Dear Mr GFHC directors,

I would also like to tender my application for the job replacing Neil.

I know a good bit about football.

1. It is round.
2. It rolls if you kick it
(It gets more complicatedd from here)
3. It's best stuffed in the opposition goals because everyone starts cheerin at the Leeds KOP end.
4. It's best not allowed in our goal because then everyone hates the players and potentially me as the manager.
5. It takes a good bit of skills, speed and ability among the players and a reasonably structured game plan, matched with flexible tactics and capability to adopt a variety of modes of play to win matches. That and damn hard effort worthy of dyin' for the white shirt on me back.

Many people think these facts were lost on the previous incumbents. I would bear this in mind.

I can confirm I have not done a straight arm salute at any point in football (or any other) career. I have never been sacked. I have not had affairs, been charged with affray or published tell all books that p!$$ off the dressing room. I have also never mortgaged the future buying Donkeys from Derby or codges from Liverpool with or without their zimmer frames.

My wife of 25 years can also confirm that I am not past my prime. except perhaps on saturdays which is also bath night and when I tend to fall asleep on the sofa after suppin several tinnies while watchin' Match of the Day.

But that's OK. "no one is perfic".

I can be there on Monday. {Ed013's Note - {Sorry we need someone to start tomorrow}

Believable13 Unbelievable0

I would do job for £30000 a year company car but I only want to work match days so I can play golf the other days I can offer years of watching leeds so I know what the supporters want ed I am doing nothing this sat so I can start then as long a I can get a refund on my train ticket or should I just turn up and meet the lads down there

I'm so pleased warnock has gone, he's so full of s£!t I can smell it thru my screen. why is he sayin useless can come and ruin his leeds team. the team he built that cannot win a game, good riddance I say and hopefully redfearn can pick up a few points

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Does anyone know what time the leeds team coach will arrive at the valley apron on Saturday?

Agree0 Disagree2

Warnock has got to be up there with the worst managers are club has ever had can only think of one worse manager but his name isn't worth mentioning for all sorts of reasons!

Agree5 Disagree5

It depends on what time the half past nine bus leaves Elland Rd.

Sorry couldn't resist :p

Agree0 Disagree0

"Does anyone know what time the leeds team coach will arrive at the valley apron on Saturday?"

What time can you make it mate, and will you be bringing your own kit?

Ps, can you bring a friend we may also need a new goalie after last week?

Agree0 Disagree0

For me, Warnock is the worst followed by Wise. Third place would be Vegetables.

Bloody hell, so glad di canio has not come to Leeds, he's a nightmare, it's like employing Mussolini!

Believable11 Unbelievable7

03 Apr 2013 22:30:04
He may seem a nightmare but he is a bloody passionate nightmare, I would have him here anytime!

Agree15 Disagree7

Agree 100% - Love him or not - I for one would love someone with his passion in charge

Agree10 Disagree4

Bates and warnock combination that's a nightmare which thankfully has ended. Di canio would have been a breath of fresh air. A passionate manager who would play good football and get the best out of the players and i'm sure kick out the warnock deadwood. that's not a nightmare that's a dream.

Agree6 Disagree2

At least if our next manager were Musso the flimin' trains to games would run on time.

That said. I suspect we'll get someone who is less "Il Duce" and more "Hello Duckie".

(Not that there's owt wrong with that ;-)

Agree4 Disagree0

Dont knock Mussolini he got the trains running on time

Agree1 Disagree3

Can't have been watching QI - the trains running on time bit isn't true. Urban myth.

If the board give Hughes the job then it shows just how disconnected they are from us fans apart from been sacked by man city, Fulham and qpr which shows just how poor a manager he is first and foremost he is and will never be welcome at ER along with ince, Bruce, keane etc. Then we have Appleton and maclaren the latter been a complete joke and possibly the worst manager ever closely followed by Appleton. Please listen to us fans and give us McDermott, poyet or o'neill

Why would any manager worth his salt want this job. look at the state of our club. owners with no money. no apparent plan or leadership. a team of ageing 2nd class players. do me a favour footballs laughing at the state where in. BIlly and Don must be crying looking down at what all these people have done to us

Dear Mr Haigh or Mr Salem;

I would like to apply for the vacant managers job; before you consider gaz1966;

I believe I'm a good candidate because I'm old and past it, love to give my "buddies" one last hurrah! Whilst paying them top dollar; none of them can score, even if you opened the barn door for them!

They can huff and puff but can't quite get there, one even talks regularly to the official in the middle looking for guidance but the poor fellow is ignored

There are a group of us who get together in a Seniors league once a week, won't cost a lot, we do look good and if you don't like us we could always leave you in the lurch again next season

Yours lovingly {Ed013's Note - Hired}

dear mr haigh salem and mr bates
before you give the job to mr silverfox, i'm 57 and could probaley relate better with some of your older staff, also I only reguire the minimum wage which is a massive bonus for the firm. also my g/f could wash the kit after a hard match graft she brilliant at ironing. i'm also a decent gardener and could mow the pitch if required. all these saving could then be used to buy some decent players
ps I also do barwork and played for my local pubteam
yours in anticipation
gaz1966

Agree1 Disagree0

Dear mr haigh
Please imploy my as new boss as I am 15 years old a young manager up and comming I would only require a small wage as I am under the age of 18. I am also a very experienced ball boy this would come in hand on match days.
I woultned need any transfer money as I would sign all of the academy players and sell them on to teams in the premier league (Norwich would get first preference). I woultned use the funds to put back into the team as I feel you want them to get back some of the 10 million you invested in the club
Hope to hear from you soon
Yours sincerely Patrick o' brien {Ed013's Note - You tick the box of being young, Salem says - Hired}

A right pair of wags eh?
In that case you are both on the shortlist to replace Neil Warnock - not as Leeds manager but as the new village person in East Keswick when he vacates his rental home and goes back to Cornwall.

03 Apr 2013 20:13:26
last year redfearn knew he was to manage the team for only a short time. so he was not in a position to remove 'deadwood'. he cannot stand on toes when in the job for such a brief time so his options are to blood a couple of the youngsters and stroke a few failing reputations. I wish him the very best during his short tenure and a few points hopefully to stave off any fears of catching the other yorkshire clubs at the wrong end of the table!

Michael Brown on OS stating that "new boss" will inherit a good base.

Nice to know that he will be one of the first out of the team and the "other hangers on" will also be showed the door; don't bother closing it or turning out the light!

I've answered my own question! Leigh Bromby is going to take care of the under 18's whilst Neil Redfearn and Richard Naylor are caretaking. Good to see him back and good to see he has got his coaching badges whilst he has been injured. Loyalty to your club is to be applauded.

Here's my theory on the leeds situation. I think the plan was to always finish mid table this season and push next season, however Warnock felt he had a chance of reaching the play offs. Therefore he's now stepped aside to let who ever takes over to start their rebuild and development. If I'm right, I feel a bit ripped off as we were told on so many occasions that promotion was the goal, although if you look back a GFH's publicactions they never talked about promotion this season which makes me hope next season will be our year.

more like gfh were trying to finish as high as possible without making this years losses any worse.
at the moment they have spent 23 million on buying the club and the only thing they have made is off the 10% share they sold.
next season they will start to make a profit and money can be spent

And can you tell me what will happen if we go down any plan Bs thought of yet

Wild Card names for managers, Glenn Hoddle. however I do think Poyets the main man for the role

Very happy to see Warnock no longer at the helm of our great football club, the man was tactically deluded, built a below average championship side and never truly had his heart in the job. Look at our squad and ask who could compete in the Premiership. not many.

Who should be the man to take us back to the promised land?

Young and Hungry?
Paul Dickov
Roberto Di Matteo
Nick Barmby
Alan Shearer
Gareth Southgate
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
Aidy Boothroyd

Experience?
Owen Coyle
Alan Curbishley
Iain Dowie
Glenn Hoddle
Mark Hughes
Gary McAllister
Brian McDermott
David O'Leary
Martin O'Neill

Former Players first managers job?
Lucas Radebe
Dominic Matteo
David Batty
Richard Naylor

Answer and comment

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I think di matteo has to go under experience banner. Him, mcdermott or poyet for me. Interesting warnock saying new man will get 3 or 4 quality players leeds need. Why couldn't he? What has changed? Little bit of investment but I think prob 10 need to go with 6 to 7 quality in. I think our problem will be persuading a good manager that leeds has ambition and that he won't just be another grayson or warnock statistic. shrew leeds

David O'Leary, not gona happen but would love it if did!

Agree1 Disagree0

Would love O'Larey but not gunna happen. Recon McDermott could be the man come summer. The one on there that caught my eye though as I haven't seen it linked yet is Barmbey. I do have a feeling of animosity towards him because I think we wasted money we didn't have when we signed him but I gues that isn't his fault. Recon he's a half decent manager. Maybe even get Seth Johnson as assistant.

Or better still could just get Very Terribles back.

Gotta be McDermott

I can't believe Warnock is still at it, grabbing all the headlines he can despite walking away from leeds.

I'd actually be the very last person to ever want Hughes in this club, but I seriously cannot believe Warnock WANTS Hughes to 'destroy' Leeds?

Despite how much I loathe Hughes, I can't exactly see what Warnock has actually done for Leeds and the fact is we are in a WORSE position since he took over?

Warnock, you have been trying to destroy Leeds yourself - you publicly criticise players to try and hide your own failings and you personally drove out the highest goal scorer we had at this club?

I just hope we can stay up now, I think the only reason you walked (apart from being about to be 'pushed') is that you were worried you might take us out of the Championship after all - DOWNWARDS!

Believable12 Unbelievable0

I reckon he said give hughs job so he can destroy leeds, is so GFH don't consider him at all, that's how I read it, I don't see it as malicious at all.

Agree5 Disagree2

I believe Warnocks comment was pure sarcasm?

Agree5 Disagree1

Hes having a stab at Hughes not Leeds, sarcasm is lost on some guys on here.

Agree5 Disagree0

"I reckon he said give hughs job so he can destroy leeds, is so GFH don't consider him at all, that's how I read it, I don't see it as malicious at all. "

Maybe not, but the guy actually thinks he has created something to be destroyed?

Agree4 Disagree0

"sarcasm is lost on some guys on here"

I think the fact that Warnock actually thinks he created ANYTHING WORTH DESTROYING is lost on you people.

Agree7 Disagree0

Yes he is having a go at hughes and not Leeds but it is not sarcasm it was sour grapes because Hughes got his job. Warnock is never wrong it is never his fault. Its the referee its the ass referee fault the defence played badly the attack played badly. Never wrong tactics never wrong substitutions never playing players out of position. When he took sheff utd down it wasnt his fault it was tevez playing for west ham and liverpool for playiing a weakened team just before the champions league final. He never did it at the highest level. He is an arrogant out of date football dinosour who we had the misfortune of managing our great club.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Apr 2013 13:15:09
just heard neil warnock slagging off mark Hughes. Says he hopes hughes gets the job so he can ruin another of his teams. Neil how could anyone ruin this team you have left us they are already crap. I find warnocks arrogance unbelievable this man was in charge for just over a year in that time we played the worst football I have seen as a leeds fan. We have been left with one of the poorest if not the poorest squads I have known at elland road. We are 5 points off relagation if we lose at charlton on saturday and a few teams pick up points below us we could be in serious trouble of being dragged into a real relegation scrap and all you get from warnock is that he did a great job. Neil forget the farm in cornwall you should be booked into a funny farm.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Its called sarcasm

Agree3 Disagree3

Warnock has no idea what sarcasm is about, otherwise he would have left Leeds months ago.

In fact it took him several games with Fans directly criticising before he got the message?

Id take mcdermott or poyet. But def not hughes for goodness sake. Also disappointed to see players retweeting stuff when soneone says something good about them. Get a life. Youve hardly done yourselves proud this season. I mean one player has to play for leeds and scotland but he canthelp himself. when things are great fair enough but your playingfor 2 poor teams. Take a look at yourself. Sorry but it was really annoying seeing this after yet another defeat. shrew leeds

Believable0 Unbelievable4

03 Apr 2013 11:25:16
Its only paper talk. I really can't see Hughes getting offered the job. I can't see it been o'neil either as he will be on a high wage. Poyet again too expensive if over 2 million has to be spent on compo before he actually starts which means less money for players.
McDermott seems the best choice he had reading playing well in championship especially the backend of the season. he's on a fair wage and actually wants the job. He knows which players are good at this level.

Agree3 Disagree0

I think Martin O'Neill has said he wants to manage in the premiership. There will be more sackings at the end of the season so more managers to choose from, if they want to join Leeds. There will have to be money spent on better players, and GFH will have to promise that if they want a decent manager!

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Apr 2013 08:14:45
I think we need some who cares, would love Vinny, but that's never going to happen. Personally I' d give Naylor the job, experience at this level, doing well in current position, knows the youth at the club, knows the players, fans and he's one of us!

Believable6 Unbelievable12

03 Apr 2013 08:11:51
Personally think GFH are the problem, Warnock said they can in and wanted to take a look before any investment / action. You don't have that luxury in football, as Neil said they are not football people, and he's 100 percent spot on. David Haigh a Leeds Fan I don't believe that, ask yourself if you took over what would you do? I know he's a businessman but think we all know where Leeds is concern heart rules head, otherwise we wouldn't turn up every week. To me he's just a Brit frontman, for investment bank who thought we'd be up and sold for huge profit. May be he should concentrate on climbing Everest or what ever other charity task he's doing this week, because he's only playing at running a football club.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

He will not get much money back if we get relegated

Agree0 Disagree1

Didnt Haigh take down a load of pro Manchester United tweets down when he started to look at GFH buying Leeds? That's what I read. Probably in awe of Mark Hughes. Hanging out with his idols, and all that. Hopefully put business sense first. There's nothing about Mark Hughes' Appointment which could benefit Leeds United.

You lads get to see players in action all the time, I dont.
How many of the following are capable of playing in the prem?
Varney peltier green norris tongue austin brown hall habi morrison diouf mccormack
The way I see it. Our new about to become legend manager won't want to hold on to dead wood that he will either not play next season in the prom push or in the prem.
Hate to say it but unless you are capable if scoring 15+ goals in the champ as a striker you are not worth keeping. With a midfield that can defend and push firward and which includes two pacey players, we still need strikers that can score and as much as I admire his effort, not sure mcm can be prolific and i'm damn sure the others cant. Think we ok at back with ash in goal not kenny but need at least two in tge middle and two more up front. Somebody else lising tbeir job in tge summer is rafa?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

From that list the only potential premiership player is McCormack. He has two good feet, great intelligence and vision, an eye for goal, great first touch and can make a killer pass. His downfall is a lack of real pace which could leave him exposed at a higher level. The rest are probably not up to it or were once but no longer are.

Agree5 Disagree6

03 Apr 2013 13:29:38
They won't get rid of any of them players until we actually gain promotion to prem league as they are all gone players to have in a championship squad. Some of them will be ok as squad members in the prem league as well even if its for cup games.

Agree0 Disagree1

Agree with first reply to a point but would keep green, looks good enough for the Championship. Hall worth giving a chance too as is is Habib, we have not seen enough of them to make a considered judgement.

In a better team I believe Diouf would show more of the form he did when he first arrived, he is probably just disillusioned now by the lack of effort and talent around him

Essentially not many could cut it in the Prem now, too old or too slow.

Sam and dawson could, but they are young and may not reach the potential they show.

I would say a partial clear out to bring in flair and pace with a recognised goal scorer (the sort we used to have) new manager with new tactics, clear out the geriatrics AND, it may be that we can start next year with a new belief, forget the trials of the Coiln months and really get behind the team.

The only way is UP, MOT

If we do go down, then might as well keep most of em, they can probably do a job in Div 1 (HOPE NOT!)

This season is so annoying. I'm currently sitting in front of a paused tv looking at the championship table with our own fixtures loaded. It's worrying. Part of me thinks we will be ok, realistically us dropping TEN places seems like madness but our last 3 games at Birmingham Brighton and Watford don't seem winnable. Our next 3 against Charlton Sheff Weds and Burnley are all annoyingly dangerous. Once we lost to Derby, the news talked about them still being in the play off hunt but they are only two points ahead of us so it seems wierd me worrying about going down. It's just rubbish we are in this position sitting 5 points off the drop. All the teams below us will drop points in thr next 6. Let's just hope Redfearn gets us playing football, starts Ross up front centre and not out wide, gives Hall a chance on the wing and for the love of god doesn't start Brown
