After watching Mitro elbow our best defender but then enjoying the defensive masterclass which followed, only got one thing to say

BEN WHITE MATTERS 😆😂💛💙💛💙⚽️

#BenWhiteMatters should be our next big logo at the fortress.

Should get it on the back of the players’ shirts.

Important that Owls won today as now their fixture against Baggies won't be played from their perspective like the aftermath of a one night stand, i. e. a dead rubber. They can still get into playoffs. It's all coming together 😂😂.

TWITCHER ALERT 😉😎

Blooming heck bird lovers : another very rare sighting of the lesser spotted phoenix ' Georgie Boy' arising from the ashes 😊😊.

28 Jun 2020 22:29:03
Au contraire 'Georgey Boy'

Sheff Wed ( and Derby for that matter) will be competing heartily to the end of the season for points. no ' dead rubbers '

as they both need all the points that they can get till the very end of the season as both still facing EFL charges with potential large points deductions
if the ridiculous EFL ever get around to completing this process in the same forking season ( as they did with Birminghams deduction of 9 points last season)

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2020 17:38:06
Thanks for pointing that out Zooks. Can you imagine if both Derby and Owls make it into the playoffs and one or both contest the playoff final? What does the EFL do then?

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2020 21:05:30
Indeed Georgey

both teams were charged over 6 months ago and neither have even had a hearing yet let alone a decision, with this season about to be concluded in less than a month

. it's as if (the never fit for purpose ) EFL deliberately do not want to make any decision this season. Yet other clubs such as Millwall, Preston etc could unfairly suffer by missing out on the playoffs from the lack of justice ( points deductions) still to be dished out to Derby and Sheff Wed by the EFL

Conspiracy theorists may well point to the Derby Chief Executive being on the EFL Board of directors for this EFL procrastination.

I thought the great thing about yesterday was the fact we had our worst possession stats of the season and won 3-0. All reports I've read say we deserved to win. It shows we don't have to have 70% possession, and 20 shots just to score one goal and hope the opposition doesn't score.
Sorry Baz, but if we beat Luton it is all over bar the shouting. F#%£ the fat lady! (not literally obviously)
MOT to the premier league and beyond.

Danum yeah I heard after the Fulham game the fat lady is starting to recover from her bout of tonsillitis 😉🤣

. 14 points to be mathematically certain as things stand 👍.

28 Jun 2020 20:40:18
Maybe the difference was that Fulham tried to beat us as opposed to just sitting back? Early goal helps as well because the opposition can't just sit back and hope for a counter.

Totally agree Alfie, Fulham came to win, which in turn helped us in the long run, Fulham were shattered from playing higher up in our quarter, which gave us the stamina to dominate them in 2nd half albeit after the very shrewd changes from bossman.

Loved it that Alioski applauded the cardboard photos of the fans! Alioski what an uplifting, determined, positive character to have in the team!

I reiterate what I said a few weeks ago I genuinely believe it is in our favour that for these crucial remaining games at home it is in our favour to have no actual fans in the stadium . no unhelpful anxiety, nerves, expectation and pressure transmitting from the crowd to the players affecting their performances.

If there had been a full Elland Road yesterday of supporters would the game still had ended with a Leeds victory?

Far be it for me to throw water on the flames but I feel that Luton will be a lot harder game.
With a little teak we overcame a team who came at us ( opta possession stats 50/ 50) but I fear Luton will revert to the "park the bus" strategy and hope to nick it on the break. History tells us that we struggle to break down such tactics so, if we get 3 points on Tuesday it will rank up there with the 3 on Saturday. MOT.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

28 Jun 2020 13:17:13
Agree leodis, anyone thinking all we got to do is turn up Tuesday to get 3 points is deluded. Luton are fighting for their lives and on a bit of a run of good form. We know how teams like Wigan and Blackburn have come and beaten us in previous seasons when we were expected to beat them. Another couple of wins though this coming week will put us in a great place.

Leo . the most important thing is that we are more clinical in converting chances if so we should score the crucial first goal in the first half which should lead to a comfortable win

Also crucial that we eradicate any silly mistakes in defence.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Jun 2020 14:09:23
Also agree Bazooka regarding silly defensive mistakes, a couple of times yesterday we could have been caught out. The passing across our box by our own players worry me at times.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Jun 2020 16:55:23
Yeah Baz I tend to agree, the key is - score first. Anything less and it will become a mountain to break down a packed defence. A point at Leeds will not be a disaster for Luton. The key will be our wingers. Get down the line and turn them. MOT.

I was thinking the same Leodis! As much as we have the “easier” run in, there are no chickens to be counted yet!

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jun 2020 19:43:50
I've counted my chickens🐔 and they're all there. I've got all my ducks🦆 in a row and the ugly one has turned into a swan. Every other team's geese are cooked, and remember we have the points. A bird🕊️ in the hand is worth two in the bush! 🌳😂.

Had Mitrovic got red it might have been a different game and Fulham gone all defense with draw or breakaway winner in mind. It turned out great with our 3 points and super goals with Mitrivic to get his comeuppance. Still like to see them take a point from Baggies though.

Doesn't that feel better, really needed that win but was tough game.
Fulham were unlucky to be goal down at HT but great response in the 2nd half and we killed them. Very good from beilsa, needed the change and it worked perfectly.
Mitrovic should have been off and will get a ban but how cool is white, didn't get angry or intimidated, what a player and hope we can get him long term.
Pablo is amazing and hoping he taken off to save him as job done.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

28 Jun 2020 08:03:53
Mel, agreed mate. Pablo was amazing and many said he was to old, White was fantastic in his response, MB, master class, team didn’t play well, some will say they shouldn’t be paid because of it but who cares 3 points and we are on are way.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Jun 2020 11:15:36
Agreed Mel, on the evidence of the first half I was worried that we would be overhauled but the decisive substitutions changed the game and the little magician made the difference. let's hope Marcelo tucks him up in bed 'til Tuesday then unleashes him, fit and ready, on poor old Luton.
PS I hope the powers that be are scouring the world for a copy of Pablo, he can't give us many more seasons of magic.

Just watched the match after work and that was a massive win, and well deserved. Think substitutions were excellent and changed the game. Think a lot of teams will have hated that result and left them in the bargain basement while we are shopping at Harrods. Oh so relieved, Brom must be bricking it now.

Totally BIGE!
Having lost to Brentford, and with their run in, it could be a struggle for them!
That said, I won’t feel comfortable until we bag a couple more wins.
Dreaming of us being crowned champions.
