Is Pablo actually injured still?
When is Llorente due back?
Where will Rodrigo play?
So many questions.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2020 22:45:57
The Pablo "issue" has been concerning me . but as Bielsa is renowned for his honesty if he actually says Pablo is injured then one expects it is a given he is actually injured. Hopefully Pablo will be on the bench against Chelsea or the following matches!

Heard Llorente ( hopefully) will be fully recovered and available by mid December. Match fitness will then be the issue!

Rodrigo good question . looks like he may be on the bench for the time being at least!

30 Nov 2020 09:44:45
Rodrigo will fill the second midfield position with Dallas going back to left back.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Nov 2020 12:02:31
Next match away to Chelski I am sure Bielsa will keep the same eleven with Rodrigo on the bench again.

30 Nov 2020 16:41:49
Agree Baz, same team. Alioski has done well last two, as has Dallas, who did a great job on James Rodriguez last time out! Super Rod will have to wait for a chance!

We need to use all means including emotional ties to get Haaland . The lad is absolute class and works hard too.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2020 21:37:09
It would be absolutely brilliant but in reality.

No chance of it happening as although Haaland has as it turns out a very reasonable release clause of £67 million clause, it can't be activated until 2022 and more to the point one can expect all the top clubs to be in for him witb offers of very high salaries to boot far in excess of what Leeds could offer.

As for any emotional ties the lad was born in Leeds and his dad played for Leeds so there is a tenuous connection of sorts , but also from his interviews when asked Haaland has clearly stated that he does not support Leeds.

Money will talk end of.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Nov 2020 05:20:10
Baz What you describe is hardly tenuous. Are you unfamiliar with concepts such as home is where the heart is and to follow in your father's footsteps? I can see us in the mix for him next year along with the more powerful Citeh and sadly other big clubs. You never know.

30 Nov 2020 07:22:02
Mike1955, that would definitely be a top class signing, let’s hope in January window lol!

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - there’s more chance of me and my brother getting married and having triplets than there is of Haaland signing for Leeds this summer.

30 Nov 2020 11:50:44
George blind optimism and naivety 😉 if Haaland signs for Leeds in tne next 2 years ( or even at all ) I will run down the street naked.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Nov 2020 13:52:55
Baz Please may I choose the street and time? How about 9am? Street, let's go with a Blackburn Rovers left winger in his mid thirties, his last name to be sure. Full tv coverage. You can then go sightseeing with Berm.

30 Nov 2020 14:59:20
Well George there is always your sure thing Che Adams signing prediction to fall back on. Oh wait 😉.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Nov 2020 11:02:37
Indeed Ed0666
I hope you are right George however unlikely.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not being a naysayer but he’s at Dortmund now which is a big a club as Leeds if not bigger. It’s logic to suggest he would continue on an upward spiral not go sideways or downwards. He’ll have the pick of clubs when he leaves Dortmund and I won’t be getting married to my brother.

30 Nov 2020 18:24:42
Logical indeed Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I have my doubts about what he said. He lives in the deep south USA, there is every chance he will marry his brother...}

30 Nov 2020 18:49:34
GLad to hear your brothers operation was successful Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - in actuality it wasn’t successful so we’ve decided to adopt. I’m still marrying him tho because he’s the man of my dreams

01 Dec 2020 15:40:49
Ed0666 Leeds have been a big club since the 60s with some very low lean years but the future looks good and Leeds have potential to get bigger with the right backing and owners and be far bigger than Dortmund.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2020 18:02:58
GIW . My thoughts were similar, Dallas man marking and playing a KP type role when not in possession, allowing KP to get on the ball more when we won it back, sharing more of KP's work load. With Alioski playing wing back, but more defensive when we did not have possession and more attacking when we did.

It appears like the system has evolved a little.

How to write down or report the formation is a different matter and most likely why it could not be found in the media today.

29 Nov 2020 18:35:23
Good analysis 1970 . looks spot on.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2020 18:53:56
1970 Agree with that post although I think the journos' unwillingness to commit to describing our formation is due precisely to the evolving dynamic you outline. It's connected not coincidence in my opinion.
I think what has dawned on Bub is the quality of the PL. Bielsaball does work but Arteta said it best it's like going to the dentist which also means our system can be nullified but it takes everything the opponent has over the 90 to do it. With the modifications, Llorente to come into the reckoning and more transfer windows, we could be quite a serious team for next season. Given importance of taking chances and nothing against Paddy who's been great, I'd go virtually all out to land the Norwegian Leodiensian in the summer.

I am going to start not bothering about the result and just enjoy the football however frustrating it is. Yes, our conversion rate at the moment is only about 3%. Yes Cooper will be solid but make 3 or 4 serious mistakes. Yes Alioski and Klich will start making the occasional sloppy pass towards the end of the game and yes we will open up at the back a couple of times and have to rely on Meslier saving our bacon. But other than that we are by far the best team to watch in the division and its proper football. All the players put in a shift and can play even though the majority of them were lower league players. Not good for the blood pressure though.

agree it is great to watch although half of it I have to watch from behind the sofa

always interesting but will put every leeds fan in there box about five years earlier!

great to watch though and we have come a long long way, happy days.

I think Leeds are making a few people fall back in love with the game.
VAR is ruining it for many but we are leading the fight to keep it entertaining.
Always worried when we lose the ball in their half though that the break away will beat us but that's the price we play.

Over the next couple of years expect Harrison and Costa to play less and less with Raphina, Poveda more and more.
The only question I have is whether Rodrigo plays a 10 or replaces Bamford?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2020 11:15:03
bamford is going nowhere, Rodrigo is what we are missing in the middle of the park, Dallas keeps playing there and is not good enough.

I like Harrison but he must have dirt on belisa to get so much game time, last night he played well but was wasteful (should of scored two and could of had a hat-trick) povda and costa have been in great form and should be playing more.

over the next few years we got a lot more players who we can expect to play more

bogatuz, mccalmot, Stevens shows promise, Kenneth, Joe gulieheat, Edmondson (if belisa leaves Edmondson is not a belisa player) , Davis, gotts, cress well the future is very bright.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2020 11:58:20
Isn't Harrison one of the top creators in top flight football right now?
His work rate alone is enough to justify the game time.
Costa missed a sitter, probably the easiest chance of the night.
I like the options we have on the bench and agree there are a number of very promising youngsters waiting in the wings.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Nov 2020 12:30:50
Harrison missed three chances two of which were far easier than Costas (the header and shot that went wide were quite bad and had Bamford missed them everyone would be demanding Bamford have his legs cut off)

I like Harrison but his final descion is often lacking for me and his goal output not high enough for me (costa scored the same but played far less) .

Personally I think costa has been pure class and one of our best players both costa and Poveda offer more pace, penetration and intent than harrision who has more class but don't always show it. although I have to say all three are good players so we are in a good place to be arguing about who is better as all are good rather than moaning about three players who were not good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2020 13:29:50
Watch again Berm, Harrison did well to get his header close (of course should have done better) , his miss was poor for sure but didn't have the time that Costa did for his. That was an embarrasing miss in my book.
Either way glad we have both and the option to change them around if one is off form.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2020 13:35:49
Just checked out the numbers, Harrison 23 key passes (4th best in league) , Costa has 7. Not even close.
That's the reason he's the starter.
Now if only we could turn those passes into goals!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2020 14:34:06
Harrison has the first touch of an angel! He takes a 40 yd pass out of the air without breaking stride! Okay he needs to convert more of his goal chances but compared to Bamford he is ultra clinical! Costa to me is a little lazy, a little slow to react sometimes! He definitely should have scored yesterday!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2020 17:20:29
Harrison is only going to get better, so he’s going nowhere.
POV will play more, but I can see Rapha playing at 10 in time. What that means for Rodrigo, I dunno.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2020 09:00:17
GIW in a previous post you mention Bielsa has made a few tactical tweaks (to which I totally agree) and the team does appear to be playing slightly differently, can you define what these tweaks are.

My thoughts are that it revolves around Dallas and his role in the team

Any insight would be appreciated.

Does anyone know were Dallas played yesterday, was he in midfield or was he left back, was alioski left back, the switching of players his fantastic, keeps opposition guessing.

I know, both popped up at right back a couple of times. Amazing how they all seem to move around and know where they all are.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2020 15:20:37
1970 Please accept my interpretation as merely opinion. Hard to know the truth when I'm not there and neither is anyone else but yes it does seem to revolve around Dallasy. First off, as a general point, no paper or media outlet I've seen is stating what formation we played yesterday probably because it changed fairly often during the game.
As 🇨🇦 states, Dallas dropped back a couple of times. My view is Dallas is being used to man mark, nullify the playmaker in this instance James. Couple of times James got free but over the 90 minutes Dallas did a good job. Either due to his reading of the game or Bub touchline instructions he would also drop back at times to assist defensively. As for Alioski, I had him playing as a left wing back.
Overall I think we are playing a touch narrower and tighter in our own defensive third and Dallas seems to have been tasked with "agitating" the fluidity of opposition attacks. I can't help but think this is for 2 reasons. First to cope with Cooper's fragilities as a defender at this level. If we ever see Llorente, Cooper surely drops to the bench and we could be European berth material. Second, because Bub has worked out away from home and way we play we'll be a threat in transition anyway. We don't need to play super expansively all the time.
I prefer locking it up a bit at the back because less goals conceded and we're simultaneously creating more due in part to being more direct not overplaying it. That's my take fwiw but hard to tell for sure.

Total fluidity across the park yesterday. Tactical genius, but very difficult to play in. The players, to a man, showed ultimate professionalism. Awesome to watch!
