If there is doom and gloom in the changing room then perhaps it, s because they are not performing and maybe Evans is telling it like, each it is and they don't, you like it, if that is this case then they need to man up and play to there abilities.

I agree it is the players who need to man up, not big Steve E, I will judge him (if he is still here) once he has got another 3-4 players he wants and then it will be more like his team.

I think when you come into a team that you have not built then you need 4-5 of your own picks, you will always have 4-5 who are good enough for the team anyway but need to have players you really rate to help play like you want your team to play.

Not thinking about Saturday until Saturday I have decided as can't waste my emotional energy ha ha.

If I go we would lose anyway ha ha, what are the odds that I go to last 5 home games last season (starting from this point to make a point) and 8 this season and the only one I miss we win 1-0?

Oh yeah I guess that may apply to a lot of Leeds fans, still got to say how unlucky was I to miss our only home win in 14 games cause I missed just one?

You have to laugh, would have got massive odds for that kind of sequence I reckon, will stop moaning now.

Don't know why its so ridiculous all this talent and we're hovering above relegation whose to blame surely the buck stops with the players you'd swear these hopefuls were on fire week in week out and the same people are on here slating he teams performances saying how bad we are playing no passion no guts or is that just the players who have come in so why is it ridiculous if we can apparently get so much for this lot and maybe get a few players that can make Leeds a team to fear again.

I asked you to name 11 players we would put out on the pitch, if we sell the players you mentioned. Can you formulate your thesis and tell us where you think our position would be by the end of the season? Please give us your team?

Wex/Deda We should'nt sell all our best youngsters but some of our best youngsters are maybe rated too highly, i'm saying that from recent performances.

I remember some bright person saying games and won/lost in midfield and on the whole that I guess is right, if you can boss the midfield then more often than not you should win.

Of the youngsters I have yet to see C Taylor play bad, so he for me is the best keep him.

Cook is up/down needs people around him who can help him develop but does have great potential so try and keep him (may be hard) .

Sam B is a fine full back but has been below average for ages so we should sell and (if? ) we got 4-5 m for him then I would spend it on 2 quality championship types mid 20's who know the score, 1 midfield, 1 in defender.

I would sell Mowatt if we got say 5-6m, buy a proven forward.

So team could be

The Cat, Taylor/Berardi full backs both well above average in this league for sure.

Cooper + new guy (say 2m) with Bamba as third option able to hold its own in this league.

Up front - New guy say 4m of mowatts cash, then either Ant or Erwin with one of the youngsters coming into squad, sell Wood get maybe 1m back.

Midfield - Cook, Botaka, new exp guy (say 3m) and Bridcutt which would be good for this league.

so selling Sam (who is going to go and has added nothing to team this year so it won't hurt too much) and Mowatt for around 10m allows mad MC to get 3 quality players in which would make us a better balanced team, i. e. An experienced vocal defender, a proven championship or just a proven goalscorer and a midfield enforcer type who is also going to talk/hold the line, if we have 2 of these in midfield then frees cook up and Botaka to hopefully do what they can.

I think I would do that but it is all opinions at the end of the day.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Nov 2015 21:25:47
Taylor is the only young player that I rate. Byram is awful, Mowatt scores the odd worldie but never dominates a midfield battle and Cook is vastly overrated by the fans. I wish Phillips and Dawson would get more of a chance, they can't be any worse. Midfield is easily the weakest department atm, but we see the same 4 players every week. Why isn't Botaka starting?

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Nov 2015 21:44:09
Lads you've just confirmed what I've being saying barring Taylor none of the others outstanding and if we get figures being suggested maybe right time to cash in apparently have byram replacement in Lewis Coyle and would be nice to own our stadium it's not that mad is it.

Agree2 Disagree2

30 Nov 2015 22:26:30
Ok how much do you think we could get for Byram, Mowatt and Cook. Selling them in one transfer windows, would stink of desperation. Fans would accuse Cellino of lacking ambition. You are forgetting the most obvious problem; a long list of creditors. Phil Hay says Cellino showed him a file about 2" thick of unpaid debts. We get any money people will be wanting there slice, expect lots of winding up potions. We are £49 million in debt. Expect GFH to want some of the money they haven't leant us. As people haven't already said we sell our best players and replace them with inferior ones. People said the same after we sold Ross. Did we buy players for 2-3 million. No we spent a fraction of the money loaning players who were not good enough. The team you picked would take us down. Simply not good enough.

So strengthen not weekend what we haven't. Don't want to see league 1 football again. Ok some of our players will be at home there. Cellino needs to come up with a wad of money in January and buy better players than we haven't. Otherwise it will be even worse than it is now.

I don't care which manager you bring in. With the quality of the players, the baggage they are carrying due to recent history, and the type of ownership involvement there's little anyone else could do at the moment, We need some quality players in that can inspire the youngsters (and others that have been affected) and who are not going to be affected by all the backroom stuff. Just changing the manager isn't going to achieve anything much. Investment and stability are necessary and I can't see it happening any time soon.

30 Nov 2015 16:31:02
With a view to nudge down the ridiculous posts regarding the sale of our youngsters down the page a little I am going to make this as long as possible.

I just wanted to talk about what I would do at the club if my 20 year experience playing football management and simulation games over the last 20 years was appropriate to allow me to manage this club. To that I can add that I have played a team (stick and ball) sport for over 20 years and captained and managed sides on match day.

Formation of choice to be 4-2-3-1

Starting from the back:

GK - we need to recruit another one, Marco is comfortable in this spot and needs real competition. God forbid he actually gets injured, unless we have a "jagielkaesque" substitute waiting. Form wise he has fixed up and started to perform again.

Defence - left to right Berrardi, Bamba, Cooper, Taylor . Although it has been questionable with mistakes being made in every game, I feel this is the best 4 for us. I would live to see Byram back, but until someone sorts his head and contract out there's no point. Belluschi and Wootton as back up.

Defensive Midfield - Cook and Bridcutt with Murphy and Adeyemi as back up. By far the best 2 there. I don't know about Bianchi as I don't know where he is with his injury.

Attacking Midfield - left to right Dallas, Mowatt (behind the striker) and Botaka. Start off this way plating the natural wing play game. This is largely due to the fact that Wood starts up front as balls would presumable be played high into the box. If went with Mirco upfront, the Sloth and Phillips can come in. Less wing play and more "balls on the deck" play. (That's out Plan B, or Plan A depending on how you want to play)

Forwards - Classic big man upfront style (with wingers as described earlier) Wood to start, Erwin if he under performs for even 1 game. Marco for the other style, he can even be brought on for Mowatt if we had to go 2 upfront to chase a game. Unfortunately we have only 3 stickers as I don't consider Doukara as a viable option and other (on this forum) have commented that Walters has had his chance and possibly McDaid as back up. The main reason for 1 upfront is the fact that playing 2 means we have no cover and these chaps think they do not have to perform.

With regards to Transfers and with January our next stop, a LB, GK and Striker are essential for the sake of the players well being and for completion. A quality CB would be nice, but if we can start scoring goals then I feel the current crop will be fine) . I generally think the players are way too comfortable knowing they will be picked week in week out. I would look at the free market as well, there were a number of free agents we missed out on and a number still out there that could give us the back up we require.

If I were not to get the job, I would hope that a true coach be brought in, one that knows and understand the way MC want to run the club. I do not think Steve Evans is one of these and I think he was an easy option that was quickly found I say this as a coach would crack on with the players he has and not say that the players were not his choice. The problem here is this coach should only be brought in the summer. Unfortunately now we are looking for a short term trouble shooter which is which I what I believe Steve Evans has been recruited as.

If someone was to be brought in January, I would have someone who knew the club, with McAllister as a possibility. In all honesty I would have liked Grayson as I don't think he was given a fair crack, but that's in the past now.

Id take Macca with a top defensive coach. Played great football under him before just the defence was awful! My choice. John Sheridan.
Done good jobs wherever he has been on a budget. His teams play good ball and he is a Leeds legend.
Stuck with Evans for a few more weeks though!

Really feel we will have to wait till after Hull game for a change in fortunes can't see us getting anything there hope I'm wrong and I know this is going to upset some but maybe we should cash in on youngsters as long as it's invested wisely maybe buying Elland Road and maybe a recognized leader.

Is there something they are putting in the water? Why are people coming up with such a stupid idea? TELL US THE TEAM YOU WOULD PUT OUT ON THE PITCH, if we sell Cook, Mowatt, Taylor and Byram. Three of these players are in the team because there is no-one to replace them. The other should be! So if you can reply with a decent 11 then just tell us all, or send off your c.v. to Cellino. There maybe a job vacancy soon.

Happy Monday people! Hope you have all recovered from the shocker at Loftus road? Going to be controversial and say how about this for hull, going to suggest a complete change of system and players to change it up for a few games a 3-5-2 system so basically sacrifice a defender to give us more in midfield. Bellusci, Bamba and Cooper as the 3 CBs rest Dallas and have Charlie Taylor as LWB 3 centre mids of Bridcutt holding Mowatt And cookie CM Alex more advanced cookie slightly deeper lying watching botaka s back, Botaka has to start for me As RWB and given licence to terrorise the hull defence. And I'd drop Wood to shake him up, I would start Erwin and have antenucci partner him, my bench wood be peacock farrell, wooten just for CB cover for the game incase of injury to the 3 CBs. Murphy, dallas Byram, Phillips and wood. Radical changes I know but we have to try something different, shake the team up fill the midfield whilst maintaining an attacking option of 2 up top instead of a lone striker. Thoughts 💭 guys my only concern would be could we cope with 3 at the back with bellusci, Bamba and Cooper? Come on all you footy managers how would you change it up? Mot dj 😎.

DJ well interesting post mate! Could the players play in that formation? would be massive risk if they haven't worked on it as we know our players are a bit thick ha ha.

I have never liked a back 3 and not that many teams play it so perhaps that says something but it is all down to if we can coach that in them or not so that up to SE I guess.

I would start we Sam B in defense now as he is showing willing in training/off field stuff by all accounts so that should not pee MC off too much.

I would drop Dallas and play Jordan B, so that is 2 changes from Saturday, would be tempted to try ERwin from start (I don't mind who drops out) .

Those changes would (in my opinion) add more skill and more pace and be more positive without throwing the baby out with bathwater.

Will be there Sat (which means we will lose ha ha) and for the first time this season I'm going to say we will lose at home 1-0 (so I'm double bluffing the gods of fate here as I always say we are going to win at home-then we don't) but play well so even more of a crisis come Saturday night.

DJ Thames I don't think your 3-5-2 system would work our defence is poor at the best of times reducing from 4 to 3 makes us more vulnerable. I liked the formation that Notts White posted at the weekend 4-2-3-1. His suggestion was to play the back four of Byram, Belluci, Cooper and Taylor. Defensive midfield Cook and Bridcuutt Cook both players are box to box players but if used right Cook could do the horse work and let Bridcutt protect the back four. Attacking midfield would be Botaka, Mowatt, and Dallas all supporting the front man who could be one of the three strikers we have, I think everybody would like to see Erwin in that position and as he tires Antennuci could be that super sub who scores them ever so vital late goals. After all this I don't think Evans will change his formation and the same old crappy football will be served up for us frustrated supporters to watch.

Our much vaunted youngsters are either not that good, haven't the bottle for the championship or are not passionate about the club or all of these Mowatt has scored a few great goals but has not done a lot to control midfield or create. Cook has not performed recently and Murphy after some early promise has not produced. Byram has also under performed but still better than Wooton. Cooper looks the part but, almost without exception gifts two or three goal scoring opportunities to the opposition every game. Noel Whelan thinks he is our best CH. He certainly isn't. If Belusci isn't playing we concede at least two goals and usually more. (Middlesborough was the exception) . Same applies to Bamba who also gifts goal scoring opportunties. That's why we are so bad at the back when they play together. We have lost two games but only conceded two goals. Only conceded two in five games. Midfield and attack are pitiful. Wood is worse than Morison (Never thought I'd say that) . Only out field players up to scratch are Taylor, Antenucci (although starting to struggle) , and Dallas, up to a point and not great. And that is it. Bridcutt might be ok but too soon to tell. Can't wait for Hull!

Steve Parkin who is a totally passionate Leeds United fan has tried and failed 4 times to purchase our once great club.
No doubt he will try again as he has told me it's his last wish in life to save the club and bring it back from whence it came.
However we have to face reality and back Steve Evans and the team even though we are hurting every week.
If Brighton can do it we surely can.

So we sell the only decent players we have. Putting everyone up for sale at the same time is a fires ale. This would send a message to everyone we are despair ate for cash and drive down the price of all the players in question. Cellino is saying the ground will cost more than £15 million. TA will cost 5-6. So if we don't get 20-21 million, we add a few million to push through the sale. Money that we could have spent on strengthening the squad. Can you please give us your best 11 that you would put on the pitch after selling these players. Unless we are supposed to spend even more money replacing these players. Ending with a huge financial loss for the season and a transfer embargo for the following season. You haven't thought this one through have you son.
