Hi all

I'm new on here so please be gentle with me! Except I have been a whites supporter since the early 60s when Jackie Charlton visited my school.

Even when Leeds were in their heyday, Forest were always a bogey team for us. Which was a pain for me because I had cousins in Nottingham.

It was Mirfield Grammar School. Sadly big Jack’s attempts to teach me to head the ball were not totally successful.

Yes, I am optimistic. Tuesday night was great, and hopefully marked the turning point. J-K seems to be saying all the right things. Except we don’t actually want him to die for the club, just scoring lots of goals will be quite sufficient.

Thanks for all the welcomes. This is my third attempt at replying! Don’t know if the first two are on here somewhere!

Presser from Bielsa about Augustine suggests that although he is physically fit he needs time to learn team tactics. Wouldn't surprise me if he is not in the matchday squad on Saturday.

As I said, rubbish is only us that come up with that crap all other play the next game and we can’t afford to waste time get him in,

30 Jan 2020 19:12:40
it's mental, every decent manager knows a new signing lifts a new team and gives them a bounce, as well the player being on fire due to new club. remember Masinger from low level african football to wilks prem team and he hit a hat trick. happens time and tiem again

it its good enough for shankly, revie, wilko, clough, fergie and everyone else what's wrong with belisa?

30 Jan 2020 19:59:30
Stubborn comes to mind Bermo.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 20:14:14
He’ll be in the squad on Saturday, and Bamford will be told to bust his guts more than ever, before Big Kev comes on and bags a hatrick.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 23:09:30
Think he will be on bench for a couple of games, maybe a cameo then i reckon Bubs will find a spot for him.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 23:28:33
I I hope we will Ben in the bench. Weather he sees action will probably depend on how the game is going. Did we even use a sub on Tuesday? If so must have been very late on.

the FA have responded to criticism about refereeing decisions going against Leeds by appointing a referee for Saturday's game that they think he will be more likely to get a few decisions right. An American named Stevie Wonder apparently.

Bowen going too Crystal Palace. £16m plus add ons. Awww well we got big Kev. Could be a wonder addition. I feel he's loving it already by his posts. ⚽️⚽️👍👍MOT ALAW.

30 Jan 2020 16:06:21
Really makes you wonder how true if at all Leeds were going to pump 20 in for Ché. Jarrod going for 16 so that says to me it could have all been rubbish talk to try keep the fans happy . Jarrod far superior IMO.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 16:21:16
Crumb of comfort - at least he is not going to Championship rivals. Although Palace will be rivals next year.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 18:54:37
Like most transfers, you don’t hear of all the enquiries and you don’t get all the details of what you do hear

Adams, proven championship player is a safer bet than big Kev, but. history is the judge and if J-K fulfilled his potential with us he will have looked like a steal for nearly half the price of Adams.

30 Jan 2020 23:30:19

I have followed and enjoyed this site for many years without saying much, but things have started to irk me.

It does not matter to me whether a poster is an eternal optimist or a prophet of doom, but increasingly the comments seem to be playing the man and not the ball and, as a result, regular posters are leaving us.

Please keep your comments to a point of view and not another poster. It does not make acceptable to make a comment that is clearly a dig at the individual, but then say they are entitled to their opinion.

For crying out loud, we all support Leeds, so please, let's march on together and keep the banter friendly.

Feel free to shoot this messenger, just keep it nice amongst the regulars.

Great post Jungle, I agree entirely, the fact that you feel you have to add the ‘don’t shoot the messenger’ caveat shows your excellent “taking the man” analogy is spot on.

Been on this site for a few years now and am really gutted to lose such brilliant people such as Mad Mick, Spanish, Speedy and now Martyn really has taken a lot of fun and great Leeds supporters away.

Genuinely hope Martyn takes a breather recollects his thoughts and comes back the Big Man is a big loss.

We are all capable of typing ALAW aren’t we but our actions, words and most importantly intent must reflect it.

Thanks again Jungle.

well said mate MOT.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 13:25:04
I agree with Jungle - we all suffer the roller coaster that is Leeds, we are all entitled to an opinion, but having a go at someone because their opinion isn't your own is stupid, ALAW MOT onwards and upwards.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 14:17:57
jungle, you are entitled to your opinion.

Guess one of the ways to change the conversation is to contribute to it which you have now done, so fair play. maybe some other lurkers can also pitch in from time to time us regular posters would welcome the input and have said time and again we value everyone's opinion even if we don't agree with it. differing points of view are best imo because they generate debate.

I do think, however, that people need to lighten up a bit and not take comments and views so seriously. its only comments on a website and tbh even the 'digs' that you refer to tend to be very light compared to what i've seen on other sites (particularly fb) where people are told quite openly to f. off and are completely lambasted by other posters among other things.

Why is it that when ever we but a player they don’t go straight in to the team, other clubs buy and then they play the very next game, MB put him straight in no more messing around.

30 Jan 2020 20:17:32
Bam score two, and had a blinding second half. He’s not going to be dropped just yet!

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 23:31:37
I think everyone knows I’m not Bamfords biggest fan, but you can’t drop someone who just scored twice. Maybe sub him late on if he doesn’t repeat his performance.

31 Jan 2020 09:03:28
Thanks for the comments guys.

I don't say much because I know sod all about football and never played the game until I turned 50.

I was just lucky enough to start supporting Leeds as a youngster, when the only coverage we got down under was Match of the Day and Shoot magazine (about a month after it issued in the UK) :)

Phil Hay suggesting that Augustin could play in a creative role with the possibility of both him and Bamford playing. Does that mean he is going to be playing as a winger maybe?

Good match to try it out.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 08:04:57
Really don't expect to see him start this match, would be pleasantly surprised if he did. Think Bielsa will start with Bamford playing as the loan striker and big kev maybe amongst the subs. Don't expect to see much change with his starting line-up in the next few games unless we have injuries.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 11:13:26
Mezz Who's Paddy on loan from? Can we send him back?

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 12:13:24
Yeah Augustin will be on the bench for the next game.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 13:03:05
not bad to have him as an impact sub in this league with the phsicalltiy and tired legs he could be a match winner. bit like eric was back in the day

i love pablo but he is past his best now so think they will be roatiting with each other (just seen how i have spelt that. sounds a bit dodgy don't it? _.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 13:48:18
How is it that Erikson can go straight into Milan's team last night yet our new recruits will probably have to do a probation period 1st and become. available around mid March 😂😂😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 13:50:19
George.
Not like you to be pedantic! 😂😜.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 13:51:22
i love a bit of roatiting Bermo. Pablo has been injured a lot this season but can still make a huge difference when fit and rested - what we need is someone who we can bring on for himtoward the end of games that doesn't completely remove the threat.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 16:12:07
i agree pablo is pure class and maybe the best footballer at leeds in last 16 years (although delph and Snodgrass up there for me also) but he is not a force week in week out for 90 minutes and I think the new fella could be the answer to that

on another note who do love a bit of roatiting.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 16:21:56
George don't tell me we brought him? What paid actual money!

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 20:19:42
Difference is Chris, that Erikson plays midfield, where as Kev would be expected to play as lone striker. A vast difference in responsibilities in an MB team set up.

Rewatching the match. absolutely incensed and flabbergasted by those forking EFL officials. truly playing against 14 ( again and again and again this season)

It's more than reached the point now that the Leeds team even more needs Leeds fans fully positive 110% behind the team throughout the game. no negativity at all against any Leeds player whatever happens.

Let's STICK IT UP the EFL, the EFL match officials, Sky and their ' pundits ' and all the other Leeds United haters.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

30 Jan 2020 08:22:13
Agree re getting behind the lads, and agree we have more than our fair share of decisions go against us. But as a fan it's hard not to get frustrated and even vent, we do as a team make our own fair share of mistakes that ultimately cost us. would much rather be singing the praises of all things Leeds because this means everything is brilliant, if we are poor then will say it. One thing I do is respect all fans on here right to have their say, good or bad, positive or negative.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 13:07:18
the ref thig is real but we can't use it as an excuse and a reason we have to use it as motivation to be better

in my game we have a lot of neigitive press who want to snipe. They snipe at me because i wrote it and i'm in it, they wanted to snipe at lucy pinder because she was a model and shouldt be acting, then countless others I have worked with

we know it is there so we don't give them an inch, don't let them slate us. leeds are the same, they know any half tackle will be a pen, they know we won't get descions so let that inspire us to win. bit like what dennis wise did when at leeds. its us against them.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 15:40:20
Why not start chanting against the referee and linesman (too old to start calling then their millennial names) from the beginning of the game

Only positive chants directed to our players, no negative chants at our players at all. Instead just chant at the ref. Along the lines of "we know your a cheat", "11 against 14 and we'll still beat you", "why does the EFL and refs hate us"

Obviously I am no good at making chants up. And obviously I am not that confident to start any chant. But psychologically it might make the ref 'prove' he isn't bent by giving some decisions for us.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 16:13:11
dont knock yourself axe i think 11 against 14 and we still beat you is absloute class and really want to hear it at ER top job mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2020 16:28:50
Like your suggestion very much Alf.
the fans should make clear to the match officials their. feelings on this every game from the very first whistle . I especially like the '11 against 14 and we will still beat you'

Also as I mentioned yesterday I feel it is essential that this situation is brought out OFFICIALLY into the public eye by LUST and other Leeds supporters groups preparing a detailed dossier of all the unjust decisions this season that Leeds have suffered from and get this and a petition signed by thousands of Leeds supporters to the EFL to officially respond to

For the EFL to be seen to have integrity it has a duty and obligation to respond to offical accusations of lack of integrity, impartiality of it's own EFL match officials

LUST and other fans groups should be PROACTIVE on this asap. This would be the most useful thing LUST would ever do.
