Interesting that some fans (not necessarily on here) think the academy begins and ends with Mowatt, Byram, Cook and Taylor. Still got plenty on the books and brought through loads before those 4.

Not sure of your point sg.

My point was that the academy will always keep producing players and the production line doesn't end with those 4 players.

Phillips, Vieira, peacock, Denton, and they're only the ones that we know about, we'll soon start to see these players rocket in price in the transfer window as they reach 22/23 and become more frequent squad players if they choose to stay.

The beneficial thing about this is that Leeds' academy is so strong and competitive that we have the luxury of hand picking the best players, something redfearn showed that he could do.

I know 2 lads who are absolutely ball players who had trials at Leeds, 1 got turned away at 15, and one was kept on for 6 more months and couldn't compete, turns out romario vieira got the place that he was after earlier this year.

We have a very promising youth, just like Southampton and Liverpool, and are one of the best in the country for it. Be fortunate for it and be excited to see the new talent coming through.

We have one of the best academies in any league. You can go to any game U16, to U23 and pick out at least three players each game who will catch your eye. Its just depends how they progress but must say the coaches seem to keep them grounded and on the right track so all praise to them.

Given that the team is now gelling - is Taylor a bit of a barrack room lawyer and a bit mouthy and someone who might stir things up? Over the years I have noticed he has been a critic of the management on a number of occasions (IMO) re his perception of the treatment of Aiden White, Uwe Rosler, Neil Redfearn and now Alex Mowatt. He always seems quick to make his views felt and they are usually seem negative. Not sure about him as a long term Leeds player. Attitude has also been a bit suspect on occasions (imo) .

He's off in the summer, just winding his contract down.

The question arises - is he Really injured?

Personally I'd love to keep Taylor cracking player, no better lb in division.

Can some one enlighten me. Regarding mcormak case. They fined cellino then fined the club. Cellino owned the club so they fined the same person twice. Can this be done. His lawyers are arguing this point on appeal. Seems strange to me. If you own a company and breach regulations you get fined. I don't think your company gets fined as well.

This can happen. In the case of a breach of data protection for example the company someone works for is fined and the individual is also personally liable and can be fined up to 2k (so I believe, I'm not an expert) .

I would also add to why McCormack did not get punished for using an unlicensed/registered agent/adviser.

Well the case over nellie the yacht reached the third and final stage in Italy and Cellino was aquitted, no conviction. Will be interesting to see FL response as he has allready served a ban for this and now not guilty. Probably ban him again for making them look stupid.

Can they deduct the team points for his mistakes that had nothing to do with the club?

Looks like they can do what they want. Make it up as they go along. No consistency in punishments, depends who you are. Hope Massimo sues them for banning him and labeling him a criminal when he was not, well not for nellie.

Why not offer lampard a contract, he's free, world class could work with the younger players, still fit. fills that #10 role to rest Hernandez when needed.

Think wages may be a big stumbling block. I would love to see a couple like Lamps and Keane come in, not only because they can still do the job but it would be good for the younger players to be around some one who has been there done it all over the world. Would open their eyes to what is possible and give them a bit more incentive.

28 Jan 2017 13:47:51
BIGE I have no way of knowing this, obviously, but I get the feeling that lamps is the kind of bloke where the wages between a lower prem team and us, the potential we have, and the opportunity to begin coaching some amazing young talent and be part of a revolution wouldn't make much of a difference. monk, pep, beatie and lamps on the coaching staff? that would be great!

I remember decades ago, we were going for Lampard but the $10 million West Ham wanted was too much. I recall there was a disagreement between his family and the club so he had to leave despite loving west ham. Things may have been different if we went for Lampard instead of the goldfish!

Unbelievable! We have been so spoilt with coverage here in Kiwi land that I have been able to see almost every Leeds game over the last 2 to 3 months. I never expected to see the Mighty Whites take on Sutton though. Yet. there it will be, live at 2:55 Monday morning direct from Gander Green.

Looking forward to a romp. The days of Histon are long behind us.

Correct me if I'm wrong but surely AR has bought half the club in the hope that we can get into the premier league with minimum investment and then sell us for a masive profit when we get there.

After all if I bought a club that I wasn't a fan of that's what I'd do. Or am I being cynical?

I can see a couple of loan players coming in maybe, but I can't see a fortune being spent in the window.

I disagree. I reckon they will have a 3-5 yr plan eyeing europe. don't think he is a buy and sell quickly guy. Might be wrong. I can see him buying out mc at some point.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - whoa back a bit there ausman, europe in 3-5 years? lets be realistic here, premier league is the goal at the moment and although leeds are playing really well at the moment an automatic place looks unlikely, that leaves the lottery of the play offs and as much as i would love to see leeds in the prem it may not happen this season, so talk of europe is massively premature in the short term mate, lets learn to walk before we can run hey..

28 Jan 2017 08:54:21
Let's get up and stay up first! stoke haven't managed Europe yet and they've been in 10 years! yes Leicester did what they did, but that's almost certainly never going to happen again!

I share danums concerns a bit on AR. He stated he was going to look at buying ER back and modernise it and look at merchandising but gave no commitments to funding transfers other than saying cellino said not to spend a lot in jan window He reiterated the old we have a long term strategy. Fair enough but when you are in a position for promotion you should go for it. Not saying spend big money but squad does need adding to. Suppose time will tell.

if you look at many of Rad's other bussiness dealings they tend to be short term flip at a profit type deals. I don't think he will be here long and i don't think he will really want to invest. after doing so well and Mc finally showing what a good owner he is (not a person an owner), I am slightly gutted rad has took over. just a mix of gut feeling and looking at other deals of his both football and none football i don't think he will want to invest too much but that said he is a smart man and we are worth more in the prem to sell.

To be fair lads he's just got through the door. Maybe give him, and MC, time. Need right players st right price imo.
