Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

Will James come or won't he? Well, if Swansea didn't want this to happen then they could easily have kicked this to touch by now. James himself says he's keen to make the move (and why wouldn't he be) .
So. Swansea want to see the deal done, James sanctions the move and Bub wants him (the only outfield player he is after) . So, yeah, in the end I think that they will get it over the wire.

Little bit surprised that we haven’t heard other rumours for similar players such as Jared Bowen slightly older but proven goal scoring record. Also surprised that our normal transfer linked oppos of Forest, Villa and D%#y haven’t been linked with James, it’s good and puzzling in equal measures?

Class Bowen will go for a higher fee in the £15m to £20m bracket. We won't have that kinda wonga until next season.

Be surprised if we don't sign James today. Think he is realistically our only target. Doubt it we have a back up target of even time to get them in if the James transfer falls through.

Think your spot on George just thought as in any game of poker you don’t want to show your hand too early, and tentative (publicised equiries to Hull May have helped focus Swansea’s mind) And given we are reported as the only suitors after James (why is that? ) it makes us come across as having every egg in a very small basket.

That being said, I think Mateusz 2 arriving has slipped under the radar, did you boys watch his YouTube clips? Yeah I get it’s YouTube and opposition may not have been much but he was playing in the 10 role and technically looks very good, has something of a Kevin De Bruyne look about him. seriously!

He’s highly rated Class but it remains to be seen if he can step up and how quickly. Probably won’t see owt of him this season apart from in the 23s.

I'm bored of the name Daniel James . Out of all the available players here and abroad why are we / Bielsa stuck on this one who Swansea are playing games with . He's worth £5m tops . Let's go out out and add two real quality attacking players buy or loan and seal are best chance of promotion in 15 years . And I don't buy this it's tough to buy quality in January . Ask Fulham . Mitrovic last year sealed it for them .

5mill, 10mill That's a hell of a lot of money to save and put towards a few loan deals?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 17:51:02
Because Bielsa wants this player, and if you trust his judgement then the club and fans need to back him. If we look at the performances he has got out of mostly the same squad of players from last season then I believe he has seen something in this boy!

31 Jan 2019 07:39:47
Didn’t he say he doesn’t pick the players and that aorta gave him names and he said yes or no? . or is it different with James, has Biesla picked him?

Alaw Victor has shown great heart as of late.

Personally I think Swansea are happy with the parachute money, the Bony mony and (if they can) the Fer money. So really, really, do not need/ want to sell. They hold all the aces. They have the mindset of "Let's see just how far Leeds will go If it doesn't happen then so be it". Again I think it then becomes too big a price/ gamble to pay. We should just walk away and invest elsewhere but I fear there is no Plan B. Unless Plan B is the U23s. I, for one, would not be too unhappy with that. Wait until summer and then see what Division we are buying for.

A couple of loans would do for me, just to provide squad depth and competition for places.

I’m tending to err in the same direction Leodis. Would hate to see us pay over the odds, just because it’s January, plus with the sales you mention, wage savings alone will have freed up their budget significantly. Loans to buy are fine by me too at this moment.

Calvario boy from wolves on a loan to buy would be good.

Leo and Bright Disagree. Your posts are unnecessarily negative. The clubs are very close to agreeing the transfer fee. It's no longer about amount but timing of payment. That suggests to me Swansea do need the money. Parachute sometimes not enough when you're stuck with big earners. I'm hoping the deal shall be done tomorrow. He's a good player and perfect fit for our team.

Why the panic? Just read on Transfermarkt his contract is up 30 June 2019. If the right assurances are given we can pick him up for nothing in the summer.
I also noted that of Set 2018 he was valued at 90k. That's some increase that is.
I also noted that he is from Beverley. Surely a boy of that age should be living near his mum.

Not being negative George, just don’t wanna get fleeced because Swansea need the money less now! I want us to sign the lad, but for the right money. As has been said, parachute payments, plus offloading a couple of their highest earners, strengthens their hand if negotiations are ongoing. Time is on their side too. Simple realism.

Bright How can it now be anything other than the "right money" when the fee has been agreed between the clubs, just not the instalment timing? £10m nothing in today's market. He's young, fast, scores goals at Championship level and an international. In today's market his fee was always going to be north of £7m. Factor in international player and January not yielding best value for the purchasing club and there you have your £10m. Consequently, there's no need for discussion on valuation any further!

30 Jan 2019 16:16:08
I agree with you George, Swansea aren't going up or down, so why would they risk £10m for a few months?
Money is agreed so they are prepared to do business, just timing!
I hope we do complete the deal, as we could lose him to a wealthier team in the Premier come the summer time!

Thanks DAEW. Get 'er done! Not sure any defence would like to play against Clarke, James and Roofe with Pablo pulling some strings.

Thought he had 18 months left on contract.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 17:43:58
In a market where outstanding contract period is a major factor in setting the market value of a player, I think anything over Ten Mill for someone with a day over 5 months left would be excessive. But as I’ve already said, I do actually want us to sign him, just not be out negotiated by Swansea! That said, if he costs £10mill and contributes significantly to our promotion this season, then it would be a drop in the ocean!

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 17:57:25
If we are going up like most on here keep saying then I can't see a problem with the fee, especially for player Bielsa wants. I heard lots of people say we haven't spent this money or that money, the Wood and Taylor, plus viera. Now we seem willing to spend people saying its too much. If we get a player Bielsa thinks can improve us then it's money well spent.

Bright and Leodis, iam sure Tottenham would like to get Jack Clarke for the "right money" too!

That’s a fair point Mezzer, and of course that’s the way of the game these days, even tho it’s mad. Still struggling to find my negativity in my first response to Leodis tho to be fair; just cautious, yet ever hopeful and optimistic! Nobody likes being called negative, when it’s not something that’s alien to them!? I repeat, I still want us to sign the lad!

disappointing the way Origi has turned out. Do you think he lacks the footballers brain for the highest level Ed?

Bench for Saturday . BPF, Shacks, Clarke, Bamford, Browne, Roberts and Harrison. That would be very strong.

More like BPF, Shackleton, Douglas, Stevens, Aapo, Kun, Forshaw.

Think with the starting eleven he might go Casillas, Ayling, Coops. Ponts, Douglas, Philips, Foreshaw. Klich at 10,Hernandez if fit Roofe and Alioski. My bench is wishful thinking that all these players will be in contention. If Hernandez is fit Dallas and Beradi are the only 2 injuries we have.

Jack Clarke can be anything he wants to be at LUFC

Absolutely no reason for him to ever need to leave

By the time he’s at his peak we will be back contending at the very top year in year out.

Bit early for that sort of talk other he's only just 18 and anything can happen. I remember everyone raving about a young alex mowet and look how that ended up. There will be many twists and turns in his career but hopefully he will not let the hype go to his head. Fingers crossed he gets the right advise because I'm not thrilled with harte as it sounds like he's been playing double agent thinking about himself and the payday he'd get from a sale.

Good points there Martyn. I seem to recall us being offered £7m by Everton for Mowatt.

I really don't know why players bother with agents, personally, I would use the union rep, I would imagine that the guys pay enough into it.

Agree Martyn, a day is a long time in football! The Rotherham game shows the challenges that he will face now he gets more attention, his space is cut down and his ankles bitten! I think that actually, it will do him good and show him how hard he needs to keep working.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 12:56:37
At the moment I would use him as a Solskar style super sub. Bring him on at half time and he can run the defenders ragged. I would half Brown on first half and replace him with Clarke until Brown is fit enough to do a full match, then have a ponder.

Alan smith used the players union 😉

All I’m saying is and I know jack reads this . he’s no need to move anywhere to progress in the next 5-7 years

Or ever

There is no “ bigger club”.
