Why has Grayson LIED to us?

He openly admitted that Paynter would only be loaned out to a team that could not cause us any conflict, and here we are with him going to Brighton, in the same league as us?

I am (or was) 100% behind Grayson, but I seriously cannot accept any of our players playing in a team in the same league, whatsoever?

He may not be iinvolved in any game against us, but if he scores a goal and that give his team points then that is a direct point of conflict?

After 40 plus years of supporting Leeds United I am now looking at walking away, I cannot truly understand why ANY Leeds player is loaned out to a team in the same league?

If this loan goes ahead, I am walking....

..even after the forty plus years!

Grayson, you are an idiot!!

Believable10 Unbelievable17

Thats the way this club is being run from owner to manager, tell us 1 thing and do another.Glad Paynter going but should have gone to league 1,cos sods law that billy will come good for someone else

Agree2 Disagree6

I understand what you are saying buy walking away from the club you love is a little extreme isnt it? I agree its a bit strange is loaning a striker to a team in the same league but it is payntet so i wouldnt worry too much... You should stick by your team whatever happens.

Agree9 Disagree0

I don't think grayson is the person round here, and that goes for the people who actually believe this twaddle! If he is a fan, we don't need him.

Agree4 Disagree2

Brighton already have one painter- maybe they just strengthening the team decorating their new stadium

Agree4 Disagree0

Walk away, walk away and then walk some more until you hit the wall of reality and then, maybe, just maybe you might come to your senses and stick with and get behind the team that you profess to love so much! The rest of us true and loyal supporters will be waiting for you!

Agree10 Disagree0

Paynter wont score for Brighton

Agree0 Disagree5

It's Paynter? Besides if he plays well we'll recall him after 3 games

Agree0 Disagree0

So what? whinge whine

Agree0 Disagree0

You would walk away from supporting your club after 40 years because we loaned a s**t striker out to Brighton. Get a grip mate, if thats your attitude towards the team maybe you had better walk sunshine

Agree3 Disagree0

You ever thought they may have offered money to us for him, offered to pay his wages? I reckon the only way he SG would have agreed and changed his mind is so for this reason

Agree1 Disagree0

What makes you so sure it was Simon's decision? Money talks - Mr Bates is a money man. If Brighton was the only firm offer on the table then it was the right decision no matter what. He's surplus to requirements from our perspective and the money could be used to strengthen the defence.

Moreover, Mr. Paynter is also a fellow human being and professional footballer who, if he's not getting a chance at Leeds, deserves an opportunity to ply his trade elsewhere. For someone old enough to have been supporting for 40 years you don't seem to have a very rational or mature attitude to this.

Agree3 Disagree0

I just don't understand how allowing a player, good or bad, to play for one of our main rivals, is in any way beneficial to Leeds United?

Yes Paynter has the right to play elsewhere, but not at our expense?

I can put up with Grayson taking off our best players after 70 minutes every game, but actually giving playes to our opponents just beggars belief..........

Agree0 Disagree3

If this loan goes ahead, I am walking....

..even after the forty plus years!

Grayson, you are an idiot!

YOUR HAVIN A LARRFFFFF - get a grip we are top three by mid November - go support Brighton ad Paynter man if you are that concerned that they are a threat ?? youd think you were talking about Somma or Bechio ! ?

Agree1 Disagree0

Grow up get a life . you lot dont have graysons job, so dont go knocking him when your not capable of of picking a sunday league team .judgement day is may long live super leeds

Agree2 Disagree1

I don't need or want Graysons job, up till this week he was doing fine, but the obvious thing is you don't give any sort of help to the teans around you who could stop the promotion bid, which is exactly what Grayson has done?

He publicly stated on the OS that Paynter WOULD NOT be going to a team that was in direct competition, and yet here we are with job done?

I will NOT totally walk away from the team I have supported for all these years, despite what I might have said, both I, you, and Leeds are in the blood, and will be there forever, but I no longer believe in Grayson, after he has lied in public and done this.

I am not one of the anti-Bates brigate, but I have just lost faith in Grayson.

I wish the team well, and seriously hope we can get promoted IN SPITE of this ridiculous loan, but I seriously cannot comprehend why we have given a player to one of our main rivals??

We should not be helling out anyone in the same league as ours, especially a team who, tonight, are sitting just one point below us in the league??

This is sheer lunacy??

Agree1 Disagree4

"Brighton already have one painter- maybe they just strengthening the team decorating their new stadium"

Actually if you go check out the new stadium you would see how serious Brighton are about top flight football, they have spent millions of pounds, and that is precisely why I cannot understand why we are giving them any sort of help whatsoever? They are determined to get top flight football at the Falmer stadium, we seem happy to help them do so, possibly at our own expense?

Agree0 Disagree2

There are some real idiots on this forum. Real football management isn't like the computer game. Loans & transfer decisions are not made at managerial level. These things are a board decision. Judge the board by its actions and judge the manager by his results. No money, low gates with reducing income, I'm surprised we're not fighting relegation. I think Grayson's over achieving with the resources he has and we should support him, not whine about a decision he almost certainly had no control over. In any case, why should anyone be bothered about loaning a striker who couldn't score to anyone.

We will not pay Smiths wages we wouldn't offer Bradley Johnson more money and he's younger and better then Smith in that position FACT

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Smith will not be coming to Leeds, end of, stop putting this crap up....

Agree5 Disagree2

Its paynter for gods sake not messi and are they a threat

Agree3 Disagree0

Said it all along on this site. Not securing Bradley a mistake. He will be for years to come a regular not spectacular but regular Premiership player and he'll bag 6 or 7 goals a season at that level. We could have done with that. Getting rid of Fatty Kilkenny smart move though.

Why are people saying it makes sense one out (being paynter) one in (being smith)? the reason he has gone is because he is fifth in line for a start and we got Somma coming back which will make him sixth in line so good business again to ghet him off the wage bill.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Somma isn't expected back til Feb/March.

Agree0 Disagree0

We should not be loaning any player whatsoever to a team in the same league as us, let alone a team who are just three points below us?

grayson has lied to us, he clearly stated he would only loan this player out to a team that would not be a conflict, and he has just done exactly that?

after forty plus years of supporting leed, i cannot understand why grayson is willing to help one of outr main rivals out.

i am just about to walk away from leeds, as it seems obvious grayson is not interested in protecting our interests.

i truly cannot understand why we would give any palyer, good or bad, to our competitors.

i am just about to join the anti- grayson brigade, because i truly cannot understand how this will benefit leeds united in any way whatsoever. i dont care whether it benefits paynter or not, it is a deliberate conflict of interest!!!!!

Agree0 Disagree6

Watt a sad man walk away cos we have loaned a player out to another club in our league ,Keep walking down the m62 would be my guess surly you would be better off supporting scum .they have many so called fans turning up at there ticket office cap in hand ! W

Agree1 Disagree2

Nowhere neare the M62 mate, try the M1, my home games are 150 miles in each direction, thats how dedicated I am.

Cannot believe you people are happy for us to actually give any sort of support to one of our rival teams, especially to one sitting just below us in the league by one point??

Agree1 Disagree0

Help one of our rivals out by loaning Paynter? ,get a grip, one goal in twenty games for us,hardly prolific eh,Its Gus whos lost the plot not SG.

Agree1 Disagree1

Uh, guess you didn't realise Brighton took a point from Birmingham today, which is more than we managed?

That puts them just one point below us now?

You still happy that we have given them a striker who could help them overtake us?

Agree1 Disagree1

Billy Paynter is a striker?

Agree1 Disagree0

Dedicated and you are going to stop supporting Leeds Because we loaned Billy paynter to Brighton?Dose not sound too dedicated to me mate.I must admit I only live 5 mins away from ground but there is nothing in this world that would stop me supporting LUFC .

Agree1 Disagree0

Brighton took a point.....etc..??

So what. we took 6 points from QPR but they still finished top. Football league tables are not perfectly formed with the team at the top winning all their games and so on down to the team at the bottom losing all theirs. Whoever thinks that's an argument either for or against the loan decision is beyond stupid. One result means nothing in this context. Every team in the league will win, lose and draw against expectations at several points in the course of a season. The old adage 'the table doesn't lie' is an eternal truth. It measures performance over the course of a season not over an isolated 90 minutes. That's what matters and right now we're ahead of Brighton with a game in hand, not that the October table means that much either.

Paynter wasn't needed. If the money is used to improve our defensive options then it would seem a sensible thing to have done to me. The back four's doing OK right now but one injury and I think we'll struggle. Pay Paynter not to play or get a decent right/centre back on loan? No contest.

I f something were to happen to howson or clayton we have brown and thompson to replace them and we got five good strikers when somma comes back so can people please stop saying about smith because he aint coming because 1 his wages, 2 we dont need him and 3 we have got better.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Brown is garbage don't pretend otherwise. We need someone who is better than Brown as cover for JH, AC and MV. Enter AS. Sorry guys but it's happening. For 15 grand a week is there anyone better available. He'll be back in January and if it doesn't work out he's not our player so we don't have to keep him. Only a ploy to increase ER attendances anyway. MOT.

Agree3 Disagree2

Smith is a laughing stock in the north east. He has gone so far backwards that the Dog and duck public house wouldn't pick him on a Sunday morning. I was at a Gateshead v Newcastle match in close season where Smith was dreadful and taken off before the hour mark - he has a weight problem and never was a decent midfielder- though he did an alright job when Newcastle promoted to Premiership 2 years ago. Even the Gateshead fans were laughing at his feable performance. Please, please don't go there!!!!

Agree4 Disagree1

Might I add to my Gateshead match comments above more than a touch of sadness at Smiths demise - he was a fantastic player for Leeds United(unforgetable goals in Europe!) and I am not one of those Leeds fans who holds any grudges against him moving to Man U - I felt he had no choice and I know where his heart lies - Well done Alan and thank you!!

Agree5 Disagree1

hope i am wrong, but if smith goes to brighton before leeds we know why he did...

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I no why because we got better and dont need him

Agree5 Disagree2

Smith wouldn't get into the Brighton team, he's far too happy sitting on a pay cheque from Newcastle for doing nothing...

Agree0 Disagree1

28 Oct 2011 11:42:45
smithy rumours looking far more likely now. maybe thtas why simon let paynter go to ch team rather than lg1 so that the wages were fuly paid so that he can now move for alan smith

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Smith has no place at Leeds, all it would do is break up the team trust we have, it ain't going to happen...

... unfortunately, though, allowing Paynter to move to Brighton is a serious move that we need to get stopped!!

Why the hell should we offer Brighton any help whatsoever, how does this help Leeds in any way?

I am beginning to feel Grayson may have lost it....

Agree1 Disagree2

28 Oct 2011 07:09:28
No,not the Alan Smith rumours again. Why would
Simon want Alan Smith for? He has not played 1st
team football for quite sometime. He is not the
player he is before. After his horrofic injury,he only
plays bit parts for Newcastle.Sammy Clingan is a
better choice than Alan Smith.Simon should try
to bring Clingan in during the January transfer
window.Coventry will try to keep him,but rumours
has it that he will be leaving for another club.
Will that club be Leeds.Keep your fingers crossed.
If Howson does not sign, then there's where
Clingan comes in.Clingan and Clayton controlling
the midfield.Awesome.The RB position should be
covered as well. That is where Eric Lichaj comes
in.Connoly is doing well at the moment but I think
Lichaj has much more pace than Conolly.MOT

Believable5 Unbelievable0

After seeing Grayson is allowing Paynter to join one of our main rivals on loan, anything is possible.

I am beginning to agree with the 'morons' that we need Grayson out, if he is happy to loan players, gioid or bad to our rivals?

WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING HERE?

Agree1 Disagree3

What the hells wrong with you people,he loans out a player who cant hit a cows arse with a shovel and its calls of Grayson out?,Paynter is out of his depth in this league, better suited to league one,so why keep a player who cant get in the side, hes now freed wages up to hopefully strengthen again,Graysons doing a great job with little money, give it a rest.

Agree5 Disagree0

A little money he's on 7 grand a week ! I bet people would stop moaning if he used the money to bring that over rated x player back .I can see the text flying in smudgers back get in!sick bowle please .That's wen I would question our manager ,but not when he loans a player out who s on a sizeable wage to team who play against teams around us .It's win win if he scores for fun we will recall him ,and he may turn out to be the player we thought he was going to be

Agree1 Disagree0

Doesn't matter how good or bad Paynter is, we should not be loaning him out to a rival team, especially one who is sitting just one point below us in the league?

This is sheer stupidity, and Laads are not depserate for someone to pay Paynters wages, so that is no excuse whatsoever.

I just pray that Brighton do not get promoted ahead of us this season, there's still along way to go!
