Massimo, good use of some of the gradel windfall, secure SB's signature for minimum 2 years.
Give the team and the fans the belief that you mean business this season and the next.

It's not about money with Byram. He wants to be in PL and vie for England berth.

Are you sams dad?

29 Jul 2015 22:08:44
I agree he probably wants to go if the right chance comes along. Who can blame him? It's not as if we can guarantee promotion this year if he stays. Or next year. Or this decade!

maybe fair enough with prem (at a push) but never england. he if was ever going to be that good he would of shown real class in championship in which he has been above average at best. Sam is never an england player and should prove it at our level before moving on (beckford springs to mind)

Fact is its his job, he loves Leeds but if you earn 10 grand a week and some one offers you 40 grand a week u go. Only Mr Stupid would say no

30 Jul 2015 10:56:43
don't all the youngster want that prem football and play for England so mc take note we need to get out of this league now

Well said bige just because ten grands a lot to us it's like us turning down a ten grand a year job for a forty grand a year job no matter what it's stupid to say no

Just been reading an article on news now about how were on the back foot to sell sammy b for 8 mill now with him only having 12 months left on his contract but the most important thing he said for me is he 21 i'm sure they have to be 23 for a free transfer ed?(Could you help us owt here because I don't know if fifa 15 just blinding me here.) As well I do think the fact we got wood is still suspect think byram having 12 months left will be used as an excuse for cellino to sell but hey he might be waiting to sell others to make him top boy and suprise us all with a 4 year deal worth 20 k a week lmfao

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - 23 if they reject a contract that at least equals the terms they were on. Under 23, if the club doesn't offer them a contract that equals or betters their previous terms then they are available on a free. Or doesn't offer them a contract at all.}

28 Jul 2015 21:05:49
that seems unfair so does this mean we would have match a prem offer? if that is the case we would have to better to match offer and sell if too dear rather than let go for nothing. of have I got wrong of stick again?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - No BW the 'current' terms he is on at Leeds.}

28 Jul 2015 22:33:14
got ya so if sam takes a pay cut he is free. that is unfair you can just give masive sign on bonus or after one year 20% pay rise or after 50 games etc. why don't they change these rules

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - Nooooooooo! he could agree any new deal pay cut or rise - the point being where he becomes a free agent(but compo does still have to be paid because of age}

29 Jul 2015 11:35:47
sorry being proper thick and bit blonde. I thought that was the case and then confused myself. Who decides the compo, if it is f.a. or chairmen we are in trouble. our compo for selling SB will be a ten point deduction

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - there is a compensation equation set by UEFA if I remember correctly.}

29 Jul 2015 14:50:20
least it is uefa not just fa, uefa might only dock us five points as compo. thanks for clearing this up ed's and sorry for being thick

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the usual deduction is ten points if the team's name begins with an L and has eeds in it.}

Maybe papa smurf did something right after all. Reportedly there is a sell on clause with saint etienne for Max. 20 per cent. Sale of 7 million to cherries means 1.4m comes our way.

The Championship is a tough league to get out of, we all know that but I think this year will be tougher than ever. We've already seen the likes of Boro and Derby spending big, last years relegated teams will fancy their chances as will the likes of Bristol City and maybe even MK Dons. There's plenty of other teams quietly going about their business in the transfer market and I can't see many whipping boys in this league. I still think we need at least two or three more to challenge for the tope six. Not being a pessimist, just how I see it at the moment, although ask me on Saturday night when I've got my dancing shoes on and lager legs down 'Spoons and I could have a much brighter outlook on life!

I was going to start a new thread, but I Think you have brought up most of what I was going to say Mick. Do we think we have done enough in the transfer window to compete top 6? I'm not saying we have or haven't, I'd be interested in what other fans state. To me the only noticeable change is the manager and Wood. Adeyemi could be a slight improvement on Austin, but other than that we are the same team. The manager may be the catalyst to a successful season as we do have some very talented players already. Erwin is one for the future I would have thought, pretty much like Smith was before we sold him to Fulham. I can't wait for the season to start and fingers crossed it won't get to around November and I be cursing another 500 quid spent in vain.

MM agree abour Boro, Derby and maybe even Bristol City but as for the MK Dons, they are going to struggle, they have lost most if not all of the loan players they had last season, and their top scorer Grigg has gone elsewhere too (again a loanee). They have a smaller budget than us and are struggling to attract any players. I know the manager has been trying to bring in players but without too much joy, sounds familiar, and no not a MK Dons fan but my Bro in Law and his missus are, keep telling them that we will really appreciate the 6 points next season heres hoping it don't come back and bite me in the R's

Yes have said I think we are around a 10 -12th place type team at the moment, said we needed 2 more quality players in but we all know the league will be tight as it often is.

Last year we were not that good (15th proves this so that is black/white not an opinion) YET we managed to beat many of the top 5 which kind of proves the point that if we can be fit/organised/play to a plan A and plan B and be a bit more consistent then even without those 2 extra players you can get close (look at Brentford last year no one can tell me they were a class side but they knew what they were doing and made most of what they had, managed well and came very close), so you never know but would feel a bit more confident if we do get those two more.

Having said all of the above no matter how good your team looks on paper, in the championship that doesn't always mean top 6 (ie Derby last year)

can see what everyone is saying and do not disagree or agree as not sure myself and everyone has raised vaild points. I think the teams coming down are weaker than normal and will not threaten the top six (could be wrong but think qpr are in real trouble, Hull could really flop if all good players go and burnley while good are weaker than when they went up). It is an anyone can beat anyone league as we all know, I agree with MM I can't see any easy 3 points just yet but they do normally appear as the season goes on (a team or two will struggle and become easy even if we don't know who it is yet) but this is why I am feeling better about this year

New signings. I think Adeyemi is real class and lot better than austin and wood could be our 20 goal man that we have been crying out for

Home boys growing up. we have some good young players, sam B, Taylor, Cook, mowatt plus others have all shown class and promise and this year they are more experienced and older so hopefully will step up to plate and show real quality and make difference. I also honestly expect more from morrision (ok can he do worse?) but I think he will hit double figures this year and be decent if not good player (i expect to get cained for this)

Forgien lot being more at home. championship is a hard league to get use to. this forgein lot probably didn't know what him them away to yovil and with pace and strain of league. I think they showed some class and promise. Sivleri the cat was good last year he could be best keeper in league this year. bellicu, baridi, ant (who I really rate) plus a few others (including captain Sol) could really show class this year

finally.someone has to go up, anyone can beat anyone so why not us. few years back palace come from last at xmas to go up, look at bourmouth and brentford last year, I mean surely no one called that? so it could be us and looking at team I don't see why with decent run it can't or won't be.

Then I do say this most season. so what do I know?

29 Jul 2015 00:33:33
According to that post bw. You know a lot
Hope all you say is right. If wood chips in with 20 ant with 15 and morri with 10+ then midfield help out too. Things will look good

BW you're right about any team being able to go up and the surprises are usually from teams who are new to the division (the unknown quantities). Teams will be more used to the playing style of Wolves and Brentford this year and they will probably find it tougher, this is why I expect Bristol City to go well.

I also think, the fact we have kept the majority of the team from last year that we wanted to keep bodes well as they will all improve. I just think we need to add a bit more quality and experience to crack the top six. We have a decent first 11 (with the exception of a left winger) but not a good enough squad.

At the moment I see us just falling short with 6 from 10 with better squads than us.

thanks Aus but not too sure. please remember I was the man who had leeds to go up with Michael Rickets as top goalscorer so. I agree with MM I think Brentford will sturrgle now manager has gone (really rated him) and I in fact tip them to go down (heard it here first). As much as i'd love a pacey winger/inside forward I am not too worried about this postition as think we should we can work without that player so if tatics and game plan are right (with redders it was very hit and miss) we will be ok. I would like to see a good center half if we got that and was hard to beat I think we might be a bit dull but not lose often and win a lot of games by the odd goal and that is the kind of team that sneaks up in this league

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2015 14:55:47
also agree with MM our squad is a bit weak but maybe a couple of players from youth could step up which would make things look a lot roseier but think we need a few more options for xmas period and game pile up. no this is bit bad to say but hopefully we don't get a cup run as that has taken its toll league wise in recent past
