Yes great news indeed Harrogate is a lovely spot. But in a way sad for Notts county the original club. How some mighty clubs can really fall makes me think that the last sixteen weren’t too bad after all!

Wonder if We would consider an approach Ryan Fraser on a free transfer?
I think for me with our squad and young players coming through I genuinely think we do need a CB, unless he feels cooper and Strujk will be good enough? And a striker as Roberts and bamford probably won't cut it in the prem. I feel we maybe are a little short on centre mid as if Phillips gets injured or suspended we didn't seem to have a replacement there.

Why would the club do that when they can generate revenue from it?

If as stated below and the recruitment budget is £45m.
A couple of decent loans at £2.5m each (loan fees not wages)
a couple of players from the continent at £5m each and a couple of players in the £7.5 to £10m. that's £30 to £35m spent and hopefully it would give us enough new quality to bring up to a level where we are not struggling.

Not too far off the mark there '70.

You can barely get Championship quality for thatler alone Prem. Our strategy is to buy players with experience of the English leagues so we will be doing limited buying abroad.

Ten million for Rose bit much, is there not better a out there somewhere for less.

Yes

Dallas
Alioski
and
Douglas
even
Davis

They have all had 2 years of learning the Bielsa way of playing. They have all brought their fitness levels to the required standard.
They have all had 2 years to learn, understand and demonstrate the Bielsa playbook

I have no doubt Rose can get to the levels required but can he become someone who is £10m better than what we already have, I am not sure. He is of an age that he won't improve too much more. Personally I would like to see Davis given more run outs and invest the £10m in the centre forward area were the extra money does mean an increase in the standard of the striker.

If we sign Rose aren't we entitled to a percentage of the transfer fee. Sure we had a sell on clause when we sold him .

02 Aug 2020 13:06:57
i am pretty sure we get a decent chunk of the % of profit form the sale

i can see what you are saying axe but i think yu are over stating it a bit. every player on the plaent who hasn't played belisa ball will have to learn it but if the leeds sqaud did in a couple of weeks (look how good we was in belisa first few games) i am sure an england international who has played in champs league and prem under poch (who is a belisa desciple) can pick it up.

Belisa has him on his list of players he wants can’t see why, May be the report’s are wrong, but there will be not fee to pay only his wage which will be 10 million over 3 years as they are trying to off load players.

To be honest good player he is he has always got on my tits!
Spent years waiting for him to get a big move so our club could pay the bills and now we are back in top league he gets mentioned as a great new signing.
And another point he seems like he a tit himself going by interviews etc.

Silver spoon Lampard, given a top premier league managerial position with little to no experience. Think Abramovich took a big gamble with that decision, ok they’ve got CL football next season, and he will have the green light to spend big. Problem is they may have team of very misfit star players no trophies and no CL at the end of the season. He’ll be just another casualty on the long list of short term managers at Chelsea and he’ll end up collecting a dead end job at a middle to lower end Championship club, where he belongs. Earn your way up the ladder Frank.
Loser.

Lampard got the job because of the transfer ban, no CL footie next season he will be gone.

To be fair Chelsea have bought some good players already and are linked with some even better players.
Unfortunately cash is king.

As Rads is now saying only minimal expenditure and recruitment of new players is our policy for this transfer window.
I'm sure he previously stated that upon promotion and on receipt of revenue at premier league income levels there would be plenty of money spent.
He is also quoted as saying the 49'rs investments now worth 3.5 times the original £10m they paid for a 10% stake. This would equate to a total value for the club in Rads eyes as £350m.
My thought is Rads should open the purse strings and spend money to help ensure we are not in a relegation battle, as a return to the championship would quickly wipe £250m off the value of the club and his investment.

Just because the valuation is £250m higher doesn’t mean that there is the cash on hand to spend, it needs to be made liquid. That’s why there are discussions with the 49ers to put in more money (Radz still wants control but there’s still up to 40% to allow somebody to invest which could give £100m+) but that will take time.

The alternative is spend heavily with money we don’t have, chasing Champions League football, potentially miss out, be unable to meet repayments and sink to League One.

From Radz comments I’ve seen, he’s not an idiot, he knows he needs to invest to ensure we secure Premier League status, and will do this (with the TV money etc) , but it takes time to have the full amount of cash he’ll spend. I think making comments about us doing minimal expenditure is also valuable in transfer fee discussions, so we’re less likely to be taken for a ride.

I trust that they will invest and will invest wisely with the clubs long term future at the heart of the decisions.

I’ve read a report saying we have 45 million to spend . I think we could get 2/ 3 players in key positions for that .

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2020 11:34:14
Unless we acquire a few very very good new loan signings, I fear £45m isn’t enough to keep us in the Premier League.
I believe we need 2 centre halves, left back, creative midfielder, speed merchant for the right and 2 forwards, and possibly a keeper, so £45m won’t go far!

Next years available money is also less known than normal.
Nobody has a clue about if/ when supporters will be allowed in reducing potential income by tens of millions.

I hope Radz spends wisely again this year too.

Loans for White, Costa, Meslier and Nekeitha were wise ideas. We got to see if they were worth training up as we did with Harrison the previous season. Even Augustine's loan was beneficial as we saw that he wasn't up to the Bielsa standard.
It's true, that post-virus, that Costa's fee looks a little on the large side, but if Radz had that sort of foresight he would have also placed a bet on us becoming champions and used his winning to finance a PL team.
It's also true that we should have had a loan-to-buy on White but if BHA didn't want to sell then we did well to get his services for our promotion season.
It's a pity Nekeitha was recalled at Christmas as he was just starting to play the way Bielsa needs. He showed for the Arsenal side that he had improved to PL standard. How about a loan-to-buy for him this season? Or maybe Brewster of liverpool now Swansea are Championship again.
I definitely would like to try and get White back on a loan-to-buy for this season, given that BHA have 4 recognised PL centre backs already their. They can watch to see if White can hack PL without worrying about his performance in their team.

All things, in moderation.
Whilst Cavani is a pipe dream and non starter there are many young and hungry players out there just waiting for their break. After all our Prem heroes all started out in the lower leagues and just waited to be spotted by a scout who can spot potential.
Any "big" money we spend should go to proven Championship performers who are ready to take a small step to the prem. The likes of Benrhaamaa. Watkins, Osayi-Samuel, Mitrovic, - there are many more. Maybe defeatest but our target next year must be at least a comfortable mid table finish.

We had to buy Costa as part of the agreement for the fee we paid. We tried to get White as a LTB but his club wouldn't have any of it.
