Does anyone think we could actually sign Pavoletti? I'm not 100% sure but I have a bad feeling that we won't and we'll instead go for Cani. Most of our signings under Massimo have been players that we've had no competition to sign, which isn't the case with Pavoletti. If a multitude of clubs are chasing a player it means that they must possess some quality so I'm quite eager to get him in. Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sound reasoning to me. Whatever happens with him, its going to be in the last couple of hours of deadline day I'm guessing

Agree0 Disagree0

Pavoletti has signed for chievo with a n other player(stiker)going theother way
looks like well get cani instead

Let's hope Ngoyi is a better incumbent of the No.10 shirt than his departed predecessor.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Number 10 for a defensive midfielder ey. Here we go, N'Goyi with a few Austin specials ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Unsure of how good N'Goyi is but defensive midfield is where we have been lackig for a few seasons now. It's been to easy for teams to bypass our midfield, putting pressure on our defense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I agree but who do we drop.

I am a big Cellino fan but only for the fact that he has been willing to put his money where his mouth is.
However I believe that our in and out form this season (mainly out!) is due to the fact that we have had so many head coaches trying different players and formations. This must cause uncertainty amongst the players.
I sometimes wonder (and I know I'm going to get shot down for this) where we would be in the league if Cellino had kept faith with Mcdermot?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23rd?
If I keep saying that I'll be right eventually

Jason Pearce gone, having medical now buy all accounts, hope our new defender up to speed!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good luck to him, always tried his best imo. Slightly uncomfortable about selling players to teams near us in table though

Agree0 Disagree0

Disappointed in Pearce leaving us. He has got his faults, like all players, but has a big heart and that is something not too many of our players have.
Tom Lees has showed that without fan negativity a player can perform to much higher standards. Personally I would keep Pearce, as let's be honest we are not sure how Bamba will turn out and Bellusci still not convincing especially when it comes to putting his body in the line of fire.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a bad and naïve move selling Pearce, especially to someone below us. All it will take is Wigan keeping 2 or 3 clean sheets and we get pulled back in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Austins gone with him as well!!??

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe we've sold him because he never really helps keep a clean sheet let's face it he puts effort in but he gets skinned all the time and never puts an early tackle in just backs off plus he is terrible on the ball. ps I hope austin doesn't go with him but then again austin is not the most consistent performer

Why does nearly everyone on here dislike Morison?
Top quality player in a rubbish team.
Austin has proved himself good enough for one last season so leave him alone.
We have the greatest kids in the league but they need old hands to bring them on.
Ok nobody likes where we are but as long as we survive this year then we can only get better next.
From what I saw of Morison last home game
I for one believe

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mmm. interesting point of view. If he was a "top quality player", don't you think he might have just scored a goal or two? I don't dislike him, and he puts in a bit of effort, but most "top quality" strikers should actually hit the back of the net on the odd occasion, don't you think?

Agree0 Disagree0

Morison's confidence is shot therefore when he has the opportunity to shoot he looks for a different option instead. His work rate has significantly improved with his recent run of games and offers far more than Doukara who is bone idle and has little positional sense. However a striker's worth is measured in goals scored and currently Doukara outweighs Morison and therefore some supporters feel that Doukara should play ahead of Morison

top player but millwall sent him back and not played for 2 years says it all

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive been to a few off the games since morrison has played ul top on his own . The lads done well and I can't remember him missing a good chance imo if he stays fit the goals will come

Agree0 Disagree0

Steve M ain't top quality for all the reasons stated, yes last few games he has done OK (apart from score) but quality? no way, Milwall didn't want him, he has not scored for us at best he is trying but Smith would be so much better or someone like him.

If SM scores more than 5-6 goals a season I will be amazed, so quality? no not for me just a journeyman at best, we should be looking at better, MC got it wrong when smith was sold in my opinion, always have said this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I've already said we should just get behind whoever is selected from now on, and that I won't criticise any players or Redders.
Personally, if we keep playing and winning like we did last time, I don't care who plays and who scores the winning goal (s)

I agree that Morrison will come good - he is a decent championship striker - as is Billy Sharp & both will score goals for us if we can just create the chances which has been our problem so often this season

Agree0 Disagree0

He's getting on a bit now too, we should be looking at a younger proven striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

His first goal for us will probably be against Millwall.

Good news boys. Redfern is happy that Morrison is not injured and can't see any problems with him starting up front against hudds.
How about. He doesn't score any goals? Thought that might be a good reason?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree, its looking really silly having our two top scorers dropped for this guy. Midfield wasn't right when we had Doukara and Antenucci were playing

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, a lot of the players that have been dropped played in a diamond formation, which was never going to work in the Championship.

His re-integration into the side and our not conceding many goals is not coincidence. He allows side to have shape. If we go with Douks or Mirco we trade heightened ability to score goals for disjointed spine. This will result in conceding goals more often than not as has already been discovered. The key now is to have Murphy break from midfield to shoot. He has benefitted in new setup. Diamonds aren't forever.

Agree0 Disagree0

Antenucci
Bianchi
Doukara
Ajose
Tonge

All have yet to play in new formation.

Smitchell, that's because with the exception of Mirco, they are not good enough. Regarding Mirco, Morison can do it better according to Redders. I agree. We have the best team on pitch right now. Bamba and Ngoyi will make us stronger but it is time for Redders to get his subs bench right. Leaving out Sloth is no longer acceptable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we should give mirco a chance in the new formation

Agree0 Disagree0

The new formation needs a target man who can hold the ball up. That's not aunty Lucy.
