"Hello everyone 🙂

Can I put to every Leeds supporter an idea? Yep, thanks.

The idea is, big drum role.

Free Leeds United TV for all. 😱

Right, calmed down, I'm asking to see if I am said idiot your have just thought I am. "

I thought I hadn't posted this as I was spell checking it. Needed to replace with "you might", plus it wasn't finished 😁

What I was going onto say is. If Leeds TV made a profit of (no idea of real amount) 3 million pounds a season, could that not be paid for by use, Leeds fans, getting enough sponsorship money to buy the rights and make it free for all of us.

Fans buy teams, so why not the TV rights of home games 🤔

So now you can all go 😜🤪 idea LOL.

Only CCCP will be on board with this particularly feeble idea. Such a sale would cheapen the image of the club so shouldn't happen. However, in a virus world where big attendances no longer assured selling, giving away or under selling television rights to sporting events and by an owner who made his fortune in this area is about as wise a concept as shooting John Wick's dog.

'CCCP' 🤣😉 perhaps one should not smile at that Georgey but it is so spot on.

Televisión rights are negotiated by the leagues and individual clubs don’t have the right to sell coverage of the games in markets covered by other deals or restrictions like the UK, no televised games at 3pm Saturday rule.

The lack of championship rights sales to other European countries gave LUTV the opportunity to sell the games to other countries where the rights hadn’t already been sold. This meant that for most of the season in Spain I could watch a live game including Saturdays for 5 euros, a real bargain, less than the cost of the alcohol and crisps you would eat and drink during the game!

As I understand it, the flexibility in the Premiership will be even less because the product is sold to far more countries. So unless the virus effects the situation again and rules again, I’m not sure that LUTV is going to have the rights to show very much to anyone in most countries but I guess we will see.

For a few games during lockdown I had the choice of watching three live tv feeds of the Leeds games, sky, lutv and a Spanish commentary version through dazn.

Berm You must be getting nervous. Matters coming to a head. Reggae Boyz sniffing around KP. He qualifies to represent them due to his father. This could put Southgate into gear. I'd like to see him play for 🇫🇴 😂.

this had made my day, hopefully KP answers the call. although not sure if he could ake the Jamacian team, judging by cool runnings they are all pretty quick and he is slower than dweyt york.

03 Aug 2020 19:20:52
Hes faster than all of that Jamiacan bobsled team.
I mean it was 88 so they are all well into their 50s now though!

They are probably still quicker.

i would still have a 50 year old ex sprinter over the slowest player i have ever seen, as said before my nan could beat him in a race and she has been dead for three years.

For me all this talk of Ben White's price being in the £40m bracket is way off the mark.
If he is worth that and saying Cooper and Pontus are not worth quite as much, they must still be valued in the £20m bracket each, even if you half that again to £10m each.
We sold Pontus for around £5m
Based on selling Pontus for £5m I really don't see Ben White at any more than £10m with additional payments based on achievements like becoming a regular international, Leeds winning trophies, then only payable if we sell at a profit.
Think I would much rather spend our reported £45m transfer kitty on 6 or 7 players who strengthen the whole squad.
Also I would much sooner see us as a mid table team rather than spend stupid money on greedy has been or never would be players like we did before.
While I will always wish to see money spent, I am very happy to accept a prudent budget so long as it is spent wisely and we do not end up going backwards.

Name 6 players who are Prem standard that we could get for £45million. That will only get us 3 at a push that are good enough and maybe not even that. Costa was £19million and he wasn't even that brilliant in the Championship.

1970 Your baseline of Pontus is misconceived as it was halfway to a firesale due to our need to comply with FFP and his deteriorating relationship with Bielsa. He was probably worth £9m truthfully. Most first teamers and squad players who make the bench regularly in the PL are going to be worth minimum £15m as we saw with Costa and the fee talked about for Adams. Only value to be had is when there's only a year or less on their contracts. The deal we should be looking to do with Seagulls for White is £25m now, 3m if he plays for England and another £4m if we're in the PL for the 21/ 22 season.

£25 mill up front?! You’re having a laugh George.
Who needs a MD when you have supporters such as Georgy who can do negotiations for ya free of charge 😂.

03 Aug 2020 20:59:41
Cork Why? He's rated in the £35m bracket. I was the first to post on here about how much it would take to prise him away and it was you who said that valuation was about right. By "up front", I mean the amount we pay but also relying on the 2 or 3 instalments we're allowed to use.

Alf if you go on transfer market web site it gives a list of all the players transfer fees with Lalana, Moreno, Wilson on loan, Ings, Mooy and Cavaleiro it came to about £40m. I'm not saying we should get those players but similar players who fit our style would certainly improve the squad at a cost of £45m. I trust Bielsa on recruitment as I think he is at Professor level with his knowledge of the game and can see a player. His interest alone got Dan James a transfer at a over inflated price and where James now looks if he is starting to struggle. James missed his chance to come to Leeds where Bielsa would have made him a great player, he has a very make or break season coming up.

Ok Georgy you now recognize that most transfers are not paid up front.
And stop with the name calling, though it’s not beneath you, as it’s just immature and rude.
We can all be unpleasant and say that you are such an arrogant person that you actually believe the crap you type.

Read a report today directly quoting the owner of Brighton

The Brighton owner stating:

1) Brighton will this year make a much bigger loss than had been expected ; and they have NOT made a profit in any of the years since promoted to the premier league

2) Brighton have bought many players but sold only a few in the past few years and that needs to change now

3) and that Brighton certainly do have far too many centre backs

So. In other words Brighton are pretty much skint and they need to sell players particularly centre backs

Suggests that Leeds buying Ben White from Brighton is more than feasible ( even more so if Ben White puts in a transfer request)

However, if our budget is just 35million I can't see us spending most of that on one player.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2020 12:05:53
Alf I think BW unproven in the EPL should not be more than 15 to 18 million

And if our budget is really just £35 million we need to prioritise on one quality striker and one quality central defender and in. the virus suppressed transfer fees £35 million. should be enough.

i agree ben white is unproven in prem and to an extent unproven in the championship due to how good we were.

i think anything more than 18 is too much however i think they will want closer to 30 and liverpool and city might just pay that?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2020 14:16:45
Just to put transfer fees in to perspective, Brighton paid out £20m on Adam Webster from Bristol City just 12 months ago so in my opinion I very much doubt they are going to let go of another 'Championship proven' centre back for any less than that figure. It makes no sense. Especially as Webster was not talked about in the same way as White is (future international)

If budget £45m, only realistic deal we could arrange for Ben White is say £25m plus add ons such as LUFC staying in the PL and him becoming an England international.

Has beilsa signed on, is he on a holiday, was hoping it would be resolved by now as 2 weeks into window, less than 6 weeks till new season and no sign of any new recruits or white offer?
Maybe just being over worried, but Radz and Orta not got a great history with transfer windows.
I hoping brentford get beat and we go all out for Benny, he looks class and reminds me of mahrez, takes On players and looks to have a shot.
I don't greatly understood financial side of things, but rumors are that It's worth around 180 mil to promoted teams. I understand we don't want to go back to risdale times and do a Fulham but squad needs new players and I feel 4-5 big signings and could be a top side
Could Radz take 80 and invest 100 mil, my fantasy would be spent like this.
White- 30mil, CB - 15, Eze- 20, Benrahma- 20, striker - (Watkins/ Celtic lad) -20mil.
Then a couple of loans for GK (ramsdale) another striker
Sell a few players- cassila, alioski, forshaw, bamford, Roberts.
Maybe time to stop 🍷.

Melbourne where do the player wages come from?

I am guessing each current squad player will have an increase due to promotion

The ground will need improvements to flood lighting, tv camera gantries, hospitality etc

The Academy has just been promoted to tier 1. We will need to buy better youngsters in

As I see it, our current squad would not go down as long as we keep White (or similar) at centre back and have a prolific striker to push Bamford (as Roofe did) . We have loaned Harrison again, so find another couple of loans

We need to stay in this league, not bust a gut to win the title.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Aug 2020 15:20:24
I think the floodlighting was done last year and the hospitality is already Premier league standard.

I agree though axe that our first target is to stay up and try to establish ourselves. 2/ 3 players of the right quality can help us to do that and then grow the quality of the squad each window.

I see Fat Frank is trying to get some excuses in early. But presumably Chelsea agreed to the Prem start date, so a bit late to be bellyaching now, and it's not like Chelsea are going to be overturning a 3-0 defecit against Bayern anyway.
