A lot of people were crying after we got beat by Newport but Spurs almost lost at their ground and it took some world class talent to avoid getting beat. Maybe we didn’t do so badly eh?

Well. We did do rather poorly tbf. Newport have done brilliantly tho. Well played!

Not sure I agree Alf. Newport have done well but they are league 2 and we lost to them so we have done badly.

Leeds are 5/2 to beat Hull away on Tuesday! Those odds for Leeds with Hull fourth bottom are the odds of an inconsistent team! I watched Wigan beat West Ham on Saturday and Wigan’s Manager Paul Cook has got them playing really well, they are fast on the counter, solid at the back and really strong in midfield, their hold up play is really good, Paul Cook would be a good fit for Leeds United. In fact there are a good few English managers out there that would do well higher up if they were given a chance instead of these foreign coaches! An English manager has the knowledge of these leagues and what is needed, Eddie Howe, Chris Houghton, Sean Dyche all of who are in the Premiership now and Mick McCarthy, Ian Atkins, Ian Holloway, Sam Allardyce and probably others I have not named but they all started in the lower leagues so it’s about time we unearthed a potential gem in The Manager sense instead of the under 17’s or 23’s! I’d stay well away from betting on a Leeds win for the foreseeable future until we hit some form. Especially with key players out.

Don't think we will ever have the old fashion type manager with Orta behind the scenes. Only a coach who can put out a team without very little Input into recruitment.

28 Jan 2018 16:48:54
I know many of you might not agree with me. But I really think that J. Roy. grot will turn out to be a good buy. He just needs plenty of game time in U.23s. And as for cibcki I thought against QPR he showed that he can pick out a good pass or two. I know that don't mean He's a world beater but like Grott given time think he could do alright at Leeds. it don't look like where going to get a striker until the summer so let's just all get behind the team and be positive. If we can put a decent run together and teams above us have a wobble then where back in the mix⚽⚽. MOT⚽⚽. ALAW. where Leeds and where proud of it.

Just thinking out loud. The jurys out for Lassoga on 15000 a week for a Leeds. Surely the decision is easier for Hamburg who are paying him 50,000?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

28 Jan 2018 16:25:55
Can't see him being prepared to drop down to £15,000 even if we wanted him longterm. If we did keep him and pay him the £50,000 others like Saiz and Pontus would maybe want parity.

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Jan 2018 20:36:38
Do we think he is anywhere near being worth 50,000 if we are still arguing on whether he is worth 15,000?

. letting wood and taylor go and not spending the money on directly replacing them was biggest mistake this season. we should of bought a new LB and a new CB and a new striker and alioski and saiz were good signings altho. grot cibiki Borthwick Jackson Pennington klich were all poor signings lassoga and ekuban are somewhere in the middle. ekuban I think when injury free and fully up and running could be useful.

A quick thought on the 'ones for the future. ' There's plenty of ifs and buts, but if just one of these signings will turn out to be a class player that top clubs will be fighting over, paying millions then will that make Orta a hero?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

28 Jan 2018 13:50:45

I’m reserving full judgement on Orta for a couple of seasons at least. I know a few Boro fans that don’t speak very highly of him. A major downside to this global net throwing is that it stumps the progress of the local boys that could come through the ranks. I know that a few of you have said similar in the past few weeks.

Really on the season to date we are too many players short of having a good enough squad, at the moment on results we are a mid table team. With the players brought into the U23's how many will come through, very few I think. Orta will have had his big pay day's and moved on and left a mess behind, with somebody else having to pick up the pieces. We need good players up to the task and this means proper investment in the quality of players needed. If Rads thinks or is being advised there is another way, he needs to get a grip or somebody needs to point this out to him . 2 or 3 years money wasted on this project, would, if spent on the right players for one season be enough to get us up. Buy cheap buy twice!

I have said before and stand by it, our players and sqaud is good enough for play offs, outside of wovles don't think anyone has a far better team or sqaud than us. It is the manager who is sub standard and missivly letting us down, should of got pulis but now go for Marco Silva (not a massive fan but shows intent and should be cut above at this level) or rock the boat at bristol by going for their manager, even get simon Grayson back, but please get a manager in place who can get best from players and lead us to play offs anything below 6th place is a let down and not good enough for the money spent and plaeyrs we have IMO

Bermo, am undecided on TC but I fully agree that we have a good enough squad, with two additions, discipline and consistency.

Agree2 Disagree1

28 Jan 2018 14:27:58
i have to admit i am normally hard on manager and first on this site to often call for managers head but i think TC is our worst manager since Hock, there or there abouts but then again I do know I am a nightmare for calling for the managers head, then again I am MC's love child

Agree0 Disagree5

29 Jan 2018 03:12:44
We do not have a good enough squad because we lack steel. TC still learning the championship game. If he incorporates what's lacking and missing he has the potential to be a good manager. That said what he did toward the end of the Millwall game was naive and indefensible.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jan 2018 11:01:35
5 points off the play offs now and in serious danger of getting too far adrift. Hull look to have hit form just as we need the 3 points, this next game could be the end of the season as far as challenging goes for us. Hope I am wrong and TC gets them on a run, but not holding my breath for that.

Maybe we can learn from Newport. Harass the man on the ball. Force him to pass quickly, passes then go astray. Show commitment Understand there are 90 minutes and 2 halves. We did this at Bristol and it upset them. One prob with this though, teams will exaggerate fouls, when its us refs will load US with cards.

. does anyone have a plausible explanation for bringing in grot and cibiki and keeping them at the club yet letting malik wilks go out on loan? Is de bock any better than Tyler Denton at left back?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

28 Jan 2018 10:18:08
Don't really understand it myself, but as someone said on here that we had 14 years of bad owners who ruined this club. Agree to some extent that we had some wrong uns, but during this period we also brought through a steady stream of homegrown talent that went on to play for the first team and eventually bring in a transfer fee for the club, the likes of Howson, cook, Taylor to make a few. The new model of buying cheaper unknowns from various leagues may have worked before for Orta in his previous club roles for the likes of Middlesborough?, I don't know as frankly I never really paid them any noticed until Monk joined them. Saiz has proved a hit so far for us but the rest don't appear up to standard. I understand we may have a policy on how much we can pay wages (£15,000 max) so someone said on this site, although the Lasogga signing is puzzling as he is rumoured to be on £50,000.
Surely the likes of Denton and Wilkes are not earning vast amounts or are less talented than some we signed this season. How many of the new signings that we paid transfer fees for will be let to for less than we brought them for?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2018 10:29:05
Agree that Wilks should be on our bench looking at our other options. Tom Pearce in my opinion is better than Denton but we will have to see how good De Bock is.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2018 11:00:12
De bock will be quality.

Agree0 Disagree2

28 Jan 2018 13:01:43
de bock is far better than denton, denton has skills and quality but is far too light weight to be a defender in championship, don't think he will ever make the grade, our right back (cant think of name off hand) is a different story though think he will come through to first team soon

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jan 2018 13:53:40
A thumbs down for saying de bock will be quality! ? I worry for some people.

28 Jan 2018 14:29:30
what i have seen of de bock (very little I admit) he is good soild bit like beradi but bit better at getting forward, i don't think de bock will be a dorigo for leeds but than again I don't think he will be a stephen crainy etiher. I think he will be decent and soild enough and good addition to first team

So. i'm interested in hearing the transfer policy after window shuts. Heres my vedict. Wheres the $20 mill gone from the transfer chest? Seriously. Does anybody know how many ones for the future we have bought? i'd guess at 12. How many first team players we bought? i'd guess at about 12. How many first teamers have worked out. Saiz. Maybe alioski? 10-20% success. So we spent entire transfer kitty on saiz? I think somebody needs to contact via tweet or email or phone radz and tell him what's going on. We will need to sell pont saiz and viera next year to fund another 20 prob failures. Its not making sense. He seems an astute business man that is being ripped off by a useless scout and pretend manager. Building for the future is going to ruin the now. We will have to again sell to buy crap. i'm really worried. Its stupidity.

The main goal is to build the footballing village at ER and then sell. If we are in the PL by then it will make more profit however, if not, profit will be made. I don't begrudge Radz that but we may have to endure more second tier football.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jan 2018 10:05:09
A profit on who?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2018 10:39:11
Aus, I can see us losing Saiz and even Pontus next season regardless of them being under contract. We can't kid ourselves that these players owe us any loyalty, but Given the chance of more money or better standard of football and they will be off. All very well having a 5 year master plan, but keeping the good ones we have got it going to be a struggle.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jan 2018 10:45:07
Not sure that there is a plan to get us into Premiership at moment. There is certainly a financial plan in place that will make us more desirable which is a good thing but does not help us fans much. Investing in youth for the future is fine but i do not see any knocking on the first team door. What is happening is we are loaning out our young talent which i fear will result in them ending up in the lower leagues. The only ones i think who are an improvement on what we already had are Sarkic and Muchaca. not been impressed by any of the other additions. In fact i have not bothered with last two U23 games as they are a bit of a shambles at minute. Why they would bring in a big gangly keeper when we have Farrel and Huffer doing nothing is beyond me.
