But we are leeds and we carry on no matter what our backs have been against the wall before. We all know what bates is about F.him i say.

5 weeks ago I posted that there is no take over at Leeds but just a smokescreen to get the fans off kb's back, I was called a Hudderslfield fan and other such fowl names on the back of this statement. I would just like to point out that any players brought in have been funded by the sales of our better players and not from any external investment, I would also like to say that many many clubs have been taken over or bought out over the years and on every osccasion the press get hold of the story and publicise it before the actual announcment from the club, all we have had is speculation and rumours from fans. As much as I would like to believe a takeover is iminent why would anyone buy a club after the transfer window shuts when you will have months where you have no impact on the bussiness you have just bought, you may as well wait till January to buy!!
Anyway KB has made it to the end of the tranfer window once again and fans have bought season tickets and merchandise so why would he go anywhere when he is raping the fans of hard earned dosh. I believe we have to go backwards to go forwards and to get shut of the OAP. Boycott several games,he will lose interest fast if no money is coming in for him then we can look to a bright future and the premier league
MOT

Believable5 Unbelievable5

What a load of rubbish. It's only stayed hush hush because of the clause and only a few ppl are involved so any leak would be easy to find and a massive suit would be filed.

The takeover will happen just not yet bates wants top dollar the buyers won't pay it so they will haggle until bates goes bust of buyers give in.

Agree1 Disagree0

"so any leak would be easy to find and a massive suit would be filed"

Total crap, I could post anything I want on to the internet and you'd never find out who I was or where I was from!

All I do is go and buy a mobile dongle, sit in a car with a laptop and post whatever I want on the net.....

So how would you sue me for that then?

Oh, and by the way, this isn't what I am doing at the moment, this is a genuine post from a genuine computer with a genuine ISP - but you still don't know who I am, as it's not actually MY computer........

Nice watching ssn exciting transfer deadline news when u know there's not a chance in hell us doing anything.even Maynard whom has been linked with us for ages is going to Cardiff by the looks.
Then we have Rhodes playing Saturday aiming to prove his well overpriced transfer.
Jan will be too late,we will be ok for few weeks then injuries and susp will kick in..still worrying times

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Guys, LUFC are rated as the one of the best football investments clubs in the UK. This is because we are a one club city and have not only an extremely large UK fan base (where ever i go i always bump into a Leeds fan) we also have a large international fan base (i was in the hiils of Cyprus recently in a bar and what was on the wall....a LUFC scarf and the guy i sat next to was a LUFC fan. None of us fans know when this takeover will happen, BUT it will in the next days to months. We are a great investment. I would love to know the strangest places you have seen a LUFC fan. We will rise again. Bristol Leeds ( i was born in Leeds and my 15 yearold son who was born in Bristol loves the Leeds as well. Keep spreading the word. If you lose faith in the name LUFC so will others. We must promote the badge with pride!! amen.

Agree7 Disagree0

Hi, strangest place for a Leeds fan? That would have to be the Bates office.

Bit worrying that Green is already out for up to 8 weeks after only his first game...?

Agree0 Disagree0

"One team city then why the poor crowds . bates i know ticket prices i know but we should be getting bigger crowds "

You answered your own question - the reason is Bates!

I'm certainly not going to pay the near hundred pounds it would cost me to get to Elland Road and back for a game while he is still in charge. I don't mind paying the fares to watch the team, but I do draw the line at putting the gate money into Bates's pocket - sorry!

30 Aug 2012 19:09:31
Hey guys just wanna say if we wanna get papa smurf out we should not turn up to all low key matches ie vs peterburgh Barnsley watford etc .
So Ken loses money and the takeover may happen .
Mot

Believable0 Unbelievable8

Think on it fella, the games not to go to would be the class A games as he would lose more money!

Yeah great idea lets stop supporting our team
That will help
Let's start buying Huddersfield shirts too
Oh you already have one
Well f##k off our site then

Shocking idea! Get behind the lads!

Agree7 Disagree3

Some off us have season tickets n regardless whether we turn up or nt weve paid for it
Bainesyboy

Agree4 Disagree1

I'm still going to the games but I understand those who choose not to fund the Bates regime. Maybe Russjon and others like him need to grow up a bit and respect the fact that other people are entitled to their views and can choose to protest in whatever way they see fit? Banter is fine - but insults coupled with bad language just degrades us all. Not needed...

Agree6 Disagree2

Not turning up for games just makes the players wonder why they came here - that will surely have an effect on how they play - even at the games that are well attended - bad idea i'm afraid fella

Agree1 Disagree1

Hi, I agree with the reply regarding language and insults.
Foul and insulting language is the last refuge of the poorly educated.

Agree3 Disagree2

You carn't slate him for not wanting to line Bates's pockets because when we had full houses sometimes last season, did that change the outcome. NO! We still sold are best players. So that isn't working then. People have the right to choose what they feel might make a differece. Ive been to one game this season but i'm finding it hard to want to give my money to that sad old man, when i could use it to take my 2 children somewhere nice. Doesn't make me anyless a fan. It makes me feel i'm going to get what i want for my money, love and respect. I get the love from Leeds but were is the respect.

Agree1 Disagree1

Ha poorly educated am I
The bloke is talking tat and surely I'm entitled to a response or are the only people allowed an opinion the ones you agree with
Protest however you feel you need to but remember Leeds utd will be around long after bates has gone
And to be fair he saved us
I think if it wasn't the Chelsea link then he would get a lot better write up from us
I do want him out but I also want fickle self pitying fans like you gone as well
Bet you loved risdale when he was spending
No protest then
Look where that got us
Also apologies for my educational problems
Russjon

Agree1 Disagree0

No he didn't save us. He put us into administration in the first place and somehow convinced the administrators to hand the club back fro a pittance when there were other offers.

And for the record - the education bit wasn't from me, I try to avoid personal comments, but the respect/language comments were.

I don't agree with boycotting matches either but it's not my place to tell others how to spend their money and if they hate Bates enough to not want to go that's their prerogative.

They do have a strong argument though - economic sanctions have been used as a very effective political tool for decades. Forcing Bates to sell by squeezing profits is a tactic which would probably work - I personally just don't want to do it.

And the personal abuse/language was uncalled for Russjon - you haven't said anything about that.

everyone saying if we r in play offs in january and the takeover has been completed then we can push on, i see it if 2-3 players and i mean inportant players for us get injured then we will be in mid-table and screwed.

From what I remember the last time greyson had millions to spend on a player he bought billy 'barn door' paynter. What a really good signing that was. Good look cow-nipples field town!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

He was free and we were skint.

Agree1 Disagree0

Cow nipples field lmao love it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Grayson never had money to spend pal, and Billy cost nothing, don't be too quick to jump on Town cos with the addition of Beckford, Hammill, McCormack?? And maybe a couple more loans etc we may find ourselves in their shadows. I'm a big Leeds fan mate but lets leave the bitching until a bit later on, see how were actually getting on eh?
With every fibre of my being I want nothing more than a dominant Leeds again, but, at least hopefully until January we can only really call ourselves competitive, which granted is a far cry from last season. Keep your chin up, like Ed said earlier, there's something going on at ER, something good too or Warnock would've scarpered!

At least until the world stops going round!

So burn splash 8 on Rhodes = 20 25 goals plus 15 20 fro
Other striker. Not that great value and not that great rest of team either. If we had 8, I would spend 3 on striker 3 on fast creative mf and 1 on backup d, m and s!
From what ive seen in first three games, this league may not be as tough as I thought, pool aside, who look class and we Are in better shape than I thought we would be.
The future is bright. Bates going going go...
Money to spend in jan and I predict. 2nd in the

Beckford ask to come home, we say....

Lots of people crowing and gloating
about the possibility that Ken Bates
could have left the club in the next
few days. He did well for Chelsea
but he has had a lot of stick from
Leeds fans so you never know what
he has done and sold out to.It may
be that the new owners are worse
than him and his predecessors.
Sometimes what you hope for turns
out to be what you didn't want.
How many owners have portsmouth
had, for example and what were
they like? Look at some of the
other clubs who have had their
assets stripped. I dont know Ken
Bates but we were down and
almost out when he took charge
but we have improved consistently
albeit slowly over the years. We
may have new owners shortly lets
see what they do before cheering
the exit of Ken Bates. Lets hope its like Chelsea rather than Portsmouth!

Believable7 Unbelievable19

Improved, and your planet is? I firmly believe that apart from the back 4 we had a better side going forward in league 1.

Agree6 Disagree6

I could not agree more. Another example of a club stagnating under so called rich new money owners. Aston Villa! We know nothing. Its not beyond the realms of possiblity that we could be in the same position as we were when Mr Ridsdale left and a Mr Krasner and his cronies took over. Be careful what we wish for. Heres hoping for some good news.

Agree1 Disagree0

BATES OUT OUT OUT AND SOON

Agree1 Disagree0

I watched them in every division as a season ticket holder includind all the losses in the play offs. Good going forward in league one- defence very shaky. Crept over the line against Bristol city. Consolidating in Championship. Couldn't cut it to start with. Now much more solid. To me that says slow but steady progress doesn't mean we are good or that we would necessarily be better with a sheik in charge. That's the planet I am from.

Agree1 Disagree1

Even if its only being brokered by GFH. The ceo of that company is David Haigh, a life long LUFC fan. So i doubt things arew goin to be nothing less than miles better.

I don't care what's happening behind closed doors anymore. Given the fack that Neil has had the same to deal with as Grayson did last season and last season with Howson, Gradel Snodgrass we hadn't won a game and we have now lost one in five and kept 3 consecutive clean sheets at home. I'm happy. Long may it continue

Sam luFC

Believable19 Unbelievable1

Remember the DOL season when were almost unbeatable up until January and then nearly failed to qualify for the Champions League? 3rd place was handed to us on a plate by Liverpool imploding in the end.

Don't want to sound negative and there's a bit of devil's advocate here but I do think it's a bit early to read too much into this and assume this will last all season. We've beaten 4 poor to very poor teams, Wolves included, and been completely outclassed by the only good team we've had to play.

Another way of looking at this is Warnock win rate 29%, Grayson win rate 50%. Get some perspective and let's see where we are by Christmas.
ML

Agree1 Disagree2

More than 3/4 of that % is from Graysons team. So at the moment its Grayson 50% win rate and Warnock 80% win rate, with own players, stick to the facts properly mate.
BARMY ARMY!!
mot4life

Agree2 Disagree1

Like I said - bit of devil's advocate in there. You can prove anything with statistics.

Warnock was brought in last year to improve things and last year he failed - very badly. If he's a better manager he should have been getting better results with the same players last year as well as this. This 'his own players' argument is nonsense.

The real point though is this - singing Warnock's praises on the basis of 5 results, 2 against lower league teams and 2 against poor teams, seems to me to a bit premature.

Read the posts on this site after each game - certain promotion after Wolves, doom & gloom after Blackpool. Too early to say either way don't you think?

I'll make a judgement come December rather than getting carried away in August.
ML

Agree0 Disagree2

Not getting carried away. Just going on the fact Warnock has his own set of players now and none of them players from last season stopped us from leaking goals. So no matter who was the manager, them players were not up to the task. Now tell me how many goals Warnocks players have let in so far and don't for get, yes we did get beat by Blackpool but only by 2-1. Ipswich got took apart and we were in there back yard. So yes you are right its to early to say this is the season but bringing in a whole new squad in a short space of time and this is what you get. Just imagine if he had the funds for the iceing. I don't see one weak link but in Grayson's team, i couldn't even see a chain. I exspect good things, if he gets the chance to bring in another 2-3 players to bolster the squad.
BARMY ARMY!!
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster here :) love how on a very positive post people can still turn the negatives. I was simply stating that we had kept clean sheets at home and won games. You can only beat what's put in front of you and with the exception of Blackpool we have and not looked shakey at the back (with the exception of Blackpool)

All I was trying to do was create some positivity around here but I guess I was wrong?

What are your thoughts ed?

Sam luFC {Ed013's Note - I like positivity on here (it doesn't come often!}, but also understand people's frustrations. We are a stronger unit and it makes a change to trust the defence. 2-3 good players needed to be a very good force}

Agree0 Disagree0

Positivity's good - I believe we'll win every match at 3pm on a Saturday - but a reality check's also good now and again. As for Blackpool - if you were there you'll know that the scoreline flattered us.

The company in question
I don't know if I trust them ive heard there loses are rudiculas can somone please shed some light.

Agree1 Disagree2

Now then lads,

Just in response to the finance situation at GFH...

In 2010 they posted net losses of $340+ million, however following strong shareholder support and a huge turnaround in trading etc the Company posted net profits of $380,000 in 2011...now that may not seem like much, however, if you put it into perspective the Company have had a turnround in fortunes of somewhere in the region of $400million! If this rate has continued into 2012, as planned, the Company will be sitting on net profits of somewhere in the region of $350-$400million...

I hope this clears things up for you and all concerned. MOT!!

Youngie!!

Agree1 Disagree1

Wouldnt put it past him to pay the snu to put that, reveryone go rush get a season ticket before sat, and lo and behold, the deals off...

Agree1 Disagree0

I've heard from good friends who work in finance companies that the debt was bigger than that and was approx $750M. There have been restructuring plans in place since then and this has been considerably reduced but they don't sound like the kind of people i'd want running the club. However if they have passed the FA's fit and proper person test then there can't be any issue.

Agree1 Disagree0

Also, worth pointing out that it is in fact GFH Capital that are fronting the bid, not GFH.

That's where David Haigh is CEO, and also the Chairman of GFH Capital (H.E Dr Ahmed Al Mutawa) has some interesting links into Al-Mubarek and the UAE Government.

My guess is GFH Capital are fronting and financed by backers linked to Al-Mubarek.

This is not a rumour but I think the deal has to be done by the transfer window close so the new owners have time to get in more players otherwise if not I can see this rumbling on and on.

If true about bates financial situation and Leeds crowds falling then I'm sure the new would be owners will wait until bates is so desperate to sell they get a great deal.

No one really knows what is going on its all half stories 2+2= 25.i hope we find out the reason why it took so long but I'm sure bates has made them sign confidentially clauses to keep it quiet but I have a feeling old bates has been fleecing us for years and now the till is empty no more players to sell ticket sales money for next 2 years used to pay back loans he took out to build more corporate offices court case money owed so think we're in a right mess.

Hope we can just focus on our great team again instead of debt debt debt.

Come on Leeds I'll be there Saturday cheering on our 2-1 win over Blackburn.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Disagree. Deal should be concluded mid to late Friday evening with a host of Bates favorable changes to the usual deal if the seller had not been greedy and senile. Will leave insufficient time for incoming transfers. Reason will not ramble on. I'm hearing strong rumor NW has given KB til December 1st to do takeover otherwise he walks. NW been more than reasonable so far and he doesn't want the emotions and uncertainty going into the winter window. Bates knows he's done with the fans and all at the club.

This lack of investment could leave us way behind clubs in the championship even huddersfield, by the end of the transfer window they will have a better side than us,the difference between there chairman and ours is,he will re invest any transfer fees into the team cos he is ambitious,so the 8m they get for Rhodes will be pumped back into the team,I bet Grayson is having a right old laugh at Warnock who can do nothing because he has not got a pot to p--s in..

Believable4 Unbelievable7

All we need is a couple more players and we will give this league a run for the money. Plus Grayson hasn't got 8 million to spend because its only that high, if he meets all thats exspected. We have the best manager in this league and that is priceless.
People are forgetting for some reason Ipswich sold him from the championship and that must of been for a reason. In my book, this lad is has not been tested in this league but i coild be wrong and time will tell. One thing is for sure, 2 of ares are tested in this league mac and becc and it will be like a new signing when Somma comes back into the fold.
Huddersfield are goin to have to go down the same path as us, loan market. There isn't anothe time to sign someone now i feel. Plus the fact still remains, we are above them and long may that continue.

They sold him because Roy Keane was the manager.

The current bun are running a story saying bates will step down as chairman in next 72 hours. Usually wouldn't believe anything printed in the sun but I'm hoping this one is true

Wouldn't surprise me at all if the take over happened the secon the window shuts either.

Hopefully a light at the end of this dark tunnel

Guess Blackburn will win the league now. Probably with the other Black (pool) coming runners-up. We should make play-offs. Got to keep players fit.
