Anyone think that the new coaches ideas may have thrown a spanner in the works as a reason for poor show yesterday? Jason Pearce comments on slight change in style giving me this idea?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not really

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont really think so trev. I must admit I was apprehensive after hearing Redders big us up after the Udders game, Antenucci also made comments. How often does that precede a fall? Did we think we only had to turn up to win? Hope the result was an educational one and we look for a positive reaction in our two home games this week

Agree0 Disagree0

Seemed to go so well against bournemouth and Huddersfield. Was hoping we were on the up. Poor show on saturday by all accounts.
Cant wait for Wednesday.

I know what you mean about the bigging us up comments vid guess I was hoping this time would be different. putting a good run together imean.
Seems long time since we done that.
know its only one (brentford) game hope we can get back on track against wendys.

Why no sharpe again
Anyone know reasons????

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Because he is poor and was just a panic buy to appease the fans. His style doesn't suit us and we are probably finding out why he was usually out of favour with all his previous clubs apart from Donny Rovers.

Agree0 Disagree0

For a poor 2nd class 2nd choice striker he has hit the back of the net quite a bit

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah 6 years ago

Milanic giving his reasons for leaving sharp out are on news now but I don't get it. He is saying that the young lads in midfield may not of coped well so he wanted xtra support on the bench. Thing is though if your not sure don't play them. I reckon redders wanted mowatt on but milanic would of preferd sloth.

Agree0 Disagree0

I prefer Sloth from what I've seen. More mobile but ofcourse Mowatt has the local lad tag which favours locals

Agree0 Disagree0

I really like the look of Sloth. As for Billy Sharpe, I do like him as a goal poacher, but I fear he may not have the speed we need, so I'm not sure how regularly he will start. But great on the bench I think

true sloth ok sharp no but then again why morison on bench I know mc said he like him mainly cause he's on 30k and wants his monies worth but still rubbish or does morisonwant to play now were winning still got to go

Ok I know I'm going to get flak for this but what the hell. I take my hat off to Redders but he has had luck on his side. The only game we have looked good this season is against the Terriers who are a very poor team. The fact we gathered some points is great, but we were poor in the first half of the games against Bournemouth, Birmingham, Bolton etc and had Silvestri to thank for keeping us afloat in these games.
It's going to take Milanic quite a while to get to know his players and the best combinations, it doesn't happen overnight. We need to seriously get behind everybody and not moan every time we get beaten, no team can win every time.
I'm just waiting to see if and how Milanic improves the team. I think he will need the rest of this season to start to improve things, just hope we can stay upper middle part of table, anything better will be a bonus imho. MOT.

Speedo, Don't see why you should get stick, you have only stated the facts, I have to agree.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Speedo

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah fair comments, but good teams play bad and still pick up points, best keeper in the league moments of class shown think with the right manager (which hopefully we have as he seems good and has a pedigree) think we could well be there or there abouts when it comes to the play offs

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Neil Aspin as manager? He is currently successful with a team at about the same level as Maribor.

Agree0 Disagree0

Halifax play at a similar level to Maribor! I understand you may be frustrated with the appointment of Milanic, but your comment is nonsense

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post speedo, what we need is MC to stay with Milanic & not push the panic button. He has given him a two year deal & he at least now needs to let him see out this season as I fear if he doesn't we won't attract any real class coaches in the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree shag about givin darko time but don't agree with not being able to sack managers if he gets rid of him. mc could sack a manager every three weeks and still get people cueing for job (top people too) if you get sacked you get a big pay off, always better to be in work than out of it and every professional sports person has an arrogence and must believe in themselves so they would believe they are the people to take leeds up and not get sacked

How did Byram play yesterday, does the diamond midfield not suit him, as a pacey full back he has the ability to get down the flanks but I think a 4-4-2 would suit him better.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Really? In a 442 he'd just be a full back. In a 3 5 2 or a 5 3 2 he could use his talents up and down the channels but not in a 442. Have you ever coached a team? I usually agree with your posts Andy but I think you might e by Mam posting now. You had me fooled for a while mother

Agree0 Disagree0

At least he would have cover going forward. The diamond is to narrow, he just doesn't seem the player he was 2 seasons ago.

OK, so yesterday was total rubbish. Last Saturday was fantastic - but did anyone really think we were going to play like that every week, I wish.
I think too many people have too high an expectation for what is possible this season. I'll be happy with top 10. If we flirt with top 6 that will be brilliant. Milanic needs to be given at least until Christmas to be judged properly, and unless we are to near the bottom then, he needs to be given the whole season. These people that think that every game would have been perfect under Redders are deluded.
Yesterday was just a blip (hopefully), and there will be more - just as there would have been with NR at the helm. And I agree the team and substitute selection might not have been my first choice, but give the guy a few games at least to assess his best 11. I know we are all itching to see Adryan and Benedicic play. But do we really think the coaching staff are deliberately not playing them if they think they are better than the ones who play. We might just have to be patient to see them

Well alas we had a setback with the result yesterday. But where can you get a chairman that sits with the fans. Brilliant.

He's certainly a one off lol

Well a really poor day for lufc at Brentford. Completely overrun in midfield, you must win the right to play no matter who opponents are. Where was the togetherness, the spirit, the passing, ball retention by forwards all of which we've had for a few games. So many bad performances and only one player with any credit, Sylvestri.
So was this arrogance because we were winning games 3-0, 3-1, or has the heart been ripped out by new coach & methods. In my opinion it's too early to say right now but if we don't improve again & fast the conclusion is an easy one to make.
This was almost the same side that took Udders apart, ok bench was uninspiring & filling with faces we don't want to see but basic starting 11 the same. Maybe Sloth for Mowatt would have been my choice but wouldn't have made much difference in my opinion. I believe we've been training differently, concentrating on shape instead of passing & speed work. I believe the playrrs weren't happy with the changes as has been reported this week. I also think the players haven't bought into Darko yet but that's no excuse for that performance and I do expect better against Reading at home. Ticket sales for that game at about 9k so far.
So do we call for Darko's head already or give him some time. Not the amount he'd like but a month to 6 weeks to see if he can get them going again. I plump for the latter but quite honestly if it's not right by then it never will be with him.
so let's march on together and see if there is a reaction on Wednesday

Could not understand the bench for this match, why bring back Tonge ,Murphy when we have Montenegro, Benedicic. Do not think these were Milanic choices and can only assume Redders had a say in it, strange selection when we were moving forwards so well. Need a striker on bench. Also I have said all along Austin and Pearce are not good enough, not consistent and give a couple of good games then disappear. New coach may have unsettled things a bit but Sloth on the bench was a mistake, Bianchi plays well with him. Well if Milanic is any good he will recognise his best players in a week or two. no service to front two all game, Doukara went looking for it but midfield played crap, need to rotate young ones Cook can't play three games a week

Honestly I thought redders should of been given until christmas at least but for fans to slate Milanic after one game is crazy. MOT.

It's not just that we were beaten. It's the feeling that the players weren't up for it like they were. Whilst I would have preferred Redders I don't want to knock Darko prematurely, but I fear another experimental wasted season.
