I don't know if it's just me but where is all this hype about CMS coming from,he was less than average last season and certainly not a player I would regard as prolific.
There are much better strikers out there that would cost us alot less than £2.5 million or a swap with Mcormack.
Beckford and bechio with mcormack floating around white on the wing Austin ancentre rogers right peltier right back drury left Pearce and lees centre backs job done MOT

I'm not to sure about white on the wing I don't think he's good enough.

I think the reason the takeover hasn't been announced is because like Roberto Mancini said, when city go in for a player the price goes up by 40% because they know they've got the money so if we are getting the money it will be under wraps until warnocks targets are signed!

He;ll be useing the main chunk of money to get the iceing on the cake, as strikers and good attacking players don't come cheap.

i would prefer dj campbell to cms,but if we were to get boyd,then would make sense to get cms,given their knowledge of each other's style.

Are we going to be called "Petersmouth" or "Portborough" this year, judging by the number of their forer players we are going to have.

Where, if at all, do people see Danny Pugh "Pugh, Barney Mugrew' fitting in this year. Squad man probably. Fit in at LB, LM or CM when necessary. Wasn't really worth the half a mill was he?

I see him playing LAH(left at home). He would slot right in that position. I'll send a tele guide.

Just a thought about beckford didn't we once idolise Ian Baird once and he didn't light up elland rd on his return did he give me mcail smith n McCormack upfront any day with becchio n poleon on the bench as options would love Boyd to sign as well but does our budget stretch that far it remains to be seen MOT TO THE PROMISED LAND AND BEYOND

It really hits home how far we've fallen from grace when we have the second top goalscorer in the Championship and we get offered in the region of £750k (regardless of contract length left) for his services from a poor Crystal Palace side and we're allegedly bidding in the region of £2 million for a player (CM Smith) who got half the amount of Championship goals Ross got.

For the life of me I'm lost firstly Warnock said he was looking to offload Ross, then it changed to he would only offload in exchange for a player and now he says it's vital we keep Ross which I think we definitely should keep him.

I really don't like the way Warnock back tracks about statements the whole time is very annoying. He tries to look good with all these big statements but never follows any through.

By the way I don't like Warnock as a manager but before people start raving about get behind the team and manager it doesn't matter to me who is at the helm or who takes to the field it's the CLUB I support always have and always will and will continue to voice my honest opinion no matter what and never sugar coat over things.

He understands that Ross is a good player and can fill a void left by him. He wanted to build his team around Snoddy and therefore could have used some money from Ross, which wouldn't be as much as Snoddy and strengthen other areas. Now he can do that with more money and keep Ross. I am looking forward to a week Sat and hope you all join me and my son in welcoming the new team onto the pitch for the new season}

I think all the fans forum posters should meet up at the peacock for a few pre-match beers and maybe a chat..!

Hey Ed is actually quite refreshing that the majority of you Ed's are actually open minded about other peoples opinions and not just shoot down people because they're don't share the feelings of others.

Sadly Ed I won't get to the Wolves game I live in Ireland and can usually only get to about 7 or 8 games over the course of a season but I'll be watching it on the box.

This wont go down well but I hope Ross is part of the cmsmith deal. Then buy Boyd and beckford. Those 3 would score few between them. {Ed013's Note - Imagine Ross and CMS playing just behind Becchio. Goals Goals Goals in my eye's}

You are moaning about getting players that scores 9/10 goals a season, then list Hulse, Baldock etc... Did they even get 10 goals between them?

What job did Maynard do at City, that's right he kept the medical team busy as he was always injured. Wouldn't want him would rather have CMS or Jermaine.

cm smith looks to be closing in on a deal with leeds. him and ross would be great together up front, this will bo0st rosses chance of playing for scotland as the 2 will develop chemistry. playing internationally will develop ross further more and when he most likley signs his new contract leeds will have one of the best strike forces in championship.

In my opinion Mackail-Smith would be a better signing than Beckford. I hope we do get him and keep McCormack.

Beckford is lazy and a complete ego maniac not the type of player Leeds need when we have made the amount of new signings we have. we need a team that is able to gel together quick. Not someone who thinks he is above the rest of the players.

Oh how my heart sings when I see good honest postings like this one. Great observations, Beckford is and always will be lazy and egotistical, he needs a lot of managing. Why pay Beckford daft money to come back, let him go elsewhere. Larry might take him when they sell Rhodesy. We simply can't go back. We got to keep MOT!!

Beckford is very lazy as in he doesn't chase every ball to get it off the opposition but this is why hes usually in the right positions to get onto through balls .

Tbh i don't see the big deal about makail smith.....he scored 10 goals last year .......9 less than Ross and he Is supposably work more Than him .....I mean how is he worth 2 million or more....I just don't get that at all!?!?!??

Beckford will not come.. 40k wages down to the 15k we would offer? dont think so.
we havent got millions to spend, weve only received 1.5 mil from snoddy sale and the rest comes at the end of the season.

it makes me laugh with all you who think beckford will come back.. yeah probably if we had the wages to give him that he wants. we dont.

Also, have Leeds ever sid it was a takeover? No.
And i wont believe its a takeover until Leeds United offical site say so!!

I think he will come back. In January. Once his transfer value and wage demands diminish further and he annoys Pearson even more. Do Leicester play at ER before February? Will be so interesting.

My worst fears are coming true, SSN reports Mackail-Smith could be on his way to Leeds, I do hope its not a swap for McCormack, I think that would be disastrous, based on the comparison of goals per games ratio. Yeah he will work harder than McCormack but what's the point if we don't have an out and out goalscorer in the team?

The only thinking behind it is NW believes Becchio and Somma will be the goalscorers, Somma I feel is a goalscorer but struggles with injuries, Becchio is a rich mans Mackail-Smith, don't really see the point!

Hope I am proved wrong :)

Money is coming from somewhere to have brought in 8 or more players and now sky sports say we are in for Mackail Smith. Do you think Ken Bates would have really dished out any money? I think Ken is gone and the takeover is almost completed, maybe the confidentiality agreement is in force until all Neil Warnock's targets are brought in, maybe to stop other clubs demanding more money?

We got 3m for snoddy. 1.5m up front, the rest add ons.

Hi ED, can you shed some light on this for me. On my way to work this morning on the train I overheard 2 guys talking about football and one of them said he'd heard on the radio this morning that Leeds have shown interest in Alejandro Faurlín of QPR. It's the 1st I've heard of it. Just wondered if anyone else has heard anything about this? Also wasn't he injured for almost all of season if I remember correctly? {Ed013's Note - Not heard that mate}

Billy Paynter has been sent back to us early. haha. What a shocker. Funny thing was some people here were saying he will cost 500k. I think we will really struggle to get rid of him

...hopefully we can get him off the wage bill though, and soon!

Didn't think it would be long before he was found out to be a nomark. I would rip up his contract and put it down to bad buisness. We have no problems looseing good players for nothing.

new season starts in just over 2 weeks,still no news on the takeover,beyond a joke now

Good news is ALWAYS worth waiting for, and anything has to be better than last season....

The takeover will happen but right now i'm more bothered about the team taking shape. I for one think things are looking 100% better then, this time last year. You can see from a mile away, with a little iceing we'll go all the way.

After a number of years as a football fan I can say I usually know which rumours have some substance about them. With this and the subtle hints that warnock given I think I can identify who will be signing. I think we all know peltier is coming, just taking a bit of time for one reason or another. I think we will be signing Boyd also. I know warnocks an admirer of Craig Mackail smith as well. However being honest I haven't seen him play much. I know warnock knows we need pace up front, so if Mackail has pace it could well be him signing up top. If he isn't the quickest, I would of thought he would of just been the replacement for McCormack if he leaves. I personally think McCormack will stay.

So in short

Peltier, Boyd , and cm smith if he's quick, if not I don't know who warnocks got lined up. Could be dj Campbell

I expect peltier and Boyd to sign, the third I'm unsure of.

I would like these at the very least, any better will be a nice suprise

Length of service given to LUFC is merely an indicator of the amount of suffering you have had in your life, it doesn't make you psychic! Pistols 50.

I know these things take time but they said "the takeover will be completed shortly" like 1 week after due diligence was announced. Im a patient person but I hate it when people say " it's going to be completed shortly or 'tuesday' for example just wait and see...

Well I think it will happen sometime between now and then, personally.....
