Watching the Fulham game and my god the defending is absolutely awful. I can't remember for sure who said it but have an idea it was either George or george who claimed that if Leeds signed Michael Hector last season all our defensive problems would be sorted! Maybe he's just having a bad time of late? Hector I mean.

Cork Twas I and Welching Berm. Everyone entitled to a bad game but this is the PL, no easy games.

If we pick up Cuisance does that finish Cantwell AND the ongoing/ neverending De Paul saga?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

29 Sep 2020 05:57:14
Don’t think so Cuisance by looks of it could play to left of England international Kalvin. Or the CDM rule probably. He’s technically very good. Peach of a left foot. There is not a great deal of footage as he’s not played that many games, but he looks a player. Klich, England international Kalvin and Cuisance would be quite an engine room

DePaul would probably play further forward

Cantwell, good player, not yet in the same category but only 22 OFTF

Prefer his mate Buendia but not at silly money now we have Rodders.

Well done Under 23s on their first win in the new league 3-1 away at Sunderland. Nice to see a new line up starting to gel. The Wigan lad will get a lot of plaudits but greenwood the lad we picked up from Arsenal got a good hat trick and lots of good performances today.

These (and others) are some of the reasons I am not too worried about potential signings.

Debate guys. I know we are lucky enough to have Bubs, but nothing lasts forever, particularly with a rolling contract, so if you had to have a manager now, not Bubs though, who would it be?
I think for me it would be Pochatino purely based on a similar footballing style,

Thoughts!

It’s something I can’t even bare to think about . I’d absolutely love poch to replace him I when the inevitable happens.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Sep 2020 17:42:14
I think we should go for something more conventional. Pardew, Moyes, I know Heckungbottom is doing nowt or maybe bring Colin W back from his hold in Cornwall. of course. the real prize would be bringing back young Dennis Wise. the club is screaming for a bit more Chelsea back in it.

Otherwise . look . I know he’s not popular. but Sir Alex looks like a forlorn figure on the terraces of Old Trafford. why not give that lovely man another go.

(TW ducks in anticipation of sharp objects being thrown in his direction 🤪😂🤣)

Me too, can't bear the thought of him going, but i genuinely can't think of anyone that could replace him at this moment in time other than poch.

Arteta and Simeone both play a similar brand of football. Loch is also a good shout. There will plenty of managers who would like the job.
We have to stick with the system we now play .
So we will need someone who will carry on that brand of football
The blueprint is there, what we don't want is foreboding ruling that up and changing it all, wasting all the hard work done to date.

He king bottom was recruited by Mr Wilder as the Blades new U23 Manager hence him being in attendance in the Directors box.

Must have been a difficult watch for Hecky!

Poch ticks the boxes

He needs another year off after dealing with barrow boy Levy

Think the stars may then align

Good coach with young players and Radz would support him.

Good.
Harrison. As usual. My man of season last year.
Mez. Brilliant saves.
Proved. Awesome cameo.
Koch getting huge.
Bam lol. Wtf happened to you son. Loving it.
Bad
Ayling
Roberts.

Bad Ayling?,?,?

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Sep 2020 17:35:10
Ayling had some very good moments and has to go down as the most improved player in the league and a special Leeds type of player. And I love him in the team.

. but.

Sunday he had a couple of massive give away that could have cost us dearly.

He was trying to do too much on penetrating runs (as Bielsa put it “destabilizing play”)

Dallas at LB did same in second half but got away with it.

He’ll want a better game on Saturday versus Citeh.

The full backs are encouraged to do that on the knowledge if they go forward, England international Kalvin Phillips drops in to make a 3 and the other two cbs go wider.

Alf

I will count down from 5, to 4, to 3, to 2, and one

When I click my fingers you will be back in the room.

All texted in jest mucka. I think he is doing brilliantly for us and a definite Side-before-self character. Think back over the years at all those lazy strikers we have had who only wanted to goal hang. I put Bamford up there with Becchio for his attitude. and Becchio wasnt prolific at the beginning.

Looking at what Bielsa does for Paddy maybe we should resign Billy Paynter - would be a Ballon D'or contender with Marcelo in charge.

I think Cantwell will grow to become a good player but with the quality england have in attack I doubt he will become a regular for his country

I think de Paul is ready right now. I just don't think we can afford the time for Cantwell to blossom. aren't we doing that with Robert's already?

Lots of praise for Meslier, and well deserved praise aswell, but Mr Muppet Wilder should watch the game back, because I think he will see his goalie make 3 or 4 good saves aswell,
On another note, had a fantastic chat at work with Man City fan, who pointed out to me that When Pep has an issue they just throw money at it, why buy a 70 mill defender, can't the so called greatest coach make the ones he has better, like what MB has done with ayling Dallas, cooper, Phillip's, bamford, klich etc, etc, etc
MB TAKE A BOW

That's exactly it, pep, jose, fat frank, carlo, all these ( supposedly ) top managers, only thing they're top at is spending 100,s of millions

Bubs is the real deal, a manager who manages players both literally and physically improving their collective abilities

Only problem is, when he goes the next few mangers haven't a hope in terms of measuring up too him😂.

Extremely happy Leeds fan this morning as we all should be . Tremendous team performance yesterday against what are still a very well drilled side . There were some obvious stand outs but I will pick out Stuarty who was absolutely everywhere with his tackles, dribbles and shots .

Very unlucky not to score . He looks every inch a premier league player to me . Feeling more and more confident that we will comfortably survive this season . My gut feeling is we will sign Cuisance as our box to boxer and Kent as our ten / winger . If so it's a tremendous window all things considered.

My ideal preferences of the players we were linked with would have been spending our money on just 3 : Watkins, De Paul and White . But ultimately the latter two have proven priced out of the market and we will end up with Koch and Llorente for the price of White and hopefully Cuisance and Kent for the price of De Paul .

I still have strong reservations about Rodrigo . Just don't think he will score the necessary goals but I guess as long as he contributes and Bam keeps scoring it will do . I actually think the best striker on our books will end up being Joffy .

If I'm being picky I think if we really want to tear up the league we need better full backs defensively . I like Ayling but he looks vulnerable against runners and has been caught out a few times already trying to do too much dribbling in our own half . The the fall backs will however, need to wait until next Summer .

Final point on Tyler . He was the obvious disappointment yesterday and hasn't actually been at it since we came back from lockdown. However, I see no point in selling him . Championship teams have no money to buy players . So what will we get for him?

May be £4/5m tops which with our new budget is a drop in the ocean . I still think there's a player there and if anyone can find him consistently, MB can . No point selling and I wouldn't loan him out either .

We all wanted a boring one nil win, got the win but not boring, was frantic and either team could have nicked it.
Got to say Meslier was top draw, 2 amazing saves and kept us in game and as a result, we won it.
Also thought Koch was very good, seems in first half we were basically 3 at the back as Dallas roaming, maybe bielsa will try using Llorente too.
For me Roberts is weak link and if derby want him, sell him.
Rodrigo and Poveda made a big difference and looked sharper, great cross from Harrison and 3 in 3 for bamford.
Felt we got over run in middle and teams that can finish could have hurt us today.
We desperately need that creative MF player, we build attacks well starting from GK, / ailing but need that player that can receive ball and create.
Let's see what last week of window brings.

Roberts is definitely the weak link. Too much kneeling, not enough working.

28 Sep 2020 08:04:17
Agree Meslier, really pleased for him. Eye catching performance and answered his critics a bit. Hope it gives him the confidence to nail the number one and keep Kino warming a very expensive bench seat!

Roberts still a bit of an enigma! Always shows flashes of both brilliance and then danger! Probably needs to be an out and out striker but doesn’t come near Bamford in workload. Might benefit from a championship loan to see how he does with some regular football.

Finally Bamford! Well done fella, keeping the workload up and making the most of chances, can’t ask for much more, been a candidate for mom in all three games!
