Looking at the results, they could have been much worse for us. Still keeping the faith at this end. Not overly relevant, but the Man U result was the icing on the cake.

Too right Tory! The results show how tough and unpredictable this league can be! Middlesbrough set an interesting benchmark against Hull, let’s see how we match up against that!

If you want a bet on Tuesday, try Leeds win, more than 2 goals scored and Alioski offside more than 5 times. Should get you some nice odds :)

Actually might not be very good odds at all!

get bigger odds Alioksi being on side that is 150-1 but then very unlikely to happen.

Someone on here recently mentioned Duncan McKenzie. He was / is my favourite all time player even though his time at Leeds was limited! He scored 27 in 66 games, not too shabby! I was about 14/ 15 at the time and loved his impish swagger. He had a touch of the Georgie Best/ Charlie George about him, when there were still characters in the game! He was also something of a maverick who used to enjoy his benson and hedges before and after the game! He once jumped over a mini as pre- match entertainment for Paul Reaneys testimonial! 😳apparently he could also throw a golf ball the length of a football pitch! For those a lot younger than me, check him out on YouTube! Super little player. Anyone old as me remember him?

Didn’t take long now as it stands we’re down to 3rd, hope this is not the sign of things to come.

29 Sep 2018 17:07:59
2nd place Whiteman and if that’s a sign of things to come, I think most of us would probably take it!

I can really understanding people moaning after we get beaten but against Sheffield we had 25 attempts on goal and put up a spirited performance in a tough away local derby!

If the players and management aren’t giving up why are you?

Our two main strikers aren’t playing, one of our most creative and skilful players isn’t playing. Come on fellas chins up and a bit of positivity!

Come on Spanish be realistic, I agree with whiteman, not long until we're playing non league football at this rate, right whiteman?

Back to the original poster, I agree, Dunc was brilliant, loved his party tricks, see if you can find any clips of Frank "stroller" Worthington as well, another top quality lad. Spent his money on booze, flags, loose women and wasted the rest :)

Guys I think this season is going to be very tight with lots of clubs in with a shout towards the end of the season. We are a bit light up front but as long as we stay up there then with players coming back from injury hopefully in the near future then it does look promising for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 19:57:37
4 king no not saying that, just think we a bit more steel, can’t keep slipping on games we should be winning, we need to make sure we get and stay in the top two, need to pick up are game, just as we did in the first game, we have dropped off for my liking.

Duncan was a great player but never produced on the pitch what he could and should have. Too busy playing to the crowd.

Team performance versus individual performances, playing together as a team allows you to know and cover for your team mates weaknesses, all players have weaknesses. This is where we have improved under Biesla alongside his tactics and coaching . Thought Roberts looked like he could be a real player and after a lengthy lay off with injury, he is still young, if he gets a few more games under his belt he could be a real handfull. Five players out injured, 3 of those first choice starters. Couple players last night have room for improvement. For the younger players its a leaning curve . Bielsa has only been here 3 months?

Very pleased with Roberts. He's on the verge of taking his game to the next level. I'd like to see him develop a partnership with Roofe which would mean Saiz dropping out of the starting lineup so isn't going to happen in a hurry.

Agree6 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 15:21:15
Yknow. I’m happy with Bielsa formation and tactics
I’m not one for what ifs though. Every team in the league has what ifs.
So what if we have injuries and I only see Roofe and Beradi as starters. Hernandez and Bamford are bit part players.
The fact remains that we created 24 and scored 1. I’d be happy with maybe 8 and 1.
The fact remains that we should have Mullered them and didn’t. They were lucky I admit that. But did we have no other option at all than the starting 11?
And for your info Canada I watched the game at 7am totally sober which is prob better than most of you. I 100% focused on the game, players and coaching.
Leaves a number of questions in my eyes.
Will the returning players make that much diff?
Is Forshaw really that much better than kp?
Why didn’t Bielsa use subs?

Pleased with Roberts. He's a striker that doesn't score goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 16:36:15
Wex Your views seem limited these days. Roberts still a teenager. Apart from Owen, Rooney and Walcott, can't remember any teenage striking sensations doing the business at top level. Yes, we could've forked out a 5m annual wage for Abel who probably would've scored a load by now but that's not Roberts' fault. He did score 2 a week ago and in my opinion is on the verge of coming good. Given his age, I'm expecting him to mature into a more accomplished player. Might not happen on Wex's urgent time but will happen on George's patient time. GO TY!

Agree6 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 17:02:15
Aus we all have our opinions of course and we can differ on KP's performance yesterday but how can you possibly say Hernandez is a bit part player?
Listen to Bielsa's opinion of him. You honestly think it's a coincidence we have stopped destroying teams since he went out injured?

Agree4 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 17:11:16
Here here Georgie! He is a 19 year old player, thrown in to a starting position and he’s scored two goals! Encourage our own players!

Agree5 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 17:21:29
Too right Canada, Hernandez is a match winner, even if he has a quiet 90 mins, he can still win a game for you in extra time. He is an intelligent, creative player who can unlock a defence with a look and a pass, just look at any of his assists . If you think he is a bit player, have a look at the goal he created against Derby, kept chasing a lost ball and found an inch perfect pass! If you have him on the bench or on the pitch, he’s a match changer! Also if he is on the pitch alongside Saiz, he takes a bit of pressure off Saiz and creates more space that allows Saiz to perform as well!

Never mind strikers who don’t score what about supporters who don’t support!

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 17:32:58
Spanish. ha ha ha. Love it. but you know that there will be guys on here saying that they ARE supporters even if they critise. In fact it is THEIR right to critise.

Unlike Ed001"s opinion of me, I don't mind any Leeds supporter critising my team. It's only supporters of other clubs I hate doing that. I just stand by my own stance of giving 100% support to anyone that has the lucky to wear a Leeds shirt.

Georgy boy we’ve had a few running’s mainly years back but you really are the captain of the team these days. Great post about Roberts and I’m amazed some well one can’t see his potential. I like you think his best position is behind the striker in the Saiz role so that’s another good option to have.
I realize ausman lives down under but my God his head is in the clouds! Aus how can you say Hernandez is a bit part player when he is our best player? And how is Beradi a definite starter when maybe when he’s fit again probably be on the bench?
We are going up this year I have little doubt. MOT.

Don’t worry about it axe. Ed1 can be a temperental git! I think it’s the years and years and years of not winning the league that does it. He gave others and me lots of rubbish over the years but I’m sure his Mum loves him😜
By the way Ed1 I’ve got a large bet on a Liverpool Leeds double so I literally am supporting you this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - so it was your coins weighing down the players today then???}

29 Sep 2018 21:25:40
Scouse humour never dies. I was engaged to a bird from Canny Farm years back and still see her and the family when I’m across the water. Good people you lot but very touchy when it comes to football. None more touchy than you Mr Ed001!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you would be surprised mate. There are some really touchy people around. Bill Cosby for instance. Donald Trump. Allegedly.}

29 Sep 2018 21:36:48
Wex, a bit harsh on Roberts, he has had 4 league starts as striker and scored 2 goals! That’s not a bad strike rate for his first few games at this level. Give him a chance, are you really writing him off already?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 22:45:53
Not writing him off just saying he needs to justify his price tag.

29 Sep 2018 23:13:01
Thanks Corky. I'm very pleased by the progress and one of the pleasant things I've noticed which I think has contributed to our upward form is the disappearance into the background of Kinnear and Orta.

30 Sep 2018 08:03:06
He didn’t choose how much Leeds paid for him Wex, he’s done well all things considered. If you’ve watched the games and seen him play then you’d realise how unfair your comments are. How would you like him to justify his price tag exactly? Pay it back himself? He can only do what is asked of him by the manager and he’s been thrown into the deep end because of injuries to Bamford and Roofe.

30 Sep 2018 11:52:19
What do you mean he didn't choose what we paid. I'm sure his agent had an input in his valuation.

29 Sep 2018 12:00:32
Aus there's something wrong with your tv feed there. KP was brutal in the first half.
2nd half with a different formation he was better.
Forshaw will replace him soon.

29 Sep 2018 13:02:37
Get off his back, bielsa rates him and he knows footballers better than any of us.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 13:18:40
KP will come good but in reality Bielsa hasn't had too much choice. Not sure who apart from forshaw could be better.
All young players are inconsistent and playing that role the mistakes are amplified for sure.
Still I think it's time to rest him and see if forshaw is better in that role.

Positives from last night
Some great performances, Klich, Roberts, Douglas
Came back from goal down, away from home
Created so many chances
Superb fitness/ stamina, right to the end.
Didn't need subs!
Belief, they have all bought in to Bielsas way of playing!
Still top of the league!
Close to quarter of season gone, still going strong and players to come back!

Negatives (not many)
Need to convert the chances, obviously!
Just one last night and we would have been happy as Larry today!
Maybe Saiz could put an arm around the younger players instead of falling to his knees in frustration when move breaks down! Need Pablos calming influence!
Maybe we need to enjoy the ride and not look for someone to blame after each match!
Let's trust the manager, he's not done bad so far! MOT.

29 Sep 2018 12:01:53
Would it not be better to Make use of the subs? I mean they are there for a reason. Think Roberts, Alioski and Saiz could have been given a break. We were never going to lose it.

29 Sep 2018 07:02:41
It was 2 points wasted in my eyes. Second time we should have won but didn't.
Wednesday very average.
It was a good performance and we played them off the park for whole game.
Over all the reason we are not still winning is because we build well but final ball is poor and also finishing. 24 shots and 1 goal says it all.
Overall I am disappointed! Good effort but not good enough for me.
Still don't think the team is technically gifted enough to play to Bielsas plan. They work hard enough but lack the quality I key places. And although I like Phillips he is not good enough to dictate the play from the back and apart from Roofe, none of the strikers are good enough!

29 Sep 2018 08:08:52
Final ball poor but manage 24 shots? Another Ausman worldy.

Ausman No I'm not happy about that particular statistic. Why think that?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 12:03:17
24 shots but not 24 on target.
Their keeper was poor if we had 24 on target we would have scored 4.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 12:06:37
Our two main strikers are injured so I think it’s unfair to criticise a lack of finishing ability. Combine that with the fact that Pablo/ Brown are also out. so to dominate like we did is a very pleasing thing IMO. Last season we would have lost that/ would have been fortunate to get a draw - this season, we’re disappointed not to have won. I’d say to have a bit of perspective when we are a few players down.
Yes our finishing could be better but you’d be complaining if we’d have had one shot and one goal. To have 24 away from home is exceptional we just lacked that finishing touch. That said, their goal was a stroke of genius/ fluke and on another day we’d have won that 1-0 with everyone a happy bunny.
Try to be a bit more positive Aus.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 12:45:41
Sorry Matt but it is fair to criticise the lack of finishing ability because we should have scored more than one against Wednesday and this was due to the lack of finishing ability. We dominated the game and created plenty of chances. I would not have said this last season but I cannot wait for Roofe to return as he has learnt to sniff around the six yard box and put away the chances we have created. Unfortunately, despite Roberts effort he is not getting into the same positions (against Wednesday and Birmingham)

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 13:36:55
Ausman It's your contribution which is lacking, not mine. My point was only regarding your final ball remark. How can the final ball be poor if we create many chances and shots? You don't understand the game or the clever tactics Bielsa is using.
