Any thoughts on who we going to play in defense tmrw? I can't think of any fit CB? And even if we stick berardi there who will play RB? May have to delve in to the u23

New signing Tyler Roberts to miss the match tomorrow due to injury. Why we buying injured Players?

You took the words right out of my mouth Mezzer mate! I really don’t understand it, £7M worth of talent and before they have played they are sidelined! On another note can someone please tell me why we bought a striker that TC says will play on the wing! What is going on TC, give us a bloody clue!

Just a slight niggle so shouldn’t be out too long

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Feb 2018 22:26:46
Mike can only think by playing Roberts as a winger is to accommodate Lasogga as a target man, don't think Lasogga can play as a front 2 with another striker. And it looks like as we keeping him for remainder of the season we trying to get the best out of him.

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Feb 2018 23:17:38
Is it a niggle? . he said the same about de bock and Forshaw, they both missed one game and then started the next, or is it a smoke screen as he wants new players to have more time to bed in/weeks training?

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Feb 2018 08:04:08
I would say that Lassoga would be better with a striking partner who will do the running for him. Unfortunately TC will not change his 4-2-3-1 formation therefore the wing it is for Roberts

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2018 10:48:59
IF you think the player is a good player and will fit you are buying him for the season and the next. Not just for one game. Looks like TC is persevering with Lassoga for the season, give him a run, he may come good, however next year I can see Lassoga returning and Roberts claiming the striking role.

Ian Harte now ranting on twotter having been to see the U23's today, and not hearing a word of English spoken from the Leeds team, or coaching staff. Says we have lost our identity, and betrayed everything the club has stood for over the years. I'm beginning to agree. I'm all for bringing in talented youngsters, but not if its to the detriment of home grown lads.

Roll on Brexit!

Agree3 Disagree1

02 Feb 2018 19:16:31
Some people are saying his comments are racist, but having read them I think that he feels that the scale and pace of the change in the balance of local and overseas players is damaging the passion and loyalty that always went with wearing a Leeds shirt. TBF, i would support the view tgat our first team do not play with the commitment to the club that Harte and his cohort did. It does feel to have shifted slightly in the direction of just buying masses of players and trying to make them play as a team, with less focus on who the team is ie Leeds!

Agree4 Disagree1

02 Feb 2018 19:24:07
Brexit is probably entirely why we are overkilling the acquiring of foreign younglings now since those opportunities will supposedly diminish in 18 months. I'm sure in 2020 we will return to sourcing local talent in a bigger way. Radz still doing well and a substantial improvement on manager eater.

02 Feb 2018 20:00:25
Brightwhite, we must stop this I agree with you post mate

Agree1 Disagree2

02 Feb 2018 20:10:36
We have foreign ownership what do you expect the set up is all foreign, so they are bringing in foreign players which are half the cost, it may work but can’t see that, MC tried it and it didn’t work, changed his mind so he could sell the club, can’t see Radz doing that just yet.

Agree0 Disagree2

02 Feb 2018 20:54:43
All Harte said was that they were speaking spanish, players and coaching staff. Hardly racist! Yes we are losing our identity, if players from whatever country come to play for Leeds then every one should speak english, regardless of them playing in a development squad. Hopefully if they make the step up to the Ist team they will communicate in English, unless the future coach and players are all to be spanish.

Agree1 Disagree2

02 Feb 2018 21:24:04
Unfortunately the people with the money to run Football Clubs especially in the top two divisions are foreign and with that come foreign coaches and with that you get foreign players and with that you get mediocre mid table Leeds United year after year.

Good post Bige, when you look at the Wilko team that got promoted, how many of the current team have the potential to get into that team when they were playing in the old 2nd division. Very few maybe Saiz and Pontus on the bench . That really is the gap between where we are and what we need . A new manager may push the current squad for 6 or 8 games and get some more out of them, but all the players would be worn out then. They are pretty worn out now. Being worn out is why we fell away so badly last season and could fall away again this season. I can remember that Wilko teams well and you always knew they could dig in and get a result even when they were behind. We still need a stronger backbone to the team, some more on the wings and a goal scorer.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

02 Feb 2018 18:20:01
The blind leading the worn out. Half a season and the hacks are tired out? TC OUT!

Agree2 Disagree4

02 Feb 2018 19:00:47
Very true PA, Wilko signed Chapman in January of our promotion season a proven goal scorer and he produced. A midfield of Strachan, Jones and Kamara along with a young Batty and Speed were never going to die wondering. Proven experience along with the naivety of youth a winning combination. Sterland, Fairclough, Strachan, Batty, Speed and Chapman all there at Bournemouth and all there when we lifted the old first division title, sorry but I don’t see that happening with our current best XI.

to be fair that comparision is harsh, that team practilly won the league two years later i prefer to look at teams around us and i don't think they have better 1st 11 or squad other than wolves we are as good as anyone certainly not 9 betters teams than us

Agree2 Disagree3

02 Feb 2018 20:08:26
Bermo, the table tells us where we are, sorry to say. What I was trying to show is by comparison to the quality needed for us to get out of this league last time, the current team is way way short. Not many of our current squad would have got a game in Wilkos team

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Feb 2018 21:01:59
Not many PA, I would say if any! Pontus and that’s it for me!

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2018 07:53:27
no I agree PA and can see your point, but that wilko team was a very special team, outside of revie team I can't think of many players who would of made that team, maybe viduka, bowyer (maybe) and rio outside of that not many get into what was a really great side

02 Feb 2018 17:46:58
WOW. Amazing statistic on the BBC sport site. Leeds have lost 11 of the 12 games they have fallen behind in this season in the Championship (92%) ; the worst such percentage in the competition. What does that say? If they don't get the first goal they have a crushing 92% chance of LOSING! The best odds going! No fight, no committment, no heart, no management clue what to do.

Believable7 Unbelievable4

02 Feb 2018 18:35:28
You can't deny statistics. These are not Trump's alternative facts. Football is not just about kicking a ball! You don't buy a player by his hair style. you should go on facts, goals, completed passes, proven history. football is a science now, not a drunken hope-filled illiterate lout's game!

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Feb 2018 19:46:45
Wilko ( bless him) looked at it the other way He was big on stats before its time Team that scores first has a higher chance of winning You may remember a clip of one Vincent jones in the tunnel screaming " first ten minutes" Plan was to fly at teams and get the game won early. Especially in the cauldron that was ER that would usually prove successful. If it didn't, we'd run out of steam. Football is still basically the same game. Nothing complicated. Team that works the hardest and passes the best usually wins. It's also a game played largely on the head. That 90s team was full of leaders, full of belief. We need a few to step up Every generation needs a David batty

Sir Vincent of Jones doesn't really get enough credit for the impact he had on that side!

02 Feb 2018 13:26:10
Well its nice to see a lot on here are still upbeat and hoping we still have a chance of playoffs. I usually look on the bright side but do not hold out muc hope for this season. Recent signings are an improvement but do not see them dramatically changing the dynamics of the team. Roberts has a lot to prove yet, Forshaw is a top player at this level and De Bock looks decent and the fact he is a left back is an improvement. However when TC comes out with comments like Roberts best position is a striker but i can use him anywhere it sort of puts things into perspective. Orta TC, and Corboran are not good enough. TC could improve as it is his first season but the other two need to go. I can guarantee that Stokes will not be the last to leave the academy the way it is being run. When we have been short in areas why have Pearce and Sarkic or Wilks not been involved. Why buy an unproven 19 year old striker when we have plenty of them. Why are Coyle, Wilks, Farrel going out on loan. We play a left sided player on the right, a right sided player on the left, a striker as a winger. Think we should be going back to the old ways of having a plan to counteract who we are playing and put a team out accordingly. We will be lucky to get to top six now as other teams have strentghened and on a roll. Sure if we win our next five it all changes but can anyone see that happening and time will soon run out. We are oly 4 points adrift but that can soon become 7 then 10. IMO needed a proven goalscorer at this level and we did not get it. Heres to the future.

02 Feb 2018 14:33:29
Tc out and 90% playoffs. Talk the talk. Walk the talk. Tc is useless. that's a fact. Check his stats. Listen to him talk. Look at his subs. i'd go to far as to say. Someone else is paying him more. Utter crap.

Agree7 Disagree8

02 Feb 2018 14:52:35
Square pegs in round holes again. TC will not play Roberts as a striker but thinks he can do a job as a winger. If you wanted a winger TC then ask Orta to get a winger. Academic anyway, Roberts is "injured" and is not available for selection tomorrow

only really good thing that gives me hope, all these young players we buy, the fans from the clubs that have sold are sad to see them go, this is a real positive for me. have no faith in TC but lots in the sqaud and real hope for the plans for the furtue and transfer with an eye to the future for leeds. the future is birght the future is orange. ok it is bright white

Excelent news just in. I've been waiting for years to hear this! We are forming a relationship with a swedish 2nd division team. I've seen the details of the relationship. We buy u23 yr old players for them and they play them in their team. can't argue with that. Orta can now buy another 15 players for the future. The future seems so exciting. Our first team. Formerly known as leeds utd will prob benefit but prob not. The main thing is that we have this smashing relationship with a swedish 2nd division team. There is no way i'm going to be able to sleep tonight.
