When reviewing all the other signings moving tonight 'Rhodes' is the only one I would have added for a perfect window. Just have to wrap Wood in cotton wool but feel Roofe could score centrally of Wood. Barrow looks excellent, very dynamic and we are certainly blessed with pace in abundance now. Have a feeling Charlie's Achilles may have a Lazarus moment once window us closed so 8.5/10 for me πŸ˜€.

Yes I think Charlie playing tonight unless 'it just needs a few more days' for appearances sake.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2017 06:42:04
I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Charlie again - smells like a pre contract agreement and his agent has probably told him to feign injury so he doesn't wreck a summer move.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Feb 2017 09:21:55
Not sure Alf, think Charlie has not been advised very well by his Agent, no surprise there! Am thinking Monkey and especially MC will make it very well known if he is fit and yet says he's not available for selection.

Therefore, (glass three quarters full) the best club Charlie can get for himself is by returning and playing to the very high standards which we all know him to be capable of? I mean whoever heard of a footballer going on strike ! 😜.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2017 10:58:00
Interesting to note in all our comments about this that nobody is suggesting he actually has an Achilles problem !

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 22:36:01
Anyway now we have both Barrow & Sacko, if any of our players need carrying we'll be o.k! πŸ˜€

Believable2 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2017 22:40:07
If nothing else, their presence will give the team a lift lol.

Something to build on.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 22:32:37
Agent Mowatt sent off and Agent Lees gave away a penalty. Keep up the good work fellas!

31 Jan 2017 21:51:23
Just seen on leeds snapchat, no more signings tonight.

I personally things the signings of Barrow and Pedraza are bithe excellent additions to the team, both great dribblers with great pace.

However, I think we have to many loan players in our first team, Bartley, Jansson, Sacko and now Barrow and Pedraza. I would prefer to have them permanently

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2017 22:35:09
Certainly gives us a few more options, certainly looking forward to next few games MOT. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 21:35:45
well few grumbling fans moaning about lack of movement etc. i think we had a good window in the end (never moan before the fat lady sings) hernadez, some spanish bloke who looks fast as, but final ball might be poor but stats are good and barrow who has always really excited me and i think will distory this league.

Also jansson looks set to sign as soon as loan deal ends. also mowatt who decent lad/player but we have out grown. well done monk well done mc well done rad, over all one very pleased leeds fan, also taylor looks like he is staying MOT.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

31 Jan 2017 22:10:32
Have to agree Bermo From what I've seen both wingers have pace to burn just not sure of their goal threat or even final cross. Hope that Garry and the team can work on that. If so then we have done good. Can't wait for church on Sunday I need to say a few prayers that Wood does not dry up or get injured. Might even light a candle.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 22:12:12
Pleased with the business conducted during the transfer window but would have liked another centre half for cover as Cooper is a concern as back up.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 22:20:31
Don't forget Keane's still a free agent. He'd be an excellent player to sign on a six month contract and come on as sub to rip through the oppositions defence.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 22:21:28
This has been a really positive window in the end. Well done to all concerned.

got to be, they wouldn't put if it wasnt.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 22:32:31
They put a question mark on there too - thought it might be a 'or is it? ' Moment?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 22:41:32
It was an exclamation mark! Or was it?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 21:13:02
Should we be concerned that we have so many loan players? if we go up then I'm guessing we would sign most of them. if we don't we will loose a lot of the team and will need to start again next season. should we be worried.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2017 21:41:33
I am always worried - it's part and parcel of being Leeds πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 22:13:04
How many players have we not bought on an initial loan?

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2017 06:49:47
Leodis, well bartley, barrow, that Spanish kid is only a perm if we go up, sakho. so most of them!

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 20:57:12
Barrow signed, we got loads of wingers now. Will Sacko still play?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2017 22:14:23
Looks like goodbye to The Douk and Sakho ?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 21:57:51
sacko will but think douks leeds days are numbered, also think roofe will be more impact player now or play more central to rest pablo.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 21:24:25
Good move, loads of wingers to put crosses in. And if we lose wood. No strikers to score. WTF.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2017 21:38:01
Apparently the Villarreal man can play all three positions in the front line. If true, a very versatile player to have. MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 21:59:19
so can roofe so can barrow so can douk, we signed three quality attacking midfielders, kept wood, kept talyor kept veria, we are fouth, doing really well and some still moaning they for real?

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 21:00:09
Oh dear poor Mr mowat sent off on his Barnsley debut.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2017 20:54:38
Perhaps bringing in the wingers is so we can move Douks and Roofe into a more central role or as back up striker for woody ? Thoughts?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2017 21:32:34
Roofe to small and douk not good enough to play lone striker role!

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 21:45:51
Roofe too small ? Don't think that's an issue, how tall do you need to be?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 22:19:54
Roofe is taller than Michael Owen - didn't stop him from scoringπŸ™„.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 22:00:31
agree roofe not to small if playing good football to feet which looks like the plan, douk not good enough but offers soemthing from bench.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 20:47:17
So two new wingers. any more?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2017 20:51:09
Barrow signed on loan from Swansea. Wow, we're starting to look stronger

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Wednesday buying Rhodes to stay in play offs and a chance at promotion which gives them endless riches we have 1 striker of note. No back up if he's gets crocked. We are hoping to get in play offs. Instead of investing now and guaranteeing it. Personally, I think the lack of signings in this window will cost us. Hope I'm wrong. But very concerned.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

31 Jan 2017 19:54:42
The teams around us and the ones hoping to gatecrash are investing heavily but we know that does not guarantee anything. It seems odd that we had no serious 2nd choice to Fletcher considering we don't have to commit to anything longer than a half season loan. There seems to be some decent players moving that you imagine could have been useful to us. I think Hourihane would have been a decent shout although strangely not bothered about Hogan or Rhodes. Bradley Dack i feel would be good but i can't see us committing that kind of wonga at this stage. I think it would take a min of 3.5m and i can't see the Gills being interested in a loan to buy. Very happy with Pedraza but he will have to hit the ground running because he will be gone if we don't go up you would imagine.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 20:12:36
Hey guys. Been reading for years, but decided to throw my fifty pence head in. I know we need reinforcements in some key areas, but there have been some big numbers thrown around for some players, which proves that Jan is not a good time to be buying. Plus, my gut feel is that Reading, for example, (I hope) , have brought in numbers that will upset the squad? Very difficult to take a team forward that has done well, and then throw four more in the mix at the halfway point?

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Jan 2017 18:59:25
Time for 44 to return home , think we are now the club you fell in love with. Plus Cellino already knows which palms to grease to make this happen.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

31 Jan 2017 18:55:10
Bolton reported to have accepted florists bid of 2.5m for Zak Clough, def worth a punt at that price.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2017 20:17:06

Believable3 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2017 17:18:42
Rashford or Bogle?
For me Bogle is not a proven package at this level but will be more willing to wait and grab his chance whereas Rashford, altho experienced at a higher level would be wanting game time immediately (his manager would try to demand it to some level) . His goals per minute ratio is also not exciting then again then again, like Bogle are we buying potential as well as instant cover.

For me I would plump for Bogle as a stronger/cheaper long tem gamble. Knowing MC we will plump for neither or recruit some unknown serie B striker who is even cheaper.
Q what is Avennatti doing?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

31 Jan 2017 17:35:22
When did Rashford come in to the equation?

Lucas πŸ˜‚.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 17:52:17
do you mean rashford as in man u sensation Marcus rashford? if so he is amazing would be the messi of the league but would never drop man u play him and about 100 better clubs than leeds would want him? i don't know about bougle, one thing to all the douk fans, we got a winger which now means douk can become support striker in back up to wood, so is douk good enough for this? if we get a striker do we need douk at all? i am not against getting a striker in but do think it will be a little harsh on the average but hard working douk.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 19:07:46
BW, if this young Alf hits the ground running then I'd favour the Douke coming on as a sub drifting in from the left. More effective as an impact sub IMO.

31 Jan 2017 15:37:42
I bet pedraza is sat in cellino's office waiting for the big man to sign his end of the deal but he's just asking why should he sign it and if he ever says he loves Leeds more than him he will end up like benedicic. non existent, "injured" career ruined, getting released by fleetwood or some other shitters

Agree with Aussie. Makes a change from the Ridsdale era of the January sale bargains. Also reminds me of what Mrs Lucas was saying to me on Saturday night when we were down the local fine ale establishment 'you can look but don't touch. ' If only our finest Jimmy Saville had a wife like mine. She has to tie me up sometimes and whip me when I'm a very naughty boy.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 12:34:50
Matty Taylor from Bristol Rovers available for Β£300k. 16 goals this season, 26 last year. Surely worth a punt?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2017 13:39:16
Think we are at the point where anythings worth a punt.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 13:45:32
No more or less of a punt than fletcher.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 11:34:28
If the Fletcher deal is reliant on Scott Hogans move to west ham and that doesn't happen would anyone take McCormack on loan for the rest of the season? I understand it may not be the most popular suggestion ever but he is quality at this level and would take a lot of strain off wood's shoulders.

McCormack (preferably flecter) Pedraza some defensive cover. is hobbs still at forest? Maybe that young RB from Sweden although wouldn't loose any sleep. and get Pontus signed and I think that'd be enough back up to support our promotion push.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

31 Jan 2017 11:57:45
Not McCormack ! ! ! idle sod can't even turn up for training, and if he can't get over his garden fence (which Steve Bruce managed with ease) then surely he's hardly fit enough to play in the Championship.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 12:00:05
Agree with all, who else loves a deadline?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 12:02:39
That all sounds like a busy few hours.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 12:28:28
Wouldn't have the badgekisser back for free. He's not the striker I fell in love with.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 13:30:33
It's difficult to see what's available in the market even flecter was a gamble in my opinion, quality wise we need somebody capable of backing Chris Wood up who can score goals at this level, somebody in David nugents sort of category who doesn't mind coming off the bench. even Robbie Keane has crossed my mind. other than that we might as well gamble on antonson coming good, he did show glimpses at the start of the season and hasn't really been given the opportunity. whatever happens must happen quickly cause bilic has already said flecter is going nowhere, surely monk and the board haven't putt all their eggs in one basket. I for one will be disappointed if they have.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 13:43:02
You fall in love with everybody grip. He must be bad if yiu don't want him.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 10:01:35
Looks like Ashley Fletcher will be staying at west ham now Aston Villa are close to signing Hogan. The situation with Leonardo Ulloa is interesting as he won't play for Ranieri again and Claudio is not willing to let him go to a rival premiership team this season so there's a great opportunity for us to offer him a way out on loan with a view to a contract if we get promotion. What do we think? M.O.T

Believable2 Unbelievable1

31 Jan 2017 11:33:49

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 06:31:35
I know I'm a bit late here ( my ship's internet was down) but what I do not understand is why Monk tried to beat Oxford in FA Cup 3R, but had no interest v Sutton in 4R. Surely a decent team and we would have had a win and then a big payday v Arsenal. If the FA cup is so unappealing, why try to lose the 4R when we could have easily lost the 3R, but instead tried to and indeed did, win?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2017 09:21:17

3g pitch enough said I think, way too dangerous to commit your better players when the promised land is on the horizon.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 12:24:11
Would think 3G pitch was in his mind but all train at thorpe arch in bad weather on a plastic pitch. Sure they don't just walk about.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 15:03:05
Probably not but I'd imagine they would fully commit to strong tackling and diving headers. Or it might be like the walking football that people do of a certain age ;) )

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 00:21:01
Well whatever happens today or doesn't happen ( I suspect) , I think it's pathetic backing for Monky that we are scrabbling round trying to buy someone as the deadline hours tick down. Clearly has been no contingency plan in place for us to get promoted this season. He won't be here at the start of next season if he doesn't get better support in the summer.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

31 Jan 2017 06:50:53
I agree about signings. Maybe if we were 7th or 8th they would have shown mire urgency. I think it is a mistake to think we are safe in playoffs without strengthening. don't think monk will go even if not promoted this year. I expect he will want another go next year.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 07:36:09
Think you're wrong mate Monk has got us playing football and looking hungry again. So easy to criticise 18 games away from a possible promotion spot (or should I say 21 because we know how it's going to go)

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 08:23:59
There's no criticism of Monk. He's doing a brilliant job and got us into a position that's far exceeded my expectations. My point is that it looks like ( we don't know of course) that Mowatt has been sold against his wishes, and they haven't managed to bring in the backup he's asked for. And by the way, does anyone else think that Charlie Taylor's achilles may suddenly improve tomorrow. Definitely something suspect going on there.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2017 12:32:50
Agree speedy. Disappointed at the moment we have not added to squad. Always linked with players we don't get. Winger pedraza seems ok but a bit more was needed for final push. Sure we will make play offs but a couple of injuries or suspensions and we are in trouble. If we do not go up and do not invest sure some clubs will be looking at Monk favourably. Up to AR and MC to show us what the plan is now, think we may lose more than Monk if we are still in championship next season and board don't give out a transfer budget.

Agree0 Disagree0
