Orta's business in the transfer market so far has been abysmal. Let's have a recap so far. Hit or miss. Borthwick Jackson- enough said. Miss Aloski- more bad than good - miss Klich- miss Lasogga- miss for the cost to the club wages wise. Wiedwald- miss Cibicki- miss Pennington- hit Saiz- big hit. 2 out of 8 signings have worked. Not hopeful for January on those results.

I think wiedwald is coming good is that just me? Cibicki looks better than alioski aswell much better end product, no denying alioski's work rate tho. Lassogga's just fat and greedy needs to go this month if we sign a striker

Not sure we can call Pennington a hit yet, we have barely seen him, agree with the rest though.

Agree about pennington not proven. Agree about cblicki end product. Agree re aluoski work rate. Agree 100% re lassoga. Not sure wield should be first choice but is showing pigeon steps towards improvement.

Saiz, alioski, cibicki, wiedwald are all good players, pennington i'm not sure what youve seen other than the fact that he can play a ball into a holding midfielder, but isn't that what cooper and jansson do too, an dthat can actually stick a challenge in and head the ball? give up on negativity its boring

03 Jan 2018 13:27:20
think original post is bit harsh, wiedwald is decent enough made some mistakes but also big saves think he only cost 500k so not bad deal saiz massive hit and will be sold for around 15 million so make up for any lost money. he is best player in league bu some distance alioski has been very good in games i have seen, he can fall out of games but scored a lot, can beat a man and causes havock and works hard (although not seen all games and enough on here say he is poor so i have maybe seen him at best) I don't rate lassoga at all but think his scoring rate for us has not been that bad? so he has won us points which if we make playoffs make him worth while so far i think orta has done ok to good but now is time to push for playoffs if we don't make them i will be massivley dissapointed

A lot of Orta players have the potential to be good and have had good games their main deficiency is consistency. TC and his team somehow need to get his first eleven playing to their full potential every game.

Would a change in formation be something TC might consider? I would like to see us go 433 with EO, RV and KP in midfield with Saiz given a free role and not to worry about defending. Up top Roofe as a second striker to a fit Ekuban or Lassoga who despite not being a patch on Wood does create space and can finish. It would give the defence a bit of protection with a 3 man midfield and allow our most dangerous threat Saiz to play his more natural game. Pablo coming off the bench to would be a great asset. Just a thought MOT

Def wex. Far to fat. Even the commentator said how out of breath he was. Bit of an embarrasement in a leeds shirt.

surely if he has been out for so long with whatever secret illness or injury he had he will have lost match fitness? so why throw him back in - he should be eased back into it to regain (or to get) some fitness first.

A poor result against a poor side. That sums up the two games - Birmingham and Nottingham Forest. We do need a finisher who can do the other more mundane things like hold the ball up, win balls in the air etc. However that on its own is not going to solve the problem. We don't create much and that comes from dominating midfield and having wingers that can do a wingers job - get past defenders and put in decent crosses. Saiz does create chances but other than him we are lacking. Alioski is light weight and inconsistent, Hernandez comes up with gems but can go missing, Phillips simply isn't good enough yet, O'Kane is steady. Roofe is still making the transition but he seems to be neither one thing nor the other. He is not an out and out striker/finisher and he is not an out and out winger- he falls between the two. Losagga isn't quick and he is not good in the air but he will finish. Unfortunately he is not the player for Leeds. In a better team that can create chances for him without him having to do much more he will score on a regular basis. He is the only player we have with an eye for goal though it is pity he cannot do the other things we need at the moment. I don't think we have a promotion winning team at the moment. The defence is fine even without a proper left back (it could be better with one though) , Midfield is the worry with the wings also a concern. We have the numbers but not the quality. Vierra is very good but normally passing is a let down, Phillips is ok but nothing special at this level- a squad player. O'Kane is a good squad player but is inconsistent and does not dominate proceedings, Hernandez produces class from time to time but can be anonymous. I like Saiz as a player and he is a cut above the others but as the fan in the next seat to me keeps pointing out 'He's great with the ball but does absolutely nothing when he hasn't'. Alioski has had some good games but he has slipped back again recently. (He can't beat the defender and/or stay on his feet) . I have a feeling unless something changes we will be 7th - 10th this season. Then we may lose our best.

Agree with a lot of that Hess, we def need a centre midfielder who will run behind the opposition centre backs and chip in with a few goals to play at the side of viera, been saying all season we need an out and out winger. my biggest gripe is the tempo to our play, especially at home, I can understand us slowing the game down from the start away from home and trying to get a foot hold in the game, but we make it so easy for the opposition to settle at elland rd, we never come out all guns blazing right from the off and try get a couple of early goals, also, one up top all the time at home makes things too predictable for the opposition. good post though Hess

Been saying one up top all season is a formation to play away from home. And we should shock teams and fans alike with a different one at home. I’d go 4-4-2. Can’t stand that man lassoga. He’s absolutely shite. How TC thinks he will change a game bringing him on a half time bemuses me. Can see a lot off changes against Newport. Hopefully to see if anyone is handy and be able to step
Into so many others boots to start next league game. Tend to agree with a lot off the signings havnt good. Samu the only one to really shine. Please sign or try to sign at least 3/4 genuine championship/ premier class players. Not league one or less. As that’s what we have signed so far.

You say to put 2 up top, but who have we got? You don't think roofe is an out and out, you all hate lassoga, ekuban is injured, shall we pretend we have 2 chris woods and just score for fun? he's had to work with what he's got and IMO 6th with a new manager at this stage of the season is excellent. 11 new signings, a new owner, new manager, new backroom staff, new youth, and to still be in the top 6 is great. we've lost and won games pretty evenly on the whole, losses into draws and draws into wins is next for TC to overcome. we have now played every team, so i'd expect better results, he's a tactician and has never faced this league, teams like milwall, reading, and wednesday are all teams that we should have beaten and i think we will this time round.

1 from 6 playing teams below us will not get us up. Think yesterday showed why Alioski is wasted out right. The amount of times he cut back inside to get it on his left foot instead of going past Traore and hitting it with his right pretty much summed it up. It shows the lack of depth in the squad at the moment that we can't change the formation or rest players. Def need at a striker and left back this month but if Klich and co are not good enough yet we need 3 or 4 who are

He's equally as bad on the left, he's a winger who doesn't go past people, so may of our attacks break down when the ball goes to him, he's a poor player in my opinion, a winger that Beats a man once every 4 games and his final ball is really poor 90% of the time

I'm coming up with two mates to see Leeds v Millwall and couple of questions as I want my mates to have a proper Leeds match day experience so they can see what it is like to support a proper club, any advice is gratefully received and anyone about either Friday or Sat before or after game let me know as always good to meet up for a drink or ten.

1. Best place to sit? It will either be north or south but online it seems people say both are best depending on where they sit?

2. Will it sell out before going on general sale?

3. good places to go for drink on Friday night and before and after game on sat? really want to go to proper Leeds pubs and be surrounded by Leeds fans as don't get a chance to do it often but don't want to go anywhere where we will get our heads kicked in as our accents (mine especially) make it pretty obvious we are from Millwall MOT.

1 South Stand if you can get in, if not North is also awesome. 2 probably not but get tickets as soon as they are on general sale or you will struggle
3 try the pub that used to be the waggon and horses up the road next to the motorway footbridge and The Partrigde opposite the ground. Not really any Leeds pubs left in town for the night before.

Go to the Dragon Inn mate it's a Leeds pub. If you're outside the East Stand go south through the tunnel and keep going, you'll get to a ginnel at the end of the road. Walk to the end of the ginnel and Dragon is on your left. Or just Google it. 10 min walk from elland road. You won't get trouble either

United bar, formley Waggon and Horses is closed down. White Hart in Beeston is a 10 min from King Billys statue for good Leeds pub. I'm also going to Millwall game, only managed to get in the Kop once this season, so go in north east corner lower. Good luck with tickets Bermo. MOT

Im back. In hospital new years day and night cause of snake bite. But i'm ok👍 Saw the game this morning. Diff one to judge. Forest gave it a go but were rubbish. Wield looked better to me. Couple decent stops although could have caught a couple he blocked. Hope ayling out too long. Really think our defense is ok. Good tackle cooper. As said below. Think viera got to start. Phillips and kane not doing it for me. Another get stuck in midfielder general needed. Alioski was poor and needs resting. Hern had a bad day! Saiz was brilliant. Roofe does get bullied off the ball a lot and tries to take too many touches. Lassonga isn't really good enough or fit enough so why bring him on at half time is strange. Sacko should have come on. So. We do need to strengthen in jan. We all know that. Oleary in the stands i saw. Is radz got plan b waiting. Think the football tc tries to play is too pretty and lightweight for this league. don't think he will learn now. Think he has done his best and proved wanting.

Jeez aus, how much snakebite did you drink? 😜 We needed to move the ball a lot quicker Saiz ( and he's a superb player) does need to pull the trigger more We took bad options in good situations Should have won, could have lost Need a bit of pace out wide. At home we still want to counter and seem a bit stuck when we can't For me, saiz or Hernandez at home, not both. Need more of a threat outside Also, they looked a bit frustrated with the officials. Reminded me of last season when the wheels fell off. Couple of new faces about the place may be required
