He just needs games i dont think ppl realise just how hard it is to come back from injuries especially the amount of injuries hes had . you just never get fit and you pile weight on and lose sharpness and speed

Agree3 Disagree4

He took City down whenin that league and will stop them going up. Why SG extended his contract last year I will never know

Agree4 Disagree1

Whoever said ben parker was a liability you don't know what your talkin about, the lad has struggled with injury but when he is fit is good, remember arsenal last year he was rock solid and is better than league 1 so give him a break.

Agree2 Disagree5

Remember arsenal last year he gave away the penalty that meant we didnt beat them? hardly solid as a rock

Agree5 Disagree1

What many people forget is Parker could not defend even before all his injuries.

In the FA Cup against Arsenal he was very very poor, I don't know which game the guy above was watching. I do feel sorry for the lad in terms of the bad luck he's had, but he's no better than League Two standard for me.

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Jan 2012 16:44:25
if the Smith thing is true i hope Simon is on the phone right now hijacking the bid. I still believe he can cut it at Championship level, and Leeds will always get the best out of him, regardless of the naysayers.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

More Brown than Batty I'm afraid, would be another sitting in the stands leeching money that we could use on a younger fitter player.

Agree2 Disagree2

The geordies are clapping their hands at the thought of getting rid of Smith, just shows how desperate they are to get shut be paying the bulk of his wages when he goes, hes better suited to league one.

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Jan 2012 16:30:45
Alan Smith to join MK dons on loan, so everyone can stop with the rumours of him joining leeds now. If you ask me, league 1 is where smith belongs.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Well we didn't ask you and smith should be giving it a go at leeds

Agree0 Disagree1

28 Jan 2012 16:24:10
well matt tubbs is ruining my bet maybe he will be purchased by a championship club like maybe leeds {Ed020's Note - i think just before the season started we had an offer turned down if i remember rightly}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

28 Jan 2012 16:14:03
Jordan Rhodes with another goal today. Wish we'd buy this kid.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Keep wishing, because Udders will get a good sum of money for him and that's something we don't have.

anyone heard anything about any of our deadwood leaving

Sam, Bruce, Paynter, Bromby, O'Brien, Brown, Connolly, Rachubka and Forssell all need moving on IMO

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Bruce could be going to USA with Galaxy, Paynter to Coventry in exchange for Clingan, (but don't hold your breath.) the rest we're stuck with.

Agree2 Disagree0

Bruce - la galaxy - not sure
paynter - swindon -loan
rachubka - still loaned out

Agree0 Disagree0

I would just let all deadwood leave for 50,000 - 150,000

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah get rid of Gradel,Beckford,Killa,Johnson,Howson and keep that lot, great team building or what.

Agree3 Disagree0

I'd let em go for nowt! get the wage bill down.

Agree2 Disagree0

We will never get rid of the deadwood...... he owns the club

ive got a real funny feeling leeds are going to sign a couple of good players and go on a good run and take us back to the prem or is it me just hopeing because ive just renewed

Believable4 Unbelievable5

We are on a good run now 7 points from last 9 just playing pants. i think things are about to change for the good and i think we will manage top 6 finish

Agree2 Disagree3

Wake up kb will not sign any one

Agree3 Disagree2

Love the optimism. Birmingham will be tough though, so not sure the run will start yet.
If we can beat them though we can beat anyone in this league. At the moment I am thinking Birmingham, Southampton and w ham are favourites to go up.
If SG does manage to get a decent CM player we will go up.

Agree2 Disagree2

Hope were not playing pants on tues, Brummies winning 4-0 away at the Blunts, and have scored 15 goals in the last 3 games.

Agree1 Disagree0

Think Saints' form will drop and W Ham and Brum for automatic. Cardiff and Leeds to make playoff final.

Agree1 Disagree3

Cardiff are the team at the moment that are impressing me and we need to stop them as we dont want 2 welsh teams in prem league

Agree0 Disagree1

Birmingham won 6-0 against Millwall who had 9 men for the last 35mins and were down to 10 after 22mins. 5 goals after the 2nd man was sent off, 4 of the goals came in the last 15 mins when Millwall will have been knakered. They beat Watford 3-0 at home where they are unbeaten, so no surprise there. They beat Sheff Utd, who as we all know being Leeds fans are absolute s**t. Birmingham have only picked up 12 points from 39 away from home which is the worst away record out of the top 15 clubs. We CAN win this game and we WILL win this game {Ed020's Note - WE WILL!!!! MOT}

Agree1 Disagree0

I hope ur right and we do sign (not loan) some good new players...but we've heard the same lines for grayson year in year out and unfortunately its wearing thin and the trust is gone i have a feeling we will end up not signing anyone and selling one of our best players on deadline day again

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jan 2012 14:39:01
The amount of people that hate McCormack on here is unreal if you went to watch he is one of our best players! Great speed, movement can adapt himself to our passing game knows where the goal is! A nightmare for defenders! What more could you ask from a striker?

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Ppl that want him to move on know nothing about football mate

Agree7 Disagree0

Dont hate mccormack, just think he is inconsistent, think beckford is leagues ahead. pace and finishing. but i re-itterate i dont think mccormack is bad nor do i hate him, i love every player that plays for his white jersey

Agree1 Disagree4

He is just like David Healy. same style and very inconsistant.

Agree1 Disagree3

He is always offside, never chgallenges for a header from goalkicks, and has the worst first touch in our squad...he gives the ball away all more than any other forward, and i do go to all the games..only missed palace away all season

Agree0 Disagree3

I think McCormack has got a great 1st touch & has got decent pace, some people must be watching totally different games. He's 2nd top goal scorer in the league & he's still gettin s*#t.

Agree4 Disagree0

90th min winner against Burnley made it 2-1, last week against Ipswich, scored most of our goals this season, give the lad a break.

Agree3 Disagree0

Hes not a natural goalscorer

But i would love him back Gj

Heskey ever comes to leeds and im never evr going back to the club i love (leeds united)
he is the biggest waste of space ever!

this is Fact!
fact that i'll never go back to e.r

tommo

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tommo, no room for facts on a rumour site, if you hate Leeds so much that you will stop supporting them because they may sign a player you do not like then as we say down my way, "see ye, don't need ye"
Go and support a team who only make signings you approve of, (if you find one, good luck to you)I'll say whatever i bloody like on a public forum its my opinion and i have earned my right to share it according to the laws of the land i live in.
If you dont like it well you can shove it, ive spent my hard earned cash since leaving school (17 years ago) supporting the team i love but we dont need another useless waste of space up front like heskey, we have 1 in billy paynter why do we need some1 else who couldnt hit a cow's derriere with a banjo!?!?!?

you've had your say on my opinion which i respect (don't agree but respect) respect my rights to my opinion ok.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Nice one Tommo, what was that school you left? Kindergarten?

Checked my post again, could not see what was in it that would provoke such an immature outburst.

Maybe you could point out in what part of it I disrespected your rights to an opinion, fairly sure you put up your opinion, and I commented on it, if you have difficulty with that concept, then do not post.

There, all said without swearing or anger.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2012 12:48:45

Best news all transfer window, scummer where he belongs mid table mediocrity with mk dons, hope you rot in the lower leagues you greedy t**t.

Believable5 Unbelievable12

What a person you are {Ed020's Note - was meant to delete the above post, my apologys to everyone!}

Agree6 Disagree4

Even the editor cannot spell {Ed020's Note - yeah, thats my dyslexia for you. did'nt think spelling mattered on a football forum, heres a link to a grammatical error forum to go mental with - http://www.000webhost.com/forum/comments-suggestions/25326-grammatical-errors.html}

Agree3 Disagree0

Why delete a post, of a person who is clearly expressing an opinion.

I don't agree with it, but that the point to a banter page ain't it.

Agree2 Disagree2

Take it your more forgiving than me ed 20 I bet you were slagging him off when he left though,suppose football is full of fickle fans like yourself,one week you love someone the next you don't,where i will only give someone 1 chance,they do the dirty on leeds your not welcome back. {Ed020's Note - i was only 16 at the time, i may of disliked it, but growing up with a father who supports manchester, i guess i was moer understanding than some others.}

Agree0 Disagree1

I generally don't want Smith back now.

If he came back, I would show my support for Smith as he is wearing the Leeds shirt.

The only reason I wouldn't want him back now is he hasn't started a game in over a year, and we would probably benefit more from someone else who is match fit, and ready to go.

A loan move to MK Dons is perfect for him, and I would rather see him join at the end of the year, when he has games under his belt.

Agree2 Disagree2

28 Jan 2012 12:31:39
all people on here slating rodgers b4 a ball is even kicked ! how many of you had heard of eddie lewis b4 he came to leeds one of best left sided players weve had since prem days. also from usa and one hell of a left foot. give the lad a chance.

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Sad fact is most people here just want to find fault. Those who were old enough would have been whining about losing the Champions League semi. Not real fans.

Agree4 Disagree3

I have my doubts he will be able to handle british football especially championship, and yes there is a difference between eddie lewis and rodgers, lewis was already playing his football over here I think with preston might be wrong.

Agree2 Disagree3

Quality post mate spot on!

Looks like Alan Smith is off to MK Dons according to this mornings press so all the rumours about him returning can stop! we are leeds

Believable6 Unbelievable3

28 Jan 2012 10:30:04
smith to mk dons with newcastle paying £57,500 of his wage and dons paying £2,500? must be b****cks because even tight-wallet bates would have snapped the geordies hands off at that price!

Believable4 Unbelievable1

WHY?,hes still crap at any price, theres much younger, fitter, better players than him,hes not interested in football, just money.

Agree3 Disagree4

Hes the right player for leeds at this moment in time .he will sit and control the midfield which gives the other players around him chance to attack .i dont see us even finding someone that can do that job anywhere for free

Agree3 Disagree4

I would snap there hands off 2,500 pw and no transfer fee to pay either whats it mater if he cant play every game at that price

Agree4 Disagree3

28 Jan 2012 10:23:14
sg said to expect 'busy week in transfer market' apart from announcing the las interset in bruce he has done squat all and im worried that we may not get anyone else in before the end of the window hope the situation changes though!

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Is it not deja vu? will he not say in 4 days time he thinks the squad is good enough>?

Agree8 Disagree0

Grayson will say "The right players were not available at this time and the squad we have are capable of competing" What he should say is "That miserable sod of a Chairman won't give me any money to spend so I have to make do with what I've got"

Agree8 Disagree0

the same story for the last 6 transfer windows or so
And on Wednesday he will say we had deals lined up and they did not come off for various reasons but the 'emergency loan' window opens soon after so we can do business there. {Ed020's Note - looks more and more likely the closer we edge to the end of the window.}

Agree6 Disagree0

He will say we have signed rogers , pugh permanent and delph on loan and taylor on short term contract and we decided that we have got the best possible team we could get at this time due to other teams not wanting to sell there players

Agree6 Disagree0

Do they really think we are mugs! It's the same story every window.

Sky Sports reporting Alan Smith off to MK Dons with Newcastle pumping in 96% of his 60k per week contract. With that level of contribution why aren't we throwing our hat in the ring?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Because he's past it and has barely played for three years?

Agree3 Disagree1

It's such a lie. 96% of his contract is £2,400 a week if I'm not mistaken, I'm sure mk Dons can pay him more than that.

Agree0 Disagree0

The remaining 4% is £2,400 I mean, apologies!

Agree1 Disagree1

28 Jan 2012 08:54:54
A question as much as rumour but why is the release of West Ham's Congolese international defender Herita Ilunga on Leeds Utd News Now website. Are they suggesting Grayson's interested or Wham are making room for O'Brien.
It's also running a story about Beckford in the FA cup and Grayson's gone on record as saying some signings could depend on the FA cup results.
It could be nothing but you never know.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

28 Jan 2012 08:47:38
Alan Smith is in his way to MK Dons according to the Sun, probably bull s**t but if it is true then why are we not in for him? Get Bates out and get someone in who puts money and ambition into the club. MOT

Believable4 Unbelievable2

28 Jan 2012 09:08:44
Smith at MK Dons?
Brilliant. He can warm the bench at the physio's hands for 40k a week.
I loved Smith in the early days when he was at Leeds. He was raw, keen and hungry. He played with pride, ran his socks off and every tackle he put in he did so as if it were life or death.
The large sums of money have made him soft, slow and he doesn t care anymore.
Time to stop living in the past, talk of Smith, Bowyer, Beckford returning. It' s a step back. Once they ve gone, that s it, time to move on.
Hope Delph is different. Still has a lot to prove and is young so hope he s still got the desire to battle.

28 Jan 2012 08:01:00
News is Alan smith gone to mk dons with there chairman willing to pay most of his 60 k {Ed020's Note - there you go, thats the reason, i remember him saying he "was'nt a championship" player when at manchester when they thought about loaning him out, now look at him, league 1, all you can say is he's bothered about money, nothing else.}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

According to the Sun (not a reliable source I know), Newcastle are paying nearly all his wages (paying £57,500 out of 60k)

Might just show how determined they are to get him out the club, and free up a registration spot.

28 Jan 2012 07:58:03
Shame Monty Gimpel wont step up this season! Saw him in F.A youth cup st Ips**t. Best player on show by far! {Ed020's Note - can't wait for the day he steps up, we need to tie him down asap!}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Only problem is if hes as good as everyone says it won't be long before papa smurf cashes in. thats if hes not snapped up in the summer!

28 Jan 2012 06:21:01
League one team mk dons are welcoming alan smith into there ranks, with a hope of getting promotion this year.

Awkward that we are loosing out to the likes of mk dons for a pplayer who could not only play a role at leeds but also boost the moral of the team and the fans.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Firstly we are not losing out as we did not want him, the problem is you wanted him and you were wrong. They can pay a greedy past it has been good luck to em. Do you not think ( sorry stupid question) as to why the only team in the country who really wanted him are a league one side with a stupid rich owner...does that not say anything to you.....as I said stupid question!

Agree1 Disagree2

How are we losing out?,league one is about his level, hope he signs for them then maybe itll stop all the crap about him coming back here,MOT,without Smith.

Agree4 Disagree1

Leeds do want him they just can't afford him and this now takes the biscuit ,stop been tight kenny boy

Agree0 Disagree3

I wish we had a stupid rich owner like pete winkleman- although I would hope he wouldn't waste money on greedy smith

Agree2 Disagree3

28 Jan 2012 05:37:12
So it looks like Alan Smith could be on his way to MK Dons!

If this happens I will wet myself laughing!

So he's chased the money all the way to......... League One!

I very much doubt we were ever really interested in him, SG's not that stupid. But if we were, THIS says how much he really loves Leeds!

Believable3 Unbelievable2

28 Jan 2012 02:26:49
Let's get behind the team.
Personally I think we continue to invest in youth. Try and get young hungry talent that is being overlooked in other teams ( like Clayton) or young players from lower league teams who need a bit of development and also continue to invest in getting the best players into the Academy.
I always love to see players come through who really love the club. Batty, Speed, Smith, Howson, Kewell, Delph, Lees etc etc. Yes, in the real world they are bound to move on at some point, but this is a long term solution. I hate it when we bring in 'journey men' who go through the motions, picking up big wages and never really caring.
Obviously it takes more time to build these teams and get promoted and in the meantime we often have to rely on free transfers and loan players to paper over the cracks, but eventually you end up with a core of players who have grown up playing together, they are mates, they care about our club. Add a few quality signngs to this when the time is right and you have a winning team that is sustainable and capable of holding their own in the premiership. The last thing we want to do is make the same mistakes as last time. Ironically we were really close. Wilkinson paved the way with a youth set up that gave us some excellent young players, but Ridsdale messed it up by signing some crap and paying them ridiculous wages.
I actually think we re back on the right track. It s just frustratingly slow.
We ve got every right to demonstrate and complain if we fon t think we re getting value for money, but lets do it before or after games rather than during them.
Let's get behind the team, it s not their fault. We re only a few points off the play offs and with a decent run now, who knows?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Its much better to protest AFTER the game, before the game just sets a bad tone, not very inspiring for the players either, strong vocal support before, and during the game, whoever comes and goes we are still Leeds United, lets have our 12th man back, starting on Tuesday,MOT.

Agree3 Disagree0

Yer, lets get younger talent, bring them on and then sell them and line Bates pocket.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2012 23:40:13
Does anyone else feel like that if we was just told the truth, just had all the facts it would be a lot easier to take than all the constant pr drivel from the likes of bates, lorimer, and grayson. Sometimes the truth hurts but at least if we had all the facts we could face it united instead of all this in house fighting and bitching.

Andiroo

Believable2 Unbelievable1

AFTER 40 YEARS AS A SEASON TICKET HOLDER I AM GONE - DOES THAT ANSWER YOUR QUESTION?

Agree1 Disagree2

If we had the truth it would stop the divide between the supporters on match-days...thus giving the team the maximum support the guys need

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree , there's too much bulls##t coming out of ER - grayson is a yes man , lorimer a puppet and bates the string puller - if only they would say "we can't buy because....." it would be better than the lies and excuses we are going to get come the end of transfer window - I am also a season ticket holder who is not going to renew - i know football is business but it is also entertainment - would you pay to go and see a movie or a play that was crap and then pay to see it again

I have just sent the renewal in for my son - £201 in family stand. was very tempted not to do it but he wants to go so despite all the bull**** we are continually being fed he will be there next year

League One MK Dons have agreed a deal with Newcastle to sign former England striker Alan Smith on loan.

The 31-year-old has been linked with a return to Leeds United while Paul Jewell's Ipswich have also shown interest but he is ready to move to ambitious MK Dons with flamboyant chairman Peter Winkelman ready to bankroll a package until the end of the season.

Smith is believed to be on around £60,000 a week but Winkelman will make a significant contribution in the hope that he can inspire Karl Robinson's side to win promotion starting with Tuesday's crunch game against rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
