Good to see Bobby Kamwa stepping up to U23s. Leading the line and scoring as well. One for the future.

Tadcaster 1-6 Lees U23s played some great football if the first team plays like this will be happy. One touch football on the front foot all game. Some big lads in their team as well. KunT on the scoresheet. Woolerton had a great game.

I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome back the Mad one and say well done for convincing the probation team that he deserves to be let out on good behaviour. Are the rumours true MM, did you really do that to your SIL? In your cellar whilst your wife was upstairs?

whispers of possible approach for Maddison with suggestion it could be Leeds. I really hope this is true, feel we need him or possibly Ryan Woods from Brentford as the jigsaw puzzle isn’t complete. We’ve done some good signings this window but not finished.

Sad about RV, should have been a loan if anything. There are other players on our books who should be shown the door.

Just calculated that I reckon out off the 24 league teams only 5/ 6 have not been
In the premiership. In my opinion this season is going to be one of the hardest and every game will be tight and no certainties any week. Seen a poll on sky app that they have stoke too finish top. And us too finish 8th. ? Saying that they have Brentford too finish 3rd. So not sure who was voting.
But all bodes well to an exciting but very nervous and season.

Just when I thought Joey Barton couldn't be any more of a c*ck womble, he says that he has never heard of Laurens de Boc (linked with Fleetwood) . OK, many of us had never heard of him before we signed him last season and whilst I wouldn't expect Barton to know of every player, the fact he has Lewie Coyle on loan from us, might have told him to show a bit of respect! Maybe he should spend less time trying to come across as some sort of intellectual on Twitter and try Googling the player and keeping his trap shut, so not to offend the team who've loaned him arguably the best full back in Div 1. If I were Radz I'd recall Coyle and stick one on Barton for good measure. No respect!

I think the all the recruits this year will improve the squad/ team. Let's be honest last season we had strikers who couldn't score, wingers who couldn't cross, midfielders who couldn't pass and defenders who couldn't head. The recruits improve that unless of course Orta is determined to bring back Pennington. Then 'all' would change to 'most'.

Bamford 11 vials in 39 appearances and 1 assist. he’ll if a gamble for the money to me. bet Roofe has better stats from last season and played in a worse team if we are honest.

Agree1 Disagree5

31 Jul 2018 20:29:30
Alaw Patrick Bamford has started 73 games in the championship and scored 38 goals, Jemar has started 55 games for Leeds in the league and scored 14 goals, whilst I like Roofe, his stats don’t compare to Bamford! In fact his goals per games started compare favourably with Vydra and Hernandez he betters for a lot less money, so in my opinion no more of a gamble than those 2 as well . MOT ROLL ON STOKE .

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 21:34:54
Last season they are very similar, Bamford started the championship well but hasn’t progressed at all, he’s a huge gamble at a possible 10 mil.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Jul 2018 22:21:34
Not sure about last season, but at least we’re gambling on better players than some of the ones we’ve been so busy off loading . Sacko, Ekuban, Antonsson, Cibicki, Okane, etc Keep, the faith, as with gambling you win or lose, but enjoy the ride, nothing’s guaranteed otherwise this promotion lark would be a doddle . Where’s the fun in that .

I can't believe how long it takes us to get a transfer over the line. Are they printing the feckin contract with potato shapes or Alphabetti spaghetti? In the time we've been wooing Bamford, Hadi Sako has packed his locker, had a night out with the lads, walked to Spain, had a medical, signed contract and scored on his debut (haha, just kidding with that last bit) !

Come on Leeds crack on!

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 20:24:51
Time will tell if he’s a striker .11 last season, not what I class as a striker, gone from vydra and Hernandez to him, piss poor imo. Roofe got more and he’s average at best on a good day. can’t tell me you don’t think we need a proper number 9,a proper centre back, a proper winger and someone to replace viera, squad is short all over, in physicality, pace and leaders. we will be in for a long season with the current squad. def need at least 3 quality signings.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Jul 2018 15:53:47
M b -still clearing the decks then I do wonder what position this puts Orta in as they are all his signings .
Hopefully A R will realise that this guy is a much use as a chocolate fire guard and send him on his way as well.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

31 Jul 2018 16:37:07
Probably won't as he will be behind the return of the dreadful Pennington. Credit where credit is due, I am not sure that Bielsa would have known much about Douglas and he was a steal at £3m.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 14:42:17
Im sorry but how can people call bamford a gamble, we are used to signing Grot and ekuban. i think we need to start been a little positive, we have signed 4 good champ players, maybe take harrison out of that but comes with great recommendation. I don't doubt for a second we need a few more but the team has massively improved with english players who understand the league compared to last season. let's be more positive and get behind the team next year, as i think under biesla we are looking much better team with a much better manager. Good Team on paper doesn't mean S**T in this league its who wants it more and a formation/ tactics which work. no one knows how this season will go so why not be positve and get behind them. I honestly think we will win on Saturday.

We will never know how RV would have developed and prospered in a team with better players around him. It seems to be our policy to sell promising youth. Very disappointed because I think Bielsa will only be here short term.

Believable5 Unbelievable6

31 Jul 2018 10:00:24
We are paying a lot of money for this coach, it’s not worth it if we don’t give him some, time, patience and trust. If he wanted Viera to stay, I think he would have handled it differently. I think Viera had looked at how he thought the season would pan out for him and decided to leave and get some good experience abroad. Good luck to him. If the fee is invested wisely, it could buy a player who will make a big difference this year and Viera wasn’t going to.

Agree6 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 10:01:01
You say we will never know how he would be around better players, he is the worst player in our side. if you said let's see how saiz develops in a team with better players then that's more like it.

Agree3 Disagree4

31 Jul 2018 10:10:46
Sampdoria put a bid in for him. They asked if he was interested he obviously said yes. Now i agree with Bielsas philosophy, if they want to leave let them. If they prefer to play somewhere else get the best price you can for them. Yes he is talented but as i mentioned before he did not improve much last season. He may go on to be world class but he is no where near that yet or other clubs would have been in for him. Too many times you see talented young ones who do not progress, Mowatt Dawson etc. I think Sampdoria have been brave to pay the 7 mill for the potential he may have. Yes would have liked to see if he progressed here but would he have got the playing time. Yes i rated the kid but not upset he has gone as he wanted to, good luck to him and i hope he rips it up in Italy.

I'm not disappointed to see Viera go - he obviously fancied the move and although he had potential he wasn't really doing it for us so sell and get someone who will - he might be great in 5 yrs time but that's a long time to wait for a player to mature - if he does.

Agree3 Disagree1

31 Jul 2018 13:26:59
why did we need to sell at all? its not like we have spent the proposed £20m budget we had at the start of the window on Douglas and a few loanees is it? RV is only 20 and has loads of development left - even if he is not in the 1st team now he can still develop and a loan would have allowed him to do that if Bielsa doesn't fancy him. i think we will regret selling one of England's hottest prospects in years to come.

31 Jul 2018 14:46:38
Any one on here remember John Sheridan? At the time he was a God to most Leeds fans. However, Howzrd Wilkinson sold him and bought Vinnie Jones in his place. At best a journeyman footballer.

The result was Leeds Utd got promoted as champions

Then sold Vinnie (a brilliant footballer to be in the trenchs with) and bought a new God called Gary McAllister

Just saying.

31 Jul 2018 15:29:42
oh and I forgot the midfielder Baker

why oh why we were looking at a goalscoring midfielder when we leaked so many goals in the other end was beyond me anyway, and had no one to put them in at the right end was beyond me anyway

No wonder, from reports on this site, that Saiz is looking a bit halfhearted in pre season. Would you give it all in the knowledge that some other bloke is coming in in a couple of weeks to take your spot? Get injured for Leeds in meaningless friendly and scupper the chance of a decent transfer?

Saiz is bloody good. can't see why he can't be better than Vydra

Show him some love

At his age I did much worse than spit at someone. Not condoning it but for Christ sake get off your high horses. Give a YOUNG man a second chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 18:02:21
Axe, couldn't care less about the spitting. It happened, he was punished. It's in the past. The only thing that concerns me is how did he play in the las few games and how will he fare in the next and the next. If he doesn't shape up he deserves to be dropped. The ethic of a good pro is that there will always be someone wanting your shirt. It's up to you to play so well that the boss cannot drop you. If you go off the boil or sulk you are giving him no other choice.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 18:31:40
Saiz young? He was 26 when we took him from the Spanish 2nd division, if he's so brilliant (and I agree that he is, on his day) how come he came here and not La Liga, PL, or some other top league? I'm more than satisfied that he's staying but he has to want to.

31 Jul 2018 09:25:21
I know its sad to see Vieira go but i think if we are honest, he is not good enough if we are wanting to get up to the premier league. I don't even see the potential to become a prem player in him, i see him how we saw Mowatt. We all wanted them to become world class but just weren't good enough. and i think 7m is a lot of money for him, like the comment below would we be happy spending 7m if we bought him, no way. I wish him luck but i think its a great bit of business personally.

I am excited for Sunday now, i feel the squad is coming together now some really good additions.

I think we will win on Sunday, 3-1.

Agree1 Disagree2

31 Jul 2018 11:42:57
I would be very presently surprised if we won 3-1 in Sunday! I think we need to be patient in the first few months of the season. New coach, new players, new system! There will be some mistakes and some tears I suspect in trying to get it all right. I never predict defeats, so I’m just not going to say anything and hope to see a good performance with signs of a team gelling and playing attacking football!

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 12:19:58
I think we will get beat Sunday, be surprised if jansson, Douglas or Bamford play. with the exception of Douglas the signings so far are gambles, not what we were told we would be getting from Angus K. unless 2 or 3 proven championship players arrive before deadline day this squad will really struggle, that’s a fact. it’s very lightweight and nowhere near enough pace or creativity in it.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 15:09:27
At the start of the transfer window we were linked with the forward Henandez. The midfielder Vydra. The leftback Bryan

We have bought the forward Bamford. We have bought the leftback Douglas.

Got to say Mr Radz. personally, thank you. I have always rated Bamford. If we had never been linked with Henandez i would have been overjoyed with buying Bamford. The fact we might have had a South American internafional does temper it slightly but at least Bamford isn't on the sickbed when Championship football is on offer. AND HE SCORED MORE THAN HENANDEZ LAST YEAR

If i am honest Douglas has been a bit under the radar for me. Byran plays for a team who we could possibly buy from. I didn't think we had a chance with Wolves. So i did watch some Bristol City games just to observe him and Flint. However, what excellent stats (and as for a slow left back. hello. Ian Harte anyone. he made an excellent career whilst been allegedly slow)

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Jul 2018 07:37:25
I like RV but to be honest if it was Leeds bidding 7m for him I would be saying we could get more experience for less money We all get a little precious about our home grown stars but the truth is they will never blossom in a struggling team which is what we have been for a few years now. Add to that their heads being turned by agents and seeing their mates go off to the Prem and earn a fortune and you can see why they leave.
RV doesn't fit into MB's plans which while it is a shame to get 7 m is great business. To get out of this division requires experience and consistency something our youngsters don't have and will only get by playing. We could play them all but we would never get anywhere and then they would leave anyway like Bryan, Cook, Taylor, Delph and so on.
The model for getting out of this league seems to be 4 or 5 decent loans from the prem or abroad and spend once you reach the promised land.
In my opinion we still have too many average players in the first team set up but I do like the fact that MB is bringing in British players and slowly but surely is making his mark. I am going for a steady start to the season, picking up around Xmas and a top 6 finish as MB's influence grows. MOT.
