End of year thoughts:
Followed this site for years, but felt compelled to post when I saw this expected goals table from experimental 361 (similar to opta)
expected-goals-table
This shows the league table based on expected goals scored
As you would expect Leeds do well (+15 points) as we have not been scoring as often as we should have for all the reasons posted here over the season. Also West Brom do badly ( -16 points ) as they are so often LUCKY
MOT
If only this was the real table, but gives us hope that the next half of the season will be good based on out first half performance, unlike last season when at this stage, I feel we had to a certain extent been lucky and were not playing as well as this season.

Interesting post SP great to have a few new posters of lates provides a a much welcome different perspective and is something I hope continues as the norm in 2020, whether youâve been in the Site for ten minutes or ten months your past is every bit as valid. So come on if youâre watching not posting take the leap itâs easy to do and whatâs the worst that can happen!
Thanks again to all the Edâs in particular Ed01 whom despite his own teams struggles (tongue firmly in cheek! ) is always fair, reasoned and positive towards our mighty whites. This IS OUR YEAR #getpromotiondone.
{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, it is not an easy time for us Reds, I am sure you all feel for us!!
Happy New Year!}
31 Dec 2019 21:42:06

Happy New Year to all my buddies and family on here. Thanks for another year of intelligent debate, opinions and thoughts. Love it on here and you keep me company daily and keep me sane when nobody else can. Posters keep on posting, lurkers keep on reading (and say hello - always good to hear a fresh voice) Edâs keep up the good work. Hereâs to a successful 2020. Up the Leeds, down the new year pints, the futureâs White White White. #LAGU.

Leeds Player Sightings page entitled, Get Ready!

Realistically. sorry brethren
canât see JC being replaced apart from an u23 ( Stevens at a guess ) moving up
We do need a replacement for Eddie ( I too worry he will join a rival and hit a rich vein)
Canât see us spending money so itâs a loan deal. So youâre looking at who isnât playing and on not much money
Canât see a CB arriving at all. MB feels we have cover there already
Can see a 2 month loan deal for a GK. donât think high wage premiership, think experience. Forest have about 5 keepers, so many I canât remember who is there
Midfield, again, canât see us spending, the hope will be those still standing stay fit and Forshaw walks again
Itâs not in MBâs nature to have an overloaded squad
The only bright spot is the experience from last season and not having the Blades breathing down our necks
Someone from the pack will go on a run
All teams will drop points
I just hope we have enough in the tank to get over the line
Signing players in January does not always guarantee success
Staying together and digging out results does
MOT.
31 Dec 2019 15:51:48
Totally agree OW.
We may get some loans deals in but I'd be amazed if we get a better centre back or striker in, as they'd be sat on the bench waiting for an injury!
31 Dec 2019 17:01:29
Looks like we will have to bring another GK in for a time, Would play Miesler against Arsenal see how he does otherwise no idea whoâs available and fairly decent to do job for us.
Defo need to bring in someone whoâs a game winner and commands the midfield.
Sheffield United had the sense to do this in the Jan window last season when they signed Norwood for free. He gave them goals and assists with the added experience a player like him provides. IMO he helped them massively sustain their solid run of form during the second half of the season.
Itâs sensible, tough league, long season, small squad, failure to strengthen in January cost us last season.
I know this wonât go down well but I see Pablo is not the same level of player he was last season. He drifts out of the game for longer this term and struggles to go the full ninety. I would use him sparingly as impact player, I agree with whatâs been said before about needing to find replacement for him which we should have done when Siaz left because he was Like PH.
Just an opinion.
Donât get me wrong, I never imagined we could pick up the pieces from last season and go again like we have. Amazing, keeping everything crossed for a good win tomorrow đ.

If you haven't already seen the cover of the latest Squareball mag I have uploaded a copy to the Leeds Sightings page - awesome memories for Street Fighter II fans.
31 Dec 2019 12:27:54
Phil hay stating that Che is our number one target. don't want just a target, I want a signing in the next 72 hours!
31 Dec 2019 12:44:35
I suspect that means Eddie is orf.
31 Dec 2019 14:51:53
Brightwhite Che not coming to Leeds heâs staying put.
31 Dec 2019 19:10:43
Whitey I beg to differ.
31 Dec 2019 21:18:56
George, have it from a Saint they should know but we will see.
31 Dec 2019 05:14:54
Ok so a new year and another January transfer window to navigate or not!
Firstly- how many do u think we will get in and which players.
Secondly- if u had a wish list, which positions and players you'd want.
I think just 2 in and be striker and winger. Think it may be Ayew or Vydra, Che Adams has started last 3 games, so not going to happen ( maybe Long instead) ?
My wish list would be 3 in, feel we need striker and creativiei Mf then either? GK or tall CB
GK be Gunn and Ayala for CB
Then I'd go for any of these- Eze, Bowen, Ayew, Foden, Giroud, Vydra, Long.
Nice to dream for a month though, hope Radrizzani and co have learnt and they inform us of investment from Qsi
Happy new year, let's hope 2020 is our year.
31 Dec 2019 08:50:47
CB with some size and aerial ability, striker and creative mid - pretty much the same as you Melbourne.
31 Dec 2019 09:58:59
Centre half, but not expecting anything else. Would love a proven striker but will probably be linked to dozens of players and sign maybe one on loan if lucky just before the deadline. Hope radzs and Orta have learnt lessons from last seasons failure.
31 Dec 2019 10:49:35
Foden on my wishlist, if Eddie leaves we may loan 1, try Man City for a loan or two as MB plays Harrison constantly, other managers may not be too trusting off the great man giving there players game time, still think we will sign no one.
31 Dec 2019 11:31:29
Defo donât think we will see a CB or GK, not that I wouldnât want both.
Donât think we will bring in another winger either.
Have been saying for a long time that we need a creative mid to support Pabs. That would be my priority.
If Eddie is going, Iâm going to be positive and assume we have a replacement lined up, and agree, it will be Ayew, or Vydra on loan to buy.
31 Dec 2019 11:44:41
Complete spine for me.
Keeper, CB, creative mid and striker.
Will probably only get a loaner bench warming striker though to replace Eddie.
31 Dec 2019 12:25:04
Can see a Clarke replacement coming in.
31 Dec 2019 13:47:24
If the board are serious and letâs face its MBâs last hurrah at promotion so they should be it has to be the following -
Goalkeeper to cover Kiko ban
Centre back - tall and commanding ( wonât happen but should ! )
Central midfielder to cover Forshaw ( essential but wonât happen )
Striker to replace Eddie
No need to replace Clarke ( JH, Costa, Pablo, Ali, Dallas, Stevens )
Chosen wisely and they get the prem riches .
31 Dec 2019 15:25:11
I suspect we will sign an experienced goalkeeper for Kiko's likely upcoming suspension
And a striker but will he be any good and will Bielsa play him?
Really we need a tall commanding central defender and central defensive midfielder too.
