I know Varney missed a sitter but he didn't hide or drop his head. He worked hard and was unlucky not to score. Get behind the lad and encourage him. Ron MOT

Believable17 Unbelievable2

I have been a critic of Varney over the past few weeks. He has been poor but maybe he was out of position. He was arevelation leading the line. Much better than Becchio recent form. Plus without Becchio there wasn't the temptation to punt balls up the middle. Varney is quicker and runs the channels well. We looked a different outfit tomight. Wouldn't say play Varney rather than Becchio this Friday as Southampton were poor and it will be more difficult at Brighton. It is an option for the future if playing Becchio continues to be a problem for the team and we dont bring in a quality striker.

luke varney is a leeds united player, if he gives 100% i'd rather have him than some overpaid pr-madonna who would f*** off when the chips are down, do'nt forget he turned clubs down to come to leeds probably for less money ?

get off his f***in back and let him get on with it.

Believable13 Unbelievable1

I still don't think he's worthy

: BBC5live Craig Burley on Luke Varney's miss "If you have never kicked a ball in your life, if that ball had fallen to you in that position I would have put money on you scoring."

Believable2 Unbelievable2

It's one of them things it happens to all players good and bad. Ronaldo missed one from 2 yards out. It happens to all strikers. I have a feeling given another chance Varney will score and score plentiful.

Hall was cup tied. DIOUFF was world class. If we go to Wembley we need a banner with him winking at the fans.

No Hall was cup tied and not eligible... We played so much better tonite and was so creative... Varney had a blinding game and if he keeps playing like that he will be loved at ER... Although Mr Varney dont be missing 1 yard chances please... lol

Varney this, varney that. Give the lad a break, you listen on the radio and they make him out to be rubbish. If you attended the game and watched him play tonight, he was one of many Leeds players that played well tonight. Yes he needs to prove himself infront of goal but give him Chance in that role. He will improve, MOT

I agree, its a shame he didn't get one tonight but i hope he plays up front on Friday, he will come good.

Ive said on another site i'd like to see varney replace Becchio, a much faster and more skillful player and wins as many headers. Watch Warnock bring Becchio back Friday and revert back to hoofball.

Neil warnock said last year you won't see Leeds play this badly next year - wrong. His Leeds are doing worse. Stop worshipping the blOke, stop saying mighty Leeds and all that rubbish when the team is losing to bottom of the table teams. I for one order to win. War oak had the chance to buy players and he mainly bought rubbish. So you don't get behind a manager that has spent money but is doing worse and you don't get behind a team that are losing. You say get your bloody act together, play good football and win or f... Off. No excuses.
I'm a Leeds fan who likes to win aNd be successful!

Believable2 Unbelievable13

Do you expect the team to win every week with the amount of money given to NW? He has had to get rid of some deadwood (Pugh,Paynter,Bruce etc) and bring in people on a shoestring compared to other teams in this league. Money talks I'm afraid and teams like Leicester and Cardiff prove this. They have big, expensive squads wheras we have a small relatively cheap squad. It's gonna be a scrap until January, then fingers crossed we get some extra bodies in. So long as we can stay in touch until then we will have as good a chance of promotion as many other teams in this highly competitive league

Agree2 Disagree3

With the money he has spent and the position we are in im happy and im also a leeds fan who likes to win but im also a realist and know we cant win them all... are you an armchair supporter by anychance ?

Think it's absolutely appalling with those shirts being printed, that basically glorify the attack on Chris Kirkland the other week. What depths do people sink to now? Alright theres the whole dirty Leeds banter, that is from activities on the pitch! There is never an excuse for common assault as part of a sporting event, from the fans! I'm glad 99.9% of Leeds fans will agree with me. It needs kicking out of our sport!

we urgently need cash injection, and if this season or next we get promoted,we need virtually a new team or we will get beat heavily every week

Believable3 Unbelievable2

What do you mean exactly by heavily?! We are 8/9 games in and are in the top half of table. I would agree, as everybody does that we need strengthening. 2/3 quality signings in mf and wing, with pace. Then we are threatening top 2 places. Not a complete new team, no need in this division.

so far this season warnock is 2 points behind where we was last season under grayson and as spent more money already than grayson did at leeds.

Believable4 Unbelievable12

If you love grayson so much go support hudders!!

Agree8 Disagree5

The whole idea of sacking grayson and bringing in warnock was to do better but i dont see much change other than we score less goals but still let as many in .i dont love grayson at all but he will end up with more promotions than warnock he is a better manager attacking wise .

Agree6 Disagree3

2nd poster - do you not think you might be missing the point of the first poster's comment? The last manager was sacked in order to improve the team's chances of promotion yet we've performed less well under Warnock. It doesn't really matter who managed us last season, the point is that we haven't improved at all under the current manager.

I wish people would shut up about Grayson as well, he's history, but there is a lot of blind loyalty to Warnock on this site which, given the results of the past 10 months, the quality of the players he's brought in and the awful style and standard of our play is, in my opinion, very odd. I like Warnock's refreshing honesty and he seems like a decent enough bloke but I hate the way his teams play and it's not getting us results either.

I think most of us would agree that there are lots of managers better than Warnock - doesn't mean we're all going to go support another team. The 'why don't you support 'Udders' response is just immature and shows an unwillingness to enter into rational debate which is what a site like this should be about. Reasoned arguments not insults; considered responses not pointless remarks.

We need to start asking questions about whether Warnock and his hoof ball is the right way forward. If he gets cash from the investors will he just spend it all on another bunch of 'experienced, solid' (read ageing, muscular but uncreative) journeymen. Warnock spent quite a lot of money pre-season, certainly by our standards, mainly on second rate players he's had in the past. We're no better than we were and probably a little bit worse. What has he actually achieved?

In my view we need a new manager and I don't think I'm the only one who thinks that.

Agree8 Disagree3

Name one that is a better manager than Warnock at getting promotions then?

Agree3 Disagree2

You are in a minority, warnock is here to do a job, which he will do, we dont need persons saying sack him just because we dont play pretty football, you negative p****s really annoy me

Agree2 Disagree2

5 agrees vs 1 disagree, not sure I am in a minority. In any case the majority isn't always right - more people read the Sun than the Guardian - doesn't mean it's a better newspaper.

Warnock's also had a lot of relegations - note to the other poster on here - and relative to the length of his career (22 years) several managers have a better ratio of promotions to years in management. More importantly his recent record, other than QPR, isn't great. The bulk of his promotions were 18+ years ago and that's my point. Football has moved on in the last 20 years, Warnock's hoof ball hasn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

Howard Wilkinson - he's been there and done it

I have three hopes for tomorrow night.
FIRST Forget the Sheff Wed thing and return to being the best crowd in the championship no place like ER when the noise is turned up to full volume.
SECOND. We play the same as we did against Everton without fear win lose or draw the team enjoy it.
THIRD BEFORE THE KICK OFF TOMORROW GFH ARE ANNOUNCED AS THE NEW OWNERS.
Okay Im asking for a lot and not everyone believes in father xmas I just want the fat guy with the white beard that comes to ER more than once a year to stop.
If I cant have all three can I at least have the atmosphere back??

Believable14 Unbelievable0

I fear the atmosphere will only come back when Bates leaves and people will find the motivation to part with their cash again. That man has sucked so much enthusiasm out of the club, its unreal. I can't say I blame someone who maybe on an average wage to pay premier league prices to watch very average footy at times. Exciting times ahead though!
