Im just watching Crystal Palace v Scumchester

and i like the look of Wilfred Zaha Very nimble and pacy

Would love to see leeds sign him in january

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Prem teams looking at him and he will cost proper cash!

Agree2 Disagree0

Rather see a sensible alternative like Jay Rodriguez from Burnley. Quality and hungry plus he might be affordable. {Ed003's Note - good prospect,Burnley rate him highly I think they turned down around £5m for him in the summer }

See below. Leeds thinking about a bid to bag a promising winger. Maybe could be a good shout if relatively cheap, could improve, and possibly in the long run be the next Mad Max!

''Skysports.com understands a number of Championship sides are tracking Stevenage winger Lawrie Wilson.

The former Charlton trainee has established himself as a key member of the Stevenage side since arriving at the club in 2007.

The 24-year-old has played an instrumental role in Stevenage's rise from the Conference to League One over the last couple of seasons.

Wilson's impressive performances at Broadhall Way have caught the attention of several clubs higher up the Football League who are weighing up moves for the player.

The likes of Leeds, Cardiff and Watford are all thought to be keeping tabs on Wilson ahead of the transfer window reopening in January.''

Billy Dennehey of Shamrock Rovers.. Very pacefull, quick feet, good finishing and great delivery.. He is very very fast.

Agree3 Disagree1

What about jordan rhodes in jan to link up with mccormack nt saying we need him but one for future ? mot

Agree3 Disagree0

This is real world football not FIFA, you cant just go out and sign whoever you want with monopoly money.

Agree0 Disagree1

No one has said messi or ronaldo, and the players said are realistic

Agree2 Disagree0

Who needs Messi when you can recall Billy Paynter from loan...

Great to see my idea of naming a suite after Gary Speed in the East Stand has come off. My opinion of Ken bates has just been increased - Thanks to anyone who recommended it as well I see by Marching On Together we have managed to get a great man a lasting memorial

Believable4 Unbelievable0

So glad it was your idea mate...! maybe we should name another box after you for thinking of such an ingenious idea..! don't boast G.S deserves this irrespective of who's idea it was

Agree10 Disagree0

Agree with the post above, Speedo deserves respect no matter what, as in another post someone wanted it to be cheap tickets on Saturday because of the tragic loss so they can go down and pay respect, they should anyway regardless of cost, and if the can't afford it they can pay respects in a different way. R.I.P Gary and godbless his family.

guys and gals, we are just over a month from the jan transfer window.....................who do you think we need in/out??

personally i think 1 rb and 1 cm.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I'd like to see Simon strengthen all over the pitch, 3 or 4 players to make a versatile squad with more options.

Agree4 Disagree0

What players though??

Agree0 Disagree0

Hard to name names when clubs don't release players easily in January. George Boyd (Winger Peterborough), Marvin Elliot (Midfielder Bristol C), Lee Novak (Striker Huddersfield), Martin Cranie and Sammy Clingan (Right Back and Midfielder, Coventry) are all players that could push us into the next level i reckon. but would cost a bomb.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sadly I think we'll struggle to improve on what we've got. I don't think that there will be anyone good enough within our budget available in January but I hope I'm wrong.

I think we need options in most positions quite honestly but a right back and a holding midfielder have to be our two main priorities.

Agree2 Disagree0

Sure it will end up being some loans, but there are some good players out there not getting a game.

Agree0 Disagree0

"we had a look round and could not see there was much in terms of improving our squad, and i'm confident with this group of players, we did have a couple of enquiries which came to nothing". that will be the speech at the closure of the window. Bates will then come out and say its down to Simon what players he wants and we always do our best to get them. I.E Carbon Copy of what was said in August

Leeds United have announced details how they plan to pay tribute to Gary Speed at Elland Road against Millwall on Saturday.

Both teams will wear black armbands with the Whites players and management wearing black armbands embossed with ‘Speed 11’

A minute’s applause will also be held ahead of the game after which both Simon Grayson and Millwall manager Kenny Jackett will lay wreaths.

A video montage featuring remembering Gary Speed will be played on the big screen.

Fans will also pay tribute with a special banner to Gary with the words ‘Go on Gary Speed, get one yourself son’ a reference to the famous commentary which accompanied his famous goal against Sheffield United in April 1990.

* Leeds United v Millwall kicks off at 12.30pm.

Howson played well last night in a 5 man midfield, but doesn't do it so well when in a 4. Should he be dropped when we play a 4?

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Now that Becchio's back do we need to play as a 4? 5 is almost always better in the modern game, certainly if you want to play with 2 wide players like Snoddy & Sam/White.

Agree1 Disagree0

And Becchio is great up front on his own. The formation got the best out of our captain, and out ot Brown too (who'd've thought it?!).

Agree2 Disagree0

I'd have thought it. I have a client who's a big Pompey fan and season ticket holder. He told me Brown was unsubtle, not technically gifted in any way but useful. 100% commitment, good at breaking up attacks, might break a few legs and will get a few red cards.

If Forest continue to struggle until Christmas and during January, Lewis McGugan would be a great asset to our midfield.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Good call, id take him, good attacking midfielder, works hard. Possibly not the most essential position needing strengthening, maybe a holding midfielder would be better

Agree2 Disagree0

Agree totally my dad was saying the exact same thing to me last night during the match

Firstly I’d like to congratulate the lads on a fantastic performance and result last night, they really made everyone proud and played well as individuals and as a team. Secondly a big congrats to SG for changing the tactics to a formation that worked well for us last year, needless to say I have been whinging he needs to play that formation for ages. Howson was sensational last night because he was playing as an AM not a CM and I thought becchio like usual did a great job as a holding striker. I would like to see white play more as a LW rather than LB and Pugh slot in at LB in the future. White tended to get quite clumsy in defending but there is no doubt when he has the ball he is a serious threat to the opposition. Would like to see Varynen and Clayton in the middle of the park, although I think varynen has had groin surgery, and also see another RB preferably a more defensive minded one. I think it would be interesting to see if McCormack is able to play as a lone striker just in front of Howson or if it takes a Keogh or a becchio to do the job. The 1st team when fit in my opinion should be Loners Lees Odea Paddy Pugh Varynen Clayton Snoddy Howson White Becchio. Finally I’d like to say how fantastic the leeds fans were yesterday not only in supporting the team but probably more significantly in remembering the Leeds legend that is Gary Speed. I’d like to see any other team put more into their remberances toward GS. Id like to set the challenge for leeds to attain and dedicate promotion this year to speedo, right where he’d expect us to be AL

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Yes but lees in the centre instead of PK and lichaj in at right back in January if he's fit

Agree2 Disagree0

Would like to see Brown given a proper chance. He was poor early on but he did well last night and we've seen nothing so far from Varynen.

Agree2 Disagree0

I am the original poster i agree with lees at cb but that leaves connolly as our only RB if we did get lichaj back that would be great but i doubt we will and agreed that brown played well against forest but i still think varynen would be a better option (he looked clued up for the 20-30 minutes he was on for against man utd)

An email I sent to Leeds Utd this morning.
reception@leedsunited.com

Can I suggest we all email the club, place on facebook and twitter and hopefully the club will respond.

FAO Messrs Bates and Harvey,

In view of the current outpouring of grief over the very sad loss of Mr Gary Speed and the excellent tribute paid to him by the amazing Leeds Utd away fans last night at the City Ground would it not be prudent to allow the home fans to pay their own tribute this Saturday against Millwall.

Perhaps reduce the ticket price for this game to those that do not already have tickets? Fill the ground and give Gary Speed the best send off we Leeds fans know how. In addition it would provide a fantastic atmosphere and may be the catalyst for improved home form? A full house at Elland Road would provide extra income to the club, with more programmes, pies and pints sold, perhaps something to consider for the future Messrs Bates and Harvey?

Whatever your decision, as a club, please give it your very best between now and 12.30 on Saturday to sell as many tickets as possible. The current financial climate has an impact on us all, hence the reduced attendances this season, I am sure that even just for this game the majority will find the spare cash to purchase a ticket at the high prices currently sold at, to what will be a very special and emotional day, please play your part and reduce the ticket prices.

I Think we sould have the same team for millwall
game but in jan change connlly brown

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Can't we judge Brown on his performances before saying he should be changed. If he plays every game like last night then why would we change him. Solid protection of the back 4, created a goal for Becchio. Isn't that good enough?

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry got to add they were all very good
even connly brown
